Let me start off by saying I outgrew the whole steakhouse thing years ago. Between leveling up my own culinary game in the kitchen and raising a kid who can sear a steak Gordon Ramsay would tip his hat to (literally), I usually prefer to do steak at home. But tonight? Tonight, I was feeling a Forks Up! moment. So, with a spin of the Google Maps wheel, Texas Roadhouse it was. Plus, the ladies said their bodies were due for some iron, LOL. And let me tell you... this visit just might have brought the steakhouse back into the rotation. Between the food and the service, I was impressed and I'd 1000% come back, especially if I know Jessica and Smiley are on deck. The night started on the right note the moment Jessica greeted us. She was instantly down to have a little fun while we filmed some clips for the night and Smiley, the manager, was totally game too. I asked Jessica for the "most popular" and "least popular" appetizers. Most popular? You guessed it: the legendary Cactus Blossom. Least popular? The Rattlesnake Bites, which honestly, weren't bad at all, but probably not an encore performance for me. And we didn't even make it far before the heavenly combo of those warm rolls and cinnamon butter started shrinking our appetites anyway. Dangerous. Then came the feast -- steak, more steak, shrimp, ribs, salads, rice... a full-blown carnivorous celebration. Every single cut of meat came out perfectly cooked. And not "good-for-a-chain" perfect, I mean legit steakhouse quality. Texas Roadhouse showed out on this night, no question. Now, huge shoutout to my girl Jessica. Even if the food hadn't hit (which it did), I still would've walked out with a smile. Her energy, timing, and genuine hospitality are exactly what I wish more restaurants had. She made it feel like dinner at a friend's house where everything just clicks because the vibe is right. So major thanks to Smiley and the whole crew for a killer dinner and even better service. Great American comfort food and decent cuts of steak for the price. If it is a holiday, definitely get on the wait list because the waiting area is narrow. If you are solo and go mid-week, head straight to the bar for faster service and some hot rolls. She quietly told me that she had looked over and seen two roaches climbing on the wall next to her. Had my birthday dinner with family tonight. There were mixed emotions regarding everyone's food, I had the chicken friend steak, sweet potatoes and corn which were really good. Jymia was our waitress and she was absolutely exceptional, hands down one of the best waitresses I've ever been served by. I mean this with 0 exaggeration. The restaurant opens at 4:00pm. We arrived at 4:15 to find they didn't have enough wait staff to seat everyone. We were put on a wait list while they were waiting for the wait staff to show up. We all know Texas Roadhouse has the best bread. I shouldn't even need to say that. I went here with my mom last night and she's gluten free so I had the basket all to myself and I was fighting demons not to eat all 4 rolls (I had 3- they're that good). I always get the Dallas filet medium rare. I feel like the sizes vary a lot, so I usually just order the 6 oz and it'll often be bigger. With my steak I also always get the Caesar salad, which has a ton of dressing and I love that the croutons aren't rock hard like the croutons at some other places. They're crunchy but melt in your mouth. I tried the mac n cheese for the first time and the sauce was a little grainy but still tasted good. There is some inconsistency with how steaks are cooked. If something isn't cooked to your liking though, they have no problem cooking it more or bringing you a new one if it's too well-done. Our servers are always super nice and the service is always quick. I also feel like this location has a pretty short wait time compared to other locations I've been to. We went at 7:30 PM on a Thursday and only had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. read more

