My favorite meal of the day is breakfast, and Penny Ann's makes some of the best breakfast around! My wife and I started with the Penny Puffs, which taste like mini churro bites! Order the cinnamon butter with it, Indulgent to the max! The Ultimate Biscuit and Gravy is every good thing about breakfast- the best meats, eggs just the way you like 'em, fluffy biscuit- all smothered in sausage gravy! We were seriously impressed with the Breakfast Nachos too. PAC's green chile pork is amazing! The chips were fluffy and crispy, and all of that gooey cheese with runny eggs! Takes forever (like 1-2 hours to get seated so be prepared) but the staff is great and the food is excellent - definitely worth the wait. I hope someday they move to a bigger location so they can seat more folks - their staff seem overwhelmed (but always friendly regardless)! read more

They are known for their pancakes but the taste of the pancake was very weird. I can definitely see how it is someone's preference but it was just not for me. The biscuit was actually the highlight of the food. The biscuit and gravy was appealing to my husband. Service was the highlight. We didn't know we long for a table. The chicken in waffles is excellent! It solves the various problems I've run into with chicken and waffles like dryness and getting well balanced bites with all the flavors. The PAC hits the mark as well for the same reasons, but I kept coming back to the chicken in waffles for more. The fried scone with honey butter is delicious and worth a try, expect to share with others as it's huge! I ran into issues joining the Yelp wait-list and called to still get on it, but when I arrived there was confusion over who I had talked to and an explanation that phonecall wait-lists can't be honored. So keep this in mind if you're running into Yelp issues. read more

I went to Penny Ann's with a group of 7 and that is why I am only giving 4 stars. This establishment isn't very friendly for big groups- which is a shame! I feel like they should take over the lease of sports clips at least and make this place bigger or go find a stand alone brick and mirror because this place is always popping with a line outside sometimes even, which was the case when we came for lunch. I ordered the French toast with a side of bacon and 2 scrambled eggs and man, SO MUCH FOOD! I love going to a restaurant that has good food and enough food where you feel like you're getting your moneys worth and values worth which is definitely the case here. I can see why people line up and it always seems to be busy, the food was delicious! I will say, someone who ate with me got the Eggs Benedict and it wasn't her fav because it was served on a croissant instead of a English Muffin which made the meal mushy. TLDR: simply not worth the wait. Solid breakfast. Definitely better than McDonald's. But ask yourself, would you rather join the online waitlist at 9am, wait for a call that your table is ready at 1030, Arrive at 1035, Wait to get through the constant line at the door, Finally make it through to the hostess at 1045, just to be told you lost your spot on the waitlist and finally be seated at 11? I would rather trade 15 minutes of stress cooking for my family than suffer through 2 hours of stress. Especially since the constant rush means you won't be getting your food for another half hour after that. This place is good. Better than Denny's and IHOP. But everyone knows it and there simply is not enough space. Grab some mediocre hotcakes at McDonald's in 5 minutes across the street or stay home and avoid ruining your one day away from the office by making some heavenly hot cakes in your own kitchen. At the very least, order takeout and give up on actually eating here. read more

PAC I really wanted to like you! Started off walking in and packed to the Max with no room for waiting at all we are literally blocking the entrance. Oh we found out they have some chairs by this hallway near the bathroom you can sit and wait. Walked to the check in and stood there for about 4 minutes until one of the girls says "did you check in" and I let her know we used Yelp to check in and so she marked us arrived but nothing else was said like "it will be a few minutes" " you have this many people ahead of you" "welcome to PAC" nothing. While waiting I was watching the tables come and go. Bussers need to be quicker, one table was dirty for about 5 minutes. Need to turn tables around for the busy business. Finally I get a text that our table is ready so I go to the 2 girls and say hi I am estela. They say ok, turns around grabs 2 Menus, turns around and talks to the other girl about another table for like 2 minutes, walks away without saying anything and then gets to a table, puts menus down, turns to look at us like are you coming. ( oh was I suppose to follow you, thanks for letter me know) They need better communication, the hostess seemed confused in how to sit people. We sit down, waiter comes and says can I get you anything to drink and are you ready. Okay...so we order. I have the big breakfast ( eggs, sausage, bacon, I skipped on the ham, potatoes, toast, pancakes) Hubby had a breakfast burrito. I also ordered a coffee (no flavor not strong at all tasted like water) Our food came out which looks good. But no silver ware .. waiting for 2 minutes for our waiter to come back so we can say we don't have silver ware (which the girl in the beginning forgot to bring with our menus, everyone else got them with their menus) She brings silver ware,salsa, jam, 2 types of syrup ( never said what it was) My food- eggs- good Potatoes- good Bacon- good Sausage- ok Toast- umm hard as a rock, not warm, no butter Pancakes- ok, nothing to rave about. Coffee - blah not good( waiter brought me coffee and creamer no sugar) she then noticed I was looking for sugar and brought me some. Hubby's food- Burrito they left the burrito on the griddle to long which made the bottom of the burrito hard like a cracker. Inside was not that great. Orange juice- minute made? As we sat there we noticed our waiter was a lot nicer to the table next to us. She came up to them and told them what was most popular on the menu. What she liked to eat there. - she never said anything to us. The other one waiters were nice, one guy was really friendly with his table. There's no consistency in service. We didn't get any good service. To top everything all off. A table next to us was being served food and the girl serving them their food turns to our table and says do you need this pointing to the syrup and takes it and puts it on the other table... okay Like I said PAC I really wanted to like you but the service just ruined it for us. Edit: (next day) increasing a star for customer retention. The owner reached out and apologized for the service. I respect that. I will give it a few months and try again. If you like bad service and stale/dry food, come here. If you like a 35+ minute wait time, just to get stale/dry food and bad service...COME HERE! Added ourselves on the yelp waiting while at home. Yelp advised wait time would be 20 minutes. We arrived, checked in, and they said wait time would be 35 minutes. We can deal with that. However, the waiting area is literally a small 5x5 space - WAY too small for a busy diner. They do have like 5 chairs down the way, but even trying to squeeze your way to those is an insane journey. Packed like stinking sardines. We we're watching the tables that were leaving and it literally took 5 minutes for the staff to buss the table. A place this busy needs to be ON IT and get to work ASAP and keep the flow moving. Minus one star for this. 30 minutes later. We finally got called up. They said are you Aaron? "Yes." We then waited by them for the longest two minutes of our lives as they were discussing something. Then they take two menus and without acknowledging us, start walking away. As soon as she gets to the table she looks at us like "where are you guys?" We are used to the hostess first acknowledging us, THEN walking us over. Bad service and disorganized. I don't care how busy it is. Got our food about 10 minutes after being seated. As you can see we don't have silverware. Took 2 minutes after our food was served to finally get our silverware. Ordered the burrito plate. Also, in the picture you can see that I was hollowing out the burrito - eating only the inside. Why would I do that? Because the tortilla was super stale. To top everything off, as we were finishing our food, another waitress came to our table and said "oh I need this" and grabbed my wife's syrup that she was using for her pancakes. Didn't even ask if she was done with the syrup. What horrible, low-class service. This place is way hyped up and not worth your morning.
