We returned here for a late morning breakfast after not visiting for many years. Not much has changed, physically. Comfortable booths, clean and current, adequate parking in their front lot or on the street, a large number of windows, giving it a bright feel. The thing I most want to report that when one considers the variety of choices, the size of the portions, and the quality of the food, this place is as good as it gets. We had so much to choose from but opted for the traditional Benedict with a side of bacon and some biscuits and gravy with a side of hash browns. It was way more than we needed, probably could have picked from the seniors menu and saved a few nickels, but then we wouldn't have had plenty to take home for the next day's morning feed. The server could not have been friendlier nor more attentive and the price for what turned out to be four meals was under $40. We have traditional weekly lunch date to celebrate our long marriage and we will likely give them another visit after noon soon. read more

I have been eating at Pegah's from the first day they opened the Escondido location. Probably twice a week on average. I LOVE everything about this place. They have quality food, great service, and a competitive price. When I decided to write this review, I looked through some of the others and was astounded by some of the negative comments. Overpriced? This is one of the most competitively priced quality breakfast restaurants I've been to (everything went up coming out of COVID). A complaint about Francine? She is absolutely one of our favorites, and has always treated us in a very friendly manner, efficiently, competently, and with a great sense of humor. I can't understand why anyone would ever be critical of her or this restaurant. I found myself asking if this was the same place I go to? If you happen to be looking for a great breakfast restaurant in the Escondido area, I unreservedly recommend Pegah's. PS their Chicken bacon melt is to die for! read more

We loved Pegah's kitchen! I came here around 11AM on a Saturday to meet a friend for brunch. There was no wait and we were seated immediately. I ordered the eggs Benedict with a side of hash browns and my friend ordered the corn beef hash. Portions are generous and such an excellent value for the price. Most breakfast places are so expensive these days, but I found Pegahs to be very reasonable. There's a ton of options on their menu so I'm sure you'll find something you will like. The servers here are so sweet and did not rush us. We slowly worked on our meals and didn't feel like they were trying to clean our table too quickly. This feels like a small family owned business and I loved how welcoming the place is. There is limited parking in this lot so you may need to find street parking. read more

I drive by Pegah's frequently and have never stopped for breakfast or lunch.....until this morning. Over time I have heard lots of good comments and decided to have breakfast here to see what all the good hub bub is all about. I am so glad that I did! Within moments after being seated I was greeted by my server, Francine! What a breath of fresh air she is. Besides her smile and friendly demeanor she made me feel welcomed. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast there today, and her warm welcome, her sweet nature, and her PERFECT SERVICE made a great breakfast meal into a delightful experience. We visited Pegah's for a belated Fathers Day Breakfast. There were five of us and a baby. We waited a few minutes and were seated quickly. Checking in garnered us a 10% discount, thanks Yelp!! We ordered coffee and waters while we absorbed the big breakfast menu. Francine was our server and she was great. Took our orders and kept everything straight. Coffee refills on point too. My California Eggs Benedict were perfect. Nice light hollandaise and tasty fresh avocados. Light poached eggs and crispy English muffins. So good. Everyone's food was tasty! Well this is a first visit review. Restaurant is in a prime location. Parking can be a challenge as it is very close to a residential area and on a corner. We had to wait a few minutes outside as there was a wait on a Saturday. Service was very good. We had a waitress named Francine. She was very attentive to our needs. We were greeted by a nice gentleman at the front of restaurant. We were sat promptly after our wait. Food was delicious, had a wonderful omelette with bacon and avocado, per Francine's recommendation. The pancakes are super delicious also This will be return a return to spot!! Went here on Memorial Day as we were visiting family for the long weekend. I called ahead of time to secure a reservation. They said they didn't do reservations, but they said they'd see how things go, but no promises. When we arrived they had our table ready. Much appreciated. The menu was plentiful but not enormous. The food was worth the stars this restaurant receives. The waitress staff also went out of their way to accommodate us despite the challenges of a larger group. I had high hopes for this place because it's got such high ratings. I'm not the area but we came in for an appt nearby and searched a highly rated breakfast spot. I ordered the BOA omelette and my daughter ordered the Nutella and banana stuffed French toast. She was happy with her choice, but unfortunately I had pieces of my toast that were burnt to the point where I couldn't eat it. The avocado on my omelette also had pieces of that stem part at the top of the avocado, part of the seeds, along with the none of the cheese melted and was extremely thick. Overall it wasn't appealing. The service we received was great but my food specifically wasn't good and I ended up barely eating any of it. I'd give 3.5 for the service but I probably wouldn't be back based on the food. read more

I have been here a few times and each time I return, I remember why I love this place. I don't go here because their is so much food and it is so good I gain 4 pounds each visit! Customer service is awesome. Always very busy but you don't get the Busy diner attitude form the waitress. Food is always correct and fast and we get checked on a few times during the meal. The food!!!! So good, everything!!! Corned beef hash, biscuits and gravy, eggs and bacon and everything! Not a single discrepancy for my last 3 meals here.
