A young woman behind the counter was having a bad day and chose to take it out on me; she was unknowledgabe, snappy, impatient, lazy and generally discourteous. I knew it was going to be a bad experience the moment she whined to her manager that she was " ... too busy closing ..." to serve me, the only person in the order line. The manager did help; however, in his haste; he charged me for a half pound of espresso grind; when french press was clearly requested; and, when weighed at home; was only 0.443 pounds ... see image ... not the first, nor second failure of this type at this location. In summary, I am a loyal Peets customer who will continue to resupply favorite fresh specialty coffee beans or enjoy an occasional cappuccino at Peets; however, this particular store will be avoided in the future. No other Bay Area cafe chain compares to Peets for overall variety of eco-friendly sustainable quality controlled low-temperature-slow-roasted deep rich flavored beans, fresh brews and savory espressos. First time here at Peet Coffee on Lincoln Ave. It was super busy today, which I completely understand since it's the 4th of July. I had to wait a while to place my order. I was a little disappointed because they didn't have the ube cream foam for my drink, so it didn't taste as good as I expected. Thankfully, they gave me a refund without any problems. The staff were nice and friendly, and I appreciated their good customer service. The location was nice and in a good area. We went back to this location because I needed to study, since I've been back there I've met some excellent employees, no yelling happening the last couple of times we went there, the drinks were delicious the last 5 times we went there! And I was able to get a lot of studying done. The Ambiance was calm, and quiet. Overall much more pleasant the last couple of visits, it also seems like the 2 young people that were at this location no longer work here. 5 stars for this place. Matter of fact, If I could give this place 6 stars I could. I came in one day and was looking for something aside from my usual- an iced vanilla latte. I was feeling something sparkling, but I still needed the caffeine boost for my early morning shift. I asked the beautiful red-headed lady at the front if they had anything that was sparkling, but caffeine infused. She gave me a couple of options, and I ultimately ended up getting their sparkling cold brew. Something I never tried before. We had a nice talk about it, and she offered to make me another drink if I didn't like it. I ended up not being the biggest fan of it, and she had kept her word and offered to make me another one. Although, I did decline because I had to be at work in a short moment. Well... I came back to Peet's today and got a sparkling lemonade, immunity infused. Delicious by the way. I walked up to the register and the beautiful lady, I recognized instantly. I kid you not, she recognized me as well, remembered that I wasn't the biggest fan of the drink last time, and gave me today's sparkling lemonade ON THE HOUSE. I go to this Peet's when I am in downtown Willow Glen. I think this Peet's has a calm setting when you walk in. In the morning it can get very busy so I suggest you to order ahead of time. Also, in the morning it is hard to find seating, so get there early! There is a wide variety of food. Mainly ranging from breakfast sandwiches to bakery items. They are taste no artificial powder and not too overly sweet. This is by far the worst Peet's Coffee that I've ever been to. It's raining outside, and I was looking forward to a hot coffee. Instead I received a cold brew coffee with little remorse after making me wait 30-minutes for an incorrect order. I noticed the manager was standing by watching the event take place, and she decided to ignore the fact that her staff were making incorrect orders. (She had a latte, for you Italian's out there, Americans think latte is a coffee drink, it's not, it's just milk lol.) We sat outside and enjoyed the shade of the umbrella with a couple locals from the area. We had a great conversation lasting almost two hours. The coffee was good, although my Americano tasted kind of burnt. Normally I take my expresso with one teaspoon of sugar. This time I had to add half-and-half and honey. The coffee is pretty good. Today for some reason, I felt a sense of stress from the staff. They are definitely working hard, doing both regular orders and mobile orders. Time from ordering at the counter to getting the drink was not necessarily acceptable, about 12 min (looking at pay receipt to receiving drink). It's also really challenging to hear the names called with the small space being crowded with customers. Staff, they're doing their best given there's quite a few things they can't control, such as noice levels and small space to make a mass amount of drink orders. I do a half hour prior before arriving every time I come it seems like they are really behind and or just taking their sweet time which I get it. They have parking lots behind most businesses and is very