We went on a Friday evening at peak time, it was packed. We had no wait because they were very efficient with their seating and service! Great energy/ambiance in the restaurant and fantastic food. Pasta is made in house and tasty. The staff is knowledgeable and patient when it comes to newcomers. It's Tapas style so be sure to order a few plates to share!

Service was wonderful and food was great! I was honestly very skeptical when the waitress recommended the broccolini and it was truly one of my favorite dishes. The only thing that I left skeptical about is the fact that we were celebrating two birthdays at the table and they provided a sparkler wrapped in a napkin.. the sparkler was a nice gesture but the presentation could have been better for a restaurant of this level.

Pelato is a Brooklyn inspired tapas spot that is perfect for a date night! I believe it is a sister restaurant to Luogo which is one of my favorite Italian restaurant in Nashville. You can absolutely feel the energy when you walk into the place that gives you Italy vibe. Their food is amazing. I would recommend to get about 2-3 dishes per person. Cocktails were curated and prepared perfectly. They make their own pasta and it's so tasty. We started with the Butrata Crostini, meatballs, lemon pasta and every dish was amazing. The service was very fast and our server was so attentive and accommodating which made our evening very special.

Pelato is super popular in Nashville right now, so I had high hopes for my visit. Sadly, I was SO disappointed. Firstly, no onsite parking downtown is always a con. Secondly, the indoor acoustics are overwhelmingly loud and it was difficult to hear my husband across the table. We ordered a couple plates per person, re the waitress's suggestion, but the only thing I'd order again is the garlic bread. We came to celebrate our second anniversary, which was acknowledged. However, the vodka pasta tasted like canned Alfredo with red pepper in it. The pork ragu was way too salty, and the arancini was too bland. I was expecting to taste the guanciale in the arancini but I did not. The meatballs were average, salty, and featured many strong Italian spices. The calamari was one of the better dishes. The peppers on top were a nice touch. I don't recommend Pelato at their price point for the quality. I've lived in Italy for a few months and even the worst fare there was better than my meal tonight.

I don't understand the hype of this place. I thought that the drinks and apps were pretty good. We went for my friend's birthday and they sat us in this weird back room claiming had a good view when it was light out, but it was dark so it was just kind of weird. And then our waiter checked in on us almost excessively until we were waiting an extra 20 minutes after the rest of our food came out for our chicken Parm. I understand that it's a tapas style as it's ready situation, but we did tell them one of our friends had a gluten allergy and all her food came out after ours so it was a little bit awkward and we felt bad because she was waiting to eat. I thought that the rigatoni vodka that everyone hyped up was not good. It was gummy and cold. I just don't think it was worth over $400 for 4 people. I might need to retry and just do drinks and apps time!

You walk into Pelato thinking you've got it figured out. Italian food. Sit down. Order a couple plates. Eat. Leave. Not here. Pelato flips the script in the best way possible. It's high end, deeply authentic Italian, but served in a way that feels more like a night in Barcelona than Rome. Small plates. Shareable. Meant for conversation, for passing dishes, for that moment where someone across the table says "you have to try this" and they're absolutely right. We started with the pasta in vodka sauce. Rich, velvety, and dialed in. The kind of dish that makes you pause for a second because it hits exactly the way you want it to. Then the baked clams showed up. And look, I don't throw this around. Best baked clams I've had in 25 years. Not close. Perfect balance, perfect texture, just flat out incredible. The meatballs came next and didn't miss. Flavor packed, cooked right, gone faster than expected. Then the baked ziti. Big, bold, creamy. Pasta cooked exactly how it should be. Maybe could've used a touch more sauce, but that's nitpicking. Still a strong dish. The space ties it all together. Converted warehouse, right off the river, with a vibe that just works. It feels a little tucked away, a little like you found something you weren't supposed to. Parking's in the back in a paid lot, easy enough. Five stars. Not just for the food, but for the experience. This is the kind of place you go to enjoy the whole night, not just the meal.

