I've tried their banana matcha (top tier), strawberry matcha (has real strawberry bits ), coconut matcha, ube matcha (seasonal), biscoff latte (off menu). All so very good! They also have many pastry options to complement your drink. All the workers are nice and are always hustlin to get the drinks out with a quickness since the line tends to be long during peak hours. Unfortunately no online ordering still due to said long line. Aesthetically pleasing and love their music choices. A definite must in Torrance!

I wanted to throw up I was so disgusted and they did nothing but make me feel stupid for not accepting their answer of it being a pod. Bummer cause this was one of our usual spots but after this experience never again. To the owner who just responded, the two baristas did not have any offer to remake the drink or fix the situation. The initial barista just told me what I explained and all he did was include the other one to show and agree with him. And as a baker for over 12 years I have never seen a vanilla pod turn brown in my life even after steeping it for years so that should not have been the case. I have worked with vanilla pods for years and that never had that texture nor color.

I also loved the first flight matcha, but the coconut matcha even more so. It's really hard to find a place that 1. has good coconut water and 2. has matcha strong enough that it doesn't get diluted by the coconut water. First Flight Coffee does both of these perfectly and will always be my go-to spot in the South Bay for coconut matcha. Only downsides are that the parking lot sucks to get out of (especially if you plan on going west or north), but it's very easy to take a small detour. Gotta love this place. Fast, friendly service. DELISCIOUS coffee and edible delights. and it's right on my way to and from home...works for me! My first day there, the credit card machines had gone down. Do you think that altered the great service...NO...the manager stopped what he was doing and made sure the line kept right on moving. Everyone around me saw his effort and made their own effor tnot to make it a big deal. All the emplouyees seem to follow suit. Bathroom is always clean. The place is always kept up and fully stocked on everyting. One really big pet peave for me is that in all coffee shops, the first container to get depleted is the half & half. This place "gets it"....they don;t wait til a patron brings it to them in frustration...they're on it waaay before. Good for you Peets!!! read more

I stopped in here before going to Whole Foods next door. I got a cranberry scone, pictured below, and a mild coffee. Both were good, but nothing to rave about. The coffee is a bit bitter for mild. The scone is even more expensive than the scones in Whole Foods, so that tells you it is expensive. Nice store with wood floors and a Seattle feeling. Free parking galore and no lines inside. There is just something about the coffee at Peet's that makes it distinctively different from everywhere else. I've been coming here for who knows how long and it will always be that way. This location in particular is a nice place to sit around and just enjoy a cup of coffee while reading the paper. Definitely a nice staff behind the counter and parking is never a problem. read more

Very good coffee, but quite expensive. I went to this Peet's because the Whole Foods next door was closed (it was before 9 a.m.). The coffee was extremely good. The tables in Peet are quite small, which makes it tough to spread out a newspaper to read. The staff is helpful. There is plenty of free parking out front. read more

The menu marks changes in seasons here in (mostly) sunny California. The architecture features high ceilings, tall glass windows, and spacious outdoor seating. Interior design combines a few cozy armchairs, elevated barstools, and wooden chairs. If you're looking to quietly relax in one of the oversize armchairs with an ottoman, then I'd recommend avoiding peak hours.

I wanted to take the top off of the latte and attempted to do it. I spilled the drink over the table, on my pants, and on the floor. Immediately, two baristas came over, cleaned up the mess I had caused, and replaced the muffin and latte at no charge. I was amazed. The baristas were so kind and understanding, and went "above and beyond" what a reasonable customer would expect. This location was opened recently. There are plenty of tables and chairs to accommodate customers, unlike other locations that offer take-out only service and no seating area. One thing I especially appreciate about Philz is that oat milk is the default in many of their drinks. As someone who is milk-sensitive and also just doesn't enjoy the taste of whole milk, I LOVE not having to remember to modify my order. It makes ordering so much easier. When I arrived, my drink was ready quickly, even though there were probably 10+ mobile orders already waiting to be picked up. The Strawberry Matcha was refreshing, smooth, and delicious -- exactly what I needed on a hot South Bay day. Customer service was subpar, the lady at the register felt unwelcoming, and it almost felt like a dirty look, could've been in my head, but I was taken back for sure. I was like dang girl what I do?? Needless to say, I use to keep this place bookmarked a few years ago, but I'm taking it off for now. Ambrosia definitely keeps a more welcoming environment, better coffee and it's not too far away.
