Really good coffee and tea here. The tea selection is amazing and there's plenty to choose from. I love getting their teas (hot and iced) because it tastes fresher. I think they use loose tea leaves to brew their teas here? I'm not sure. I also feel like the coffee here is just more personal than what you get from Starbucks. You look behind the counter and can see the beans and the grinder...it's nice! One think about this location though is that the start of the line isn't apparent when you first walk in, especially if you come in on the side next to Veggie Grill. I've seen on more than one occasion people standing on the opposite end with confused expressions on their face as they accidentally cut in line because they were on the wrong end. Life is too short to drink inferior coffee. Although this shop gets busy with the student traffic, and parking can be challenging during peak hours, it's worth the stop. Good flavor. Great service. I'm a fan of Peet's, but this is not the best location ever. They take FOREVER to take your order and make your drink. Last time I was in there, I was waiting for someone to help me for about 5 minutes (there was no line) without my presence even being acknowledged when some cute Australian boy walks up to the counter. All of the sudden the other register (the one I was not in line for) was open and there was a girl to take his order. The girl taking his order and the girl making his drink both seemed to have crushes on him, so they stood there talking to him instead of doing their jobs. I get it. Abundance of Fresh Roasted Beans Awaits! I am fond of any coffee house that offers fresh roasted beans for sale. The variety of beans is wonderful!Jamaica Blue Mountain and Kona always seem to be available here. Not only can I have a pot of French press in the store, but I can get that same bean to go. The baristas are trained to pull a wonderful shot of espresso. The macchiato and latte beverages are masterfully prepared and well balanced. The bakery selections offer a wide selection for the hungry imbiber. Chocolate/Pumpkin bread is a personal favorite, but the scone choices are great as well. I love stopping in either before or after the movies and getting the caffeine fix I crave. The place is almost always busy, which in my book is a good thing. With a constant crowd, the products move and brews are fresh. Not all Peet's are created equal and I must say, this is a great store. Great place to study and great coffee at the same time! They have nice tables and chairs and the power outlets are very convenient. There are a couple of things, though, that in my opinion keep them from being a five-star establishment. One is that their free wifi is only lasts for an hour and if you want to renew your passcode for the internet, you have to get up and ask them for another code. I understand that they don't want people sitting there the whole day, everyday, getting free internet, but a 2 or 3 hour time limit is still reasonable and could easily be given. The last thing is that it gets cold in there! I need to bring a sweater when I'm studying in there even though its summer! Overall great place. read more

I like Peet's tea selection. I'm trying to make my way through their entire list of loose leaf teas and I'm not even half way through after 8 visits. So far, each tea I've had has its own unique flavor. They're not just fancy names attached to random tea leaves. Each of the teas actually has a unique aroma and taste, some more robust than others. How much does a cup of legit loose leaf tea cost me here? $2.00 That's pretty damn good for a real cup of tea and not the watered down tea bag embarrassment offered at Starbucks. My main grievances are specific to this location: 1. It's difficult to find comfortable seating next to an outlet when I want to come here to study 2. Free internet for only an hour? Similar to the other chains located in the OC. I am definitely a fan of this peet's. I prefer this over starbucks anyday since the fact that you can actually taste the coffee and it is so relatively close to where I work. Sometimes seating can be a pain since it is located right across the street to the university. So you'll get more then 80% of college kids taking the tables and only about 40% of them doing actual work while the other 40% sit on their computers and type on their phones. That being said, I love this place. Their latte's are always strong and always good. They even have wifi for those of you who do manage to find a seat. Don't usually write reviews, but I decided to check this place out. I'm a UCI student, and I usually go to Starbucks.. But I hear Peet's had a Japanese-style Maccha Latte, and I just HAD to try it out! Honestly, did not disspoint at all. For someone used to the Japanese flavor, the strong and bitter (yet delicious) taste of high-quality matcha power is SO important. And the flavor came through at Peet's! Thank you. I had no problems with the service (it was fast), the cafe atmosphere was nice (altough there were not tables left), the couch seats were really comfy! My only problem was the room was pretty cold! The staff at this Peet's Coffee are incredibly friendly! I know that even when I go in there first thing in the morning, looking like death, that I will still get a smile. They always get my order perfect (I am allergic to dairy, so make alterations) and it is always just a few minutes. 1st review on this account which was created for my students to practice their English. Since I'm their teacher, I'll go first. I take my students here A LOT for coffee. Normally, I pick up the tab because of some penalty for being late or having my phone go off in class or something. I enjoy it. The coffee here is mediocre at best but the service is fast and ALWAYS FRIENDLY. I don't particularly enjoy the beans here but the teas are pretty good and it's a nice place to sit (when you're able to find an empty seat). We don't have Peet's locations anywhere close to where I live and I'm a huge coffee fanatic, so I was excited to try it one day when we were shopping nearby. It was just okay. My drink was fine. Nothing amazing but not bad either. Employees were definitely not friendly, but not the rudest I've ever experienced. They acted like it was a bother to actually have to speak to a customer. I probably wouldn't go back unless it was the only coffee place around, but there are ALWAYS other options for coffee. It would serve them well to remember that. read more

This Peets Coffee has a nice chill atmosphere. Drinks are top of the line and the price is good. Not much food but what little they do have is quality just like their drinks. Whatever your poison is Tea or Coffee, you will find a drink here that works for you. Personally I like their hot teas. I order a large and it always has two bags in it so it's never watered down. I have even taken it back after I was done and asked for a hot water refill. This does not cost anything as its water, but technically they could if they really wanted to. Seating can be a little crowed at times, I mean you are near a college however there are plenty of seats outside. There are four really awesome leather chairs inside, so if you can score of those your golden! The place definitely caters to the techies, plenty of plugs to jack in your device and free wifi. Bonus, they are open till 12 Midnight on Friday and Saturday, how awesome is that? As awesome as the staff that works there, seriously they must get people from the factory of awesome because they all are just top notch, friendly, helpful and extremely courteous. Very rude cashier. Standing in line behind the person ordering. Asian guy just steps right in front of me and starts ordering. I call him out saying he needs to get back in line. He keeps saying sorry and continues ordering. The cashier, not only doesn't honor my place in line but rudely tells me that the line starts on the right. I'm like, I was behind the last person. Peet's coffee has quickly become one of my family's favorite gormet coffee shops. The experience at the Peet's near UC Irvine certainly exemplifies why. The crew in this shop are friendly, quick at the bar and attentive to allergies. The barista Daisy is superb in her memory of repeat customers and making sure each drink has that unique Peet's aroma without the burnt finish sometimes experienced with espresso beverages.
