I went to the office and spoke the sales manager in person and same thing.... no resolution. Just horrible. Our very expensive arched windows are not up to what we paid for. The arch does not cleanly meet the square portion of the window. Our sales person first accepted that they were working on making it right, then he stopped answering my questions or phone-calls. When I tried to call him another day, he answered and recommended I contact corporate. I told him he was my sales rep and he became very rude. He called back to apologize for what he had said and promised me a manager would call me that morning. That call never came. And good like trying to get help by calling them directly to the office. Pella Austin is an incompetent, horrible organization. I was excited for my custom windows. This quickly dissipated w/each Pella interaction. The salesman was late, & did not understand manufacturing lead times but was aware installers were backed up. I told him I would prefer Pella do the installation and paid my 50% down payment which included the installation cost. I also inquired about a permit & he said he would check. He did not get back to me on any of the issues in a timely manner. He called to tell me the lead time would now be 2 months & the install longer. I asked again about the permit & he said he forgot and would check. I was then charged $500 measurement fee. Apparently they charge you this if they are not doing the install but this fee was not listed on the original estimate (he gave me one for Pella to do the install & one to just supply the windows which should have included the $500 measurement fee). I paid it because I was trying to finish before school started at UT as an engineering PhD student. During this time I spoke to the sales manager Sandie Criley in hopes of receiving competent customer service. At least Colin was nice. Sandie was horrendous and I am embarrassed for her as a female manager. Once I realized I could not work with her, I asked Colin again to follow up about the permit. A month passed, Colin forgot again & then e-mailed me that I would need to pull the permit & pay the $2k for the permit plus coordinate with the state. I was eventually charged $450 (not previously mentioned in either quote) to have the windows delivered. The first attempt included an Enterprise truck with 2 non-uniformed workers who could not get the door open. Their return trip on Monday including them forgetting one of the windows. I did receive a $500 refund but not worth the stress. Note that they have terrible reviews on multiple sites and when they try to negotiate any reimbursements for the errors, they insist that you remove your reviews because they know how horrible they are. read more

I will never again buy anything from this company because they don't stand behind their products . My door was scratched, and the scratch repair that was sent with the door was not a match to the exterior door. I contacted them repeatedly so they sent a mismatched crayon to fix my costly door. I again contacted them since this was not a solution and was informed they had no way to match the exterior stain and the scratch was my fault. It has literally taken over a year for Pella Austin to make repairs of their own mistakes. Window construction and final product is fine but the Austin office will make mistakes on the measurements of your order and their response to make the repairs of their mistakes will take forever. Their are many other manufacturers that will give you the same product but with superior customer service and warranty response. Their delays in doing their job will delay you completing your job. I can only assume they are so overwhelmed with repairs because they make so many mistakes that they can not manage the number of service work needed so get ready if you've already placed your order or go somewhere else and save yourself the disappointment and frustration. Very good installation crew with management follow up on site and another by multiple emails. The installation crew went out of their way to keep our home clean. Great follow through and we couldn't be happier. This was our second project with Pella and they have performed at the highest level of service and quality. Our job was a small one and was treated as one. Sales person disappeared after his visit. Manufacturing and warehouse were good but the installation was sloppy. The kaulk that was used by the installer is still so sloppy and gooey even 6 months after installation. Dirt, everything sticks to it and it is discolored and dripping. I would not use them again. I was very clear upfront that I was interested in installing windows that were eligible for the home energy tax credit. On Thursday September 26 a Pella salesperson came out and assured me that the items he was going to quote would be eligible. Upon receiving the quotes, I went to the EnergyStar.gov and they were NOT on the "Most Efficient" list. I went into their office and they couldn't explain what was going on. I even had to show them how to navigate to EnergyStar.gov. Moreover the young lady who sat with me couldn't even show me how to take off the screen from the sliding windows they were proposing. A second salesperson then sent me an email with the correct U-factor and Solar Heat Efficiency specs but didn't change the quote to reflect eligible products. When I pointed this out he sent me ANOTHER email with INCORRECT specs and said the quote was good. He also verbally said that he has never had a customer with an issue on claiming the home energy tax credit and that all Pella products were eligible for the tax credits. If you have purchased from this company and are planning to take the home energy tax credits, you will definitely need to check against the EnergyStar.gov website before you file your tax return. read more

