I attempted ordering my lunch online and as you click "place order" a little message pops up by your total saying that the site has been having technical difficulties, and in order to combat this, only click "place order" once. But the message doesn't pop up until after you've clicked... So... Thanks, Pei Wei. Super helpful. Anyway, I paid online and input my card info, but when I clicked to confirm, it took me to an error message... BUT they still charged my card? Which makes no f*cking sense to me, but ok. I didn't get an order confirmation for it or anything, so I called the location to let them know and just order ahead that way. The lady on the phone was super sweet, I didn't catch her name though. When I went to pick up my food, she said not to worry about paying for it. How nice is that? Great customer service from what I've experienced. It appears as though others have had trouble with online ordering as well... I contacted customer service about refunding me since my order didn't even go through. I'm just waiting for them to respond now. Either way, I feel as if this issue should definitely be fixed by now. read more

So I'm on vacation and given there are no Pei Wei's where I currently live, I'm always looking for my fix. I was a little skeptical given the recent reviews I have read, but I was happily surprised with my visit. This place was a good 4/5 stars for me. I'm no food critic, but I have eaten it enough to know what it's supposed to taste like. I went with my old faithful Thai Dynamite and my only criticisms would be that it was not quite as spicy as I had remembered and the vegetable were not quite cooked enough. Rice was on point. I like a crunchy vegetable, but this was excessive. Service was on point. Restaurant was clean. Everything it should have been. Don't sweat the other reviews, they have obviously made some positive changes. Get back to loving your Pei Wei as you always have. read more

Pei Wei used to be great. We used to visit this place so much. We went today and had the most blend and cheap food ever. We ordered 5 entrees and they were gross. My wife complained and the manager did nothing. Poor on quantity, poor on quality and no taste. I would have wished they change back and learn from these posts and get good quality food. read more

I like the food here, it is consistent and the staff is always nice, but I am giving it only 2 stars because the bathrooms are always filthy. There is a film that always covers the sinks and counters, handprints everywhere, and dust on dispensers, tile, etc. Also, the floor is very sticky. Gross, gross, gross. This is not just the kind of dirty that a bathroom gets in a few hours, it is the type of dirty that comes from infrequent and careless cleanings. We ordered food from here. The spring rolls tasted like vinegar and the meal tasted worse than a microwave dinner. The chicken was clearly frozen and reheated and the broccoli was still frozen. I used to like this place, but the food we got tonight was awful! I ordered spring rolls and the wrap was a limp sickly beige and the filling was unidentifiable. Main course was Kung pao beef. It came with no sauce at all. Dry meat and vegetables on a bed of white rice. I don't believe the meat ever came in contact with a sauce. My husband ordered Dan Dan noodles. With two hungry kids in tow, we went to Pei Wei in Allen on McDermott for what we thought would be a very fast meal. So it was surprising and disappointing when we didn't get our dishes even 20 minutes after ordering and waiting. I went to the counter to confirm if my order went in. The server confirmed that it had, and assured me that it will just take another 2 minutes. Another 10 minutes passed but still nothing!!!! This time I did not keep my voice low and raised a bit of a ruckus. Finally the food arrived...we quickly gulped down the faux Chinese food, with fizz-less beverages and promised never to return again. Update: I really love the Polynesian bowl but the staff has got to get it together... the last time I picked up my food they forgot my rice!!!! And they gave me fried rice for my orange chicken instead of steamed rice.. this wasn't the first time the staff has been wrong with my food ------------------------------------------- The Polynesian poke bowl is excellent. The best part is that the serving is HUGE! Can't finish it on my own so I usually have to share. The chili sauce that's in the bowl is delicious and I love how there's a lot of veggies for flavor. For those that don't like cilantro, make sure to ask for the bowl without it since there's quite a lot of cilantro. The tuna in the bowl is decent quality. I haven't tried anything else from Pei Wei yet, but looking forward to other stuff on the menu. Definitely higher quality than somewhere like Panda Express. This is my wife's favorite place to eat. I have been coming here with her for many years. We travel a lot and frequent Pei Wei's at other locations and I've been very pleased with the food quality as a whole. Unfortunately my experience here in Allen has not been very good. It's really either hit or miss. I have even tried new or different dishes hoping for a better results. Many times the vegetables are undercooked or still very cold to the touch. The service is usually great and everyone working there is friendly. I've never had to wait very long for a dine in order or a to go order. The few times I had to wait 20-30 min was during a dinner rush and every table was full so it was expected. The one negative thing I have to say is the food is always drowning in sauce and very salty. When you eat asian fast food or fast food in general you don't expect restaurant quality food. You can also expect some over saltiness, but this is a whole different story. It literally dries out all the moisture from my mouth and I have to gulp water after every bite. I occasionally eat at two other locations in the area and the sauce and saltiness are at about 1/3 of their level. Maybe they need to tone it down and I'd be happy to give it five stars! read more

But today, after a long day with a sick child and both my husband and I having a hard day at work, all we wanted was to treat ourselves to delivery so chose Pei Wei. The shop forgot to include a side of rice for our child. Mistakes happen. So my picky 7 yr old could have her rice, I called to let them know and was planning to ask them to have it ready for me to come get. They told me I had to call the delivery service! I told them I didn't choose the delivery service and used their app. I asked to speak to the manager. He would not give me his name but also told me I needed to call the delivery service. I asked who bagged our food but he would not answer and told me I had to call the delivery service and that Pei Wei does not have an app to order food from? What? I asked for corporate offices number so I could make them aware someone had an app using their name. He wouldn't give me a number. Tonight we called in with pick up To Go order. I ordered the Honey Seared Chicken. The white rice was hard, no taste appeared to be under cooked, left out and/or from a cancelled order. The chicken was dry and a bit hard. Very disappointed with the quality with both of our dishes. My wife ordered a noodle and vegetables dish that was also below par in taste and quality. Reading other negative reviews from prior loyal customers is clear why they no longer go to this location due to the declining poor quality of food over time. We ordered vegetable fried rice, chow mein with vegetables and tofu and Korean spicy with chicken. The fried rice tasted weird and burnt. It wasn't edible. The Korean spicy was equally bad. This place is horrible. Everything is over salted and zero flavor. The orange chicken and noodles tasted like water and salt. The noodles looked spaghetti and had no flavor. The Kung Pao Chicken was very salty, the sauce was tasteless, and the rice was dry. As for the chicken lettuce wraps, I can't even put into words what I tasted. All I can say is I spit it out.
