New to the Peet's Coffee's community and been coming back more often but feeling hesitant due to the what seems to be micro-aggression from management. Instead of being helpful, they came over to micromanage the situation that was already handled by the staff and assumed the worse intentions. Can't help but feel if this treatment would be the same to Caucasian males which seem like the majority of the customers there. Not sure how this can be reprimanded since it's coming from management unfortunately. The stars are purely for the baristas since they were pretty friendly, understanding, and some of their drinks were not bad in the beginning. read more

This is my favorite coffee chain, and the Laguna Niguel store in Ocean Ranch shopping center is my very favorite! They are all so chill and friendly there. I went here the other day because I needed to get some work done. The customer service is top notch. I wasn't sure which drink to get. The cashier gave me a great recommendation. He even said if I didn't like it, he would make me another one. We were sitting down in the lobby and they gave us a sample of the turkey sandwich which was a great sandwich. Been coming here for 20+ years and love the coffee! However, I must point out a severe lack of training by management. Today, I was waiting in line and watched the server (gender and name purposely withheld) wipe the hair from the face numerous times and then proceed to pour coffee and apply the cup lid onto the coffee cup with the same hand. I can't believe I had never been here before! Someone gave me a Peet's gift card so I decided to come with my siblings to try them out. I ordered the coconut black tie and it was delicious! The following information was gathered from Wiki and I was pretty happy to share with y'all! Diedrich Coffee is a coffee company based in Irvine, CA. Its first coffee house in Orange County, California, was opened in 1972. It owns the American mall-based stores for Gloria Jean's Coffees. In Oregon, it previously ran Coffee People until nearly every location was bought and closed or converted into a Starbucks (Diedrich retained ownership of the Coffee People locations inside the Portland International Airport.) The history of the company started with Charlotte Diedrich inheriting a coffee plantation in Costa Rica in 1916. Her son, Carl Diedrich joined the business in 1946 and purchased a coffee plantation in Antigua, Guatemala, in 1966. The first coffeehouse, a roastery, opened in Newport Beach in 1972. Came here on September 15th before my 9am class. I ordered my two HOT matcha lattes through the app at 9:20am to be picked up 10 minutes later as per the app. I came at 9:40am and waited another 10 minutes before my *iced* drinks were ready. By that point, I was already late to class and frustrated. The line was huge, needs to hire more people! Update: came here to work on homework, usually I go to the Peet's in Aliso since the last incident but this one was closer to me. The ambiance here is loud on a couple of occasions: 1) I understand employees connecting with one another but screams were heard 2) unpeaceful music being played. I have to write a post about my favorite coffee shop because they need to get back on their game. Peet's number one coffee blend is Major Dickson's dark roast. The last few times I've been in this store, they have not had it available (for daily drip). This morning, after flying 3,000 miles last night, the plane being 1 hour late, the 405 being being closed at Warner, and basically nothing open in Dana Point, guess what I was really looking forward to this morning? Yes, a nice hot cup of rich, dark roast from Peet's. They don't have ANY dark roast available this morning. I had to substitute a cafe Americano. The new manager Guy makes me not want to come back; whether it be the lack of acknowledgment or the horrid facial remark when I, or a family member, come in is very unprofessional. And it's not just the customers encountered by Guy, no! It's also how he treats certain employees-- no wonder so many are leaving!! Ever since I've had Peet's Havana Cappuccino, I've been coming back for the same. This time around, we stopped at this Laguna Niguel location while en route to a SD excursion. We parked in the shopping plaza, and while it was packed, we managed to find a spot. The inside of this place is spacious and clean. Friendly baristas took our order and whipped up our drinks in a short amount of time. The drinks were great, as expected. Although there are no restrooms in this coffee shop, there are restrooms in the same building. The place was great, I'd recommend it as an option. read more

With the recent shift in management, from someone that knows and cares about not only the coffee, but also cares about people (staff and customers), to someone that now appears not to care about any if this, the experience our community has enjoyed for years has unfortunately deteriorated dramatically. The hours are limited. Staff aren't trained properly. Wait times are long. Drinks aren't made properly. Management has attitude. Peets Coffee on Golden Lantern has always been our go to location. But, unfortunately the management must refuse to add staff. The wait today was over 20 minutes for a drip coffee and latte. There was only 1 Barista on the Coffee bar to make drinks. People were annoyed. The batista finally called out the number of orders he had to make. We were 12 deep. Absolutely unacceptable. Making this experience worse was the fact that this used to be one of the most efficient and relaxing locations. Jordan, Dimitri, and Liz make the BEST drinks and are the BEST baristas!!! The key that Peet's gets is 130 degrees F (55 degrees C) for almond milk. Nothing worst than drinking burnt liquid almonds and that's what you get as soon as the milk passes the 135-140 degrees and so many places serve burnt almond milk read more

What I do love at Peet's is the service, menu and place itself. Cozy with plenty of seating outside as well and the drinks came out quickly. What I don't like is their coffee which is a shame. My mocha was bitter and just very off-putting in taste. The caramel better, but being a fan of mocha, both the hot and blended mocha just did not do it for me and I would probably not bother to return again. read more

Located in the Trader Joe's shopping center near Cinepolis is a great and more consistently good alternative to Starbucks in the next center over. They have a small, but cute courtyard for outdoor seating in addition to the handful of tables inside. The workers have always been pleasant and service oriented and my vanilla latte is never bitter. :) read more

The baristas want to make sure that you are happy with your beverage, and if your not, they will make it over again for you. I like my lattes made with almond milk, a choice you have here, and not offered at other coffee places. The place is clean and creamers are always available at a clean counter. Peet's is the expert on coffee in my book. Every drink is crafted to perfection and the staff is trained do pull the perfect shot of espresso. The mocha is not too sweet and you can actually taste the coffee. This location is in an entertainment center with restaurants, movie theatres, Trader Joe's, and fro-yo. Bathrooms are in the common area, not inside the café. The bottom line is, this is a Peet's and it's good. The staff at this location could afford to be more inspired and care more about their customer interactions. But I don't really care that the barista and cashier have dull affects. As long as I get a good quality product (and that's always the case here), I'm a happy camper. read more
