Will not receive my business EVER again! I've been here plenty of times prior to my visit this evening and everything was great. Unfortunately, I just went in and saw some students from my school (the local neighborhood school) asking for water. At first the man told them no he couldn't fill their cup, but then decided to do so anyways. I was near the end of the line, as the students were leaving they saw me and told me which teachers they had next year. I then asked if they wanted any ice cream. When we went to order, I was asked if I was their parent or legal guardian because it's a liability for someone else to buy them ice cream. Excuse me? That's a first I've ever been asked that in order to buy ice cream. I stated that they attend the school I teach at and he said since I "know them he would let me buy it for them". At that point, I realized what was happening. After I made the purchase and we left, I decided to call and speak with the owner. The person I spoke to explained to me that the reason the person handled the situation is how their boss told them to. She went on the explain when the neighborhood kids come in and don't make a purchase they typically steal the tip jars. In which I responded saying "those exact kids that were in there with me?" And she said no just neighborhood kids. Which left me a little dumbfounded because that wasn't even what I was speaking to... but she unknowingly confirmed my suspicions. My guess is if the kids looked liked me, he would have never asked such a question. I called because I wanted to know why I was asked if I was their parent/guardian....I asked to speak to the owner and she gave me his phone number, which when I called went directly to voicemail--with a full inbox. The entire situation has caused me to believe that this company needs to realize the neighborhood in which they operate in, and see people as people and maybe, just maybe, don't be racist. I don't think that's too much to ask. read more

I had the butter pecan with hot fudge topping. The icecream itself was pretty good; and the hot fudge was great and it was not overly sweet and complemented the icecream. However the friend that I had gone out with was very excited to try the butterscotch flavor but was told that they do not have an actual butterscotch flavor instead they just mix in vanilla icecream+caramel topping. Their list of flavors was also quite commonplace that you could pretty much get in other icecream parlors. Their interiors was pretty chić and they had a vintage themed decor which I absolutely loved. Well, I haven't had the opportunity to try the cookie dough BUT the ice cream was pretty Myeh. Cool setup and a good location, but the already limited menu was pretty much out of everything. My hands were tied and I ended up going with the swirl topped with Reese's peanut butter (Yuck!). This ended up just being a cold cup of peanut butter, not even Reese's cups! Not to mention the cashiers seemed to have no interest in walking us through our choices! This place needs a real change up or they won't last in prime time Old Milford. My smug friends who got the brownie sundaes seem to be a bit happier with the experience, but they should change the name from Parlor to Subpar! read more

My experience at Pendleton has always been good. I've raved about the ice cream to friends and continuously go back. Everything was great until my recent experience. I went in to order my usual (side by side cookies n cream + chocolate chip cookie dough). When I entered, there was one person serving customers and two others talking to each other. One was talking about a bad experience she had with another customer. She mentioned the lady kept explaining the wrong thing which was so frustrating. First....it is so unprofessional to complain about customers in front of other customers (or at all). Second...if there's a line, it's best to stop the conversation and tend to the customers (just my opinion). Once they finished, the same one who was complaining about the previous customer asked what I'd like. She was very pleasant at first I must say. I told her my usual but I said "half n half of cookies n cream and chocolate chip cookie dough" instead of side by side. When she gave me a baby scoop (half of one scoop) I explained that this wasn't exactly the size I'm used to. She thought I meant a half scoop total. So we laughed about the mistake and she brought it back. This time she gave me a full scoop, but half of two different cookie doughs. I explained again that this wasn't what I ordered and mentioned one scoop of cookie dough, one scoop of ice cream. This time she gave me two full scoops of cookie dough and explained she thought I meant one scoop of cookie dough ice cream and one scoop of cheesecake Oreo cookie dough. Never said Oreo. Never said cheesecake. Their menu also clearly says cookies n cream under ice cream and nowhere else. She was visibly frustrated so I explained again. This time she brought me a scoop of cookies n cream ice cream and a scoop of cheesecake Oreo cookie dough. Sigh. Remember when I said I never said cheesecake? Never said Oreo? Yep, here it was again. She then says, you wanted cookies n cream ice cream and chocolate chip cookie dough right? I said yes, but this is cookies n cream and Oreo cheesecake cookie dough isn't it? She said yes it is...since I already put the chocolate chip cookie dough in the wrong order before you can just take them both. At this point I just said thanks and left. If you know I didn't order Oreo cheesecake cookie dough why would you put it in the cup again? Even though the order took a long time to make, I was most frustrated with knowing that as soon as I left, I'm sure she was going to complain about me too. However, based on my interaction with her, I can understand why the other customer also had a hard time communicating. I love this ice cream but these experiences are what make me go somewhere else. read more

They've recently been trying out a rotation of new monthly flavors. Do not take this lightly. This Oreo cheesecake flurry changed my life. It made me a better person. Decided to go here after brunch at Boomtown. We were misinformed believing this was a venture of one the new spots like in the area like Q, Boom, or something else. But the two women present stated otherwise. This is the third location of this Milford creamery. They're known for their cookie dough. I love me some cookie dough but always get nervous whether or not this is the batch where I get salmonella. The choices are infinite on what you can get for flavors, sauces, servers, toppings, and more. What's also unique is that they serve an inkling of coffee infused ice cream. They're laying their ground toward Buzzed Bull for uniquely infused ice cream. With all the options the workers were helpful in what combos would work. In the end I got the vanilla flurry soft serve with brownie cookie dough and nutella. It was a great mixture. Since my initial butter pecan choice had them confused if I was Benjamin Button for only old people like that...harsh. With the portion sizes I'd say the price is fair. You can't go wrong with sweets and ice cream. The Parlor is far from any mishaps. The inside was nicely designed and with an open feel to it. They had lots of old relics that reminds one of an ice cream parlor in the 50s with interesting relics they clearly got at an antique sale. For sure will be back. read more

I had a very frustrating experience with a young employee and ended up leaving with an incorrect to go order. Finally a new ice cream choice in the downtown area. And they are open until 11pm on Friday and Saturday, which is nice. I had the Java Whip, which was an excellent coffee flavored milkshake. Who doesn't like ice cream? Who doesn't like cookie dough? Who doesn't like both combined? If you said "yes" to any of these you're entitled to your opinion but you should also probably seek help (unless it's due to a medical circumstance than apologies for poor taste in humor). Anyways, Pendleton Parlor is my go-to for a sweet tooth if I can't decide between pigging out on ice cream and/or cookie dough. I love how I can say "and/or" because you can literally have either ice cream and edible cookie dough on their own OR have my personal favorite combination of the two. Regardless, there's plenty of options on either side, plus if you're not feeling either, they have speciality floats/coffees as well as shakes/malts. The shop itself reminds me of, surprise, a modern twist on an old school ice cream parlor. It's definitely a good spot to grab a scoop or two with your family or even a nice little sweet spot as part of a date. Seriously every time this place gets brought up among my friends I immediately crave it, so writing this for you all isn't helping. read more

I had high hopes this would be a fun dessert /coffee spot, but my husband and I were disappointed. The cookie dough and ice cream were pretty good. The staff was friendly but they need to be properly trained. They had no idea how to work the nitro machine and also didn't know how to properly make a chai latte. When I go to get ice cream on a Sunday night at 9:45pm when the closing time is 10:00pm and there are 3 people working and all 3 of them ignore me and act as if it's an inconvenience that I'm there, it's a real bummer. Ice cream is a delicious exciting treat I look forward to on Sundays... and I always leave this place a little bummed. The flurries are fire though and they will keep me coming back, I am just always a little let down by the service. read more
