I wanted to give 1 or 2 stars- but my experience is so mixed, I gave a 3 for the sake of the good experiences. But for the most part it is really too mixed This most recent time (on a Monday afternoon) I went in to get coffee instead of drive thru. The girl at the register was super nice and had good customer service. The girl that was making the drinks was a different story. Not only was one of my drinks made wrong, she forgot a part of my order. And I waited at the pick up counter to remind her of it and she legit ignored me. I stood there for a solid 5 minutes. I waited patiently and wanted to give her time to finish the other orders she was working on, but once she was finished she placed the new order on the counter called out the name and just turned from me. I said excuse me, I'm missing a something from my order and she legit just walked away and started a new one. My young daughter with me looked at up at me like "wow.... Is this for real". So even my 8 year old could tell the customer service was lacking with this person. End of story she never assisted me, another guy from the back came up and got the last piece of my order. So in all honestly I'd love to give a 1 star but those two other employees really helped their rating. The inside was nice- but I definitely had some reservations about using the milk that they have out at the coffee bar. It had legit lint on it. Ew. Also, the whipped cream almost had a mildew taste and smell to it? Almost cheese like. Maybe look into deep cleaning those machines? read more

Welcome to the neighborhood Peet's Coffee! On behalf of the entire Western Contra Costa community that stretches far and wide from the Carquinez Bridge to the Albany border, we sure do enjoy having a Peet's Coffee with a drive thru no less! Not to mention having a huge airy indoor space that's perfect for hanging out and working on one's laptop which can be done in person, once again, and having a decent if somewhat basic outdoor patio area that is at the very least filled with a number of clean chairs, tables and umbrellas. I have to admit that on my many journeys up Interstate 80 when I saw the huge electronic sign announcing a new shopping center with a Safeway store and Chase bank, what excited me the most was the new Peet's Coffee location that it was being announced. Of course there are additional locations in nearby Pinole and in El Cerrito, but both of those locations are old news, not to mention parking at both of those locations are insane, and neither have no drive thru for easy access. I credit the Peet's Coffee company for making the announcement of the grand opening date of this new location via email to everyone who signed up for their regular email newsletter or their Peet's app. The fact that they were giving away complimentary 1/2 pound of freshly roasted coffee beans with any beverage purchase with your order on their opening day only made me want to visit even more. Of course, since it was a Monday, I seriously had to consider whether it was worth it to drive all the way out to the new Hercules shopping center off the corner of Willow and Sycamore Avenues, which took years to get approved and build once and for all. But I thought in the times we are currently living, why not get in my car and drive all the way to Hercules and support a new franchise choosing to open a new and much needed location in an area that could certainly use it. As it turns out, by the time I got there on a Monday afternoon at 1 p.m., there was nothing to be worried about as the place was certainly busy with customers, employees and managers alike buzzing around. Plus, I was more than happy to see customers not only outside enjoying their coffee drinks on their outdoor patio, but sitting inside in an area with comfy chairs and tables that allowed it. The line on the first day didn't take too long and they had a bag of coffee beans both grounded and whole beans, your choice, of their Single Origin Nicaragua Las Hermanas Medium Roast. Anything that's free with a check-in I'm sold and the fact that this roast had a nice milk-chocolate sweetness along with nutty and brown sugar taste made it all worthwhile. In order to receive my bag of beans, I still had to order my beverage and although the menus inside this new location of Peet's has all of their menus on television screens, which makes ready super easy, for some reason these new menus don't feature their entire menu, of which I had to go to my Peet's app to see what I was interested in ordering. Although I think Peet's Coffee is rich with flavor, I am always down to order one of their Ice Blended Drinks, which also are called Javivas, and were originally called Frappes, when they first came out way back when. Their Blended Ice Chocolate Caramel Swirl with coffee topped with whipped cream is creamy and sweet delight. This is one just five drinks they have under the blended coffee drink section of their menu, they also have two blended iced tea drinks and three blended iced coffee-free caramel, all of which are perfect for coffee lovers and shake lovers alike. What's not so perfect is that through the app and the menu at Peet's substitutions and specialized orders are just not possible at this Peet's location. Perhaps because they're still new or perhaps because this is a company-wide mandate, at least through the app you cannot make your own drink with you're own choice of ingredients. At other coffee vendors and other locations of Peet's this seems to be a right passage to specialize one's order, especially when it comes to blended drinks. They do have a Members Only special menu on the Peet's app but there are no blended drinks on that app, and when asked the staff at the Hercules location said it's not allowed to blend an iced drink off that menu. Hopefully this will change with time and experience. What is great about this new location, is that Peet's is going all out to make sure loyal customers show up with extra drink discounts and special BOGO deals when you check in on your app during a set amount of days. I can't think of any other Peet's location doing this for your grand opening, which goes to show that Peet's truly committed to this new locations, and we the local citizens should thank them and their hard working crew how happy we are to see them here thriving in Hercules with our loyal customer satisfaction. read more

