    French Toast Combo
    Jenny J.

Penfold's Cafe is one of the best breakfast spots that I've ever been to. I'm definitely coming back when I'm in the area! We ordered the omelette and french toast combo and everything was delicious. Even the sourdough toast itself was yummy! I love the vintage decor vibe it has going on and the ambiance feels very cozy inside. It was a bit busy on the weekend, but our server was very nice. Also, there is a pretty good selection of Jellycats and toys! It was fun to see what kind of goodies they had to offer. There's a parking lot outside and it's not difficult to find parking which is always a plus.

We were looking for a good hearty meal before going wine tasting and came across Penfolds. From the moment we walked in, the place had a fun and welcoming atmosphere. They had all kinds of items for sale like stuffed animals, candy, shirts, and other gifts, plus fresh homemade pastries available to grab to-go. We were seated quickly and our waitress was prompt and attentive. They had a nice variety of both breakfast and lunch items to choose from, so there was something for everyone. The restaurant itself is bright, spacious, and has plenty of seating. I also loved the carousel horse on display. It gave the place a unique charm. The food tasted good and the portions were solid. Overall, a really nice stop if you're in the area and looking for a satisfying meal before a day of wine tasting.

First time at PC. Came in with a big group. They sat us quickly. All the food was good. The steak and eggs was great. The dishes was well portion. The pancakes were soft and fluffy. Overall a pleasant Experience. I will come back again.

Krystal was our server. She was really nice and gave us great service. The food was good and plentiful. Wish the fruit was in a bowl bs next to my eggs but that is my preference. It wasn't busy when we got to the restaurant which was perfect; however, it filled up quickly. The restaurant was decorated in nostalgic motif. The bakery looked crazy good.

Always the best food at reasonable prices for today's economy. Whether that's breakfast or lunch, it's delish.

Wednesday, Aug 6, 2025: My brother was visiting from San Diego and invited us (Hubby, me, daughter, & grandson) to eat here. It had been years since I was here. Back in the day my daughter was a waitress & hostess. They used to be open for dinner, which we truly miss! They are now only open for breakfast & lunch. Our server, Nancy, provided warm, friendly, and attentive service. My daughter knew Nancy from before and she is a very sweet lady! We all enjoyed our food. I had the turkey sandwich, which was good and filling. I forgot to take photos of everybody's food. Prices were reasonable for good portions. It's still so quaint and the food is still very good! We need to return more often!

What a great little spot with good food. Service is fantastic and prices are right. There's a little bakery display case as you walk in. My goodness!! I have never seen such giant cinnamon rolls and rice krispy bars! Didn't eat one but they look delicious. Then I saw the largest most delicious looking biscuits and gravy. I split a machaca and eggs plate and my other friend had a burrito. Plenty of food, even with splitting it. Will definitely be back!

It's ginormous, we couldn't finish it!!

We heard rumors of a gigantic cinnamon roll at Penfolds Cafe, so naturally we had to confirm if the rumor was true. Despite the Saturday morning chaos, we were seated instantly. Winning!! We immediately kicked things off w the giant cinnamon roll as an appetizer bc what better way to stimulate & ruin our appetites than to eat sweets before our actual meal!?!? This thing was the size of a toddler's head and absolutely drenched in melty, buttery goodness!! One cut and it oozed like a magical waterfall. We were basically in a frosting trance!!!! Then came the "real" food I got the Machaca plate, Hubby got the NY Steak & Eggs. And whew...that steak was thick!!! Major kudos to our server Skyler.... super friendly, funny, and made us feel welcomed and treated us like cinnamon roll royalty. Prices are totally reasonable. Food was fire and portion sizes were huge!! We were beyond happy!!! Will we be back to conquer more of the menu and of course, another giant cinnamon roll encounter!!! Or maybe the giant French toast, that looked good too!!

    Crabby Benedict with Hash Browns

Great little diner near Temecula hotels filled with tchotchkes and knick-knacks. I was in town for a friend's wedding and stopped here for breakfast, so it did the job of curing a hangover. I was feeling a Benedict, so I had to have the Crabby Benedict with a side of hash browns. Warm and delicious! This place seems to be a staple of Temecula, so definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, especially for brunching.

This place needs no introduction, a local staple in the community that serves amazing breakfast and lunch! The cinnamon roll is the size of my outstretched hand! We got one to go, most people paying their bill did the same. We both got omelets with fresh fruit and a biscuit and gravy. All delicious and so much food we took 1/2 home. Savannah was awesome, she took great care of us and the people around us. We plan on driving the 45 minutes north regularly to enjoy this place again and again. 10/10 recommend with great food and fair pricing

Biscuits and Gravy (it was like 3 biscuits) HUGE!

