Came here recently for a Black Tie and was disappointed. It was more milk than coffee. I also got the pistachio pastry and that one was just ok. A lot more bready than other pistachio croissants. I usually like Peet's coffee - even though parking can be tricky in this location - so I would come back and try again in case it was just a one-off. Service is good here. On our way back from picking up some Acme bread, I placed an online order for a latte and drip coffee at this Peet's. Order wasn't ready when I got there but was on point with the time originally quoted on the app. Service was friendly as Peet's employees always are. This location is about the same size as others I've been to and looks to be a popular place to work for or catch-up with a friend. It was clean and well-kept. On 3/29 at 5:25, I came in with my mother and the 3 female workers were not welcoming & were annoyed we came even through they close at 6. Our drinks were made wrong & my mother asked the barista instead of remaking it can you just add chocolate we just felt uncomfortable & unwelcome. She gave my mother attitude about it. I love the natural lighting that comes into this Peet's coffee. The service is pretty quick as well. However, many baristas have favorites and regulars which result in different treatment. I wasn't aware my drink was ready because I hadn't heard my name and the barista had been calling out "mobile for [name]" "order for [name]." Turns out she was only calling out certain people's names while my drink was sitting on the counter waiting for me to pick it up. If you're going to call out names, call out everyone's name because it sends a signal that people only need to listen to get their drink. read more

One of 42 different coffees at Peet's called the Big Bang recommended by Shine, who was enthusiastic and awesome! Thank you, shine! Even though I like my coffee hot, the coffee can be too hot at times where I have to wait 5-10 for a little sip. I feel Peet's is underrated and has an edge on Starbucks on the coffee strength and flavor tip, if we're talking about an all black cup of coffee. Just how I like it. Haven't really explored Peet's on their speciality drinks though, so I can't speak on the comparison. Recommend the Big Bang for all my fellow black coffee drinkers! read more

Came in this morning to try the new Vegan Plant Based Breakfast sandwich. The gentleman behind the counter had a great personality and smile. Very friendly. I ordered the new 100% plant based breakfast sandwich and a small americano. Came to $10 The flavor of the sandwich was great, however the bagel is larger than the sausage, cheese and egg, so there are bites that are just the bagel. The cheese, the egg and the sausage patty are all plant based. Some places advertise plant based sandwich, but the cheese and egg are not plant based. They are at Peet's and it tasted great. The bagel is a thin everything bagel so it makes it much better to bite into. Parking can be a little tough as it is at the bottom of Grand Ave and parking is limited. If you have the app you can order ahead. I hope they keep perfecting this sandwich by adapting the size so you get deliciousness in every bite! read more

If you live in the Bay Area, you're familiar with Peet's Coffee. There are plenty of location throughout the area. I've visited Peet's locations in Berkeley, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Half Moon Bay and several other spots nearby. In a strange sort of way, this might be a quintessential location -- a spot that is unpretentious as it is quirky. It serves all of the great coffee and tea drinks that we've come to admire (and I'm looking at you, Major Dickenson blend). However, it also serves a respectable assortment of coffeehouse bakery staples too. Yet, what makes this particular spot fun is the location. It is on the corner of two busy streets (the corner of Grand Avenue and Airport Blvd.) and located in a building that seems as old as South City. It's in a very cool old building (seemingly as old as South San Francisco itself). I often visit this part of South San Francisco...and I usually arrive by Caltrain. So, with the new train station FINALLY completed (a couple of years behind schedule of course), this has been my go-to spot for a cup of coffee or tea. This is great for those cold mornings in the area (even in the summer). The shop staff and baristas are nice too. They are patient with the noobs and generally offer some optimism on the side (free of charge). Consequently, they make a nice location even nicer. Well done! *You won't find much in terms of parking. There are spots on Grand Avenue; however, most require parking meters (limited to two hours). read more

Drank the black tie coffee for the first time. loved it, definitely coming back for more, but not regularly because of the sugar content.