Hello Yelpers!!! Your girl is in the H-Town for the weekend. Had to do a quick stop at Texas Roadhouse and I completely forgot to take pictures. I mean it's your regular steak dinner. The rolls were delicious. It was very busy. They could do better on the cleaning especially on the floors. Who wants to see peanuts, crumbs and tissue on the floor while having dinner? Do you? Definitely not me. I ordered the 8oz Salmon with Mac n Cheese and fresh veggies. My brother ordered the Sirloin Steak with Mashed potatoes and my sister had the Salmon and shrimp with sweet corn as her side. We all had the Raspberry lemonade drink. That's pretty much it! Either way, give me yeast rolls with regular butter and I'm in heaven...this, not so much! I went on a Wed or Thursday night after a flight and the wait was very minimal. The waitress I ended up with was very good and patient. I've been to TXR before but it's not my spot so I don't come often or regularly enough to be super familiar with their menu. I ended up ordering the ribs and 12 ounce ribeye with a baked potato and house salad. The ribs could have used some work, they were too fatty and the sauce could be better. Otherwise, I overall enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, towards the end of my meal, another employee came and sat across from me to roll silverware. I did see her name but forgot to write it down. I'm no prude but she clearly needs a reminder about appropriate topics to discuss when patrons are in earshot. She wasn't whispering at all, she actually talked pretty loud like she wanted other people to hear but I'd much rather not hear you and a male employee going back and forth on sexual topics. Texas Roadhouse may not be a Michelin-rated establishment, but I still expect any restaurant to strive for that level of care and consistency--especially when I'm spending $40 on a meal. Unfortunately, this visit fell far short. I ordered a 3-piece catfish entree to enjoy at the bar and a chicken fried sirloin entree to go. What I received was both meals packed for takeout without clarification or apology. The baked potato meant to accompany the catfish--ordered with butter and cheese--was served plain, still wrapped in foil, uncut and unseasoned. When I asked for a to-go drink I had ordered a Coke with my meal at the bar,I was handed a small, empty child's cup, implying I should pour the drink I had into the empty cup myself. No Togo drink was offered even though they had converted my bar entree to a Togo. Not exactly service with a smile. It's not about expecting fine dining from a casual chain--it's about getting the order right, preparing sides as requested, and treating customers with a bit of care. The food to me was ok I've had the rice better at other locations and the beans weren't hot hot the shrimps were good. The ambience was family oriented and casual wouldn't rush back but enjoyed the experience. read more

Ordered ribs for appetizer and they were not tender at all. Rubbery. Looked like they had been frozen and warmed up. Avoid the ribs.

Ordered a sirloin steak and was convinced by waitress to be covered by mushrooms and surprisingly it was covered by mushrooms but mushrooms over cooked and burnt! The burnt smell and flavor overpowered the plate. Had to ask to retire it from the table. Gave them a chance and ordered a porterhouse without mushrooms. First of all, Jessica, working the bar, has to be one of the most professional servers in the industry. Our experience at Texas Roadhouse brings to mind the old adage you get what you pay for. When pay $24 for a Dallas fillet, you get 8 ounces of Dallas fat not even close to a real fillet. We went to have a casual dinner on a Monday night. Hostess tried to sit us at a table which was under some sort of leaking pipe which was streaming water. No thank you. Then went to re seat us but took another couple instead. Finally they found us a table and took us to sit down. We were wanting appetizers, meals, and maybe some dessert. Food is good. Environment and service is not where it should be. There were 5 different times when the staff huddled to sing happy birthday...it's very distracting from everyone else's dining experience. The service was slow. Somehow our appetizer was delivered several minutes ahead of drinks. All 4 of us ran out of our drinks at least twice each. Our waiter was a newer waiter, yet leadership apparently gave him a section that was the furthest from the kitchen. We had the very very far corner booth. I could go on with other issues. We have dined here 4 times in past 2 months (usually around $140 per visit) and we could have accepted all of the above but the repeated birthday singing is what put it over the top for us....we won't be coming back as long as the yelling of "Happy Birthday" is still happening. One particular guy seems to yell/sing louder than the rest of the staff....not sure if he is special or not. read more