For my son's birthday, we booked a reservation at Pelato on a Sunday night. He loves Italian food, and this Nashville spot delivers. And we were able to book using my Chase Sapphire Reserve, so we had a $150 dining credit to cover a majority of the cost. Since it was Sunday night, Pelato offered its special Sunday Sauce (aka Sunday Gravy) family-style pasta and meat dish. Sunday Sauce comes with a variety of meats baked in a special marinara sauce that felt like home. They have a limited quantity of these dishes every Sunday, and we literally ordered the last one available for the night. We also ordered a side of garlic bread (delicious, but would be better if it were covered in mozzarella), crispy garlic potatoes (amazing!), and crispy fried calamari with candied peppers (my wife's fave). The restaurant itself has a lively atmosphere, which contributes to the overall noise level. It's rather small inside, but Pelato makes good use of the space. For my son's birthday, they brought out a sparkling dish of ice cream. We also ordered the Nutella ice cream and a bag of the San Gennaro Zeppoles (which are basically freshly made donut holes or beignets with powdered sugar).

one of the best italian restaurants i've been to recently!! a couple cons- it took our reserved table for 8 an additional 20-25 mins to be prepared when we arrived, which was just a few minutes after our reservation time at 9pm on saturday night. luckily we were able to snag some bach trip photos outside while we waited, but it was a bit annoying we had to wait at all. however it was super busy at that time saturday night so it made sense. another "con" i should mention in case anyone has a preference for this- one of my friends didn't like how all the food came out so rapidly, but honestly, i didn't really mind this. it did feel a little "chaotic", but i was in awe of their efficient service and servers. a last con (so i guess more than a couple) is that when it came time for us to want our check, our server was nowhere to be found, despite being around for the rest of the meal. so it took us like 10 minutes to be able to get our check. it was the very end of the restaurant's opening time (11pm) so i'm sure this played a role, but that was a bit annoying. now in terms of all the great things about this restaurant- the service was mostly very efficient and the servers were very friendly. they had plenty of servers and staff so it made for a bustling experience. the food was AMAZING. a few of my notable favorites- the SHRIMP CAMPANELLE was DELICIOUS. very lemony flavor to warn those who prefer something more subtle. the broccolini, one of their more popular dishes, also met expectations. it had an asian kinda flavor- they specifically said a black garlic flavor. the polenta was also great - i've never had a polenta with bolognese sauce. the crostini was also great. and my cucumber spritz drink was super refreshing and yummy. overall, this was a truly amazing dining experience. they did mention the plates were small and kinda like tapas style but honestly the dishes were bigger than expected. our server recommended 2-3 dishes per person, and honestly i disagree. we ordered maybe about 12-14 dishes (i think?) for a party of 8, and we did have leftovers. honestly i really didn't mind the leftovers because it meant we were able to try more of their dishes, but just be mindful of how much you order id say. super happy with our experience here!! this was a highlight of my quick trip to nashville. i don't have that many good photos of the food this time, so source is 'just trust me bro'

Pelato is one of the best Italian spots I've been to in Nashville. The food was fresh, full of flavor, and everything we ordered came out perfectly. The homemade pasta really stood out, and you can tell they put a lot of care into every dish. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere made it a great place for dinner. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

I'll start by saying the food was delicious. I wasn't intending to leave a review initially, b/c I took my concerns to management, & they assured me that they would take better care of us next time if we decided to return. However, I spoke w/ a friend who had a near identical experience as my group did, so I can't help but share as a heads-up to anyone wanting to check them out: they close for lunch @ 2pm. Our reservation was for 1:30p. No one alerted us of this until 10 min before the kitchen closed. This was a surprise birthday. The birthday girl was on her way, but there was an enormous amount of pressure on us to hurry up & order anyway. The cook spent that 10 min staring daggers at our table. I'm talking arms crossed, mean-mugging us until we figured out our entire tables order. The food came out incredibly fast, so I'm not sure why he was so stressed about it. It didn't take him long at all to make. Then, after rushing through our meal we were informed that they don't split checks! The only person out of the 7 of us that had $300+ on one credit card was the birthday girl herself. SHE had to pay, and we all had to venmo her. Also, gratuity is included it turns out, so there was no way to tip the server separately. We probably won't be back. Had they let us know any of this ahead of time we could have been better prepared. The service was simply not good. The server became annoying, as she was rushing us the entire time. This place is entirely too expensive to offer this poor of an experience. Then for my friend who came in separately w/ her group to tell me the same story of discontent solidified my feelings about Pelato. read more