Peet's finally opened today in the city of Hercules! Went inside to take a peak of the interior and was pleasantly surprised by how spacious it is! Lots of space to order and a large waiting area. Tables are set out but are closed due to covid protocols at the moment. All staff was super friendly from the ordering and pick up stations. They sure were busy with the drive thru orders, in person orders, DoorDash, and mobile orders. But staff was moving fast and we didn't have to wait too long for our drinks. Can't wait to frequent Peet's in the new plaza. read more

The service with the checker was nice. Now the drink was really disappointing. I ordered a hot Mocha and a cold both are disgusting.. they Didn't have any sweet and not even a chocolate flavor .. This is the newest location in the area and I love it. I came, ordered my coffee and received it. The people were nice and welcoming and this place was clean! Spotless. Even the areas where people put their trash was cleaner than I've ever seen. The original location in Berkeley isn't this clean and the 4th street location, used to look like a pigsty next to it. But, in all honesty, I'd come here if in the area. It's quick off the freeway. However, I don't come to this area often, so I don't see myself coming by regularly. At least the Pinole location has a Trader Joe's so when I go there, I usually hit that location up for a coffee. read more

Please hire more staff, the wait is typically around 30 min if there are a couple of cars ahead. They must be understaffed. It never fails. Even if there isn't anyone ahead of me, it still takes them 10-15 min to make a mocha. They are constantly out of items listed on the menu. I was super excited that the Peet's shop has opened in my neighborhood. My partner and I went to buy our go to drinks and some treats. Then I saw a promotion on the Peet's app that they had and asked who looked like the store manager ( his name is Ben, I think) if I could redeem the 1/2 pound of coffee, which I saw him give to another customer prior to me, but he just said they had already given it to the first 500 customer. So I go into the app to read the offer in detail and not once in the offer did they say that they were only giving it to the first 500. The offer is in the photo which did not state only the first 500 will get this offer, but it did state that while supplies last. This is not about getting the free coffee beans, but the principle of equality to all and not limited to only others who fit the profile. I'm really disappointed with whoever this person thinks he is, but I suppose I did not qualify as a person who can get this promotion. I mean he can keep the 1/2 pound of coffee, I don't need it that much. Now for the other part of the store. The store is great and bustling, I liked the fact that they put real plants in this store, a monstera and a fiddle leaf ficus, which made it more homey and inviting. The other staff are very nice and friendly and super helpful. Our drinks were made within 5 minutes of them being ordered, even though the drive-thru super was busy. We ordered a brownie and a ham and cheese bowtie, and they are good quality. The drinks were made to perfection by the barista who was at the helm. Was disappointed at the level of litter and dirty tables. There were enough employees on Sunday 26th November around noon to deal with this. The place was quiet. I told them that one of the Restrooms had no toilet paper or paper seat covers. They told me to use the other bathroom, not quite the response I expected. Staff training needed here I think. But, we will continue to come, as it's a good stopping place for us on our drive home. read more

I received a wad of dark hair in the Caramel Macchiato coffee without special instructions yesterday when I was first in line at the drive-through. I gagged at the nursing station after I made this discovery halfway through the drink. Thank you for the refund I truthfully appreciate that for what it's worth. And I met a cute puppy when I came to collect it but I couldn't keep it so we are back to square one. Starbucks is right across the street in both directions anyway and I can't be bothered anymore with Peet's tea bags otherwise, insanely weak. The place is very spacious and nice inside. Drinks can be a real hit or miss. Management has always been a big mess. They never seem to keep track of how much they need in stock. So they are always out of everything. They go in and out of being short staffed which I can guess is from improper training. All the workers are high school or college level who don't seem to have any real supervision going on. I love Peets but with their prices rising and wait time I think I will pass until management gets things together. They've been open for almost a year but still don't have their marbles straight. read more