walkable no matter where you park. This specific peet's coffee has plenty of seating and is never fully packed. They really should consider asking the female barista who was working this morning to ease up on the caffeine. I picked up my order and it did not appear that she had put the caramel drizzle on top of my beverage. The bottle was right next to the drink, so I just gave it a squirt myself. Seemed no big deal to me. But this barista had a fit and started chewing me out (loudly) about asking for help next time, while she rushed over to feverishly scoop up the squirt bottles like they're national treasure and move them to a more secure location. I never realized that some baristas consider caramel topping a sacred thing not to be squeezed by mere mortals. Maybe they should store it in a vault? It makes me grateful that the baristas at my usual Peet's are friendly, accommodating, and emotionally stable. Upside... the drink was good and the experience gave me a laugh. All in all, a very hit and miss location, both with regard to the drinks and the service. I've had good experiences with both, I've had less favorable experiences with both. This location for me anymore is a matter of convenience on the rare days that my morning schedule requires me to go through Willow Glen and a Noah's bagel sounds good for breakfast. read more

Super nice and very funny baristas at this Peets and the coffee is always good...if a little strong sometimes. Even for me.. and I like it rough. Ha. Anyway... I'm just a regular coffee drinker (hot or iced depending on the weather) so I can't comment on any of the speciality drinks but I'm sure they're good as well. Everything is always clean and well stocked even when they are busy and the new parking garage makes things simple. I particularly like coming here for the people watching. There's a group of old farts that sit out front every day talkin a whole mess of jibba jabba about all the goings on in the neighborhood and life in general. It's GREAT eavesdropping as long as you don't get offended easily cause they're a pretty sassy and opinionated bunch of bullshitters. As long as you don't take em seriously it's terrific comedy. Great location, plenty of parking located behind the shop, you'll walk in from the back (Peet's & Noah's bagels have the same back entrance). Two thumbs up on the new seating, tables & layout. I realize and acknowledge that I have a love/frustrated relationship with this Peet's location. My order fluctuates between a chai tea latte (whole milk) or a coconut creme latte (whole milk & 3 pumps of coconut syrup). The chai is always on point. However, the real struggle is when I order the latte. I've found that it's not the barista that inaccurately prepares my order, the error stems from the cashier taking the order. The relay of information (whole milk+coconut creme+3 pumps of coconut syrup) almost never makes it to the barista (who happily ends up remaking the order). Although at times I leave this place less than excited from when I walk in, at least I leave satisfied with the outcome of my $6 cup of happiness. Five stars to all the baristas who are attentive, professional, and overall cool energy that clearly is hard to keep when faced with smug faces needing their caffeine/sugar fix. Thank you for showing up each day and for never being grumpy (or at least never showing your temper) on having to deal with complicated customers such as myself. Went there this morning and ordered large coconut creme latte, 3 pumps of coconut syrup & whole milk - the barista (Ben) came over and made sure he had the correct info, and it came out great! I was just in around 11am (9/26/22) and the red haired barista was one of the rudest people I've ever encountered. There were maybe 2-3 people waiting for coffee and about 1 mobile order (only one person physically in front of us) and when my mother went to put milk in her coffee, there was only half & half left. She went to the barista to ask for regular milk and the very flustered barista still gave her half & half and then slammed the (second) half & half container down by the sugar area, where I was standing with my son in the stroller. When she was back behind the counter, she said (loud enough for me to hear across the counter) about people are "painfully stupid" today. When I looked at her and asked if there was a problem, she looked at me and continued huffing making coffee. I'm not sure how someone can claim a person is "painfully stupid" when she filled a second half and half container. The way the other coworker didn't say a word makes me think this isn't the first rude day this barista has had. There's other tons of other coffee places on Lincoln that I'm sure don't call patrons names. TL;DR: Barista acted as if we asked her to milk a cow when asked for regular milk; we got called painfully stupid but the barista poured a second container of half&half instead (um?); slammed it on the counter by the sugar where I was standing; mediocre coffee. 0/10 do not recommend unless you're into getting berated. read more
