My son has been raving about Pedroso's for the last year, and I fully took the plunge. Our delivery order was a large salami, arugula, pie which was delicious. The crust was nice and crispy, and the sauce was the real gem. The taste was fresh and slightly acidic. I really enjoyed that pie. Having grown up in Philly it was surprising to see cannoli's and Stromboli on the menu. How could I resist. Both were excellent and highly recommended. Maybe an in person visit for my next feast. Awesome place not just for their pizza but they sandwiches! After a long hike, came here for their Italian sandwich. This thing was HEAVY! Full of meat, cheese, and veggies it was so delicious and the bread was nice and fluffy. It was filling and had to be eaten in portions. Came back the next day for their pizza and was definitely not disappointed! Thin and crisp the way I like it they also have a slice of the day which was a NJ style which was even thinner! Like, not love. Lala's is one of our favorite bars in Austin, and we've heard nothing but good things about Pedroso's, so when we had a kid-free night here last weekend, we decided to finally check it out. Dishes came out in waves, which was kind of annoying, and everything was already boxed up even though we said that we would be dining in. Most of everything is really good. The arugula salad had a good amount of greens and we liked the goat cheese with red onion and pork. Our dressing wasn't emulsified, so that wasn't great, but no matter. Our pizza--a plain slice and a pepperoni sicilian--were delicious, but we wouldn't say that it's any better than the other boutique pizza places in town like Allday, etc. Like, this is just part of the Good Austin Pizza club--nothing to die for! We loved the meatballs, but as is trendy nowadays, they came out in a massive pool of sauce, and yet there is no bread provided to sop it up with! What is up with this new trend?! Finally, the birthday cake cannoli was sort of ho-hum, but again, no complaints, Bottom line: good food at a decent price and we had a nice time at a local classic, but we don't really understand the hype or think that Pedroso's is worth going out of the way for. How could not know that Pedroso's existed right on Burnet? I must have driven by their trailer a gazillion times. But now they are in our pizza rotation. If you enjoy a thick pizza pie this is the place for you. I prefer thin-crust fold-up slices but I have to admit that their thick Sicilian and Detroit pies are very good. We ordered 3 pies, and yes there were more than 2 eating. First up the Sicilian style pie and it brought back childhood memories. This pie was loaded with pecorino cheese, oregano, and garlic. Batting second the Margherita pie. This was a but well-done pie with tomato sauce, basil, mozzarella, and pecorino cheese. Last but not least was Nonna's Favorite. This is a meat lover pie with genoa salami. Italian sausage, ricotta (yes ricotta), and basil, mozzarella, and pecorino cheese. Since these thick pies are a carb loader's dream you can't eat a lot of slices so we cut them in half and shared. Best of all the next day a breakfast slice was off da charts! Fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked pies, and a friendly staff equal an easy 5-star review. Pro tip: If you need to wait have a cold brew at the adjacent Night Owl bar. read more

Tonight we went to Pedrosa's for the first time. We had the 16 inch tomato pizza with mozzarella and pepperoni. It's Saturday night and so they were quite busy. We waited in the adjoining bar lala's. The two businesses are symbiotic. Both of them are fabulous and this was as good as pizza as you'll have. I don't know what someone would try and start a new pizza spot in Austin. This place is a Mecca of fantastic pizza options. Within a 2 mile radius of this place alone, you have some of the best spots in the whole city. Yet Pedroso's decided to do it anyway. And I sure am happy they did. This place is incredible. It's a very small nondescript food truck outside a bar that some how masted the perfect pizza. They don't need the massive 200 year old oven to do it either. Just two guys serving up a slice of pizza that is perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They offer fresh made or slices. Even though we ordered a slice of the day, it still tasted as if it was made to order. To top it all off, this is probably one of the last spots where you can walk out after all said and done with a lunch that will surely fill you up and drink for under $12. Both were suuuuuper tasty and fresh. I personally preferred the NY style with the ricotta. The grandma style one we got had pepperoni and honey, which was good, too. Just a little thick for my taste. Holy Crap. Easy... EASY 5 stars from me. Seriously some of the best pizza I've had in this town in quite some time. Definitely best grandma-style pie I've ever had. I wish they were open late for slices but hey, every business gets to set their rules, right? Last pizza we got was the double pep and pep. Hats off to them for the serrano and banana peppers. The pizza crust was thick, crispy on the outside, doughy(cooked), bread like. The sauce had a good flavorful taste. My criticism would be, it needed more cheese and toppings. It is a little pricey. I usually patronize a long established Austin Pizza Business, and they put much more cheese and toppings on, for about the same price. Yes. From a Jersey girl who just grew up with good pizza. Absolutely. The cheese just came out when we got there and it was just amazing sauce, crust, and the cheese it was perfect. We also got a pepperoni granny style which was very different from a Sicilian for me in a good way! I liked, and the margarita was also good but the cheese was just amazing!!! The store was small and had outdoor seating which was a like Christmas decked for the holidays which made it a nice atmosphere for the outdoor seating!