We ordered products through our contractor and a commercial sales rep at the Pella store here in Austin in September of 2021. Pella sales rep told us five weeks to receive our windows. After we ordered, it became eight weeks. Now it's Feb 14 - five months later. We called today to follow up on installation as last we were communicated to, in mid-Jan delivery was Feb 11. No word from anyone at Pella on delivery, install schedule, etc. So we called today, and this is what they said, "our computers now show a delivery date of Mar 14!!" We understand there are supply issues illnesses to work through. But we are very frustrated. No communication about why the delay, and no contact letting us know in advance about the delays. We have learned about the delays because we are calling to follow up after the delivery dates you gave us. = The lack of care is very evident here - and we are very disappointed, and I would be very cautious in doing business with this group with the way things are being handled here, from our experience. read more

We were tricked by our Pella of Austin salesperson. Our time had ended with him and we had decided not to make a decision at that time because a Window World salesperson was going to talk to us the next day. The salesperson then did some typing and showed me a new figure in a number slot on his computer screen. It was about 2.5% lower than his last quote. He mentioned that this new figure was after he had already gave us a 20% break. So I decided to accept the new deal. In the end the contract never stated the "deal breaking" price. And of course I was just foolishly initialing and signing away. I got no sympathy from the sales boss when I called a few days later. The contract stated only the original price we had earlier discussed and not the new deal he had offered. She talked to him and he stated he had already given me a large discount. And never offered me another quote, I'm not sure if she believes him or not but our conversation got to the point in which she told me a good number of times that the only info she had was the signed contract. But I know he cheated me! He's not an honest salesman but a pretty good magician. If I remember right he never verbalized the new quote, just had me look at it. read more

We bought a sliding glass door for our back entrance. After 3 months, they finally installed it; however a piece was broken. It took many phone calls and e-mails for them to respond about replacing said piece. After they replaced that piece, we noticed that after it rained water was coming under the door and ruining our hardwood floors. We called and called and emailed and did not get replies back. It took over a year to get anyone to respond to us and months more to get someone out to put caulking around the bottom. The door was put in very shoddily and we are now still in "talks" with them about reimbursement for our ruined floor. They take forever to respond and my partner has to call constantly in order to get any type of answer. Then the warehouse managed to lose my doors for months. When I got the right doors one of them swung the wrong way and they tried gaslight me saying I'd had it installed incorrectly. Pella is only getting 1 star because of our Sales Consultant Carlos. We started the process of getting new sliding glass door and front door on May 7, 2022. Nine months later, we could have birthed a child during this span, we are still waiting for the job to be complete. In September our sliding glass doors were installed, albeit with several noticeable scratches. Our front door was removed and the new one was installed, kind of. During the installation it was discovered that the frame was cracked and would need to be replaced. The installed it anyway, which was ok because at the time I didn't believe it would remain like this for another 4-5 months. They didn't replace the siding on the outside or the molding on the inside so during the recent bouts of freezing weather there was a draft coming through the front door. We were never informed exactly how long it would take for the new frame to come in, well it turned out to be mid January. When it came time for the new frame to be installed it was discovered that not all of the pieces were including. I was told by the installer that it would take a couple of weeks to come in since the part was under warranty. Its now going on a month and nothing. The customer service was been atrocious. You'd think that when you spend 11k on new doors the company would respond to emails and texts but that is not the case with Pella. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. read more

Jon R and his crew installed the first set of windows, replacing 3 double-hung windows with 5 casements - they completely rebuilt the back wall of my house. And finally, Gio A replaced my back door, 3 double-hung windows, and replaced a 4th window with French Doors. These two projects involved significant reconstruction. The installation of my new French doors went very well, but the follow-up service has been very frustrating. My installer and sales rep both acknowledged that the left door needed to be re-worked since both doors have dead bolts and only one door is supposed to have a dead bolt. It seems obvious to me since the left dead bolt has no function and nor does the lock attached to it (see pics). But the woman at the Pella office I spoke with told me just the opposite. I was also told that a project manager would call me about it "shortly", but that was four days ago and I've yet to hear from her. read more

