Clean, great customer service, a lot of room, and not too loud. The stuff is very nice and love the ambiance so relaxing.

They recently replaced the good old fashioned hand brew coffee makers that started the company many years ago in Seattle that brewed the best coffee with automatic coffee machines that I can describe in one letter: S! The new machines cannot make you a strong delicious cup of coffee. The coffee is weak in caffeine now. It tastes like it came out of a vending machine. I just want to give kudos to the barista that was there a few weeks ago working alone in a busy store and understood the issue with the new machines and offered to make me a "pour over" instead. I could not accept that offer because she was just pulling her hair out at that time alone running back and forth to all stations. I thanked her and left. I walk by here regularly and have noticed that since the installation of the new machines business has really gone down. Not many people sitting inside drinking coffee on the weekends as the usual crowd. It's hard for large corporate executives of a publicly traded company wined and dined and offered freebees by a coffee machine company to admit that they screwed up. My guess is that after a couple of reporting quarters--they will pull up the truck and remove the new automatic coffee makers. Better and cheaper idea would have just been to ask me to test the coffee and I would have told them in a couple of hours--forget it. read more

Went in the other day and the place smelled so, so, so, awful!! It literally smelled like urine and body odor. There were many homeless people inside, which made the experience of having a nice coffee date impossible. I don't mind the homeless community of Santa Monica, but when a restaurant or food venue smells like this one does, it really becomes a health hazard. We walked out and will never return. read more

I ordered my venti latte and an oatmeal. Oatmeal seems pretty easy...just add water. I received my coffee and waited for a bit and watched delivery people grab their orders, customers grab theirs until I was the last one standing there. I politely asked if my oatmeal was ready yet and I was rudely told there was 9 orders before me. (they were online orders) So I stood there for a few more minutes waiting and then I said, "Don't worry about it, I have to go to work." Then the woman behind the counter rushes to do the order and says it's almost done. No, thank you. I will not be coming to this Starbucks but will go to others where they are actually polite and treat their customers well. So disappointed because I frequented this one 2-3 times a week. read more

This is one of my favorite Starbucks in the area. They remodeled and the place looks so neat. The line moves up quickly and the employees are very attentive. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Great place to get some work done or meet friends or family for a coffee. They have free parking in the back. I'm not sure why some reviews here are criticizing their parking situation- I drove here twice already and both times I was able to find free and easy parking in the back, no validation needed. My new favorite Starbucks drink is the 30" unsweetened green ice tea with peach in it. Delicious and refreshing. They got both my name and my order right :) read more

It is a nice location in an upscale neighborhood with outdoor seating. The reason for my mediocre rating is because of the last experience I had here. I am trying to reduce my carbon footprint by bringing in my own tumblers or requesting a glass mug. When I asked the cashier for a glass mug, he told me that they do have it, but I would have to give it back. (DUH....!) Maybe there was something about me that gave him the thought that I would take the glass mug home. And then, when my coffee came out, it was in a disposable cup. Why the incompentence? Thus, the 2 stars...I'll raise it up when Starbucks can hire people who can handle a simple request. Do better Starbucks. read more

this Starbucks is a joke, a very BAD joke. the staff just couldn't care less about how horrible the zero quality of how what you just PAID for comes out, be it the co which often is room temperature but especially the food items. They can actually have the balls to serve you the toasted bagel with cream cheese you ordered twenty minutes ago....the halves are falling apart so it's hard to spread the cream cheese that THEY FORGOT TO INCLUDE nor the knife, no knife to spread the cream cheese. Just stay away from this place. Ordered a vanilla latte on the app. Even after giving them 15 minutes still wasn't ready when I arrived. On top of that they apparently don't know how to make a vanilla latte as mine tastes like hot water. Can anyone be this incompetent? You forgot to put vanilla in the cup? I knew I should've gone to 11th street. On top of that I ordered a brownie and they heated it up, sorry not heated it up, melted it so it was a big pile of melted shit. I'll stick with 11th street. I agree with Gilda R. Woman at register was terribly unfriendly. I had no idea they didn't have an oven until I asked the barista if they could heat the cinnamon roll I'd already bought. She was nicer than the woman at the register, but informed me they don't have an oven. The cinnamon roll isn't even good without being heated up!! This store is a fail. I'm usually a Starbucks fan too. Oh, and at 7am their bathroom was a disaster... dirty and no toilet paper, so obviously not tended to since the day before. read more

As far as Starbucks goes, they are insistent. However the staff is pretty rude and angsty. They aren't friendly or helpful. But seriously- out of honey for the honey almond milk cold brew for over a month? There is a Safeway across the street. Go buy some damn honey! It's on their reader board as a "must order" drink so they should have all the stuff to make it. Otherwise- agree with other reviews. It's a bit loud and they drag the chairs to add to the loud. Not friendly, inefficient store. Walked in and with two people behind the counter, stood for a full minute and had to say hello to get someone to acknowledge me and take my order. Note, I was the only person in line and there was no rush. Not a great start but I ordered anyway...went to the bathroom, came back and stood for another few minutes. The brown haired female barista made two orders--incredibly slowly--and my order was nowhere in sight. The other guy behind the counter stood wiping down things. I requested a refund (noting why) and he looked at me blankly and accidentally charged me again for the same order, before calling the supervisor to help. Staff was condescending. After 15 minutes of waiting for an iced black tea (not a hard drink, right?), they had apparently forgotten about it. Asked what I'd ordered, and I said a black tea. He finally gave me a hot one and I said I'd ordered it iced. So, one of the waiters simply poured the hot tea into a plastic cup and added ice. Then he came out to my table, bent down on one knee, and told me the proper way to order iced tea. I'm sure everyone is aware that when you order from Starbucks on the mobile app and pay for your order, they may or may not have the item in stock because their inventory system is extremely unreliable. Well, their new refund policy is that they won't give you a refund on the item you didn't get, unless you spend 1/2 hour calling in to their national 800 number. The employees at this Starbucks are more than accommodating!! They are so nice and are more than willing to help you with whatever you need. I've never had a bad drink from this Starbucks! Helena is so friendly and goes over the top with customers! This particular Starbucks is great for working! There are outlets which is such a need and there is ample seating (even outdoors)! There is parking in the back which makes it so convenient! Mobile ordering from this Starbucks is always fast and consistent! Definitely one of the best Starbucks on the west side. read more

I ordered a decaf latte to go and only tried it when I was a block away from store on Montana and 7th street in Santa Monica . It was the worst tasting latte I have ever tasted in my entire life. It was like hot water mixed with almond milk and some foam on top but tasted more like hot dishwater with sugar added, so needless to say I dumped it in the first trash can I could find which btw is where it belongs. Good luck with this store, either the products are off and not fresh and or the guy that made the latte is a clueless as a child. read more

Also, just one unisex bathroom hogged by a woman for at least 10 minutes. I left and started back to my hotel.
