The chicken fried steak seemed to be one of their most popular dishes, so we had to try it. We asked for the gravy on the side because it's chorizo-based, and we're not huge fans of chorizo. If you enjoy that flavor, you'll probably love the sauce, it was well made. For us, though, we preferred a more traditional country gravy. I have mixed feelings about this place. Based on the reviews, I was expecting the food to be a bit better than what we experienced. The coffee was good, but the service was quite slow. Glen Park in San Francisco was recently highlighted nationally as one of the coolest neighborhoods in America. The commercial core is small, with long‑time independent shops, cafes and a tight‑knit community, often referred to locally as "the Village." One of my favorites is Glen Park Cafe. It just has a great vibe all around. And the food is pretty awesome for sure. It seems like they have the "it" factor. It's right on the corner with enough windows and exposure to the morning sun to make it feel "breakfast-sy" cheery. Or is it the playful menu they have, or the coolness of the patrons, essentially the next-door neighbors you'll have for the next 45 minutes or so, ones you actually enjoy. One of the best breakfast restaurants in Glen Park. The customer service is top notch. They are very friendly, they were happy to answer questions, and make recommendations. I ordered the buttermilk blueberry pancakes. This isn't my go to, and they were delicious !! The blueberry syrup was the game changer. The layer of flavors; the butter, the blueberry syrup, it was tremendous. I now dream of these tasty cakes! I had four sausage, and poached eggs that were part of the breakfast "meal". The sausage was really tasty, and the eggs were perfectly poached. So, so, good! The parking isn't bad, considering it's SF, and my huge breakfast, the price was reasonable. It's a lovely neighborhood spot, but that also means there can be a bit of a wait to get in. The service is quick and it's light and bright inside, also with a few spots outside if it's a nice day. Pancake Combo: Pair of classic diner pancakes with sausage (or bacon or ham) and eggs. At $20, this is a pretty normal SF price. Tasty stuff, but not groundbreaking of course. Fried Jalapeno Poppers: I love some poppers and ranch. These are probably pre-frozen like most places in the world, but they're good. Options are simple burgers, sandwiches and brunch comfort foods. I had hopped off Bart to head over to Glen Canyon Park and made a pit stop here for lunch. The impossible burger was a filling choice. Our group of 6 got seated within 10-15 minutes on a Saturday morning and the inside is so lovely. Very homey and welcoming diner style. The raspberry pancakes were probably my favorite that we shared a small stack and it wasn't just raspberry sauce on top--it was even in the batter!! Half of us tried the special chilaquiles with carnitas and that was the move for sure. So tasty and great portions. Eggs cooked perfectly over easy. Glen park cafe is one of those few places in the city that is approachable, old fashioned cafe where you'll get decent food and decent prices. It isn't like mind blowing food, which isn't a bad thing, it's just very good. Some better than others. The Machaca scramble is good. Kind of light actually. 7.0/10 Breakfast burrito is a fantastic size. If you're not too hungry I'd for sure split it with someone. 7.3/10 The super omelette sounded great it has everything you'd want, but the chorizo is just way too greasy. It kind of ruined it for me. Otherwise it was solid. I'd prob order an omelette again but just skip the chorizo. 6.8/10 Overall this place is solid really it's great for the neighborhood and it's a really great place for anyone looking for a solid breakfast with the family. Took a chance on coming here on a Saturday morning, but I wasn't sure if there would be any parking.  Thankfully, we found one.   Upon entering, it was pretty packed.  The place itself isn't that big.   They have dining inside and some tables outside.   The person who took my order seemed pretty stressed and wasn't too helpful.  Someone called to place a phone order and told them, "Now is not a good time." and hangs up.    I asked for some recommendations since it's my first time here. The dude was not trying to help. We ordered: 1.  Classic Breakfast Sandwich - It was a big sandwich, and the bacon was thick. 2.  Bagel Sandwich - The cream cheese scared my husband, but it was pretty good.  The egg and bacon made my bagel look tiny. 3.  Pancake combo  - I switched the pancakes to the special raspberry pancakes they had.  I liked that the pancakes looked like they had raspberries in it.   Vanilla bean whip cream and fresh raspberries were perfect.  I didn't even use syrup 4.  Side of potatoes - good and flavorful     The food was good and decently priced.  I'm not a fan that a combo didn't come with potatoes.  He mentioned that all items are a la carte.  Servers seemed nice,  like they liked what they do.  The guy that took my order must've just been having a bad day. read more

My partner and I have been here twice and both times were extremely delicious and just what we wanted/needed. As a french toast aficionado, he said the Wake and Bake was delicious but fresh and perfectly cooked. He was worried it might be too heavy, but it was executed in such a way that all the flavors blended in a harmonious (not too sweet) way. I had both the Spicy Benny and the Glen Park Benny and both were excellent flavor combinations. The servers were very respectful and attentive without making us feel rushed. Additionally, it is a cute no-frills place that is a hop away from Glen Park BART and we have not had a hard time getting seated at popular times. The only downside? You do have to go through the kitchen to use the restroom, which is always a bit awkward even if the Staff are understanding and nice about it. read more

We ordered the super omelette and a short stack of blueberry pancakes. The super omlette was cooked to perfection, hitting me with a plethora of flavors and textures. Light and fluffy, it certainly gets you stuffed, but without that icky feeling of fullness afterward. Additionally, the blueberry pancakes are to die for! We're not local so we were expecting some crazy bustling San Francisco wait but we actually got in and were seated immediately. This is a part of SF that feels like a small town. Over the time we were there it went from basically empty to bustling and seemed like a very well liked place. Service was fast and it was a pleasant place to eat.
