My typical coffee for Saturday mornings. The service and the wait REALLY depend on what time you go. I prefer to go there at 8am. The line is about three people deep, regular customers sit outside with dogs, most of the customers are runners or moms at that hour. If you go at 10am the crowd is different, and the line is usually 7 or 8 deep. Parking is okay, but that parking lot is kind of nuts with too many pedestrians and too narrow lanes between cars. Again, it's better early. They sometimes have good charity things- like donating school supplies or xmas presents. And I've never had a screwed up order here. read more

The location here is really great--right smack in the middle of Bay Meadows. Condos, apartments, and townhouses are tucked in a little community of brand new (within the last 10 years or so) housing and clean pavements. Next to whole foods, sushi, italian, gold's gym, and much more. Don't be fooled by the front portion where you order and pick up your drink; it is large, and almost the size of any other peets. Except! Walk through the hallway and theres this cozy, moderately sized seating area of tables and those wooden benches so characteristic of peets old-school charisma. Employees were: frustrated and impatient, in my opinion the drinks counter should be FURTHER from the door and not make you walk all the way to the left hand side to order. Dont freaking get annoyed at us for walking through backwards! Overall: This is a great location to live. read more

i'd just love to say the employees here are so amazing! they are very persistent with their customer service. it just just never fails. i come here a lot and every time i come in which is like 7:30 am 2/3 times a week. not just one employee but all of them say hello good morning! and when i grab my drink from the mobile orders rack they never fail to remind me to have a good day! this isn't just it, the drinks taste amazing every time as well. one word for this peet's. it's the persistence for me! read more

I come here on average twice a week. It is busy and noisy the most in the mornings when the commuters and caffeine junkies come in to get their cups of coffee. Or lattes. Or Mocha. Or Freddos. I like mine brewed with some half and half. I usually try to take a black sip of the java before I put my cream in the cup. That way all the flavors and after-tones of that particular blend and roast can be appreciated. When I have the time I will sit and sip an especially good blend without cream for the first half cup. i Like Peets. But i've never gotten anything stolen while at one...-_- Came here to study and I had my pencil case (yes, i'm asian, what do you expect) near the newspaper bin and seriously - someone stole it. Who the ---- wants a little asian pencil case? Annoyingly, my USB flash drive and my headphones (along w/ all those amazing hi-Tech pens) were in there. How annoying. Besides that: Pros: -Free Wifi for 2 hrs, just ask the people at the front -I've never had trouble finding a seat -Seating is located away from the storefront so its not as loud -Free parking (there's an additional lot downstairs under whole foods) -food places nearby for a quick meal (Whole foods, pomodoro, some sushi place, daphne's greek, quizno's i think?) I came in here with some friends for a latte one night. It was approximately 36 seconds until they closed, so the employees looked at me in some alarm. "How many drinks?" they asked me, eying my friends. "Just one, for me!" "Oh, okay. What do you want?" "A latte!!!" They gave it to me for free! The high point of the evening was actually provided by a different coffee place. That was the part where I screamed at a Starbucks employee, who was safely sweeping behind locked glass doors: "You're not closed! How dare you! You can't do this to me! Do you know who I am??!" My brother actually grabbed my arm to hold me back. So thank you, Peets (and various other places and people) in San Mateo, for making my last night on the town in the Bay Area a fantastic night. read more

Peet's is my favorite coffee establishment hands down. So rich, strong and flavorful. my fav is the Iced Vanilla Latte. and when I want a treat (it's more like a dessert) -I go for the Swirl: a chocolate/caramel blended concotion that's simply sinful! Yes, they're slow in crafting your brew and the Burlingame location has the longest lines. but it's always worth the wait. and I always tip! This is the BEST coffee ever! and it all started in Berkley! -gotta love it. read more

