So I went here for lunch, and was not very impressed. I ordered a half order of chicken fried rice and an order of crab Rangoon. That cost $4 more than the lunch combos! Worst delivery service EVER!!! The delivery driver in his white Tesla drove into my driveway, walked to the front door, rang the doorbell, set the food down and walked away. It was 31deg outside and our food was sitting on the porch. By the time my wife walked the thirty feet from the family room to the door he was pulling out of the driveway and she didn't see the food on the porch because it was blocked by a planter. I called to complain and the manager said he was busy and couldn't stand there for the 20 seconds it takes to walk to the door. He actually said did you expect him to wait for you to get to the door? Just a warning to everyone, this place is horrible!! I found a fingernail in my food years ago, went into the restaurant to confront them and the manager said it couldn't have happened here. They also have many jumbo shrimp entrees. However, if your from the coast... these are medium/regular sized shrimp, not really jumbo If you spend $30, check the back of the paper menu. There are many coupons to give you bonus items (Free Appetizer etc... ) If you get a combination plate, add a cup of soup for less than 50 cents. This location also has delivery drivers. the Wok Express on Dorset Rd has become hit or miss with me the last few times I ordered there. The fried shrimp appetizer was so hard and overcooked i could barely bite into it and when I did the taste was terrible. Another time I ordered the egg fu young {sp.} and the taste was so bad I had to spit it out. It was not even in patty form it was in chunks. I called the restaurant to complain and they insisted the chef cooked it the same as possible. However, the owner was very gracious and said the next time I ordered from there he would take the price of the egg fu young {sp.} off the total and he did. Yesterday evening I ordered the chicken lo mein with added crab sticks. It smelled so bad and the taste was worse. Our family has been going to Wok Express for nearly 20 years, and we don't plan on stopping any time soon. The staff is always friendly and willing to help with any issues, the food is delicious, prices are great, and service is quick! Even when I moved to Kirkwood for several years, I would go out of my way to get food from here. One of my family members now lives in Ballwin and they still only choose Wok Express! I called and ordered for takeout (they do have delivery for a minimal fee as well). The employee was helpful and my order was ready when I got there (early from their quote). All this was great. The food presentation was great and everything looked tasty. My disappointment is 2 fold - flavor and quality. We ordered our usual: large chicken fried rice, beef and broccoli combo dinner, crab rangoon, fried wonton and an order of egg foo young gravy (was about $24). The rice was not to my liking.... It wasn't bad necessarily, just not what I prefer. It was like yellow and kinda mushy as opposed to a dark brown and firm. The crab rangoon and wontons both looked large and crispy - problem is there was almost NOTHING inside. I could not even find a piece of beef in the wonton - it was like shredded and so little that the pouch (where the beef should be) didn't poof out :( Similar with crab rangoon - it did have a poof out but almost no filling. The egg foo young gravy was tasty and I did like it. Overall I will not be back because the wonton and rangoons are lacking. They cost about $7 together - I cannot pay that for crispy wonton wrappers with no filling. read more

Crab Rangoon was sour and straight cream cheese. Sauce was good and spicy but the chicken was terrible. Very chewy and over cooked breading. Several pieces had hard bits that couldn't be chewed. Honey chicken combination plate- rice and crab Rangoon same as above. Chicken was supposed to be white meat but couldn't eat most of it. Was very hard, stringy pieces. Ended up throwing away. Healthy choice chicken and broccoli- the only good dish. Chicken and broccoli was steamed. Only flavor was from the garlic sauce but tastes the best of all the food we purchased. We used to frequent the restaurant when we lived up the road years ago. It's a shame they have gone downhill so much. We won't return. read more

This is quite possibly the closest I have found to the "Springfield Style" since we came to the area. Really, really good Crispy Chicken with fried rice. So, I'm tired of poor customer service from this restaurant!! When there's a complication or issue with the order, they are quick to tell you that it's your fault. Language barrier or not!
