We had dinner at Pecos Grilling on a Friday night. I called ahead to see if they had a full bar. Whoever answered the phone said there were open seats. Ummm... I re-asked several different ways and finally got what I was looking for! We waited about 5 minutes. We ordered a drink at the bar and then got sat. Once sat, our waitress acknowledged us about 3-5 minutes later. We ordered 2 waters, a coke and cheese sticks. The coke came first. The cheese sticks about 5 minutes later, then the water about 10 minutes later. Our waitress stopped by before the water got there to see if we were ready to order. We didn't even have water yet! The place was pretty busy. Our waitress just struggled to keep up with her tables. There was another waitress who was more experienced that jumped in and helped us. We finally were able to order our dinner. The cook, or someone, came out to tell us they were out of the cut of meat we ordered. This was a disappointment because we were here to celebrate my other half's birthday. So it wasn't off to a great start. We picked something else and by the time we got our food, it was cold. (Can you hear the heavy sigh?) The manager offered to take care of my meal, but I'm not about getting a free meal. I ended up letting him give us a discount. He was very nice and really tried to make things right. So, with all the things that went wrong, I am willing to give this place a try again.

We come for the great food. I had fork tender Pot Roast with mashed sweet potatoes and corn. My husband had 16oz. Prime Rib with sautéed asparagus and fried okra. Amazing! This is our go-to place in Tomball.

Dinner tonight. 16 Oz AJFoyt Ribeye. Medium Rare. Sharing, or it would have Rare. This place is busy. Always. We will share Asparagus and a Sweet Potato. I am having Cabbage, alone. The service has been great so far. Let's see how the food is this time. Ambiance, no nice to be able talk in a busy.....got go...Dessert time. Everything was great. Still need to with Rare. He learned.

I'm not sure how this place has a couple of good reviews as of recently, because it is not good whatsoever. I ordered a medium well ribeye and my fiancé a medium bone-in ribeye. They were both very rare and super, super fatty. The ribeye was extremely hard to chew and I had to either cut around the fat or just spit it out. The flavor was also not there for my ribeye, but my fiancé's was decently flavored compared to mine. The vegetable of the day were green beans with bacon, and despite them having bacon, there was just no flavor, not even salt. I am extremely disappointed and will not be back and DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. Service was okay, but still would not be back.

Out on a Saturday night with my best friend and we run across this restaurant. Anyplace that offers a prime rib in Texas I almost feel responsible to try. So I ordered the 14 0z ribeye with asparagus for the side and I thought the cognac and onion sauce sounded good so I added that to my steak. The only way I could describe my ribeye was it was "pretty good" but not great. It tasted like a steak I would have seasoned and cooked myself, and I'm not very good at cooking or seasoning a steak. I was very disappointed with the cognac sauce, it looked like a light brown gravy and was very bland. I would not get this side sauce again. Fun side note-if you order asparagus as a side, you only get four small pieces of asparagus. I did not know there was some kind of asparagus shortage going on at this time.

    Best food for lunch!

Food and service so good! Taste like home cooking. Been eating at this place for years never disappoint.

My friend ordered a drink she was raving over, Dazed and Confused. It was lemony and incredibly refreshing. We started with the Foie Gras Meatballs. Delish! It's like a creamy meatball. I ordered one of the specials: Flat Iron steak (MR) with Brussel sprouts. The steak was a little on the rare side but it was still amazing. Lightly charred on the outside with a drizzle of a sauce I couldn't place. We finished with their little trifecta of desserts: Creme Brulé, Key Lime pie and chocolate mousse. It was a perfect finish to an amazing meal. Side note: my friend that recommended this restaurant had dined here 4 times in 2 weeks. She is obsessed! lol

We know exceptional hospitality when we experience it, and we absolutely know a GOOD drink when we FEEL it. And Bonfire delivers on all three--every single time. Chef Joe is incredibly passionate about what comes out of his kitchen, and he'll personally come out to greet you and make sure you're having an amazing experience. From owner Tracy, to the General Manager, bartenders, the BEST server ever--Christian--and the entire staff, everyone makes you feel genuinely welcomed. And I have to give a special shoutout to my favorite bartender, who makes a Carajillo Old Fashioned like NO OTHER! I could go on and on, but I don't want to leave anyone out because this entire team is phenomenal. And let me tell you--the Chef's Table is by far the best table in the house! We started with the Fried Green Tomatoes. They were good, but not quite enough to dethrone our longtime appetizer champion: Pecos' fried pickle chips. The prices were reasonable, so I decided to go full-bore and order the "Cowboy" Chicken Fried Steak, which was only a few dollars more than the "Cowgirl" version. Mom chose the Chicken Fried Chicken, while my wife went with the Pot Roast. When our food arrived, I was genuinely taken aback. My chicken fried steak was larger than the plate it was served on--seriously, it was that big. The side dishes were equally generous. After bringing the leftovers home, I managed to get two more meals and a sandwich out of that steak. Likewise, both of my ladies left with take-home boxes, and that NEVER happens with Mom. She typically treats these lunch outings as her main meal of the day, but even she waved the white flag. So why not a five-star review? The answer comes down to flavor. While the portions were enormous, the service was excellent, and the prices were more than fair, the seasoning seemed a little timid. Across the board, the food could have used a bit more punch and personality. Nothing was bad--it just never quite crossed into memorable territory. That said, I would absolutely recommend Goodson's, especially if you have family or friends visiting from out of state. It showcases two classic Texas traits: HUGE portions and good value. As for the mild seasoning? If your guests are from up North, they'll probably feel right at home.

Upon arrival we noticed the live music was held on the outside patio that's shared with some other neighboring restaurants. We approached the hostess and requested to sit outside however she stated there were no open tables. I asked if we could be notified when a table opened and she stated yes. In the meantime we sat in the bar area. A gentleman approached us initially to take our drink order, then he switched with another waitress. The restaurant was really nice with dim lighting that sets the tone for an intimate date night. We ordered a wedge salad, crab cakes, steak, fries, and mac n cheese. Presentation of the food was really nice and overall the food was decent. We anticipated this steakhouse being comparable to a Perry's or Kirby's, however customer service and food quality did not meet the bar as we expected. There were a few tables that opened up outside however the hostess never informed us that we could move to the patio. That was disappointing as we mainly came for the music. But overall it was a decent experience.

What was particularly nice, though, is if you have someone in your party that has very specific nutritional/dietary needs, Texas Roadhouse does make all of that available for you. Ribs were ordered by several of us, and they were truly "fall off the bone" ribs. Very good! The hot dogs off the kids menu were good, too, even though several adults we were with opted for that. The steaks are cooked nicely and flavorful. French fries are above average. Kids' chicken tenders were actually about the size of a few McD's chicken nuggets, so that was disappointing. The Rattlesnake Bites (chopped jalapeños with cheese, then fried and served with your choice of dipping sauce) were very filling but very good. I would definitely order them again. Service was decent. We were tended to, but not as often as I would have liked. One of the children ordered applesauce with her meal, but no spoon was provided.