We stumbled upon this place and really happy we did. Such a fun, quirky diner, filled with memorabilia. It's hard to take pics inside as it's filled with patrons and I wanted to respect their privacy, but trust me, there's so much to stare at inside, We were greeted by friendly staff upon entering. We were quoted a 20-30 minute wait for a table inside as it was 106 degrees outside, but there's misters outside if you can brave the heat. Nonetheless; we were sat in 15 minutes so not long at all, Our server was super friendly and apologized a few times bc the food was taking long to come out. The giant cinnamon roll caught my eye so you know I had to get it. It was HUGE, ooey gooey delicious and only $9. The Penfold omelette was really good, extra cheesy so if you like cheese, get it. I would ask for the gravy on the side so you can add as you go. I would've liked more bacon, but it definitely had a ton of sausage. The hashbrowns were cooked perfectly. Biscuits and gravy were HUGE! Hubby's California breakfast burrito was delicious , topped with a red enchilada sauce, cheese, avocado and sour cream. All of the food was flavorful, huge portions and delicious. I'd definitely come back for the cinnamon roll.

A rare site from our experience. We did get here 5 minutes after opening.

The food is delicious. The service top shelf. The ambiance nostalgic. Can get busy. They close early. Wish they were open for dinner. You know close at 2 and reopen around 5 close by 9. Even if just Thursday through Saturday. That'd be amazing!

Cinnamon roll to share, it's super big

My family sometimes meets here for late breakfast as it's sort of halfway between where they live and San Diego. The location is super close to the freeway, making it simple to access. There's a good amount of parking in the lot, especially if you're willing to walk a little farther from restaurant. The restaurant itself is clean and has ample seating. I was tempted to buy one of the rubber chickens they sell in the lobby, maybe next time. The menu is pretty large, seems like a lot of choices for even the picky eaters in your party. They have every kind of breakfast option covered, and a wide selection of lunch dishes too. The omelettes are great, plus you get a choice of potato options and a bread item. I haven't finished anything here, the servings are large, but you can take home leftovers for the next day. They also have the largest selection of juices I've ever encountered in a restaurant. The service is good, everyone has been friendly and helpful with recommendations. We have a couple picky eaters who love the food here, so it's definitely kid friendly.

We used the time to stroll around downtown, do a little shopping, and enjoy the area before our meal. By the time our table was ready, we were excited to sit down and eat. The food was delicious, and the service was just as impressive. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and well worth waiting for. Our server was attentive and friendly, and even with how busy the restaurant was, we never felt rushed. You can tell there's a reason this place has a wait. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and even better food. I'd absolutely come back next time I'll just plan on putting our name in and enjoying downtown while we wait! I completely neglected to take photos, but for once, that was actually a good thing. We were enjoying a true date night without phones or interruptions, just good food, conversation, and each other. Next time I'll try to remember the pictures! We did finish the night with the s'mores dessert, and it was fantastic. My only advice: if you're a dessert lover like we are, it's a little too small to share! Get the s'mores AND another dessert so you can share both and try something else on the menu. Such a great date-night experience from beginning to end. We'll definitely be back!

Rockin' Jay's looked at my weak soul and said "bet" -- then saved it in the best way possible. Counter girl hit me with a smile so bright I almost reached for sunglasses. The entire all-female crew was straight beast-mode at the open sandwich bar, slinging subs like they were on a mission from the sandwich gods. Atmosphere? Spacious as hell, proper New York deli that moonlights as a 70s rock dive -- screaming reds and greens, green booths, wooden tables, tiled floors, the whole retro package you see in the pics. The playlist was gloriously all over the place in the best way -- Contemporary Christian one minute, 2019 pop bangers the next, basically spanning six decades of straight fire. "Listen to your heart" came on and I damn near did while they built my baby. Every single pick was gold though. I ordered the 12" Capicola & Provolone ($16.69). I yelled "the works -- no mustard, drown me in onions and olives." They dropped an absolute beast of a sandwich... and it came perfectly toasted straight out the gate the way it should be. No sad "can you toast this?" negotiation. Golden, crunchy bread that cracks like it owes you money. Meat stacked stupid high, provolone doing its melty thing, then they buried the whole thing under an avalanche of fresh, snapping shredded lettuce and threw in those glossy peppers on the side like a mic drop. This thing is ridiculously messy -- oil dripping, lettuce flying, pure delicious chaos in every bite. Pro tip: there's no napkin dispenser at the tables, so you gotta go full scavenger hunt by the self-serve soda machine to grab your own stack. Worth every greasy finger and napkin raid. It fed this giant for two meals and left me still full, slightly greasy, and weirdly emotional. My spinach smoothie PTSD? Cured. If your diet has been as depressing as mine, stop torturing yourself and drag your weak ass here immediately. Friendly as can be, killer vibe, and subs that actually deliver. Tell 'em the tall smoothie refugee sent you. I'm claiming a booth next week and bringing stretchy pants... and maybe my own napkin stash.

