We have been coming here for 6 years. Pegasus has been apart of our family life on Sundays as we would come here before church and enjoy a delicious breakfast and leave. We've donated toys to the restaurant over the years for when children come such a little baby toys. HOWEVER, today was such a sad lack of hospitality. There are only a few places to sit outside while you wait. With three children after about 15 min of waiting my children wanted to explore the area. They were having fun jumping off of the low, 12 inch rocks into my husbands arms. The older lady manager with black hair sent a host out to let us know our children could no longer do that... So we obliged and just hoped to get sat soon so our 6, 4 and 2 year old could sit and eat. We were told 10 min and it took over 20. Fine! We did what we could to entertain the children without just shoving a tablet in front of their face(not that I don't have to do that sometimes). After that we were sat at our table by the window. My 2 year old was being a blabbering babe in her high chair safely buckled in. My 6 year old was resting on my lap and our 4 year old, mind you very ADHD Autistic was just looking at the ceiling at the reflection of the water from an outside fountain. Enamored, he asked what the waves were on the ceiling and my husband explained it is a reflection from the water outside. My 4 year old gets very intrigued with his condition and when he does, it's beautiful because he will be quiet and stare and just try to understand. So he stood up in our bench to just look out the window at the water. Then after about 2 min of my sons silent wondering, the older lady with black hair, I believe she's an owner or manager, asked us to just have our son sit down... I told my husband let's just go because I felt under a microscope this whole experience... My husband said, "He's not doing anything wrong he's just looking out the window." She replied, "Well, are you going to clean the windows?" I interrupted immediately and asked her to look at how filthy my window was with finger prints, grease and water marks all over and said, "Ma'am do you see how filthy my window is?" She said, "Yes." And then she came up with another reason, "What if he falls?" My husband said, there is no where for him to fall... except for maybe on me..." MIND YOU my child is legit just looking out the window... not banging on it, licking on it, smearing on it... just studying how the water reflects onto the ceiling... so I just said, "We will just leave as I don't feel like this is a family friendly atmosphere for children." She legit said, "That's not true, we have children come in here all the time with parents that parent." I then let her know our son is just autistic and we were just doing the best we can as he wanted to look out the window at the water. She said, "Well then tell me that." I just like don't go around announcing I have a special son to everyone as I try to protect his dignity... What?! I was stunned at first the comment about washing the windows and now being told we are not parenting? Like I was the one who asked them to switch out a chair at the end of our booth for my two year old for a high chair and legit just wanted to go to our first breakfast out in maybe 6 months since the economy went down on our family a little. It was simply a very hurtful experience in a hospitality industry. read more

I seriously couldn't believe it. Decided to go in for breakfast with my two year-old grandson as we always do. There was a woman who is seating people who I've never seen before. I expressed the desire for a highchair. She brought it and because I didn't immediately put him in. It asked if I needed assistance and putting him in it. I said no I was fine. Then he walked around a little bit and went to a hanging window to look at it. He must've barely touched it because it moved a little and she said that that was totally inappropriate for him to be walking around and needs to be confined. I said no problem and put him in his chair. Not his highchair. He stood up in the chair and she raced over to say that that is a liability and he hast to sit down! I said it's OK. You don't have to be rude. She said I'm being rude and I should leave. So we did used to like this restaurant and unfortunately I don't think we'll ever come back. read more

We tried Pegasus last month when we had guests visiting. We enjoyed the unique ambiance in the heart of downtown castle rock. We stopped in for breakfast and enjoyed an array of different meals. Everyone left very pleased with the food. The service was kind, but somewhat slow. I think they were short staffed that day. We look forward to coming back again soon! read more

I went to eat there this morning and was told that seating we be available really soon. We had a party of three. I seen several groups leave the restaurant and create availability. There were a party of four and two parties of two that walked in behind us. They seated all parties that came in behind me. I asked why they seated the other parties and they told me I could sit outside if I like. I felt unwelcome. We are a mixed couple as well. We walked out. Absolutely wonderful venue. They take reservations which was necessary in our case due to a tight schedule. The table was ready upon out arrival (must have been at least 30 people waiting outside). Our waitress was wonderful and took care of our party of 9 in all star fashion. The best part however was the food. The Chilladas were wonderful and spicy. Equally good were the Eggs Benedict. For "desert" we ordered two sides of biscuits and gravy. Wonderful Bloody Mary as well. We will definitely return. read more

