Not much has changed at this location. I've looked back at some of these reviews and as far back as almost 2 years ago people had the same complaints I have today. Line formation is NOT CLEARLY MARKED. Cashier saw me waiting and a line forming behind me, she looked right at me, and just let me stand there. People were "hanging out" along the area where I later learned the line was supposed to be, just talking and someone even cut in front of them to order. It was VERY confusing. Then when the barista finally tells me and everyone else where the line really was, I made a mention that it was confusing and a customer has her nerve to say something....all the while she was too busy talking to notice when a guy cut in front of her. I couldn't assume she was in line and I didn't want to interrupt her conversation because they were too busy hootin & hollerin so why interrupt the fun?? Anyway, the pink haired cashier did not want to be there and seemed very flustered. Her customer tried to check-in (the person she was actually helping) and she brushed them off because she wanted to make sure someone got their pastry....mind you they had already called out the pastry name several times to no answer....all in all I'd rather not come back to this location. Get it together Peet's or else they'll be saying you're the next Starbucks..... read more

I have bought my beans here, the last 5years. I've never been disappointed. Sometimes I'm ready for a change. I tell them the beans I've been buying. They make a recommendation. I've never been disappointed. They know their beans & flavors. They are also highly professional in their customer service as well as personable. I really like this Peet's. read more

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in town. I ordered a chai tea latte and received it in less than 5 mins. The staff are very nice. I also got a croissant which was also really good but could have been warmed up a little more. For the most part I loved it! read more

I'm not a regular here, so I can't speak to their prep of individual drinks, but I've ordered coffee/tea for two large parties and the service was great. The staff was impressively friendly and helpful, particularly Darius. Not related to the quality of this Peet's, but be careful, the parking lot is a little nutty...or rather, drivers seem to be challenged by the layout of the parking lot. read more

Well.. Peet's coffee is always good.. No doubt about that.. But this review is for their wonderful staff who kept the kindness of either their team or a guest who found my husband's wallet. He dropped it while he was there and 3 hours later, my husband got his wallet back with the $100 bill still inside. Thank you for their honesty and integrity :)... This is the closest Peets in my neighborhood but the quality of the service and the coffee has been in a downward spiral. I have been a loyal customer for ten years but find I must go elsewhere based on a really rude barrista who seemingly has no clue about customer service. Everyone should be treated well but every day regulars of over a decade should definitely catch a break. Coffee lovers, be warned. A mediocre latte served up with a side of smarm isn't worth your money or time. read more

The really cute guys who worked here weren't fakely friendly and made me feel like they were actually just trying to serve me coffee. AND they made my complex drink order absolutely perfect. This Peets is also always less crowded than Solano Ave Peets, and they have a parking lot. It's really faster to drive a little farther to get my coffee here before hitting the 880 for a long drive. Peet's is awesome sauce! It's the only place where I can depend on a perfect decaf iced latte. HATE this parking lot (I always park in the car wash/Norge Cleaners lot). And the panhandlers need to be pointed to the 'no solicitation' signs... but whatever. I love it. read more

It's time for a change. Yesterday I bought a pound of substandard Arabian Mocha Java. I will have to bring it back. Maybe I'll just get a refund and go to Philz or BlueBottle in the neighborhood and be done with Peet's roasted beans, spend my $1000 a year for beans elsewhere. They were interesting 20 years ago, then they went public, now they are private again but they have 1/2 or less as many bean blends as they used to, the Holiday Blend used to be something I was excited about and would bring home to Ohio and Jersey as gifts on Thanksgiving. It has sucked for a few years now. The only thing that is consistently good anymore is their French Roast. Yet my loyalty is not completely broken: If I ever need a LB of coffee and the only thing that's open is a supermarket, then it's going to be Peet's. At an airport, it's not going to be Starbucks if there is a Peet's. My office buys Peet's French Roast and that's better than going to a corner coffee shop. read more

If you have a problem with Peet's (e.g., weak coffee), I suggest calling their corporate office and telling them about it. Trust me, you will be rewarded for doing so. I am a Peet's shareholder and have been tracking their business ethics for several years. All indications are that Peet's is honestly concerned about the quality of their products and customer service. read more

Beware! Cars are regularly broken into in the parking lot. Do NOT leave anything of value in your car- not even for one minute. You are guaranteed to be sorry. It's a shame this problem has gone on so long. I personally know of 4 people who have had their front window smashed and items stolen from their vehicle while they were in Peet's. Management needs to put up extra large warning signs in the lot. Not fair to the customers to not warn them that this is a frequent problem. read more

Peets coffees are better than Starbucks but sometimes waiting to get a coffee takes too long...but I guess it is the price (waiting) we pay when something good becomes really popular. It be nice if they had drive thru windows. read more

I love Peet's, and have never had a problem with any of them, including this one in El Cerrito. Their coffee is always brewed fresh, and nothing beats its potent yet smooth taste. Peet's offers a wonderful selection of coffee beans from around the world; I especially like the dark roast beans. The atmosphere in this Peet's is warmer and friendlier than many others that I've been to, and the pastries are very good, but a bit pricey. I remain a loyal Peet's customer. Starbucks doesn't even come close. read more
