We ordered the Tom's Special, which was DELICIOUS. It was loaded with toppings, and the meat to veggies to cheese ratio was just right. The crust was also very good; the right amount of crisp without being burnt. I also thought the sunflower seeds went nicely with the pizza. Seriously, people should use sunflower seeds more in their cooking! Then, we had also ordered an additional topping of sausage for the pizza, which was a really nice touch. We also ordered the shrimp salad with balsamic vinegar, which was pretty good. However, I was a little bummed they gave us small, flavorless shrimps. We could have saved $1 had we ordered the Greek salad instead. Oh well. I really enjoyed the food there, but it was a tad expensive for what it's worth. I was really excited to come here, given that my date had told me that he'd heard it was one of the more popular places in Seattle for pizza. Needless to say, I was looking forward to having some excellent pizza. Sadly, it was really just okay. We each had a Caesar salad, (pretty standard), and split "The Greek," a mozarella-feta cheese combination with onions, olives, sausage, spinach, and sunflower seeds. I was disappointed to find that it was also just standard. I found the sunflower seeds to be a little overpowering, and the overall piece to be underwhelming. The atmosphere is a bit on the romantic side, with intimate settings, low lights, and a long wine list. Set just across from the ocean and Alki Beach, I can only imagine the view when the weather is nice. We went on a dark and rainy night, when the view was less than impressive. Most overrated pizzeria in Seattle. If your thing is pizza that's bland and greasy with sub-par crust, this is the place for you. Also, you get the added bonus of slow service at no extra charge. Note that many of the reviews for this pizza joint must be taken with a gargantuan grain of salt. When reviews contain text along the lines of "When I was a kid", you cannot trust them to be objective. Wanted some pasta and La Rustica was full so we ended up here. Have walked past it about a thousand times over the years but never went in. Service was a little strange. About half full but 4 parties waiting for a while to be seated (8-10 minutes). Not sure what that was about. I agree with the reviews about the 'cheese coverup'. Caesar had a ton of bagged, shredded cheese on it, way too many croutons and a tomato(!). I'm always scared by places who put tomatoes on a Caesar. We got a manicotti combo. Again, a ton of cheese. Kind of an off flavor -- maybe too much marjoram but it was hard to place. When we got to the bottom of the dish, we saw that the meat one was filled with something that looked like cat food. Kind of a grayish brown stuff that looked like refried beans. We didn't finish it. All in all, completely unremarkable. Probably won't go back. read more

Most people here seem to have had a bad experience with service. I am right there with you. My servers weren't rude, just lackadaisical, uninterested, and generally blaise about my presence. We asked for a side of pizza sauce three time, and never really had a drink refill. The place was pretty dead, so there wasn't really an excuse for this, aside from out server sitting and chatting with her valley-girl-esque friend a few tables over. Irritating. The pizza, I would say, wasn't bad. A little inspired; clear they probably use good product and have an interesting game design. The pepperoni or salami or whatever it was that got really crispy on the top was quite good. The crust, however, needs work, and the sauce is plain. Pizza can not be made by toppings alone, people. If I served you caviar on a ritz cracker, you'd be pissed too. That's it, passable, but don't go in a rush. read more

I have been going to Pegasus since I was a little boy. They moved after many years half a block down the street. So its a new and clean place to go and try out. We got a coupon so we decided to go to Pegasus for lunch. We had the Caesar Salad, one of the better ones that I have had. We also ordered the Alki special pizza, House (Tom's) Special pizza, the spaghetti with meatballs, and the Rosemary chicken Ravioli. Out of all these, i would have to say that my favorite is the Alki Special and my least fav. is the Tom's special. The spaghetti, salad and the ravioli are all good, I would give them 4/5. The Tom's special is good too, it's just that i felt like there were way too much food on the pie, and also too much favor, or kind of on the salty side, it's also pretty messy when we ate it. I like the service, the waitress was nice, service was good and fast, everything went really smoothly. I love the location! Especially during summer, when there are more people enjoying the sun, beach and the water front view. However, it would be kind of far to go here for lunch. I would definitely go back again, one of the best pizza places I have been to. read more

