Coffee at Peet's is so much better than Starbucks. Do wish the mobile app didn't have so many glitches.

I ordered a pound of flat-bottom ground coffee beans and an iced Americano with whole milk. The beans were given to me, but they were not ground. I waited for my Americano order. Everyone else got their order as I waited. After they had all left, the barista asked if there were anything else. I had to inform her that she hadn't made my Americano order yet..iced, decaf. So, she started on it. But it was hot, not iced. She had to remake it to what I ordered. My husband and I used to come here every morning for years because of the quality of the coffee and the outstanding attention to detail. But for the past year, it seems as though our orders always have something incorrect. The only reason I gave two stars is 1) because we love Peet's coffee, and 2) when Mac or Christine is there, our order is always perfect. So sad that the place has gone so downhill. read more

Hmmm...another missing review. We used to frequent this location of Peet's Coffee when we used to live in the area. My wife's favorite coffee shop since she is from the East Bay. Inside and outside seating options. Most people inside are on laptops. One unisex restroom. My go to drink is usually The Black Tie: layered sweetened condensed milk, cold Brew ice coffee, chicory infused simple syrup, and a float of half & half. read more

I was in the area and remembered that I still have a balance on a gift card that my husband had previously given me. I walked in and the place wasn't busy. I ordered an iced medium coconut black tie, paid and walked to the side to wait for my drink. Roughly 5 min later, I heard a barista state the name of the drink but the size was larger than I had expected. I didn't think the drink was mine but asked him anyways. He basically said he made a mistake and thought I had ordered a large. Then he said, "Consider it as a free upgrade." Who doesn't love a free upgrade? The drink was perfectly sweetened and the store was clean. Parking is plentiful. read more

I have an issue with how they take priority for mobile orders. I went into Peet's to get my latte, as it was a spontaneous decision before going to Safeway. Waited for my order for almost 10 minutes while I watched mobile order, after mobile order get made and picked up. Are you discouraging in person ordering? Discouraging people coming to your location? You should rethink how you're prioritizing your orders, as you're discouraging the customers that actually want to support your location by coming and ordering in person. read more

Stopped by on Monday afternoon, and waited in line for a bit, which is unfortunate since there was only one person in front of me yet three employees. I eventually was helped, and ordered an iced mocha with extra mocha, and a chicken and waffles sandwich. The beverage was great, super chocolatey flavor as requested that balanced well with the coffee. The sandwich was okay, the chicken certainly well seasoned as advertised but it had the look and consistency of a breakfast sausage patty and the taste was a little different than I'm used to for chicken. The bacon was probably unnecessary, especially since it doesn't taste as good when it's not freshly cooked. The waffle was slightly crisp on the outside which I liked. Overall the sandwich wasn't bad, but I only got it cuz they didn't offer any banana nut bread, which I would have preferred. read more

My sister and I were in need of some fuel prior to our stroll with my daughter. Since we were in the area, the decision to stop by Peet's was a no brainer. Made our purchases via Peet's coffee app for an iced Havana cappuccino & an iced white mocha. Our drinks were prepared super fast and my visit couldn't have taken more than 2 minutes!! While the Havana cappuccino tasted great the white mocha tasted extra bitter as if the shot of espresso had been sitting out too long. It was obviously "dead" which ruined the entire drink. Believe me people, I know what I'm talking about because I too was a barista @ one point in time... Beyond the issue with our burnt, bitter tasting white mocha, the "iced" aspect wasn't icy at all. Both beverages had a few floating cubes and was pretty much room temperature. I wouldn't hesitate to come back but I'll make the request for extra extra ice the next time I'm in the mood for anything cold. 3 stars. read more

Totally confusing set up! For mobile order pick up you have to go around the corner and open a door to pick up your drink. But for in person orders you go through the front door to pick up your drink. The mobile order came out late and they couldn't figure out if they should organize by first name or last name. They really should get their system right. "Jack" or my last name "R.." neither letters should be in the "T-Z" alphabet last I checked the alphabet. I'm sure even a 3rd grader could get this right. My flat white wasn't very good (lukewarm nd bitter, probably had the shot sitting their awhile) and I feel they need to step up their game. 2 stars for waiting for my drink past the pick up mobile time by 7 minutes, them not making the mobile pickup area clear, not having a good coffee, and then searching for my drink in their confusing alphabet soup! read more

My ABSOLUTE favorite coffee shop!! Oh Peets I love you so much! I always come here for my iced caramel macchiato and they make it perfect every time. I absolutely love this location because every single barista is super friendly and sweet. They make great customer connection with everyone and you just feel good going in there and coming out with great coffee. I'm not a regular coffee drinker so I haven't been to Peet's much, but I had a free drink for my birthday earlier this year and wanted to use it up. I used my phone app to order a peppermint mocha in the large size, and then walked to the store. I arrived long after the 3-8 minute anticipated wait time, so I don't know if it was completed in that time, but I did get what I ordered. The store is currently set up so that you wouldn't have to go in. One of the doors is open so that you can order behind a transparent barrier, and there is a display of their various baked goods and prices to the left. You would also pick up an at-store order at this door. Then, if you go around the side of the store, there's another door where you would pick up mobile orders. They have the orders organized in alphabetical sections by name. I appreciate this setup since the Peet's and Starbucks I've seen in my city, Berkeley, have the stores set up in a way that you would have to go inside to order and potentially be putting the workers inside at more risk. The peppermint mocha was pretty good, it didn't have too heavy a coffee taste - I'm very sensitive to bitter tastes - while definitely having the chocolate and mint flavor that I anticipated. The only adjustment I had made compared to the default settings was to have light foam. It does put into perspective how pricey coffee is though, since it would've been $6.05 for what didn't occur to me as a very large size. I didn't take a picture, since I figured it didn't look very appetizing when there was a little bit of the drink that had splashed out onto the lid. I ordered the small hot cocoa and the banana bread to share with my sister. There was a mix-up in the order when they thought that we had ordered a sandwich instead of the banana bread. My favorite place for coffee, their Havana cappuccino is the greatest. However, the service we received today wasn't up to the mark. I ordered three Havana cappuccinos through the Peet's mobile app to pick up in store. Upon reaching the store, I noticed that the coffees weren't placed in the order-ahead section, so I thought it was still being made. After standing and waiting for a few minutes, I saw three coffee cups placed on the surface closer to the person preparing it. When I asked for my order and why the cups weren't placed in the order-ahead section, they mentioned having too many orders and no space on the order-ahead rack. I have never actually tried been to Peet's Coffee since I always prefer to buy food than drinks. I actually went there for the first time yesterday around 3PM just to try it out. Oh man, I have been missing out. The inside of the establishment is a casual yet classy place. I could see myself bringing my college work and studying at one of the tables for hours. I ordered a large latte and it was already prepared in less than 2 minutes. It was actually really good but the Latte was definitely stronger than what I usually drink for coffee. It was my first time drinking something from Peet's Coffee and I was feeling the power of the Peet's for a while. Like when I finished the latte, I could feel my body still reacting to how strong it is. Who knew coffee could be so delicious yet so firm. The staff were all super friendly people, they all had unique personalities and I found myself engaging in decent conversation. Used to frequent this establishment almost daily every right and early morning! Haven't been here in months, and was hoping the service has gotten better...2 stars later apparently not. Is it tough to make a drink the way the customer asks for? The young lady (whom I have had make drinks before) with many tattoos on her, definitely made it seem ultra difficult to mix my drink with in a separate cup. The cashier who took my order was really friendly and gave me recommendations on what to order based on my usual order at Starbucks.