AUGURI! This place is amazing! I am a native New Yorker, first/second generation Sicilian. We had the bocollini, arancini, panelle, pignoli, and croquet; there are NY restaurants that need to take a few lessons from Pelato! The only thing I would say is sell the dang Manhattan soda, Please, we can't find it anywhere else. Our server was such a delight & made great recommendations! Teresa also stopped by the table & checked in throughout the dinner- made some great local food shopping recommendations for a NYer moving to the south. We will be back and we are SOOOO excited to have some much overdue, authentic, Italian/Sicilian food in TN!!! read more

Italian comfort food might not be your first thought for a weekend brunch in Nashville but I have a feeling it's only a matter of time before more people realize how good the food is, and how nice of an atmosphere the space provides. You can't go wrong with sitting on the patio while eating a delicious meal and drinking a cocktail early in the day. The brunch menu is tight and focused on the savory side of the spectrum with the only exception being an Italian French toast (that sounds delicious) It's a great chance to give several dishes from Pelato a try in smaller portions than you would expect to find at a dinner service. I finally decided on the radiatori vodka sauce pasta and the whipped baccala. The vodka sauce was excellent and reminded me of a place back home in Upstate NY. It's definitely authentic Italian without a doubt. The whipped baccala was equally delicious on the polenta. The two dishes were the perfect pair but man I really wanted to try the eggplant parm stuffed bread. I guess I'll have to save that for a future visit! Cocktail note: I love a good Bloody Mary and Pelato offers one with a meatball. I was surprised to see a Luogo label on a bottle of olive oil but a quick Google search let me know that both restaurants are under the same ownership. Pelato is a chance to experience great Italian food in a relaxed atmosphere. Needless to say if you've enjoyed Luogo, you should pay a visit to Pelato. Also of note: Pleato has just expanded their hours and are now open on Monday's for dinner. read more

Ho Ho at Pelato Italian absolutely delivered an incredible dining experience, and a huge part of that was thanks to our server, Ho Ho. From the minute we sat down, Ho Ho was warm, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome. Absolutely a MUST. This was divine. We went for a special birthday celebration. They did not disappoint. The atmosphere was amazing. Very chill and also eclectic. 5 STAR!!! So approachable, so delicious, so authentic- I'll be back and I'll be back often. ORDER THE RADIATORI ALLA VODKA!!! I just went to Carbone 2 days ago in NYC and as soon as I tried this pasta here I was transported back...except this is better. The portions were great too, first time I've experienced a "small plate" vibe at an Italian restaurant and I loved it- I could try everything without feeling overly stuffed. The chicken parm, burnt broccolini, and garlic bread were some of my other favorites. I ate them too fast to get a picture if I'm being honest... Ending the night with pignoli cookies and the cloud IS A MUST. read more

I am amazed at how expensive this restaurant was for tapas sized portions. The food itself was good but not anything special. Not worth it in my opinion. There are far better restaurants in Nashville with better prices. Service was fine and the vibe of the restaurant was also just 'okay'. Neither made the prices feel more justified. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant as it felt like a waste of $220 for 2 people to eat, have a couple drinks, and leave not feeling full. read more

i was amazed . it started with amazing service. the second we sat down we were offered by our server Tricia. She kept the experience amazing delivering dishes and drinks through out our dining experience! To say the food is delicious is actually not being fair . The food was so satisfying to and amazing I didn't want my experience to end. i had something from all four groups , five if you count desert. We all ordered something different . Great food, attentive service and excellent ambiance. We arrived around 7:15 on a Tuesday and the place was packed. By 8:30 when we left it was starting to slow but the front area tables were still full and buzzing. They staff this place really well. You don't wait for anything. We had the burnt broccoli, meatballs, cacio de pepe, and pasta w/ vodka sauce. All so delicious and plenty of food for the two of us. We took a meatball home for leftovers but otherwise licked our plates, I can't imagine how much cream this place goes through in a day but it's worth it and doesn't feel to heavy with the small plates portions. Finished with the chocolate hazelnut gelato... a little salty to me but otherwise incredible. read more