Arrived at restaurant this am around 9:30 and was greeted by no one. Noticed a "find yourself a seat" sign. We're longtime customers over the years and surprised by this, the empty dining room for this time of the morning, and the empty front room which used to offer some private dining for larger gatherings converted to a large office. Found a seat. The breakfast menu was very limited and extremely pricey! Wanted a simple omelet but only Western and Mexican were on the menu. Requested if a simple bacon and cheese omelet was possible. Was told yes. Unknown on price. After checking, the price ended up being $14.75 for omelet, hash browns and toast. Normally, wherever one goes for breakfast and orders an omelet, it will come made with 3 fresh eggs and appear fresh/fluffy. Mine was SO thin, as well as greasy, you could see the bacon right thru it (see photo). 2 halves of the 2 toast slices were burnt, with one inedible. Normally don't do this, but asked if it could be remade. Also asked if they used 3 eggs for omelets or 2, because it looked like maybe just 2. Was told that they pour the eggs over the grill which to me indicated from a pitcher of whipped eggs. The 2nd omelet came looking much like the first; thin, greasy and lacking egg. "John" the owner, who ID'd himself as the maintenance man, told me the cook has worked for him 38 years in defense of the egg omelet. Wasn't looking for anything free, or even a discount, but it would have been nice to offer. For the high prices, I was expecting a better meal experience and won't soon return to this once fine establisment whose merits used to be sizable portions, reasonable prices and great service. I love this restaurant, it's probably my favorite in Castle Rock. The decoration and ambience is cool, the staff is friendly, and the food has never disappointed. I particularly like the gyros, my husband loved his pork green chili smothered breakfast something-or-other. 4 Mar 21 - had brunch there to celebrate Easter with a large family group (nine of us). The traffic on I-25 was awful due to an accident so we got there late but luckily some members of our family got there early and were already seated at the table. They took our orders when we got there and the waitress who took care of us was very efficient and our food orders came out pretty fast. She also kept refilling my husband's coffee cup and my pink lemonade and refilling all the drinks. The food was great and we got excellent service! The owner sat at our table twice and we got to chat with him and tell him we were from Colorado Springs. My son has eaten at this restaurant several times and picked it for our Easter brunch. We went here for brunch today and I was very disappointed. First we went to put our names on the list and the host staff had no idea how long the wait would be. We stayed and waited obviously, but this caused other people that checked in after us to leave. We ordered our food and it seemed to take a while to come out. We ordered the country breakfast burrito, chicken fried steak and a half order of French toast. I tried the French toast immediately and it was cold, almost as if it had come straight from a refrigerator. It also did not have the look of French toast cooked fresh, so I'm assuming it actually did come from the fridge. The rest of the food was okay, nothing to write home about. Someone other than our server delivered our food, which was okay. However, what wasn't okay was that our server did not check on us once after we received our food. She walked by our table numerous times checking on other tables without stopping at ours. She didn't make her way to us until after we finished our meal. We never got water refills (they were empty) and never got the french toast fixed (we got it removed from the bill when she finally came back). We will not be back. read more

I had a craving for French Toast and we headed to Pegasus. If you're looking for slow service, okay food and little disappointment, head on in. There are a few reasons I can't recommend--oily cold eggs and hash browns, harried server who couldn't remember anything we asked for--but the worst was THE BLATANT LIE ON THE MENU. I came in for French toast. Ordered a breakfast that was supposed to have two pieces. Guess what? One piece of toast cut in half IS NOT two pieces of French toast. Seriously? $13.00 for cold eggs and potatoes and one piece of battered bread? Give me a break. Go to Denny's. read more

This morning my partner, daughter and I wanted to try a new place and grab some breakfast. We saw the reviews of this place and the images of the food and we thought it would be perfect. There was no one in front of us when we walked in and asked for a table for 3. The hostess said we would be seated soon so we patiently waited. While waiting a groups of 2 and a group of 4 came in and were seated right away. We started to question why we were still waiting. At this point another party of 2 arrived and again they were seated right away. The hostess mentioned to us that they didn't have a table for 3 and only had 2 tops available but we could sit outside. My partner questioned the table availability and she said they only had 2 tops available. Keep in mind that we had seen a party of 7 leaving right before the last party of 2 arrived. We are a mixed couple and at this point no longer felt comfortable or welcomed. This put a major damper on our morning especially with feeling as if we were being discriminated against. There is a delicate balance between wanting to give your favorite restaurant props and not wanting them to grow TOO big so you can never get in, but these guys deserve serious recognition.