We ordered their service in 2021 to replace all windows and doors in our house which was a big project since we have 32 windows (27 large windows and 5 small windows) and 4 doors. The project was finished on October 23, 2021. However, we found the window in utility room cannot open and contacted them to fix it. Their technician came here 3 times without being able to fix it then told us it was the installer's problem. Since then I have called them three times and guess what, the window still stays the same. The last time I called them was 6 months ago and their customer service told me the installation department will call me back in half an hour. I never got their call back. read more

The installation manager never came to our home to inspect the work, and never called to inquire how things were going or to offer an explanation or apology for the endless delays and sub-par workmanship. Throughout this process we were polite, accommodating and professional and both the installation manager and owner were rude and dismissive- treated us like we are a nuisance when we ask you for status updates and express our concerns. I have been a home owner for 25+ years and replaced, repaired or upgraded virtually everything in my homes using big box stores, friends, local contractors, storm-chasing roofers and window companies that advertise on tv.  Pella of Austin has been the absolute worst experience in that 25 years. read more

After a nightmare of an install that took nearly a week and consumed a weekend, we are still feeling ashamed for choosing them. Our concerns were dismissed as trivial and we didn't know who was in charge until things got bad. 3 months later we're still pulling shards of glass out of the grass and pool. A word of caution, have a person who is savvy on window contracts look at it should you choose this company. There's a lot of double talk and what you think you're going to get isn't always the case. A year after the worst experience possible with Pella Windows and Doors of Austin, I had to spend almost $3,000 to have damage caused by a leak in my new windows repaired. On multiple occasions I called Pella Windows and Doors of Austin to tell them there was a leak in the window. I could smell the outdoor air and when it was windy, a flame held by the window would flicker. Once the summer's drought ended in many days of torrential rain, I found soaked drywall and mold. The repair person I hired found the leak Pella insisted wasn't there. The repairman also found that the Pella installers failed to put foam around the window and that the window was not level. Whatever you do, avoid Pella Windows and Doors of Austin. They will ruin your home and your life. Looks like this review erased my previous review which I wrote a year into the installation. Here's an email I wrote to the owner: "Anthony, The work IS NOT done! The patched stucco has not been painted. Joe knows this and Steven knows this. They have chosen not to respond to my requests to have your stucco people complete the job. Also, there is other work scheduled to be done on one set of windows tomorrow. Given that your crews often do not show up when scheduled, I am not sure that I can trust that this will happen. As a reminder, I spoke with you personally about the problems I have had with your crews not showing up, about how months were going by without the installation being completed, and about how I was getting constant runarounds by your staff. Yet, months after talking to you and you insisting that the problems would be quickly resolved, the job is not complete. Heck, it took more than four months for your people to finally finish caulking my windows! I went through the summer with no caulk on one window and caulk with large gaps on quite a few other windows! And the window that your installers broke had gaps between the window and the wall that were so large you could see the sky through them. Several times your crews came and each crew said it wasn't their job to fix the gaps and they all left without it being done. It took five months before one of your crews finally took care of that problem. And now, you're demanding payment even though the job is not done?! This is hard to believe." read more

The installers (James, Jeff, and Ryan) just finished installing a large French door to our upstairs deck. They worked quicky while doing high quality work. I have had a few door/window installs done, and this crew was top-notch. Work area was protected and it was clean afterward. I've resisted posting a review, but I wish I would have known before what I know now. I went into the store in July and worked with a helpful salesman. I purchased a front and back door. I printed out the agreement, signed it, then handed it to a man who sat at the front of the store. When I called to check on the status, they claimed they never got my paperwork. Repeated those steps, and someone came to my house to measure. I have an old house, and they should have told me if they were not equipped to install doors on old homes. Back door- they had to come out maybe 2 times to get it installed correctly. Front Door- i think there were at least 4 visits, with complete do-overs 2 times. Each time, I had to point out what was not right. Biggest complain- they have no attention to detail, and were willing, every time, to leave my house with sub-par work (unevenly cut trim, door didn't close all the way without forcing it shut, lockset was installed crooked). I had to act as project manager, calling the company after every visit to let them know what wasn't done correctly, and how they needed to come back and fix what I noted. They were good at coming back, but it was only because I called them. For all the money I spent on 2 doors (they were very expensive), I did not get the quality that I thought I had paid for. As of this week,I think my doors are finally installed correctly- but this was over the course of 6 months. I spoke to the owner twice, and not once did he offer a refund of any amount. This is a follow-up to my 2 previous reviews. We ordered an expensive large mahogany door, mahogany frame with a sidelight and a transom window September 2021. Our salesman was great, knowledgeable and responsive (the star on this review is for him). Other than him, the process was very stressful and dissatisfying beginning with the bad, unprofessional installation on 3/23/22. During the 8 weeks following the installation as I tried to have the multitude of issues resolved I was passed off to 17 Pella of Austin employees (yes, 17). During the process I also initiated contact with the owner, Anthony Moreno. The list of product quality & installation issues is long and they haven't corrected most of the issues. About 4 weeks ago Anthony said they would order a "full replacement " of the door & frame". But nothing was ever ordered. Last week Anthony Moreno informed me they are "unable to meet our needs." Our "need" was to have a beautiful, high quality door & frame that functions properly for the entrance of our home. Now 8+ weeks after the initial installation we're beginning to work with a different local company to replace the Pella door & frame. The company that we're working with has excellent reviews and a very professional staff. Of course the estimate for delivery of another new door & frame from the new company is at least 6 months. I completely understand the time it takes to get products and I can wait patiently. I just wish I'd read the Pella of Austin reviews before I shopped at the Pella showroom so I could have avoided the stress of trying to work with Pella of Austin. read more