We went here for lunch today and we both really enjoyed it. It is a small plate and shareable dish style restaurant. The sign says it's Brooklyn style Italian. You cant go wrong with fresh made pastas and sauces. The interior is clean and cozy. They have patio seating along with bar seating. They have a large selection of beers and wines. It's a little bit above moderate prices as ordering 4 to 6 dishes can add up, but the food quality is there and everything we tried was very flavorful. The service was very good and we had a manager check on us to make sure we didn't need anything. There is a small parking lot almost right next door that has about 15 spots and it was $5.00 for 1 hour. We were in and out in right under the hour. There is street parking but you have to get lucky to get a street spot. Check the business hours as they shut down at 2:00 then reopen at 5:00 on the weekends and open for dinner Monday- Thursday. Closed on Friday. I will be going back when I'm in Germantown. read more

Went for a celebration with a party of 7 and the manager refused to not charge us the group minimum for parties of 10 or above. Pelato is a consistent 5/5 for us, but out last visit had to drop a star. The new shrimp and lemon pasta was not very good at all, we didn't even finish it. Very fishy, not lemony, undercooked shrimp. Vodka pasta, broccolini and little ear were all great as usually. We sat at the bar, bartender was great conversation and as always the place was poppin, even though it was closer to closing time. Will be back, but would stay away from the new pasta. The seasoning was delicious, but I would have liked to experience more of the actual dish and ingredients. The sauce was good, and the mashed potatoes underneath were a nice touch. Service was okay, although I would have appreciated being checked on a little more often. I also asked for a cup of sparkling water but received and was charged for a large bottle, even though I was dining alone.

Absolutely appalled and beyond disappointed with our experience at Pelato. This was one of the most frustrating, misleading, and disrespectful dining experiences we have ever had. From the beginning, Pelato failed to properly disclose major policies both online and in person. There was no clear communication that checks could only be split into four separate payments, which is extremely inconvenient for larger groups. Even worse, there was a strict $65 minimum spending requirement per person that was not properly disclosed when booking or upon arrival. Our group spent around $300, yet we were still told we needed to spend an additional $300 more to satisfy their policy. Hidden financial expectations like this felt deceptive, misleading, and incredibly aggravating. Management then shifted blame onto us, implying it was somehow our fault for not meeting the minimum because we did not order dessert. Being told that customers are responsible for reaching an undisclosed minimum by purchasing unnecessary extras was absurd. The manager even stated she had already provided "the policy" to the customer, despite the fact that we clearly did not knowingly agree to or pay under properly disclosed terms. When concerns were raised, the manager repeatedly stated there was "nothing they could do" because it was a strict policy. We were then escalated to the operations manager, who only made matters worse. She claimed to know the rules, yet admitted there was nowhere obvious to even find the contract and stated she herself could not properly locate it. Despite aggressively enforcing the policy, she refused to provide the contract when requested and could not produce immediate proof of what we had supposedly agreed to. Rather than resolving the issue professionally, the operations manager became loud, hostile, and deeply disrespectful. She stated she would be willing to call the police on us simply because she could not provide the contract until later. This level of escalation was unnecessary, intimidating, and completely unprofessional. To make matters worse, management repeatedly implied that because Pelato is considered a "#1" restaurant, if we did not enjoy the meal or experience, that was somehow our fault. This arrogant attitude was incredibly insulting. Instead of listening to legitimate concerns, they dismissed them and acted as though customers should simply accept hidden fees, poor communication, and disappointing quality without question. Their only flexibility was allowing for one guest difference, and they refused to assist beyond that. Parking was also a major issue, with little to no nearby options, adding unnecessary stress before even entering the restaurant. The food itself was nowhere near worth the cost. Meals averaged around $75 per person, yet the quality and portion sizes were severely underwhelming. The shrimp ravioli is presented as a shared plate, yet you only receive one piece, which feels absurd for the price. The calzone was unexpectedly spicy, and the meatballs were also too spicy for some guests. For the amount charged, the food quality and quantity were simply not justified. To make the experience even worse, there were repeated whiffs of rotten eggs or sewage throughout the restaurant, creating an incredibly unpleasant dining environment. The taxes and additional charges also felt excessively high, adding to the overall feeling that customers were being taken advantage of from every possible angle. Overall, Pelato's hidden fees, lack of transparency, misleading policies, poor food value, sewage odors, inability to provide proper contractual documentation, aggressive management, and shockingly disrespectful customer service created an experience that felt far more exploitative than enjoyable. In the long run, experiences like this only leave customers hungry enough to take their business somewhere else. read more

