Glen Park in San Francisco was recently highlighted nationally as one of the coolest neighborhoods in America. The commercial core is small, with long‑time independent shops, cafes and a tight‑knit community, often referred to locally as "the Village." One of my favorites is Glen Park Cafe. It just has a great vibe all around. And the food is pretty awesome for sure. It seems like they have the "it" factor. It's right on the corner with enough windows and exposure to the morning sun to make it feel "breakfast-sy" cheery. Or is it the playful menu they have, or the coolness of the patrons, essentially the next-door neighbors you'll have for the next 45 minutes or so, ones you actually enjoy. You'll love the food and I've no doubt you'll come back. Maybe next time, you'll be my neighbor at the next table. See you there soon!

It's a lovely neighborhood spot, but that also means there can be a bit of a wait to get in. The service is quick and it's light and bright inside, also with a few spots outside if it's a nice day. Pancake Combo: Pair of classic diner pancakes with sausage (or bacon or ham) and eggs. At $20, this is a pretty normal SF price. Tasty stuff, but not groundbreaking of course. Fried Jalapeno Poppers: I love some poppers and ranch. These are probably pre-frozen like most places in the world, but they're good. Overall, it's a nice and reliable experience with good food.

One of the best breakfast restaurants in Glen Park. The customer service is top notch. They are very friendly, they were happy to answer questions, and make recommendations. I ordered the buttermilk blueberry pancakes. This isn't my go to, and they were delicious !! The blueberry syrup was the game changer. The layer of flavors; the butter, the blueberry syrup, it was tremendous. I now dream of these tasty cakes! I had four sausage, and poached eggs that were part of the breakfast "meal". The sausage was really tasty, and the eggs were perfectly poached. So, so, good! The parking isn't bad, considering it's SF, and my huge breakfast, the price was reasonable. Glen Park Cafe is elevated diner food that is delicious!!

Food 5/5 - the food was good! I'm not usually a brunch person--or simple breakfast person. I love breakfast, but I would never really pay to go out for it. This place is worth the buck though. Things I ordered: -coffee was super strong but subtle and I like my coffee like this -French dip: I liked the soft bread, salad and the dip sauce was yummy. Service 5/5 - The waiter was really friendly. Service was fast as well. Ambiance 5/5 - I love this little hidden gem--Glen Park, like a little Italy. I hope this area never changes. These restaurants have been here for decades.

Brunches here are rock solid. This corner shop feels welcoming & homey as soon as you sit down. Service is warm and friendly. Everything- from the breakfast burrito to lox and bagel to the machacca scramble came in huge portions, so be prepared to bring food home unless you're super hungry and could eat it all! Their fresh squeezed orange juice is sublime.

Cute spot, solid food. Great place to catch up with friends. Service was good too. I would love to go back to try the biscuits and gravy!

I've been here on multiple days of the week for brunch, and my experience here has always been fantastic. I love the mimosas; they have multiple flavors to choose from. My favorite items off the menu are the machaca scramble and the country fried steak. The coffee is amazing too. The people here are super friendly and the vibes are pretty chill.

First time coming here and already want to go back. We were lucky to find street parking. The food was great. My burrito was tasty. Especially the soy chorizo. I was so happy they offered that. My husband enjoyed his omelette and said the OJ was good. It's a small restaurant but there was enough room. Servers were helpful. Will be returning

Glen Park Cafe is your basic, but reliably good neighborhood diner. It's small and can seem cramped but, later in the day, it slows down. Options are simple burgers, sandwiches and brunch comfort foods. I had hopped off Bart to head over to Glen Canyon Park and made a pit stop here for lunch. The impossible burger was a filling choice. Fries are extra and soda comes in cans. Service was friendly and quick. Nothing overly extraordinary but a cute little neighborhood spot.

Our group of 6 got seated within 10-15 minutes on a Saturday morning and the inside is so lovely. Very homey and welcoming diner style. The raspberry pancakes were probably my favorite that we shared a small stack and it wasn't just raspberry sauce on top--it was even in the batter!! Half of us tried the special chilaquiles with carnitas and that was the move for sure. So tasty and great portions. Eggs cooked perfectly over easy. The other half had breakfast burritos and they hit the spot after a night out. The staff constantly checked in on us and we are leaving with happy full stomachs.

French dip was fantastic. Came on a weekend and had to wait about 30 minutes. Service was fast. There is a bathroom located inside the kitchen.