Stopped in for late night eats, looks like it's been a while since I've been in because Pegasus Pizza has moved in next door to a better location with outdoor seating. Meal was great as expected. Seating has vastly improved with the new space; however, I still don't base my ratings on atmosphere. I still give it four stars because service is still not that great. It's always disappointing to me to see several employees that don't like to interact with customers. It took too long for the pizza and pasta to come on a not so busy day. While we waited for the food, we got to watch lots of flies hover in the air. The only food that was served fast was chicken rice soup which tasted like canned soup. The pizza has a thick crust. I haven't had thick crusted pizza for a while but it tastes ok. 4 and a half stars! My feelings about Pegasus are hard to express. My dad has been taking me here since 1986 before they had a beer license. Since then, I have been there about literally 1,000 times. In 2000, I got my first apartment on Capitol Hill and my favorite new pizza place became Olympia Pizza 3. (See my wonderful review) After new ownership and now a new location down the street, Pegasus is still delicious and the only place in Seattle that rivals Olympia Pizza 3. Pegasus food is decadent, rich, and causes absolute euphoria. It is the emodiment of all seven deadly sins in one meal. The bleu cheese and pizza make me weep with pleasure. Delicious food, went there with friends and the service was fast even though we had been told they were understaffed. Had a newbie for a waiter and she did great, real friendly and even the long time waiter would check up on us to make sure we were good. I ordered the white spaghetti, and honestly, I didn't really like it as much. If I was to get something with pasta, I recommend getting the Alfredo pasta, their sauce is good. If you want to try their white spaghetti, I recommend just making it at home. It tastes like any other spaghetti, garlic, Parmesan and butter dish. Much cheater buying the basic ingredients for the dish to make dinner of 4-6 than ordering the dish at the restaurant. This is a gem of a restaurant on Alki Beach in West Seattle! The Food: The food arrived to the table in record time. It was hot out of the oven and tasted amazing. Our party of four all ordered something different, and of course had to share and taste each other's food. There was not a single thing that wasn't spectacular. It was also for a very good price(roughly $15/ per person). The Service: Our server was easily as good as the food. Darby was quick, efficient, kind and unobtrusive! I didn't wish for or need anything. I must reiterate that her speed was fantastic. I was very pleasantly surprised. Random: Anyone that has been to Alki Beach for dinner will probably tell you that parking is a free for all. It was quite a stroll to park and get back to the restaurant, but my party was perfectly fine waiting at the restaurant while I parked and then fetched the car afterwards. Some of my friends swear by Pegasus pizza. I have been here 2-3 times and am not fond of the pizza they serve. I think it's more of a preference than anything, having gone to college in NY and living in New England - I'm more of a thin crust pizza kind of gal. The Pegasus pizza crust is a bit on the thick side. I think you could get better pizza at other places, even at the fast pizzeria chain without the fancy price.... My friends and I came here on my trip up to Seattle (they are residents). When we got there we were told 5-10 minute wait to sit inside, so we decided to sit outside since there was no wait. Another 20 minutes passed and a server did not come to take our order. My friend got up to tell the manager that we were not being waited on. He apologized and took the matters in his own hands, and became our server, which we thought was nice and effective on his part. He also offered us a free round of drinks, which we were all thankful for. We ordered the Feta Bread which was amazing; I'm definitely going to try making this at home since it was so delicious, especially when you also get the marinara sauce with it. We also got the Alki Special, which was a combination esque pizza. It didn't disappoint. It wasn't greasy or heavy even though there were over 10 ingredients (I think) on the pizza. Also, the manager kept coming out to insure that we were doing alright and made sure our food came out on time and the pizza did follow shortly after our appetizer which was nice to make sure that we had a good time minus the initial hiccup. The location is awesome too, being able to look out on the sound while enjoying dinner with some friends was a big plus. If I lived in the area, I would definitely come back here to try out their other pizzas. read more