The staff are all friendly and reminds me of cheers where "everybody knows your name." the service is great, especially between 6 and 7 AM when everybody's rushing to get to work, positive attitude, kind and always wearing a smile. Stopped by here to grab a cup of coffee only to find out that there was a recent update on the Peets App and like most folks could not remember my password as I was planning to pay for my drink and pastry with the App. The cashier offered to take care of the coffee as there have been others who were not aware of the software update. Came to this area for lunch and after pulling a late night, needed a caffeine hit before leaving, so I came to Peet's. I am not a big coffee person so I needed the terms explained to me. This wouldn't be an issue but the girl who took my order was less than gracious when I asked her to explain it. This is your job. After a long night, I don't need to deal with a snotty cashier who thinks it is below her to explain the menu items to customers. Not only that, when she double checked our order, she made a mistake reading off the screen and when I questioned it, she stomped her feet like a petulant child and looked at her coworkers as if I was troubling her. Let me repeat something, this is your job. The drinks came out fast, but with that type of attitude, I won't be back anytime soon. Lastly, don't know if she was being a b**** or if it really is a policy, but you aren't allowed to photograph the menu without buying a certain amount of coffee. Uh, OK. read more

GOOD STRONG COFFEE - GREAT SERVICE Too bad Peet's Coffee is not everywhere like Starbucks but with that said - I've been to this location of Peet's several times now and the service just gets better and better. Everyone that works here are always so nice and always so very helpful. It is good to know that a smile goes a long way. I have always preferred Peet's Coffee over Starbucks mainly because they really have good strong coffee . Plus, I feel their roasted beans just taste much more premium comparing it to Starbucks. I always buy their MAJOR DICKINSON which I believe to be one of their best coffee. It's just a personal preference and I don't speak for all. But sometimes the convenience of having thousands of Starbucks everywhere even in Asia - it's just unbeatable - "just saying!" This South San Francisco location also has a lot of seating space and the arrangement is not too close to each other so you can have a comfortable conversation and you don't have to yell across the room! It is well lit and has a cool low profile vibe to its ambiance. Most of the regulars here come in with their power suits so I'm guessing they probably work nearby. Foot traffic is consistent here and from what I've observed - their door opened about every 3-6 minutes during peak time. Not too shabby! Maybe their central location just off the 101 South highway -- exit Grand Ave keeps the ongoing to go foot traffic consistent. I've been to this PEETS for years. It's a lazy, slow moving, uncrowded location. Today, Sunday at around 2 p.m. I was walking into the store, my mask fell off so I was reattaching it. At this point I was a good 7 feet away from the counter and there was at most 1-2 other people to my far right on to the other side of the store. There are also 4 foot high plastic partitions so no one is face to face with a Peet's worker when ordering at the counter. As I approached, I was admonished for not having my mask firmly on BEFORE entering the store. Then I was admonished again by a female in the back, another worker. Then I was told a third time "the next time you come here you'll need to..." There will be no next time. These folks are clueless. You see stories everyday of people who don't have a mask or refuse to put one one. This was a case of a loose mask being tightened and I was treated in a tight-ass manner where, ironically, as I was paying, I was given the option to live a tip. I had already received a tip and this review is my tip to management. Learn how to treat others. Live and let live. If you are that fightened of getting Covid despite all the precautions put into place, best to stay home and hide under the bed. Frankly, I don't think this location, on a sleepy Sunday, can afford to alienate any of its customers and they just lost one. read more

Great coffee and parking. Everything else was meh at best. Tables had days of buildup on them. The staff was good at amusing themselves, the main barista guzzled an oj to the delight of his two female worker-companions. Meanwhile coffee spills on the tables that had a chance to dry. They do have a bathroom which is a vanishing feature in a lot of places these days. Why does this place that closes at 7:00pm shut down the expresso machine at 6:50pm. Just drove all the way across town to go here before hitting the freeway home. So disappointed. Closing at 7 doesn't mean you stop serving before closing. I do understand that employees want to get out as quickly as possible. This is a great location if you're waiting for someone at the Airport. Located 6 mins away from San Francisco Airport, they are located at Grants exit. Parking- just like everywhere else in San Francisco- could be very challenging. However this coffee shop is surrounded by different Italian eatery's so you could stop by for a meal as well. Service- True to their promise, the ladies are amazing, fast and efficient. Restroom- clean but don't forget to ask for the key. Coffee- it's Peets- so trust it to be strong. I ordered a white mocha... It was creamy , heavy and most definitely caffeinated... So glad I ventured here.. Now I know where to hang out that isn't going to cost $8 in parking an hour ..