UPDATE: Regional mgr contacted us and made things right. We appreciate that they gave us the attention/understanding as we were not trying to get by with something. The mistake was made by their advertising team that provided the special to the TV show that promoted the special . They just advertised on Houston Life for their New Year's Eve special on Friday 12/27. It was $89.00 for dinner for two. We stopped in to pay for the meal to make it quicker on 12/31 for pickup. The mgr stated that they DO NOT offer any specials as shown on TV. She was very matter of fact and could care less that we were now inconvenienced- told my husband he could go call all their other locations to find a location to assist up. So thought we'd go here for something different and since it's been awhile since I've gone here. So I normally get the Chicken Friend Chicken or the Chicken Fried Sirloin.. but today I thought let's be spontaneous and try their steak and ribs out. Well everyone knows how good their rolls are and those will continue to be good especially with their cinnamon butter. Had to limit myself to only two rolls to save room for the rest of the food lol! The Texas Combo - while the filet and ribs were cooked very well. I wish their plating was a little bit more photogenic? The baked potato was a little basic for being loaded. A little over cooked with a dab of bacon, cheese, and butter. That was it I had to ask for some more butter to compliment it more. The corn was ok nothing special. Our server was attentive and came by to ask how everything was every once in a while. He seemed unenthusiastic to be there but did the job as needed to be done. On this particular day we went the restaurant had signs posted up that they were closing early. It was pretty busy for a Sunday night and we waited for about 25min for a table of two. ONE this place always has a wait time! We did the mobile Waitlist and sat on our car for 45+min! It's a Friday night was 6:45pm when we checked in to wait! We finally got a text to make our way inside a very packed check in desk and quite disorganized! Alot of young folks working the desk and Not very Hospitable either. I knew we'd have to wait again in that cramped area to be taken to our table and I asked the counter girl for a bag of peanuts. Hubby was starving. Well the young lady told me, that I'd be sat soon and I should ask the waitress! Ughh Ok? We proceed to wait and everyone around us waiting for take to there seats and we remained there awkwardly. I finallly decided to go ask again? About our getting sat down? And all the girls up there didn't even know what happen but they told me they gave my Table to someone else! Some how names confused and it's now longer to sit! Wow. They weren't very apologetic and we still had to wait even longer. They wanted to sit us in bar I said NO! IDK but tonight's experience seriously has shown me that this place doesn't care very much about the customers. Food was ok hubby steak and my Country fried sirloin were cooked well! Our waitress was good but she forgot to get us bread she offered t ok bring. This place is honestly soo loud. As usual the food was good. It did take awhile to get our food even though the restaurant wasn't full. Lots of empty tables. The expeditor did not notice I didn't have my gravy when my dish was served. We were seated in the bar area, which was ok. Our server, Dakota was attentive, sometime a little too friendly. He talked too much and did not listen. Our rolls were cold by the time we got our food, I asked for fresh ones but never did get them. Never was asked if we needed more tea. So my stepson wanted to have a great time on his birthday so we chose his favorite spot, at 11am I asked to give a update to having a party of 20 to the tomball location, yes I know no reservation but still just heads up. The rude person who answered the phone said call back an hour before you want to have that big of party. I was like ok. I called back at 5 and told them we were expecting at least a 12 to 18 group of people, they had me on hold for about 12 minutes and the person in charge of this stated we would be all separated for that large group and that it wouldn't have an available seats till 8:30pm, mind you they said in the morning to call back 1 hour before we would show up. So it's 5pm I called an hour before our time and yet they couldn't accommodate until 3 1/2 hours later this was so unacceptable. I did what they asked and still was told they couldn't help. If this was going to be the case why didn't the girl who answered the phone that morning to simply say for that big a group you should call ahead 3 hours instead of an hour ahead. Don't get the catfish! Im praying i dont get sick! Worst I have ever had. The restaurant does great steaks. I should have done my normal order. The service was great. The server would make a great manager. I wasn't impressed with how the manager handled the situation. My husband basically had a salad and bake potato and returned the catfish. I covered mine with lemon and sent one piece back because i just could t eat it. Salads are always great. Veggies and rolls were great.