The other reviews here make me chuckle: aside from the salient comments about the lackadaisical service (which I agree, the staff seem to be chosen for a different criteria than customer service skills), there are a lot of complaints about the pizza itself. Many 'The pizza wasn't good/was soggy/etc etc' comments. Folks, the bottom line is that you don't like THIS kind of pizza, not that the pizza itself bad. Learn how to write a review before you potentially damage a business. Pegasus Pizza makes a style of pie that is most reminiscent of Chicago Deep Dish. If you are looking for Classic 'New York Style' or a cracker crust, you best go somewhere else, because you will not be happy with the offerings here. However, if you are the kind of person who usually orders extra cheese on their pizza, who likes the toppings thickly piled on, who enjoys a pizza pie that is closer a pie than a pizza and probably should be eaten with a fork, and who feels that the sauce is supposed to just be an accent and not the focus of the experience, Pegasus has something for you. I was also impressed with the high-quality of the ingredients: the cheese and many of the meats are locally produced, I believe; The salads are top-notch as well: big BIG portions, and in the 20+ times I've had a salad from Pegasus, the greens have never been limp or soggy. I can't speak to the soups or the pasta, because I've always gone to PP for pizza. As to the restaurant itself... the place is usually crowded, particularly during the summer months, when it will fill up shortly after opening on the weekends, and stay busy until they close the doors. During the week is not so bad, but there is still a lot of traffic through there. I have never seen an alarming amount of trash or dirtiness at Pegasus, but when I went it was usually during off-peak hours. I imagine that if you were there during the rush, conditions could get a little unsavory (particularly on the weekends). Now as to the service... well, let's just say that unless I'm down in Alki for other reasons, I've taken to ordering for takeout, and only part of that is because of the lousy parking on the beach. Note that if you want an outside table, or if you're going on a Saturday or Sunday while the sun is still in the sky, you will be waiting for a table. Things to try: The Tom's Special: if you're not feeling adventurous, just have them leave off the sunflower seeds. The Spicy pepperoni is VERY good. Things to avoid: the peak hours Things to note: Beer and Wine only (but the wine selection is OK). One of the gems on Alki. My husband and I live close by so it is convenient to grab a drink and a pizza. They have a nice variety of beers and wine to choose from but if you're feeling a cocktail, they have those too. We came on a busy Friday and were seated in 10-15 min, which wasn't too bad. We ordered a wedge salad and some chicken wings. The salad came out and they said they ran out of chicken wings. Although we were slightly disappointed, the pizza came quickly. The salad was good, it had bacon, tomatoes, red onion, and blue cheese. The pizza we ordered was the Hercules. With pepperoni Canadian bacon, salami, sausage, and meatballs, it is definitely the pizza for a meat lover. The crust is super soft, and half way between a New York style and a Chicago style. Staying here in alki beach for our family vacay from Socal. We've eaten here twice. First time, we had pasta; spaghetti, three cheese tortellini, chicken& mushroom with spaghetti in white sauce and meatball sandwich. Very good! I had the shrimp salad too with my sandwich and their tomato bisque. Everything was great. Second night, we ordered pizza; pepperoni and chicken pesto. What a cool location right on the waterfront of West Seattle. The place itself has more of a restaurant feel than a pizza shop although the service is closer to a pizza shop than a nice restaurant. They have a limited but decent selection of beers to go with your pizza. I ended up going with the house special pizza at the recommendation of the people I was with. It was very densely packed with toppings and was similar to the works pizza at most places except they shred the pepperoni and they put sunflower seeds on it. The shredded pepperoni made it more crunchy and cooked than normal pepperoni which changed the flavor a little than normal pepperoni. The sunflower seeds seemed weird to me as a pizza topping even though love sunflower seeds. They gave the pizza a nutty flavor while being much more subtle than pine nuts which is what I would more expect on a pizza. So it added a nice flavor to the pizza. read more

This place is a nice place to eat on Alki! The Hawaiian and tom's pizza were really good. Got the shrimp salad and split amongst 7 people and everyone ate till they were full! This place is so cute and the environment is really nice. Seemed really busy on a Saturday so it's probably a good idea to make reservations. Also parking is on the street so good luck finding parking, probably a better idea to carpool if eating out with friends! :) read more

Woah, this place has moved down the street and looks completely different! Last time I was there (see my previous review), the place was very dirty and the interior was disappointing. However, they have moved and remodeled the inside and it looks great! I will say the inside is a little fancier than the actual menu, which makes for a bit of an odd experience, but it didn't really matter too much. I do think they need to replace their tables and chairs though. I'm pretty sure they are still the tables and chairs from the old restaurant and, again, they remind me of a cheap pizza place that holds lots of youth soccer team parties. But really, all they would need to do is replace those and the interior would be perfect! The pizza is still quite good. My boyfriend and I split a pepperoni and black olive pizza and it was very tasty. I like how there is an extra layer of cheese over all of the toppings. Yum! This definitely isn't a place I will come back to a lot (it's quite far from my house), but it has good pizza. And now the interior is much nicer! read more

