Very typical Korean Chinese place. Good variety of noodles & favorites. Prices are very reasonable, especially for the fancy dishes like cold platter ($15.95) & Yu Shan sa (three delicacies also at $15.95). Food isn't great but good and taste like they are supposed to. Portions are ginormous so it's easy to order too much food. My favorites are the fried potstickers (fried completely like I remember back in Korea), jjambong noodles, jajangmyun, tangsuyuk and spicy noodle platter which is my favorite. It's not as refined as Yu's Mandarin but still very tasty. read more

A hidden gem. My family has been coming to this restaurant since I can remember. Now that I have a family of my own, I want to continue that tradition. My fiancé was hooked on our first date here. The quality of the food and the service are always excellent. My favorite has always been the Mongolian beef and chicken wings. OMG. I almost don't want to yelp this place because I don't want it to become overcrowded but WOW. Hands down best spicy fried chicken, sweet and sour pork, and black bean noodles I've ever had...which is saying a lot because I'm Korean and from California. Come check it out for yourself. Portions are HUGE. I came with my boyfriend and we eat a lot but had plenty of leftovers when we ordered the 3 dishes. It could comfortably feed 3 or even 4. As per recommendations by fellow yelp reviewers, I tried sweet and sour pork, the chicken wings and the black bean noodles. I didn't like the black bean noodles. However, the people were right..the portion sizes are way too large and I couldn't finish the black bean noodles even though I was sharing with my sister. The sweet and sour pork & the chicken wings are really delicious. However, I only tried a few pieces because I was full..So beware of the large food portions. I am going back again and again. Good seafood noodle soup better than other ones i've tried before

Probably my favorite Chinese food in the city. Inside its not too shabby, but when your in the mood for some good greasy Chinese comfort food this is the place! Most people in this area flock to great seas for the famous lollipop wings, but this place should not be overlooked. Their version of the lollipop wings are very good too, but my 2 go to dishes would have to be the boneless sweet and spicy chicken and the Mongolian beef (extra spicy). The portions are huge and the two dishes can probably stretch another 1 or 2 meals. read more

Amazing food! And BYOB but there is not a bottle opener in the house. They will look at your bottle of wine as if it's a novelty item.

Where should I start with this review? This is my favorite restaurant, I guess I have more of a personal connection to it, but anyone I bring there cannot deny that the food there is beyond fantastic. I strongly recommend ordering the beef (or shrimp if you are into that) fried rice and wonton soup. Employees will not hesitate to adjust your food to fit more to your liking like getting rid of bean sprouts from your already delicious rice or adding extra baby corn to your scrumptious wonton soup. This rating is based only on the jja jang myun and jjam pong. Very good compared to most other korean restaurants in Chicago , but pales in comparison to the "real stuff" that you can easily find for $7-8 in other cities like Toronto, NYC, LA. I guess beggars can't be choosers, right? Noodles were pretty good, but not chewy as they should be. Too much jja jang myun sauce, and too many filler vegetables in the jjam pong -- it's supposed to be brimming with seafood, not cabbage. However, it does earn 3 stars for Chicago. Love this place! This is where I go to get my jajanmyun + tangseeu fix. Also really enjoy the Spiced fried pork as well. Tea/White rice is complimentary (as it should be!) and the service is actually really friendly and nice (they speak English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish very well). By far the best Chinese food I've ever had. Beef with broccoli, spicy chicken, and seriously the best egg rolls on this planet. I have not been able to find any place since going here that has better Chinese. I live in the suburbs of Chicago and will gladly travel 45 mins to this place. You have to try it. read more

I have had a few ups and downs with this place, but after learning more about the menu I have nothing horrible to say. When I used to eat meat my favorite dishes were the Hot Wing (in a chili sauce), the mongolian beef served spicy, and the combanation fried rice. However now that I am vegan I realize exactly how accomidating they are. I asked the waitress if the cook could do a vegan variation on the mongolian beef. She came back to the table with Mongolian broccoli with garlic, bell pepers, and bok choy served over rice. It was awesome. I would recommend that anyone try it atleast once.... meat eaters and vegans alike. read more

First time trying this place. We didn't call ahead and ordered it to go. I ordered a combination fried rice and egg rolls. It looks somewhat pleasing to the eye but everything was super bland, mostly colorless and I'm pretty sure they use frozen peas & carrots in the rice. I had to use a lot of soy sauce in the rice and load my egg rolls in sweet/sour sauce & chili sauce to liven it up. I bit into some chicken tendons. That was not helpful either. I can't speak to their entrees but their fried rice and egg rolls were a no go for me. read more

this place feels like an asian/mexican diner.. it's pretty sweet because I never see any place like that around this side of chicago. only reason why i say mexican though is because of the workers and patrons. food is really good. i'm between great beijing and here for jjajangmyun.. so good. this place is more watery/less oily with plenty of veggies and meat per bite. i give it 5 stars because i'm very satisfied with the portion, taste, and service. quick to respond with your requests (WATER!). best of all, the asian owner(?) that can fluently speak english, chinese, spanish, and korean.. and has the charm of a diner server. quaint. read more

Korean-Chinese cuisine is not something you can find at either Korean or a Chinese restaurant, it's a special subset, a cuisine all its own. I love their jajamyung (black bean sauce noodles). Best Jjajangmyun, Korean style black bean noodles, I be had in Chicago. Da batter fried sweet and sour pork is right on da money. Git da sauz on the side if you don't like the crispy exterior to get soggy. Da jjampong is also beast, spicy seafood noodle soup. Comes with spicy pickled cabbage and pickled yellow radish. I would give this review a 5 star but the only thing that makes it a 4 is the fact that one or your employees were like touching and rubbing my moms back and saying that he's gonna be my feature dad and that made me feel really uncomfortable. Unfriendly and unclean. My boyfriend brought me here first the time when we first started dating. It's been almost three years, and I think we have eaten here more than at other restaurant. We've tried a lot of the choices, and they are all delicious. The only bad thing is that they get too busy around a holiday and rush orders, which gets a little confusing if you call your order in like everyone else does. This is definitely not the place to go on a first date. Waitresses are fast and the food is seasoned to perfection. Also, not expensive. I recommend the sizzling soup, beef with vegetables, and combination rice. Everything here tastes amazing and their menu is not over loaded with options. Solid Chinese and I'm not much of a Chinese food lover. As others have said the Mongolian Beef is that good- beef is very tender and the favors are spot in. Decor is a mix btw a 70s chinese diner, and an outdated basement- but the food and service is solid. read more

Came here because its close to home and had good yelp reviews. Were not disappointed. Had the crab Rangoon which had a generous amount of filling but breading was dark moat likely from old oil. We did go only one hour before close so if they had a busy day we had the end of the oil used for the day probably. They still tasted good. Same with the egg rolls, but they too tasted good. We had the hot wings #32 on the menu & it was tasty! Free rice & nice hot green tea, I think it tasted like Jasmine green tea which was also good. Maybe we didn't order the right things, but everything was pretty bland. We had the sliced three seafood, cha chiang mein, egg rolls, and black mushrooms with tofu. The egg rolls are home made but need more flavor in our opinion. Food was ready when promised and service was fine. read more