Always the best. I miss it so much now that I'm no longer in California. Here's my complaint: THERE ARE NO PEET'S IN PHILADELPHIA (now that the pop-up in Center City in the Capital One store is gone). PLEASE COME BACK!!! There is one at one of the Maryland rest stops on I-95 and I always stop there when I'm passing by. There is one in Terminal E at the airport, but I don't get there often enough. Beware the parking lot; shared with Whole Foods + lots of random other joints, it gets crowded REALLY quick. There is a hidden ramp that goes to more parking under the lot, so don't panic if you see it's full. One of the random ways Peets has won me over is the availability of soy milk at the sugar/milk stations. I don't know why Starbucks doesn't keep it out (cost?) but it's nice to have it out so you don't have to bug a barista. Everytime I get a snack I get the pumpkin ginger muffins. Really moist and tasty, and low-fat to boot. Like everyone else has mentioned, it can get really crowded. In the morning there is usually a pretty intense line. If you want to chill for a bit and not bother the crowd, there is a walkway in the back that goes to a room with tables and chairs. It's really nice -- away from the lines and noise and a great place to work with wireless. Forget Starbucks; come here! read more

My go-to place for espresso after a meal at Shiki's next door or burgers at The Habit. Not the best coffee but it's convenient and decent. Some days, you get a good barista and the espresso is actually quite good but other days, it's average and some, it's crap. Good thing about this place too is they have a good selection of coffee/tea accessories if you are into brewing. Periodic sales/clearance make it worthwhile to check out. Awful experience today. Do they have one line or two lines? Wasn't clear. Even though one of the cashiers saw me in line he took the girl he obviously knew because thy were chatting about something familiar to them. Then the cashier I was in line for walked away and did something else across the shop without informing me if he would be back or saying something like "I'll be right with you". I hope the manager reads this and do some customer service training to improve the service. read more

This is my local Peet's spot. When I was living in San Jose, the nearest Peet's was 20 minutes away in downtown. I go here about once a week for a vanilla or chai latte before work. They also have a great variety of pastries. Nice place to hang out especially with free wifi. I usually avoid going here during lunch time because the parking situation is bad and can get crowded. Early morning or in the mid-afternoon is the best time to come. read more

This is my go-to, closest to home coffee place, so I figure its about time to write a review. My favorite thing about this Peet's is the service. Everyone who works here is just so nice, friendly and helpful. I always feel great after coming in. One time, I stopped in on a weekend on my way out for a little road trip. My friend and I had been waiting on our coffees for quite awhile, but barely noticed because we were chatting. When we asked it turned out they had forgotten our orders. They felt terrible, made our orders immediately, and gave us two vouchers for a free beverage. It was definitely not necessary, we weren't even upset, but It was much appreciated. On the down side, the vanilla beverages tend to be really heavy on the vanilla and a little sweet for my tastes. I'm glad to hear they finally offer unlimited wi-fi now, because that often kept me away before. I may be in more often! read more

