A good, solid choice. Obviously, if you love beef, this is the place to come. What was particularly nice, though, is if you have someone in your party that has very specific nutritional/dietary needs, Texas Roadhouse does make all of that available for you. Ribs were ordered by several of us, and they were truly "fall off the bone" ribs. Very good! The hot dogs off the kids menu were good, too, even though several adults we were with opted for that. The steaks are cooked nicely and flavorful. French fries are above average. Kids' chicken tenders were actually about the size of a few McD's chicken nuggets, so that was disappointing. The Rattlesnake Bites (chopped jalapeños with cheese, then fried and served with your choice of dipping sauce) were very filling but very good. I would definitely order them again. Service was decent. We were tended to, but not as often as I would have liked. One of the children ordered applesauce with her meal, but no spoon was provided. Searching for the waitress was unsuccessful, so she ended up eating it with a fork, which is not an easy task. A quick check shortly after delivery of our meal was warranted, obviously, but not provided. Steakhouse atmosphere, and very family friendly. We came for lunch recently, and although crowded, we were able to be seated relatively quickly, and we were a party of 7. Lots of parking, easy access off of 249/Tomball Tollway. We are usually very happy with food, service and ambience at this restaurant but tonight, August 21, 2026 we were not pleased. First of all our server was horrible! She got our order wrong, brought me a glass of beer and the glass was dirty. Asked for an orange for the beer, it took her 3 times to get it to our table. The food was subpar. I had the country fried sirloin. It was so this I could hardly find the steak. It was covered in a gravy that looked and tasted like pastel. The mashed potatoes with cream gravy had no flavor at all. Blah!! Husband had burger and fries. Fries were from a bag of frozen French fries as was my granddaughter's. He said the meat was tasteless. My granddaughter and I used the ladies restroom and it smelled awful. Was dirty. Our meal cost $66 and it was not worth $10. Will not be back. I had pretty high expectations after hearing so many people recommend it, but overall, I left feeling a little underwhelmed. The restaurant was also extremely packed and loud, and the service was quite slow. Be prepared to wait, especially during busy hours. I tried quite a bit during my visit, including the combo appetizer with Rattlesnake Bites and Tater Skins, a loaded baked potato, Country Fried Chicken, mac and cheese, a ribeye, ribs, and peach sweet tea. The dinner rolls were probably my favorite part, not necessarily the best rolls I've ever had, but they are definitely addictive and very easy to keep eating. Overall, I'd say the food is decent for what you're paying, particularly if you're looking for an inexpensive steak dinner. But if you're expecting the quality, atmosphere, or service of a true steakhouse, Texas Roadhouse doesn't really come close. How did this very popular Texas Roadhouse get a 2.9 rating on Yelp? Like the old joke "no one goes there anymore, it's too crowded" I would suspect people frustrated at the long wait time that often happen at dinner. This is actually the first time we made it inside --I remember stopping here once or twice and getting an hour hour and a half wait notice and moving on. Today we did the early dine special, but even at 4pm the place was almost full. Parking was a ways back because the whole near lot was reserved for doordash and uber eats drivers, indicating they also do a huge takeout business. We always enjoy stopping at Texas Roadhouse and our experience here was wonderful as well. We came today because we wanted to check out the early dine option. Monday through Thursday until 5 o'clock they have 11 entrées that you can get with two sides for $11.99. That includes a 6 ounce sirloin steak, country fried sirloin dinner , barbecue chicken, herb crusted chicken, pulled pork dinners, pork chops, as well as a couple of different salad options. Each of these options come with two fresh sides as well as their delicious rolls. You cant go through drive-through without spending 12 bucks and this was more food than we could finish. Of course, if you're not going to be coming in for the early bird dinner, this location also has the traditional starters, burgers and hand cut steaks that they're famous for. I believe this month they also have a rib special. Since we came early, we didn't have to wait to be seated but the restaurant quickly filled up while we were having our dinner. Let me start off by saying I outgrew the whole steakhouse thing years ago. Between leveling up my own culinary game in the kitchen and raising a kid who can sear a steak Gordon Ramsay would tip his hat to (literally), I usually prefer to do steak at home. But tonight? She was instantly down to have a little fun while we filmed some clips for the night and Smiley, the manager, was totally game too. I asked Jessica for the "most popular" and "least popular" appetizers. Most popular? You guessed it: the legendary Cactus Blossom. Least popular? The Rattlesnake Bites, which honestly, weren't bad at all, but probably not an encore performance for me. And we didn't even make it far before the heavenly combo of those warm rolls and cinnamon butter started shrinking our appetites anyway. Dangerous. Then came the feast -- steak, more steak, shrimp, ribs, salads, rice... a full-blown carnivorous celebration. Every single cut of meat came out perfectly cooked. Great American comfort food and decent cuts of steak for the price. If it is a holiday, definitely get on the wait list because the waiting area is narrow. If you are solo and go mid-week, head straight to the bar for faster service and some hot rolls. It sucks that I have to make this review because I really like this roadhouse since it's 5 minutes from my house. Service was great. I forget our servers name but she was on point. We order a New York strip and the chicken Alfredo. 