I really want to like this place because it's in Hercules and literally right down the street from me BUT their prices for the latte's are much more expensive then the other Peet's and other competing coffee businesses. If I don't want to drive to Pinole on lunch to get coffee then I'll come here as my last resort since the prices are high. Another reason I don't like this location is because the drive thru is the slowest! I can't stand how long it takes sometimes. I know they are new, but they should have stuff figured out by now and they don't. I just got a plain black coffee and it was luke warm. That should literally be the easiest order to never mess up. Hot coffee should be hot. Period. The espresso drinks have consistently been sub-par. The drive-thru is so slow because it takes them 5 minutes to make one food item and a coffee drink. Much better off going to any other coffee place in town. I gave stars because the crispy ham and swiss sandwich is exceptional. read more

If you would have asked me a week ago I would have give them a 5 star review but what happened today was beyond ridiculous. My wife and I have been going to another coffee shop for years but decided to make a switch because the service has been going down hill. We found this Peet's about 2 months ago and really liked it. Yesterday when we came in to order our coffees they had to be brewed. We waited and waited and finally I got back in line to check on them. The lady behind the counter was super nice and very apologetic because she never started the brewing. She handed my wife and I 2 free drink tickets (good for any drink any size). Today, my wife and I came in, my wife sat at a table like we usually do and I went up to order. I asked for 2 small coffees (as I always do, not a large $7 drink like I could have) and I handed the lady behind the counter the 2 tickets. She proceeds to to me that it is only 1 per customer. I said "there are 2 of us, my wife is right over there" and I pointed her out to the employee. She said she can only take one and the " if we want to use the other my wife would have to get in line." Please remember, I got these drink tickets because of their mistake, not mine. So I returned to the table after spending more than $20 on other items and had to have my 7 month pregnant wife stand in line for the coffee that they offered us. I'm not sure if we will return to this location. It's amazing how since the pandemic customer service has just gone down hill. read more

Great quality and product as usual from Peet's. Everyone was very professional. Took a while longer to get my Latte than I expected though. I chalk it up to staff getting up to speed and they have a drive thru. It was also Saturday morning and everyone was eager to experience the new Peet's. If there is two thing I would suggest for this location it is the dampening of sound and reworking the bar. I think they need two! The layout and flow can be improved With the people and granite and tile and glass this place can get noisy. Hopefully management can work on this. read more

I am really upset. I have been going to peets coffee for a long time and I always get the best tasting coffee and the best customer service.This morning however, I got the worst service ever. I went through the drive through thinking I would be able to get my coffee faster. Just to end up waiting in line for 15-20 minutes. I was patient and thought they were short staff, just to get to the window and see 6 staff members and 3 on their phones, showing each other videos. What got me even more mad is that I asked for a Hazelnut hot latte and the cup was half empty and it tasted like watered down drip coffee. There was no hazelnut flavor. I was to far away from the place to get a refund and ended throwing away the "coffee". They need to get their employees trained. read more

I've had great service and professionalism, excellent drinks. Lately, the last couple months, the drink I got a friend was half full for "room" when he didn't ask for room. Drive thru: my kid wasn't on, the medium hot drink spilled all over my arm and chest, lap. I pulled over to clean up, a complaint wouldn't have solved anything, no one takes accountability for their actions. Another day, my medium hot Havana that I always order, was half full and half foam. I pulled out of the drive thru and went inside to be told by a male working the counter- it was "actually made really well, I actually like the foam". Uhh, no, I've never had a half cup foam, the cup was noticeably lightweight and I'm not paying for foam. I used a stirrer to show the emptiness. The female barista remade it and it was perfect, thank you! Please don't try to talk someone into liking or believing something when it's not what they want. I was easy going, I said thank you etc, no attitude, you don't deserve the stress, but neither do your customers. Btw, I stopped going inside because the tables and store were not cleaned on several occasions. This HAS improved. read more

Pure garbage. Placed a mobile order which should be a quick pick up. However they make you wait in the drive thru to pick and there are 25 cars and a 20-30 min wait including people that are still trying to order. By the time I got the drink and food it was totally cold. read more