Good service; the employees are friendly and helpful. The coffee is superior to Starbucks coffee, which is weak and watery (i.e. it literally tastes like water with a spoonful of coffee in it). Peet's coffee is full-bodied and their espresso is much stronger than many coffee shops, which I appreciate. They also sell a variety of pastries, including low-fat and vegan options, as well as several bottled drinks. Kids love the white hot chocolate with whipped cream! Trust me, I'm a(n) (ex-)nanny. Just make sure you put on the lids before they can escape to the sugar/milk bar and pour white sugar into their hot chocolate. Those sneaky little munchkins!!!!!! This is a nice location, inside the plaza near Whole Foods and other businesses. Parking is tricky. I usually park in the back where I can find parking, or out front. I am the Grab-and-Go Customer..... Stop by, maybe once a week, around 7:30 in the morning, on my way to work. I really like the Havana Cappuccino. Either hot or cold, depending on the weather. If you are a coffee connoisseur of sorts you wll appreciate Pete's as they put a strong emphasis on quality coffee. The staff is usually knowledgeable and makes a damn good cup of coffee or espresso. This location has served me well in every way. I stick mainly to drip coffee and for Pete's this is perfect. Pete's coffee overall leans on the darker roast, even there lighter roast are still pretty dark on the roast scale. This is what I love and you can not beat getting a fresh brew from Pete's. I just love the flavor of their roasts. This store is also in the whole foods shopping center so the customers are all well kept and usually easy to deal with except for that exceptional BMW X5 soccer mom that demands full service without any regards of the other patrons ahead of her. Oh well I can also make my way to Whole foods for some quality food if I am in need. I have been into Pete's here and the espresso machines had broken and were not working but the staff was very polite and made all attempts to let customers know that it was currently not working. The best part was watching people come in and ask for an espresso beverage even after passing several signs including the large one on the front door. I've been here several time and the barista and cashiers are super friendly. The quality of their coffee is consistent and good. I really like this place to study as there are many tables which you don't normally see in other Peet's Coffee. Parking is available although you may have to park underground. I mostly came here because of the check-in offer and the fact that I had a gift card. The vanilla latte I had was okay, but honestly tasted a bit burnt. The good thing is that this location is a great place to meet with friends, have a meeting or study. There are 7-8 tables that can seat 2-4 people and about 8 seats at the window-front bar. Plenty of parking in the parking lot, and decently fast wifi. If you're planning on spending some time here, bring a sweater because it can get quite chilly Bottom line, this is your average Peets Coffee. I didn't think rude, condescending and self-entitled all at once was something one wants to accomplish before your 21st birthday. Until I met Alex the barrista at the San Mateo Peet's, who is clearly already a pro. I'm appalled to see negative reviews about Alex on Yelp from Nov last year, so clearly this Peet's doesn't care about what their customers think. Don't go there unless you prefer Customer Harrassment to Customer Service. Want to know what happened? A couple of months back, my boyfriend and I went in to buy 2 tins of Peet's tea, my boyfriend's favourite thing ever. We get to the counter to pay and ask for 4 tea bags, the equivalent of 2 teas. Alex charges us for 1 tea to go in addition to the tins, so we politely ask him why, since we've always gotten one tea for each tin of tea every time in the past. Alex practically bites our heads off, barking that this is how it is and we only get 1. Since this is not how it is in our experience, my boyfriend asks to speak to the store manager. No store manager, so the floor manager comes over and starts explaining but Alex butts in and lectures us some more, insisting on talking over his manager since, "It's my counter and I'm in charge of my counter." Explaining the store policy is not an excuse to bitch your customers out, but the manager says nothing to Alex. We return the tea, and rather than getting our refund on the credit card we paid with, we have to get cash. That is how it is too apparently, as Alex insists on informing us even though its his manager getting us our refund. My boyfriend has been going to Peet's for 20+ years all across the country and has never had a bad experience, until now. F for Fail, where is should have been F for Fired. read more

Starbucks to Peet's is like Quantity to Quality. The real coffee drinkers know Peet's is #1. To emphasize, particularly this Peet's store. For the past two years, I went there every morning to pick up my medium zebra. I can say that the service can be better at times but overall, I give it 10 STARS! Especially my favorite baristas PAUL, NISH, ARI, MICHAEL and my favorite barista whose long gone...TING. We miss you Ting. She's now over at Whole Foods (lucky bastards!). So when I got married, I received a Breville espresso maker from my wonderful girlyfriend Wendy. I now have my own personal barista. My wonderful husband who makes my double shot caramel latte just right! Peet's is still #1. I would recommend Major Dickinson, Espresso Forte, & Durago. read more

Peet's! Yay! I usually stop by this Peet's on the way to my train. This one is especially nice, because it has a larger seating area in the back compared to others I have seen in the area. My only complaint is that they need to speed up service during the morning rush. This location is directly on the way for people that are going to Caltrain, so I would imagine they get tons of train traffic. They need to speed things up in the morning to cover the demand. There are several times I see a long line and leave without buying anything, fearing I'd miss my train otherwise. read more

Good Starbucks alternative in a really good location, this is right next to the Chipotle and the Wholefoods so lots of options in this parking lot. The staff is really good and they frequently have specials on the coffee (bagged beans) which is nice, usually you can get a free coffee cup or something on occasion. For those of us have friends who are #StarbucksOnly folks there is also a Starbucks on the other corner so you can make everyone happy with this spot. I give this location 2 stars because I have always loved the people that work at this location. Otherwise it would be a big fat 0!. As a regular drinker of the "Americano" the pull of the espresso shot is so important for this drink. You can taste if it is a poorly pulled shot. Unfortunately the really nice, kind people that work there have not been trained to pull a proper shot. So I have a backup for this location (which is close to where I work). My backup is the Coconut Black-Tte.and UNFORTUNATELY Peets discontinued that drink. So I no longer go to this location. read more