So don't come if you're in a hurry, but it's worth the wait if you can! Both of our sandwiches were excellent, I ordered the roast beef and it had tons of meat. The Italian dressing they have is delicious. My husband ordered the Mafia and said it was just great too. The 12in sandwiches are huge, definitely plenty to split or make two meals out of. We stopped here on the way home from Pechanga while charging our Tesla and since it was in the same plaza, we figured we'd check it out. I assumed it was more of a franchise bakery than a standalone artisan spot, so I came in with pretty low expectations. I was just planning to grab a cinnamon roll, a loaf of their Cinnamon Burst Bread and a quick sandwich for the drive home. To my surprise, their house-made sandwiches are served on freshly baked bread, made with fresh ingredients, and cost under $10 (Panera could never!!!). Their baked goods were also reasonably priced with generous portions. We picked up the Cinnamon Burst Bread, a cinnamon roll, a honey bran muffin (which completely stole the show for me; it was incredibly moist and I'd come back just for that) and an almond poppy seed scone. The service here was just as impressive. Everyone was so friendly and personable and you could tell they genuinely enjoyed being there. I also loved their "Giving Rack," where anyone in need can take free baked goods. It's such a thoughtful idea and says a lot about the kind of business they are. This is easily one of my favorite bakery finds and it'll definitely be a regular stop whenever I'm back in the area.

We arrived with 15-20 folks. The air conditioned indoors was a welcoming environment! What I like is that you order at the counter so that the issue of splitting checks is not there. When we ordered you saw a sign that said this isn't fast food your food is made to order to warn us don't expect your food right away. I was slightly worried because we had a second game in 2 and a half hours but I knew it would be okay. We ordered and sat inside. The staff was kind enough to let us move tables around. Then I'd say within 10 minutes our food orders started coming out. The orders then continued to come out at a very steady pace! We were shocked. Then we were shocked at how DELICIOUS the food was. One by one like a chorus of glee, each person commented on how much they enjoyed their food. The menu was so vast that no one had the same order in the adults and each person loved their food. There was only one hiccup. One of the parents order a canned drink but didn't notice that it was alcoholic. This was in no way the fault of the restaurant as it was obviously beer. The parent didn't complain he just opened it and left it. The waitress who was bussing our area asked him was something wrong if he didn't like it and the dad said, I didn't realize it was alcohol. The waitress walks over with the POS machine asked him is order number found the drink and refunded it to the dads card. She did this completely unprompted and strictly because she felt it was the right thing to do. THAT is how you provide excellent service! Thank you The Local Provisions for your gracious hospitality! We will be back!

You can order to go at the bar. I gave this 1 star bc this place did the lobster tacos dirty. I love lobster, but felt after I ate this, I could almost never eat it again. My tacos were mushy, pasty, and had hospital flavor written all over it. It was 18$ of pure hot mess. I wouldn't even eat these even if they were free. Even the presentation looked like it spawned from a hospital cafeteria. Tbh, it looked liked mashed potatoes with a side of broccoli. The only ok thing was the tortilla. You cant mess that up. Its probably bought. I want to try other foods here next time. Maybe that will do it more justice. Maybe fries or something? Something safe and not hard to mess up. I think my review is scathing, but its HONEST.

When you walk in the restaurant you're greeted by their team, always. There is a full deli inside with many offerings of meats, cheeses, fresh potato salads, pasta salads, and more. They also have a dessert case with options to choose from as well, such as tiramisu, cake slices, cannolis, and more. There's a wall of jarred sauces, pickled vegetables, canned tomatoes, giardiniera, and more. There is seating inside the restaurant as well as outside. My favorite and go-to sandwich is the PLT. If you're a BLT fan you'll love this sandwich. It's an Italian take on the popular BLT; the PLT comes with sliced pancetta, sun-dried tomato pesto, lettuce, and tomatoes on a ciabatta roll and pressed in a panini press. Served with pepperoncinis on the side. While this sandwich is delicious, keep in mind as it takes a little longer to make in the panini press but it is worth it every time! If you're looking for an Italian Deli or a lunch date spot, Campini's is your place to go! Visit once, try something new and you won't regret it. You'll find yourself going back for that new favorite meal you can't find anywhere else!

We really enjoy The Goat & Vine, so we were excited to try Little Goat Kitchen & Bakeshop when we…read morefound out they were from the same restaurant group. We arrived around 11:15 am on a Saturday and there was a long line to order. The ordering area is pretty small, so with the line and servers moving between the kitchen and outdoor seating, it did feel a little crowded. I still really liked the atmosphere inside though. We ordered around 11:25 and were told the food would take about 20 to 25 minutes, which honestly wasn't bad considering how busy it was. There's some bar seating and a few tables inside, but everything looked pretty full, so we opted for takeout. We ordered the Classic Breakfast Sandwich with breakfast sausage and the Monterey Breakfast Sandwich. Both were really good, and the flavors blended together well. The sandwiches are definitely packed and on the richer side with all the cheese and sauces, which was a little heavy for my personal preference. The portions are generous enough that I honestly think the two of us could have shared one sandwich and been satisfied. We also tried the Earl Grey Latte with matcha instead of espresso. I really liked the earl grey and matcha combination, but the matcha itself leaned pretty powdery, which was hard to enjoy fully. It's one of the better matcha lattes I've had in Temecula, but I've found the matcha quality in the area to be pretty underwhelming overall. I'd be more interested in trying their coffee next time. Overall, I enjoyed Little Goat Kitchen & Bakeshop and can definitely see myself coming back to try more of the food. The sandwiches were the highlight for me, and I'm curious to explore more of the menu.
