We had a reservation for 5 people at 7pm Sunday evening. I had never eaten at this restaurant before and was looking forward to trying it as it came with excellent reviews. We arrived 5 minutes early and were seated after about 10 minutes.... At 7:30p we were still sitting at the table with no water, drinks, and no waitress... I inquired at the front desk as other customers had come and were seated with their drink orders taken. I should have read the reviews before I went to Peking Sunrise I would have never have gone there. I thought my order was pretty simple shrimp egg foo young NO BEAN SPROUTS I get home sit down to eat and what is in my egg foo young.... you guessed it BEAN SPROUTS. I can't stand to eat them they freak me out feel like worms in my mouth so I always make it a point to ask them to please don't put in bean sprouts. I gave the food to my boyfriend who didn't like what he got either. He had the pork drunk noodle that was mostly noodle and no pork. He said they over cooked the shrimp . I don't get it that is the simplest item to make and they messed that up. So if you don't mind not getting what you ordered and food that is over cooked go right ahead and enjoy. Been back at it again. Friday night chinese food sounded good so went to Peking which only took cash as Cards were reported as not working. Placed order, did an errand and then picked food up to take home. PuPu platter was a disapointment. All greasy and very little in the portion. Chicken fingers were chewy so means over cooked. Orange chicken is what we ordered and kind of had the taste of it. Sauce was poured into the bottom of the container. Resembeled brownish color water. The chicken(I will simply call chicken nuggets) were placed on top so most of the chicken was not coated nor even splashed by that brown water while drivig home. Vegetable Mei Fun, plenty of rice noodles, just wish they put more veggies so we did not have to fight to get what was there. They gave us white rice for this one and I have never have seen such a small take away box for rice. Glad we got a small pork fried rice. That box was also smaller than usual, but this too like the PuPu platter felt greasy. Last was hot and sour soup. That was not bad, just not spicey nor sour so glad I had stuff to add and make it work. Also added other veggies to make it a realy soup. We waited for at least five minutes before even being greeted even though there was staff around us. The menu was extremely limited - not the options shown on the website. The mixed drinks were terrible- almost all alcohol and no mix. The food was delivered Luke- warm at best. My meal had different ingredients than what was listed on the menu. We looked up the hours and saw that they close at 8 pm. We arrived at 6:30 pm. One person in our party of three was in a wheelchair and they refused to sit us at a table that would accommodate her. When we said the wheelchair wouldn't fit at the suggested table, they said we couldn't sit in any other section. (Plenty of tables) When we asked why we couldn't sit at an available table, they said they were only going to take an order for the one table that had people and they were closing the kitchen. My friend and I ate here tonight and frankly, are having a hard time understanding the negative reviews. Our experience was quite positive. We found the food to be well prepared, fresh, hot and delicious. It was delivered very quickly, and the portions were extremely generous. I will agree that the service could stand a little improvement. Our server, Kim (a manager??), while not exactly "rude" could have been a bit friendlier and more welcoming. Great food and even better service. Every time we come in, it's Saturday night and we are seated within five minutes. It's great. Now that they offer the buffet, it's our go to! The buffet is awesome; they have all the Chinese options you'd expect to see like general tso chicken, sesame chicken, lo mein, beef & broccoli, spare ribs, teriyaki chicken sticks and the list goes on. Just ate here after a long hike. We picked this restaurant despite the star rating. The menu had all the typical Chinese entrees, but they also had sushi, Thai, and Vietnamese Pho. I Love Peking!!! This is our go to Chinese in NH. My boyfriend and I go here every time we are in North Conway. This is one of our favorite Chinese places, period. The food is delicious. I love their chicken fingers and crab rangoons. They have some of the best duck sauce too. They are great for take out or to eat there. Ate there last night based on glowing recommendation of hotel front desk clerk upon arrival in North Conway. Three adults. We ordered Scallion Pancakes, and Ginger Chicken and Scallions Casserole. The Scallion Pancakes were burned and therefore dried out. The sauce was very salty. The Casserole was pretty small for $16.75. We had tasted this dish for the first time in Lenox, Mass; it was so good we were excited to see someone else had it and ordered it. (The size in the Lenox restaurants was almost double for about the same price). The one here had a sauce that was too salty to eat. I commented to the waitress about the salt and she said maybe I was not "used to" Chinese food (I'm from NYC, and I've been eating Chinese food for over 50 years). She offered some egg foo yung sauce and mentioned that the chef told her that sugar would offset the salty taste. The dish also had regular onions cut up and mixed in, nothing you'd find a real Chinese chef doing. This seems to be an American owned, managed and staffed restaurant with a Chinese food name. DO NOT EAT HERE. The chef over-salts the food until it is not palatable. I have never written a restaurant review before, however the food was so awful that the reader should know. I wanted sesame beef and they would not make it even though they had sesame chicken on the menu. Why am I giving 2 stars instead of 3-4? The process are outrageous. I'm from Providence. My daughter and I had lunch there and she ordered a vegetarian dish that supposed to come with white rice, instead it came with pork fried rice. We have eaten here several times since the new owner took over and have not had one good meal there. I have 2 free meals because i had ordered take out and they forgot the rice. I do not believe that I will ever use them. The staff is not very friendly, the person that sat us acted like we were interupting her. Who puts canned peas and canned carrots in sub gum chow mein ?Also with jelled gummy sauce, absolutely terrible. The chicken wings were reheated, not crisp whatsoever as they should be.