Night 2 in Nashville and we booked Pelato after seeing a bunch of glowing reviews... and yeah, they earned them. From the street it looks like a quaint spot, but once you walk in you realize it's way bigger than it looks and the staff is on it right away. Friendly, quick to get you seated, and you can tell they run a tight ship. Everything is tapas-style with shareable portions, which is dangerous if you're with someone who says "let's just get a couple things" (because you won't). Also if you come at peak dinner time, expect a bit of a wait for the main pasta, just relax and lean into it, because it's absolutely worth it. We started with the garlic bread and I'm not being dramatic when I say we had to actively stop ourselves from finishing the whole plate immediately. Buttery, perfectly toasted, and loaded with flavor. Get the dipping sauce, and do yourself a favor... save a piece or two for later because it becomes elite when paired with pasta. Next up was the Pelato salad, a big portion (enough for 3-4ppl) and completely worth it. Super fresh, packed with ingredients, dressed with the perfect amount of oregano vinaigrette, and ridiculously easy to keep eating even when you're "just having a few bites." Then came the crispy garlic potatoes with garlic aioli... and wow. Crispy outside, fluffy inside, shaved parmesan on top this could honestly pass as a main dish if you didn't know better. The meatballs were next to make it to the table. They came out warm (not piping hot) the flavor, texture, and sauce made up for it. Still a really solid order and worth every bite. Last to hit the table was the radiatori vodka, and that's the moment everything made sense. Creamy, packed with flavor, and the homemade radiatori noodles held onto the sauce perfectly. My final bites were a little pasta + a little meatball + a little garlic bread and it was basically a mic drop. We ate so much we didn't even have room for dessert, which is my only regret... but that just means we have a reason to go back. If you're in Nashville and want a meal that feels like a full-on experience, Pelato needs to be on your list. read more