My husband and I visited Glen Park Cafe and were greeted by our waiter who was warm and friendly. We sat down at a cozy spot in the cafe and I ordered a fresh squeezed orange juice and poached eggs with hollandaise sauce tomato and avocado and my husband ordered a scramble with loads of vegis with cheddar cheese. Both came with delicious potatoes. We also ordered the chai lattes and the food was amazing! We sat and enjoyed our food while listening to great music. Don't hesitate ! This place is great! We will being going back!

I asked a passing waitress how long was the wait--(30 minutes she said confidently). I had ZERO faith in that estimate. I was wrong. About EVERYTHING. The Host was a genius. Our waitress was a royal. Her serving team was the Kentucky Derby of thoroughbreds racing to place the silverware, condiments, used dishes, and refilled coffee going. The food tasted Michelin level. I can SAY that because we had eaten dinner at an actual Michelin rated restaurant the night before. (No Yelp rating needed because they ABSOLUTELY deserved it= NARI) I had a FRIED French Toast BECAUSE it cannot sit waiting to be served. My daughter had Eggs Benedict and the granddaughter had fresh fruit, fresh squeezed OJ in an ADULT glass (because she is a Big Girl now). While we paid our tab we heard a woman scream "I'm giving this restaurant a ONE STAARR REVIEW on YELP because of this WAIT!!!" OMG I thought someone had been ROBBED--but..on THIS Mother's DAY..it was only a spoiled young lady with poor manners. For me...now at a point in life that WAITING anywhere for anything is a PERCENTAGE of TIME I have LEFT to live...this breakfast was easily worth the time that it cost in human terms. Go any time you got a Mom, Grandma, Dad, offspring, first date or best friend you want to share a moment in time with early in the day over food and drink. No waiting worth mentioning. Thanks

We waited about 30-40 minutes on a Sunday, which was understandable given how busy and well-known the restaurant is. One thing that confused us was the ordering process. I initially wanted to order a particular dish (unfortunately I don't remember the name and for some reasons I don't have a picture of it), but one server told me they couldn't make it because they were missing some ingredients. Later, another server took the same order without any issues, and the dish arrived exactly as written in the menu. Since it was clearly available, I never understood why I was told otherwise in the first place. As for the food, it was good, but it didn't quite live up to our expectations. Having experienced Creole food in New Orleans, we felt the flavors there were more balanced and memorable. Here, our main dishes were a bit saltier than we would have liked, and overall the food didn't stand out enough to make us want to return. The atmosphere was pleasant, and I can understand why the restaurant is so popular. However, after visiting, I felt that some of the hype may be bigger than the actual experience. I'm glad we tried it, but if you're already familiar with Creole food from New Orleans, you may find it less impressive than expected.

I actually don't mind that- almost half the people were not around and it made the wait go faster. But I was a bit annoyed they sat us at a counter without asking- it was fine but we were expecting a table and would have probably rather wait a little longer for one. They only asked about inside vs outside and we said either was fine but no indication that we needed to mention we wanted a table. Most places seem to give you the heads up and make sure it was fine. Oh well. Everything sounded great and "The Plow" included 2 lemon ricotta pancakes, 2 eggs, pork sausage (you can also get chicken apple sausage links or bacon), and potatoes. The one nice thing of the counter is you get to watch them make everything and it is so organized and efficient. Food was solid. The wait went by pretty quick and wasn't a factor for me. I thought the pancakes were just okay- with all the hype I guess I expected them to be amazing but I honestly make better lemon ricotta pancakes (LOL). I think they needed a lot more lemon zest, maybe a touch of sugar, and the salted butter sounds great but added literally nothing. Maybe it was an off day and they weren't bad my any means but definitely nothing special. Similar thoughts on the pork sausage which was maybe slightly overcooked and the eggs which were a little under seasoned and I prefer mine a bit runnier. The potatoes were excellent, I liked those a lot and their hot sauce is very good too. $27 for the plate which seems a bit high but it's brunch in SF and it's nice they have the option to get the savory stuff but also a couple pancakes. And considering a single pancake is $7.50 it seems like a much better option to get the plate (overall all their sides are almost laughably priced ordered a la carte). I will say they use nice ingredients and a lot of the same producers I try to support in my own shopping/cooking as well as the same type of practice like pasture raised eggs. That in itself makes me feel good supporting them. I'd consider coming back but would request to sit outside and enjoy the vibes, definitely get something with potatoes, and maybe some hot sauce to go. Three and a half stars, I rounded up for now and will re-evaluate after another visit.
