SO for the past 2-3years now, Peets offer "cooler teas" during the spring/summer. Mind you this is the only time I really deal with them because there aren't too many accessible like Starbucks on every other corner if not 2 on the same block. But I will say that Peets have better coffee but Starbucks is more convenient. So I was going for my weekly Jasmine lime cooler fix...even more so because I had a coupon (Thanks Gwen) for a $1 any drink for one day only. I go to Peets and get a large Jasmine Lime cooler....it's all iced up grab a straw, hop in the car take a sip. PAUSE, this is not it. I politely go back in and say umm this isn't what I asked for, it's not sweet at all (it comes sweetened ready to drink). The girl, looks at me all funny and very matter of factly, "yes it is!" Umm no lady I've been getting these for a while now, and when I look at it more it's not even the same color!! This is just regular unsweetened ice tea. Her little sidekick decided to sniff and then sip the tea....ewww no that's not it. DUH!!!! I should know I've been getting these for a while now..... Well it's gonna take 5 minutes to make...I'll wait, it's worth the wait! So they make up a fresh batch and give me a comp card for a free drink on my next visit...guess what I'm gonna get????? :) read more

Peets has changed their supplier on the vegan cookies across all their stores - now they just have the chocolate chip and the oatmeal raisin vegan cookies. I miss the vegan ginger cookie. But the new vegan chocolate chip is extra delicious. No one would know it is vegan! read more

I prefer this Peet's over the one in Castro Valley. The employees at this location are always friendly. I also like that the employees are very diverse not just in skin color but in personality and style! I have never had to wait excessively long for my drinks to be made, and the inside of the building is clean. The sugar, stir sticks, straws, lids, and cream table is always well stocked. read more

I love Peet's especially on a hot summer's day and they have mocha or coffee freddos to cool you off. I haven't been to downtown Hayward in a hot flash so it was nice to see the addition to this hustlin' and bustlin' street. read more

I'm so glad that Peet's is in Hayward. I do agree that seats are often filled. That's how great the need is for a Peet's in the area! Service is great. The barista actually forgot about my French Roast (due to so many people and few staff) so when I reminded her, she upgraded my drink to a medium and gave me a free coupon! Great calm environment to relax, have a nice convo with a friend, or to do some work. The drinks are great as always and parking is plenty. A nice escape from downtown Hayward's chaos! read more

08/24/14 11:37AM OK this morning I went to Peet's, A Street Hayward and ordered a small dry capp with an extra shot. As a matter of fact I went into the same Peet's location yesterday afternoon and ordered the exact same drink and it was made exactly how I ordered it. Well this morning I ordered the same drink and when my drink was served it was not dry to my liking, and definitely not the same as I ordered the day before. Well, first of all, the drink was served up on the counter as a cappuccino and not my name, the name I gave to the cashier. Second of all the drink was not dry as ordered. When I told the young lady who prepared the drink that it was not dry, she replied "that's not dry?". I said no it wasn't dry and dry means not much milk and she had replied "I know what dry is". She didn't ask if she could prepare it for me again or say anything like I can make it for you over. She just started making it again. OK fine. When she served the drink up again she just set it up on the counter and did not say one word. I picked up the drink and said Thank You. She did not respond at all, not one word and I know she heard me. I looked at her again and assertively repeated myself and said Thank You again. She looked at me and said "Oh okay". I'm sorry but this young lady had a serious attitude problem and I have never in all the years I have been buying Peet's coffee been treated so rudely. I have been patronizing Peet's probably longer than how old this young lady was. I have always been treated respectively and professionally by every other Peet's employee that I have come into contact with, but this young lady was just so rude. She needs better customer service as well as people skills. I don't know how she is regularly to other customers but this morning she was just plain rude. I spend too much money in Peet's to be treated so rudely by some little girl with a bad attitude and will consider not patronizing Peet's further if customer service continues this way. Again this young lady needs an attitude adjustment as well as better customer service and professionalism training. I really don't think Peet's wants to be represented by a rude unprofessional barista like her. Won't be back and may think twice about going to any Peet's again. Not worth it! Nice view of a park across the street. And the espresso's strong & bitter, which is how I like it. However, a hard-to-swallow bran muffin would surely have gone down more easily had it been warmed, but no microwave or toaster oven was anywhere in sight. read more

Peet's never lets me down! Their staff is always friendly and always attentive! Some of them make an effort to remember who you are and what drink you like too (for us regulars). Even though there's a Starbucks around the corner, Peet's is much better, with their fancy classical music playing in the background. I feel at home! I love the selection at Peet's. The seasonal drinks are good, but they also have something different than the mundane mocha. I can also appreciate the service from the baristas. Sometimes the baristas can be a little uptight at starbucks. read more