This was one of the most frustrating dining experiences I've had in a long time. The food was good and our server was kind, but unfortunately that's where the positives end. Throughout our meal, multiple ceiling vents were dripping water directly onto our table, our food, and our guests. This is completely unacceptable. We brought it to our server's attention, but nothing was done to properly address the issue or accommodate us. No apology, no offer to move us, nothing. To make matters worse, there were only two bathroom stalls for a restaurant serving well over 100 people. Every time someone needed to use the washroom, there was a lineup of 10 or more women waiting. It's clear the restaurant is not set up to handle the number of guests it accommodates. The most disappointing part of the evening, however, was the way management handled our concerns. Our table of 10 was apparently required to meet a $65 per person minimum. We have no issue with restaurants having minimum spend policies, but this was never communicated to us beforehand. Instead, throughout the night our server repeatedly reminded us that we weren't meeting the minimum, which made everyone feel uncomfortable and rushed to spend more money. When we spoke to the manager to explain that the policy had never been communicated, rather than listening or trying to understand why we were frustrated, he became defensive, argumentative, and rude. He talked over us, refused to acknowledge the lack of communication, and seemed far more interested in proving he was right than providing good customer service. A simple apology or a respectful conversation would have gone a long way, but instead we left feeling dismissed and disrespected. It's incredibly disappointing when a manager chooses to argue with paying customers instead of taking accountability and trying to make the situation right. Between the water dripping on our table, the poor communication, and the unacceptable attitude from management, this is not an experience I would recommend. I had a wonderful evening at Pelato with a small group of friends. The energy hit you the moment you walked in the door -- buzzing, lively, and the kind of atmosphere that instantly makes you excited for the meal ahead. The space felt warm and packed in the best way possible, with great music, fast-moving staff, and tables all around us clearly having a great time. We basically ordered half the menu, and honestly there wasn't a miss all night. We started with the Mozzarella Caprese, Pelato Salad, Potato Croquettes, Crispy Garlic Potatoes, Burnt Broccolini, and Meatballs al Forno -- all perfect for sharing and paced really well by the kitchen. For mains, the Seafood Fra Diavolo and Campanelle Limone were both outstanding and easily the stars of the night for our table. To finish, we had the San Gennaro Zeppoles, which were the perfect ending to a big dinner. Service was excellent throughout the night. Despite how busy the restaurant was, food came out at a great pace, drinks stayed full, and the staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. This is a tough review to write because it's not necessarily a bad review about my experience AT the restaurant, it was what happened after. My co-workers and I went to Pelato last Friday night (1/31/25) and had a wonderful experience--food tasted great. Our server was fantastic and we left so happy with our experience. However, come Saturday night, I started feeling nauseous around 11:30pm. I went to bed and woke up around 1:30am and started vomiting. That continued on the rest of the morning and into the day. I vomited a total of six times. Had it been more than that, I would've gone to the hospital. I cannot remember the last time I've ever been that sick. Maybe the childhood flu? I was so sick that I had to miss work Monday and when I returned on Tuesday (today), as I finally feel somewhat normal enough, I find out that my two co-workers had also been sick. The only common denominator that we can think of is that we all ate here on Friday. Sadly, while I enjoyed my time there, I will never go back again. I don't like to write negative reviews, HOWEVER--because my sickness was as bad as it was, I feel like I have to take the time to give word of caution to anyone thinking about coming here to eat. read more