This pizza is bomb, but the price is not. This is another well known West Seattle eatery that has stood the test of picky West Seattleites. Unfortunately that means they can charge whatever the hell they want for their pizza. For my take out meal of a large pizza, one child root beer, and an order cheesy bread came out to $49. WHAT?! yes. Ridiculous, but the pizza is so good that the kids keep want to go back. The pizza has an amazing crunchy crust, LAYERS of cheese, and the toppings you choose are stuffed between the layers (perfection). The cheesy bread is also pretty delicious! The waiters and waitresses are all very kind and know what they are doing when it comes to customer service. Another fantastic thing available here is the VIEW! SO gorgeous! There's sidewalk seating, which is a little awkward in that you're literally sitting on the sidewalk and there's a lot of foot traffic along Alki, but I love sitting outside, so...I'll take it! The pizza was good. It's the in-between style - not thin crust, NY style and not thick crust either, and it's just not my favorite thing. But that's okay! It was still good for what it is, and the toppings were tasty and plentiful. This is a really nice place to enjoy on Alki, probably one of my favorites. I like Pegasus. I like their thick pizzas piled high with generous toppings and cheesy cheese that as you pull off your slice on those pizza trays they leave a trail behind. I like their meatballs and that thick tomato sauce that makes you think of all those old school pizzerias you grew up with. Sometimes the service can be harried (especially when they get more than 5-6 tables for some reason) but they always try to do right by you. Its approachable enough for everybody and close enough for a quick delivery/pick up. The food is a solid 3.5 but consistently so. And that makes me like Pegasus all the more. Sometimes you work a long 10 hour day, and all I want is a pizza that I know I can count on. And for that? Pegasus is here for my stoner ass. read more

I was very disappointed. I have gone there on several occasions and the service most of the time has been poor. This last time the service was great, but the host people were very upsetting. We were sitting by a plant and a couple servers/hostess poured pitchers of water in it which caused my coat to get soaking wet. There was water all over the floor and over my daughters sweatshirt and mine. I said something to them and they just stared at me. So I said something to them again. They never bothered to apologize. It was cold outside and now my warm attire was not warm. It would have been nice to get an apology. I wasn't expecting free food, I just wanted some common courtesy. read more

I didn't take any pictures bc everything was so good! I've been coming to Pegasus for years and years one of my favorite restaurants on alki for sure! We were there on Valentine's Day night for dinner, it wasn't too packed the decor is beautiful the only thing was the music we found it annoying bc it was so loud, but that is my only complaint. Okay the food was amazing! Of course we got the feta bread and buffalo wings for our appetizer, those were perfect, next I went with the tri colored cheese tortellini (bc salad and more bread ‍) and my boyfriend got a bbq chicken pizza. As a native West Seattleite, I am sad to write this negative review, but my last two experiences at Pegasus have been less than desirable. I should say that I do always enjoy the food here, however when the service is so bad, it is hard for me to remember that I just ate a good meal! Ill cut to last week.. BFF and little sister in hand I take my girls to Alki on a rainy Seattle night for "some excellent rainy weather comfort food!". The three of us walk in, there are three, count em THREE, young ladies behind the counter. One asks how many, I say three, she says we will be right with you. Just then some young men walk in, Jamba in hand for the girls behind the counter. Now I love Jamba as much as the next, but that clearly took precedent over them seating us. Someone (I am assuming a manager) did jump up from her seat at the tables in front to tell the girls to seat us, but her instructions fell on deaf ears. We definitely stayed long enough for it to just be awkward that we were still standing there. All three of us have or do work in the service industry, and tend to be very forgiving of mediocre customer service, but this was just bad service. My boyfriend and I went here for dinner last night... The experience was slightly disappointing. The food was good. We ordered the Alki Pizza or whatever. The middle was soggy, but the crust was great. The sausage was extremely spicy in my book. I'm not a fan of spicy food, so I had to pick the sausage off. The service wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. The waitress we had was very friendly, but we ended up having a different person drop off our drinks, food, our check and box our left overs. Seems like they were all over the place. Maybe it's a teamwork approach to serving, but it was slightly annoying and seemed to slow things down quite a bit. Also, one girl was wearing a racer back tank top with her bra straps hanging out. Very tacky if you ask me. It seems like t-shirt sleeves would be more appropriate. The setting of the restaurant is nice. Being right next to the beach and being able to sit outside is great. If you want to sit outside, make sure you're prepared to wait. We had to wait for a good 10 minutes on a Tuesday night, around 8. Overall, it's ok. read more

Pizza was amazing at the Kirkland location that I just had to eat here when I came on a nice day. I hate olives so I asked if I could substitute it with onions and our waitress said there will be a small fee since they do not do substitutions so I thought, hey? Onions? How much could that be?! Well we got the pizza and we couldn't even see the onions yet when we got our bill it was an extra 2.25. It might not seem like too much but for extra onions?? I could buy like 3 whole onions for that price! But I still live their shrimp salad and their cheese on the pizza is to die for, even though they didn't give us that much this time. I get the mushroom chicken pasta and last time I had it it wasn't great but it was middle of covid so I gave them a break and thought I'd try it again tonight. Bad choice.