This isn't usually my favorite Peets to go to, but I stopped in this morning and was helped by Roxy. She had her hands full of supplies and stopped everything so that she could take my order, even without me asking. She didn't even ask me to wait for her to put everything down. I have about three Peet's stores within a close distance to my house before I go to work. And I gotta say, I'm a fan of this one. Little surprised that the people working there still don't know who I am, but that's understandable.. I don't go in Everyday, and when I go in I'm rather normal looking... yet, their still friendly! The wait time is quick, and the coffee hasn't been out ONCE EVER when I have gone in. I don't go to a coffee shop if I'm in a rush, but it's still nice to not have to wait for a freshly brewed coffee. Their timers are always ticking when I go in so I know they brew their coffee regularly. It's clean until that one person messes up the condiment bar which is going to happen no matter what the location is so I can't fault them for that. Lets see, how else can I praise their amazing behavior there. They rock, plain and simple. read more

Hats off to Peet's for venturing into Hayward to offer a better option over Starphuk's but could you hire a better staff per chance? I frequent this Peet's since it's convenient for my commute and every time I enter I feel like I've entered a cemetery. I am a Peet's addict and my favorite locations are Van Ness in SF and Emeryville @ The Market. On three occasions I've drove up at 8:45p.m. and the doors were locked and the cleanup was in process...problem is...they close at 9:00 p.m. The coffee is alright...they make my latte decently but the women that work there are dreadful. The only person that seemed to fit the Peet's employee mold is an African male that is friendly and can actually hold a short yet pleasant conversation. Fire the staff...hire some upbeat folks and everything will be A-OK. read more

Wifi is no longer free. They're cracking down and making sure you buy something first before giving you a wifi passcode. Staff is generally nice. My overall gripe with these places and Starbucks is the overpriced beverages and long lines. read more

This is my go to spot before work. It's rarely crowded and the staff is friendly. They don't have all the frappuccinos like Starbucks but they have Javivas that are the bomb. read more

I had never had peets coffee so I was very pleased when I came here. My friend and I shared a medium iced vanilla latte and a vegan chocolate chip cookie. Service was quick, drink was good, cookie wad good. I was happy. The location is good and the place was spacious and clean too. And extra star for having vegan snacks AND for them being delicious and tasting no different from regular cookies. read more

Peets is ok. The place is clean, service is fast and staff are attentive. Coffee was just average. The pastries are pretty decent however I'm still a Starbucks guy. I just wasn't wowed. I've had much better coffee at cafés on the East Coast. Call me a diva if you will but it's just alright. read more

Their coffee is definitely strong so it's good for the real coffee drinkers. I usually get the mocha or iced caramel latte. The latte was better last time, but when I visited recently it tasted sort of bland.. They messed up my order and remade me a new cup even though they were really busy so that was nice. They are very friendly here and willing to fix your order if something went amiss. More places should do this instead of giving attitude. Down side is this is a small shop so everyone can hear you if you're trying to catch up with friends here or you can't get a seat bc it's packed. read more

Loyal peets customer; thankfully I found this location 3 months ago as my commute changed and the c.v location is so disappointing. Not here with this great B street crew. I'm classically inclined when it comes to coffee, the rich delicious dark roasts of Peets. No room for me just elegant dark roast please. Very friendly crew here that learns so many of their regular customers names and drink orders, it's a rarity in this world and very much appreciated. They rotate their dark roast often which is also something I really like. Melanie is a rock star here ° thank you °give her a raise! Today I swapped names with Olivia as well (I always have seen her working hard, multi tasking) When inquiring about Ethiopian fancy she taught me something new, I could always request a press pot for around $3. This is my first time here and was not impressed with customer service. My husband and I were the only ones in line until 2 guys walked in. They took their order first before us. I dont even think they realized we were first but whatever. The lady thentook my order, walked away and didn't ask if we needed anything else. Cashier called us towards us by waiving her hand instead of saying Can I help the next person in line? No greeting or eye contact at all. What happened to this place. Been coming here since they opened and the quality of the drinks diminishes with each new manager. Apparently that doesn't matter anymore. The last time drinks were really good was when Arly and Vinh were here. Know one seems to know what they are doing anymore. It's getting really hard to spend five bucks a day on a coffee that you hope will be good. Seems like we need to start training or retraining these people on how to make a good coffee. When both managers don't make a good coffee at this location you can expect the rest of the staff to be just as crappy. read more

So today i visited this Peets location. My review is 2 stars because the customer service has gone way down hill. All the customers but one and I had gotten their drinks my son being a curious kid did nothing but stand at the counter where drinks get picked up, Resa the barista looked at him and with some what of an attitude told him that she would call him when his drink was ready. Now there is no one else waiting for drinks other then that lady and my son would have happily moved when her drink came up. Every Time i have come to this store this particular girl has an attitude and many more of the baristas that work here. What makes matters worse is im sure she is a shift lead. Ordered a black tie with coconut milk. They processed the order. Picked it up, they didn't add any milk. Asked for the coconut milk.
