Mary was welcoming at the bar and I like that you can order smaller schooner size beers too, so we could try a variety.

I was starving and asked for bread out quick which they accommodated despite it not being on the menu as an app. We had a little lag for our food, but they were slammed busy, not a single spot open at the bar or the tables. The servers were hustling, they did a great job and it looked tough. A lot of TVs with sports going, golf especially of course. Nice long bar.

After a first attempt where a restaurant's hours were not updated, we found Stymie's in Sequim. It's one of the restaurants at Cedars at Dungeness golf course (the other one is Double Eagle Steak and Seafood). It seems to be the more casual of the two options and we opted for it since we were in hiking clothes. The hostess told us we could walk in and try to find a table. She warned us it might be a long wait. Thankfully, we found a place to sit right away and a waiter gave us waters and a menu. We ordered cups of clam chowder to start. Thankfully they were out quickly. We got drinks while we waited for our food. The Dungeness crab Mac and cheese was listed as an appetizer, so we assumed it was a small portion. My husband got the fish and chips and I got pasta with shrimp. We got our entrees first, so we thought maybe the waitress had forgotten we ordered the Mac and cheese since they were so busy. She then apologized for the wait and said she'd be bringing it out shortly. We weren't planning on asking about it because their portions are very generous and even though we were hungry, we realized it was so much food. When the Dungeness crab Mac and cheese finally came out, it wasn't in a small cup, it was a whole bowl of delicious goodness. The Mac and cheese was resting in some sort of sauce and they were extremely generous with the crab. I loved that you could control the ratio with each bite. I wish I had taken pictures of the menu and its description, but all you need to know is that it's the BEST Mac and cheese I've ever had. I was floored that it wasn't mentioned in any review nor pictures. Maybe it's a new addition. Don't walk, RUN if you're nearby. You won't regret it and it will be worth the wait. I forgot all about my entree and just focused on the Mac.

I normally drink Bud Light, not drinks, and this was the best drink I have ever had. It was phenomenal. We started with the beef carpacio. It was tasty, tender, melt in your mouth, it just needed a little finishing salt. We had the duck, the veal, and the cannolli traditiozale. Duck was cooked well, we just expected something like we saw on TV where it was a whole breast with crispy skin, but this was sliced with no crispy skin, but tender and delicious. Glad we tried it. The veal was tender and delicible. Will order again.. Neither of us thought the potatos were noteworthy. Veggies were julienned rainbow carrots with extremely fresh tasting sweet pea pods, like from someone's garden picked on the way to our table. Delicious. I am still taking bites of the cannelloni. The filling was so scrumptious. Crepes were tender. Sauce was perfect. We forgot to get dessert! Service was in point, attentive, and patient. Very impressed!

We started with Caesar salads, which were good, but our food came out right away before we could finish our salads. I got the lasagna and it was fine though the vegetable medley with it was weird. Actually, the menu is a weird mix of Italian and Asian flavors that I don't know work well.

They roast their own coffee and serve delicious breakfast and lunch, with beer and wine available later in the day. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with about a dozen tables inside plus covered outdoor seating. The staff couldn't have been friendlier--I had the pleasure of meeting Tara and one of her coworkers, and they made us feel right at home. The coffee was outstanding, and they offer a great selection of freshly roasted beans, from light to dark roasts. The pastry case looked amazing, and they also feature daily specials. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and I'll definitely be coming back for it--it was excellent! My wife had the spinach frittata with cheese and bacon, and she loved it. We only wish we had a place like this closer to home in Seattle. There are plenty of great coffee shops there, but this café has a special hometown feel that makes you want to come back. If you're in the Sequim area, don't miss it!

I ordered a cold sandwich, The Eagle. I almost ordered the Sammy pastrami for a hot sandwich as recommended by the woman taking my order. The eagle is fantastic! It's on a sourdough bread with a cranberry sauce and sliced turkey deli meat. The cranberry sauce is a cream base and is extremely tasty without being too powerful. I added on bacon and Dijon mustard along with dill pickles. The turkey is perfect and juicy. I was afraid it would be dry, but nope, they know what they're doing here. All the flavors go really well together, even when I added on. And the bread is moist, it didn't quite taste like a sourdough, maybe it was a little bit more of a white bread, sourdough, but it was really good. If my sandwich is this good, I can only imagine how good the recommended sandwich is! The lady who took my order was nice and patient with me and I appreciate that. And she remembered who I was so when she called my sandwich, she basically tossed it at me! In a good way. Only negative thing I can say is the Line situation was a little confusing, but that's really more about the patrons waiting to order or not order or just make up their mind. Walking around the market, they have a lot of options for local snacks and beverages, especially beer. I highly recommend stopping in.!

We had a 15-20 min wait on a busy Tuesday night but we're glad we waited! Our server was friendly and helpful with choosing cocktails because they had a to. Of unique selection. Haven't ordered more than one at a restaurant before but had to try two here! We thoroughly enjoyed our final selections of Ginny from the Block, Garden era, strawberry bourbon smash and Blackberry goose beer! For our mains we got the alaskan cod and chips and Blackened cod tacos and loved it all. They really know how to prepare tasty cod! The Alaskan cod and chips had the perfect crispy texture and my blackened cod tacos had all the flavor profiles you need. A hint of heat in the Thai chili slaw with a creamy avocado, Crema and the brightness of mango salsa and of course a touch of sour with the HOUSE made pickled red onions. Even better they let me substitute corn tortillas in for the flour. But you can't mix and match your proteins. I didn't need to because I loved both of my blackened cod tacos. The atmosphere is in the name: cozy Gastropub.