20 minutes later, she comes to our table and says "sorry to inform you but we don't have any pasta so I'm getting the kitchen to recook your steak because it was sitting in the window for to long" (I know. Chicken Alfredo at a steak house. My kid wanted it" Then we order. Food comes out. Everything was great. Until I went to take a bite out of my baked potato and I find one if those plastic pics they mark the meat to how it's suppose to be cooked inside. Husband and I ate dinner yesterday and loved it. We arrived at 4:00 and within 15 minutes they had a waiting line. Ask for Scott to be your server. He listens and gave us excellent service. We all know Texas Roadhouse has the best bread. I shouldn't even need to say that. I went here with my mom last night and she's gluten free so I had the basket all to myself and I was fighting demons not to eat all 4 rolls (I had 3- they're that good). I always get the Dallas filet medium rare. I feel like the sizes vary a lot, so I usually just order the 6 oz and it'll often be bigger. With my steak I also always get the Caesar salad, which has a ton of dressing and I love that the croutons aren't rock hard like the croutons at some other places. They're crunchy but melt in your mouth. I tried the mac n cheese for the first time and the sauce was a little grainy but still tasted good. There is some inconsistency with how steaks are cooked. If something isn't cooked to your liking though, they have no problem cooking it more or bringing you a new one if it's too well-done. Our servers are always super nice and the service is always quick. I also feel like this location has a pretty short wait time compared to other locations I've been to. The rolls were delicious. It was very busy. They could do better on the cleaning especially on the floors. Who wants to see peanuts, crumbs and tissue on the floor while having dinner? Do you? Either way, give me yeast rolls with regular butter and I'm in heaven...this, not so much! I went on a Wed or Thursday night after a flight and the wait was very minimal. The waitress I ended up with was very good and patient. I've been to TXR before but it's not my spot so I don't come often or regularly enough to be super familiar with their menu. I ended up ordering the ribs and 12 ounce ribeye with a baked potato and house salad. The ribs could have used some work, they were too fatty and the sauce could be better. Otherwise, I overall enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, towards the end of my meal, another employee came and sat across from me to roll silverware. I did see her name but forgot to write it down. I'm no prude but she clearly needs a reminder about appropriate topics to discuss when patrons are in earshot. She wasn't whispering at all, she actually talked pretty loud like she wanted other people to hear but I'd much rather not hear you and a male employee going back and forth on sexual topics. The restaurant opens at 4:00pm. We arrived at 4:15 to find they didn't have enough wait staff to seat everyone. We were put on a wait list while they were waiting for the wait staff to show up. Unfortunately, this visit fell far short. I ordered a 3-piece catfish entree to enjoy at the bar and a chicken fried sirloin entree to go. What I received was both meals packed for takeout without clarification or apology. The baked potato meant to accompany the catfish--ordered with butter and cheese--was served plain, still wrapped in foil, uncut and unseasoned. When I asked for a to-go drink I had ordered a Coke with my meal at the bar,I was handed a small, empty child's cup, implying I should pour the drink I had into the empty cup myself. No Togo drink was offered even though they had converted my bar entree to a Togo. Not exactly service with a smile. It's not about expecting fine dining from a casual chain--it's about getting the order right, preparing sides as requested, and treating customers with a bit of care. This location in Tomball used to be our go to every weekend. I don't know what happened but twice in the last two months we have had terrible experiences with dine in and pickup. We made the mistake of making a to go order on Easter. They were super busy with dine in and to go so I understand to some degree. We waited 45 minutes after our pick up time then got home to find we got the totally wrong order. We did receive a full refund but unfortunately we ordered chicken and shrimp but received all beef items. Saturday for dine in we waited 35 minutes for our meal and one order of a filet was an overcooked sirloin. They took it back and we waited another 30 minutes for a filet and got it to go. No offer to comp for the inconvenience. Loaded mash potatoes used to have all the toppings, now just a slab of cheese and some bacon bits for an extra 1.25! ONE this place always has a wait time! We did the mobile Waitlist and sat on our car for 45+min! It's a Friday night was 6:45pm when we checked in to wait! So thought we'd go here for something different and since it's been awhile since I've gone here. So I normally get the Chicken Friend Chicken or the Chicken Fried Sirloin.. but today I thought let's be spontaneous and try their steak and ribs out. Well everyone knows how good their rolls are and those will continue to be good especially with their cinnamon butter. Had to limit myself to only two rolls to save room for the rest of the food lol! The Texas Combo - while the filet and ribs were cooked very well. I wish their plating was a little bit more photogenic? The baked potato was a little basic for being loaded. A little over cooked with a dab of bacon, cheese, and butter. That was it I had to ask for some more butter to compliment it more. The corn was ok nothing special. Our server was attentive and came by to ask how everything was every once in a while. He seemed unenthusiastic to be there but did the job as needed to be done. On this particular day we went the restaurant had signs posted up that they were closing early. It was pretty busy for a Sunday night and we waited for about 25min for a table of two. First of all, Jessica, working the bar, has to be one of the most professional servers in the industry. Food is good. Environment and service is not where it should be. There were 5 different times when the staff huddled to sing happy birthday...it's very distracting from everyone else's dining experience. The service was slow. Somehow our appetizer was delivered several minutes ahead of drinks. All 4 of us ran out of our drinks at least twice each. Our waiter was a newer waiter, yet leadership apparently gave him a section that was the furthest from the kitchen. We had the very very far corner booth. I could go on with other issues. We have dined here 4 times in past 2 months (usually around $140 per visit) and we could have accepted all of the above but the repeated birthday singing is what put it over the top for us....we won't be coming back as long as the yelling of "Happy Birthday" is still happening. They just advertised on Houston Life for their New Year's Eve special on Friday 12/27. It was $89.00 for dinner for two. We stopped in to pay for the meal to make it quicker on 12/31 for pickup. The mgr stated that they DO NOT offer any specials as shown on TV. She was very matter of fact and could care less that we were now inconvenienced- told my husband he could go call all their other locations to find a location to assist up.