We had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious. Notably, the house mozzarella, burnt broccoli, potato croquettes, radiatori vodka, and gelato (coconut, pistachio, and chocolate hazelnut) stole the show as dishes worth revisiting multiple times. The former three dishes were as good or better than what we tasted around Europe and Italy. The attentive wait staff seamlessly delivered food and drinks. We saw at least 8 different servers and never felt a flurry of activity with dishes coming or going. We never looked up needing anything. Jordan made great food recommendations, and he led delivery with without harsh interruptions or delay. He recommended good food and appropriate portions. Every staff member had a smile on their face and seemed excited to share their personal menu recommendations when asked. The manager stopped by to ask about our meal. For a foodie family who lives out of town, we're marking Pelato as a non-negotiable Nashville stop and a top recommendation for friends. Pelato is worth it. Unfortunately after celebrating my birthday at Pelato's on 1/31/25, 7 out of the 11 people in my party got extremely sick within 48 hours. I don't like to publicly post bad reviews for restaurants so I contacted the restaurant privately this morning to inform them of our issue. After speaking to the manager, Evan, he asked me if I was dining with a coworker named Kathryn. I said no did someone else call with the same issue and was told no and that he was just covering all his bases. He told me no one has ever had an issue like this before but after I looked at Yelp, I discovered another party had the same issue the same exact night. Looking more I saw someone else had a similar issue on 1/26. Because they were not honest, I wanted to make sure that others know about this ongoing issue at their restaurant. Our whole party got sick Friday night. Violent illness from this place. Only people who didn't, did not eat chicken parm. Also don't go with parties of 8 or more they require a minimum of $65 per person and you can't split checks. So, Basically we paid for our group to barf our brains out. EDIT: The review does not allow me to comment back to the response that Evan sent but please know that no business owner should ever respond to a clear health issue, with a response of gas lighting, and victim blaming. Know that I too take this very seriously as we are all very sick, and this has been reported to the TN health and safety board. This was not ever about money, we've already paid. And the accusation is insulting. It's about the safety of our friends due to consuming what was served to us at your establishment. The way the management has treated my review is astonishing. The portions are definitely 'small'. Seeing the prices you'd think it would be a cheap meal but expect to spend well over $80+ a person for a basic meal and drinks once you actually get enough food to feel satisfied. Food is ok, cocktails all seem to be on the sweeter side, and it's definitely not a place to go for an intimate meal, it is so overcrowded with tables that I can honestly say I could grab off the next tables plate easily with how close the tables are. I think the most concerning thing was overhearing some staff by where the kitchen puts food. Hearing them talk about the environment there was a little off putting, but upon reading more reviews and seeing responses from the business to customers makes me believe the small bits I overheard were very valid. Bogan was the absolute man. One of the most personable and hospitable people I've ever met. The attention to detail from cleaning the table in between rounds and just making us feel so welcomed was on point. The food is unbelievable. Most people love Pelato. The people that don't, do not understand what they are trying to do. I've been to Italy. The food here is better. It's the classics reinvented with top quality ingredients. They aren't reinventing the wheel but they are giving me exactly what I want when I order, let's say, Carbonara. it literally brought me back to Rome to Osteria da Fortunata with the flavors and textures of the pasta. Literally walked us right through the menu and answered every question. The food was good, but pretty average, the octopus fish of the day Dish was intriguing, but when we finally got it, we regret paying almost $20 dollars for it. The food for the price wasn't much different than you can get full sized portions for around the city for the same price. And the quality isn't much better. Our first visit to Pelato was absolutely wonderful! Blayne was our server and she did an outstanding job taking care of our table of six. Her attentiveness and friendly attitude made the evening even more enjoyable. We ordered just about one of everything on the menu, and everything tasted amazing. Some of my favorites were the Fresh Mozzarella, Caprese, Garlic Bread with Cheese Sauce, and the Vodka Pasta. My husband couldn't stop raving about his salad--he said it was the best he's ever had! The quality of the food and the service made our first experience at Pelato truly memorable. The only downside was that, after spending nearly $400 on dinner, we still had to pay for parking--but that's more of a general inconvenience than a reflection on the restaurant itself. I was looking up restaurants and when I saw Pelato had 4.9 stars I knew we had to try it. It is a small plate tapas style restaurant. The food was divine!! The broccoli is the best I have ever eaten in my life. So so yummy! Everyone around us was ordering it as well. The garlic bread with melted Parmesan dip was delicious. The burrata on crostini was also amazing. The cheese was as fresh as it could be. The Campanelle shrimp limone pasta was delightful. The chicken Parmesan was good but compared to everything else it was my least favorite item we tried. We also had the dark chocolate budini for dessert amd it did not disappoint. The staff was also exceptional. Very friendly and helpful. There isn't free parking that I am aware of and parking anywhere in Nashville isn't cheap. This is BY FAR my favorite Italian restaurant in Nashville! Located conveniantly in Germantown, the restaurant transports you to Italy right when you walk in. I always get the vodka pasta and their crispy garlic potatoes because you simply cannot go wrong. I usually don't like spicy dishes, but the kick in the vodka pasta is suddle and brings out the flavor. The potatoes are topped web parmesan cheese and served with a garcia aioli sauce which just melts in your mouth. They also have an outdoor patio with fire lamps to keep warm in the cooler months. Service is always amazing too! I seriously reccomend this place to everyone who moves here and visits. 10/10 every time. Pro tip: Make a reservation because they are always packed. I'll be blunt - within 48 hours, 7 of 11 in our party were extremely ill with the worst diarrhea and vomiting imaginable. Several in our group had to visit doctors and/or receive IVs, and five of us missed work on Monday/Tuesday - it was truly terrible. It is a shame, because the dinner and cocktails were solid, service was good, and the restaurant is chic and well-designed. However - after seeing there was another group that had the exact same experience on 1/31 and seeing there was another couple that experienced this on 1/26 - it is clear this this restaurant has systemic, recurring issues. We were willing to take the sacrifice of not booking and walk in, and thankfully, even on a busy Monday, they managed to squeeze us in. Warm and accommodating from the start, Maddie seated us, helped us navigate the menu and as soon as we got comfy on our first drink, our food immediately starting popping up. Each meal was amazing, and the ambience of the restaurant complemented that. We couldn't fault anything, and Ben the manager was extremely friendly for a quick hello chat.
