My girlfriend and I walked in, most of the seats were taken as other people were eating their desserts. He place is retro with a modern twist. We were served quickly and the price wasn't bad at all. Two solo scoops of cookie dough was $8. The taste was really good. I had the birthday cake which resembled cake batter, and she had the chocolate chip cookie dough. I really wanted to like this place...truly, but it just became harder and harder to look past these glaring issues. My wife and I are in Cincy for the weekend and love a good ice cream place, even better when you add in cookie dough; how can this get ruined you might ask...well I'll tell you. There are first off no prices listed anywhere, so until you get ready to pay do you know the damage you've inflicted on your bank account for what I would call mediocre ice cream at best. We ordered 2 side-by-sides (cookie dough and ice cream together in a cup) and it was $10.50. Then, because it was a hot night, I'd had a few, and needed a little pick-me-up I ordered an iced coffee. The total was now $14.50....excuse me what?! $4 for basic, black, only so-so iced coffee? Being from Chicago where prices are generally high, this is ridiculous. Next - customer service, or rather lack thereof. Again, I'm not a Cincy native so I don't know how your freaking menu works, so perhaps offer a brief explanation to make the ordering process easier and more efficient for the line of folks behind us. Instead a curt "I can take your order..." with all of the enthusiasm of a lifeless fish was all we were greeted with. And just a suggestion, chill your cookie dough. It's far more appealing, better textured, and less likely to melt your ice cream rapidly on an already hot night in a rather warm establishment, than the room temperature cookie dough squish I was served. Also, if you close at 11, don't start visibly and loudly closing up shop at 9:45...and also, if you've worked a 10 hour shift, I get it you could be a little frustrated, but don't complain about it in front of your customers. As for a blatant health code violation, at least where I'm from in Illinois and now in Kentucky, maybe don't your garbage out through the main dining room and front door while you've got at least 8 patrons in there. Y'all have a back door to the alleyway behind your building to your dumpster for a reason. Also, when you get back in from taking out the trash, wash your freaking hands before taking someone's order. Have staff that seem to give a shit about their jobs and aren't so preoccupied by trying to close early, playing inappropriate shows on Netflix (I don't personally care about shows rated TV-MA, but it's a family establishment let's keep it that way), and being generally surly to paying customers who were looking to a nice end to their evening only to have it patently deflated by what I can only describe as truly abominable customer "service". For my money, I'd have gone to DQ and been happier. This definitely will NOT be a place I come back to next time in the area unless so major changes happen. HEALTH CODE VIOLATION CONCERN - I'll start by saying the store is darling and the ice cream was SO delicious. I love they make things from scratch and you can see how they work on all the goodies right there in the store. HOWEVER, I saw one of the workers stick her finger (without gloves) in the cookie dough she was making to test it, LICK her finger, and stick her hand again in the dough after adjusting some of the ingredients. Absolutely unacceptable, unsafe, unhygienic and just gross. She should not be touching the dough without gloves and licking her hands while working with food. The owner should seriously talk to the employees about this serious issue to ensure the safety of the food they sell. As much as I loved the ice-cream, I will not be coming back due to food safety concerns. read more

I tried three or four different things but my inner child took over and I finally decided on a cookie dough that was to die for! The staff was very friendly too... Hands down my favorite ice cream/dessert place! Went for the first time on Friday, and I got a scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough with vanilla ice cream mixed with peanut butter cups. It was essentially like a peanut butter cup blizzard with chocolate chip cookie dough. Does it get any better than that? Needless to say, I will be back! read more

I'm obsessed with this place. So cute inside, they usually play episodes of the office or some other awesome show. The chocolate chip cookie dough and the cake batter are both aaaaamazing (and I'm a cookie dough fanatic so you can trust my opinion). I was excited to go to Pendleton because I have heard many great things about the restaurant but I was sad to say that it was not good. first off the cookie do was way too sweet and the dough was thick ad I could barely finish one scoop. the ice cream was okay but I was not thinking that it was going to be that great anyway. the staff is also a hit or miss with the staff, they were not helpful with the selection of the products. read more

This place is the bees knees! Not only do they have edible cookie dough (with delicious homemade ice cream), but the decor in there is so eclectic and home-y. For anyone living in this are of OTR and has a sweet tooth or addiction to chocolate, this is your go to place. While waiting on my order I looked around at all the vintage style accessories, some very unique and you don't see around a lot. The one that caught my attention was the old metal divers helmet. I don't know if that would be categorized as vintage but is definitely unusual and not seen often. The parlor is not a place to sit and enjoy your treat unless it is not at peak hours. The space is not large enough to have much in the way of seating. If you go at a time when they be fairly busy and folks are sitting there is little space in which to navigate when placing your order and waiting for it to be prepared. Yesterday, mid-afternoon would be considered peak time. All seating taken, we weren't planning on staying; however the line waiting to order was okay but once you order, pay and wait for it you should use common sense and take a place in a different line, if you will so as not to block those coming to the counter to order. If the couple who ordered following me would have taken their place BEHIND me and not stay planted in front of us waiting for our order there wouldn't have been the bottleneck at the counter. This is what I mean about common sense. This in no way reflects on The Parlor. The choices of ice creams, sorbet, shakes/malts are plentiful. Different ways to have your indulgence such as cone, cone in a dish, etc. The prices are in line with other ice cream shops for the size and what you order. The young ladies working yesterday were on the move, steady pace to get everyone served with minimal wait. The Parlor is immaculate! Since chocolate is my primary addiction I ordered a chocolate malt. It was amazing! Took me mentally to my childhood. My grandmother, who lived on Madison Road, would walk us to Aglamesis for a treat. The Parlor will be on my list of places to revisit! read more

I love going to ice cream shops and Pendleton Parlor is by far one of my favorites. The shop is in a convenient location, just walking distance from a lot fun bars and restaurants, for that after dinner treat. The establishment is clean, a great many options to choose from, and large serving sizes. The atmosphere warm and inviting. While it has only been around for a few months, you feel as though the staff has known you for years. I will certainly be continuing to go. read more