Read other negative reviews...all having same problem(s). Incompetent installation and faulty products. My sister decided to have her front door and back door replaced two years ago. She wanted to use Sears but I talked her into using Pella as they had excellent reviews (should've let her use Sears, oops). Of course the beginning was smooth sailing (companies love to sell their **** don't they). It's the follow through that's always the problem and this company failed miserably with the follow through. Now I'll admit they did a great job installing the back door and rebuilding the frame as it still works well. The problem is the front door and where should I start. The (3 point) locking mechanism started having problems because the door wasn't hung right (they just recently fixed that) but said the locking mechanism needed to be replaced (not sure how they're going to fix that without replacing entire door since it's built into the door). Basically one person comes out and fixes or rather sort of fixes one thing then says another part needs fixing and they'll send out their guy who's "really good" (he's been out and still having problems). Only positive is key can finally be used (for now at least) to enter through front door (had to use back door for months because key nearly broke trying to turn lock). Still waiting on mechanism to get fixed and for them to paint around the frame (and stain the wood) like they were supposed to do 2 years ago..so maybe they knew their product would fail and decided to wait. La ti da. So......with all this being said, no I can't recommend this company to anyone. They'll be happy to take your money but good luck with the rest. My sister is going to ask for her money back soon and they can take their products and shove them where the sun doesn't shine. And I'm sure someone will reach out (comment) on this review so they'll look like they're concerned and care but empty words are just that, empty. I used Pella to replace the old windows in our home around 5 years ago. That experience, while not perfect, worked out. Jump ahead and one of those windows got broken a few months ago so I decided to use Pella for the replacement, it made sense to me to spend more to ensure the quality of the replacement was as good as the originals. It took some time to get through to service. They do not call back if you leave a message and they do not reply to emails, period. I eventually got someone who said they were the owner to put me through and I ordered the window. The service manager, Valisha ordered the window and told me it would be about a 1.5 - 2 weeks for it to come in. Fantastic. At three weeks, I tried to call, again, they do not call back if you leave a message and they ignore email. Once I managed to get through, Valisha informed me I shouldn't call, they will call when it gets in. Ok, fine, crappy service but it will arrive eventually, right? Nope, after 6 weeks I was informed by Valisha again - Do Not Call! It seems they don't even want to check on it. We will call you. I am now at 8 weeks and again, can't get their attention. I am reversing the credit card charge as they have no interest at all in putting in this single window. Lessen learned, just call your local window guy because @PellaAustin doesn't give a damn about anything once they have your money. read more

Yesterday, a Pella team came out to retrofit a new dining room window in our house. We couldn't be more pleased! The window looks amazing and for some reason it actually looks much larger. The team, James Severeid, Jeff Fry, and Luke Dunne were wonderful. We were concerned because the old window had leaked from the time it was installed. They repaired the damaged frame, re insulated the space, removed damaged drywall and they cleaned up completely! The new window is just beautiful and now we are considering having our front doors replaced by Pella, especially if we can get these guys back out to do the work.
