We stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning and had no trouble finding a table around 10 am. We chose to sit outside, and the patio was clean and pleasant. The service was good, though it wasn't especially warm or personalized. The food, however, was enjoyable. I had the avocado toast, which was fresh and delicious. A friend ordered the coffee and French toast and really enjoyed both. Prices were in line with what you'd expect for a brunch spot. Overall, it's a solid choice if you're looking for a tasty breakfast in a nice setting.
We found this place with the power of social media. We were the first group on a Sunday, a bit chilly in the morning, so bring a light coat. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive to us. We had a party of 9 and it didn't seem like a big deal for her. I had the breakfast burrito, I thought it was gonnabe more on the cheesy side with the description, but they used Mexican cheese, so it was the crumble. I guess the sad part was it was on the outside of the burrito, not inside. I also got a side of their house-made jalapeño chicken patty. The texture was similar to a sausage patty, I wanted to like it, but it needed a dipping sauce or something. Someone got a French toast, it was plentiful but on the sweet side. The meaty omelette, was good, they use chorizo, so heads up. It was standard, no complaints. Someone else got the salmon dish, she liked it. Overall, it's a nice breakfast/brunch spot, like aesthetically. But it's not for me.
Best French Toast in SLC. My husband and I come here for a birthday brunch every year for the Pain Perdu and a side of bacon. Have also tried the breakfast burrito and assorted other dishes which are all excellent. Quaint Paris-vibe cafe on the inside with the coziest patio with tons of umbrella coverage out front. We love to sit outside. Wait staff is kind and quick and also own the restaurant next door. You have to try Trolley Cottage whether you're a local or just visiting. They do not take reservations.

Sadly we came on a rainy day so we could utilize the adorable, however the interior of the restaurant is quaint and cute. The menu is rather small but offers a great variety of options. The breakfast burrito was delicious and the baguette French toast was uniquely delicious. This is located in a popular spot so parking can be a little tricky. But I hope to go back soon to try out the patio!
Six (five and a child) came on a Sunday afternoon and got seated inside. Everything that we saw being delivered to other tables looked delicious! Four of us ordered the Parmesan brioche toast a the other got the croquet madame. Each with a side of bacon and breakfast potatoes. The croquet madame was good but very cheesy. The Parmesan brioche toast had great flavor and the tomatoes were very herby. We also ordered mimosas and green tea. Overall we enjoyed our brunch and the service and ambience were great. There's street parking, parking behind the or building, or you can park across the street at Trolly Square.
We stumbled upon this cute little place while walking around Trolley Square. So glad we stopped here. We decided to share the House Smoked Salmon Tartine and the dish was bursting with flavor. We also ordered a side of breakfast potatoes. Service was great, food was delicious and the cafe was super cute. So glad this was our first stop after arriving in Salt Lake City!
What a yummy breakfast. Highly suggest you come to SLC for a weekend. So much to do here. Great breakfast spot with good service. Hands down one of the best avocado toasts I've tried. Friendly and fast service. Nice umbrella covered patio so we could still enjoy an outdoor meal even in the 90's.
YUM! I loved this little gem- we have been two times now and the food was excellent for breakfast both times. A delicious breakfast burrito and the eggs Benedict will be ordered again! Yum!
The restaurant is really small, so in order to secure a table I recommend going early. They also don't have a place indoors to wait for a table so given that it's winter, I recommend bringing a coat. Barring that, they have the most elaborate avocado toast I've ever had! So unexpected and yummy. I don't even like eggs and thoroughly enjoyed the accompanying soft-boiled eggs!

The Pain Perdu was cooked to perfection with fresh fruit and the Parmesan brioche toast was also flavorful and filling. I got a side of bacon as well, crispyyyyy.
The food here is so ridiculously good!! The pancakes are the best I've ever had. They are soft and a little cakey inside and crispy outside - 100% perfection! The sandwiches and fries were also excellent!! The inside is so warm and cozy. It's a small space but just lovely. Highly recommend and we will go back for sure!!
Had a delicious brunch here with my sister. My sister has celiac and they were very accommodating, she was thrilled when they had gluten free toast for her. I got the Parmesan brioche toast and couldn't have been happier, everything paired beautifully and the hollandaise was wonderful. Service was friendly and we e joyed sitting outside in the lovely garden. I definitely recommend Trolley Cottage Cafe!

Update on my review. The place is always clean, we're greeted warmly and seated right away. It's always like this. Exceptional service every time we come and we've been coming here for four plus years. They even let me get a lunch item at 10:30. Got the spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs are tasty with peppers, the sauce is flavorful with onions, garlic and lots of herbs. Chunks of tomato and it was saucy! I love the dang sauce! It has the flavor of yesterday's sauce and got all those flavors. Perfect!! The spaghetti was El Dante, not undercooked or overcooked at all. There was the perfect amount of food, three good sized meatballs and cheese toast on the side. I've had this dish twice and it's perfect. I'll always get this again. For a beverage I got the "green drink" yes it's called that There isn't any bananas in it but tastes like there is. It's very good. read more
Came in for breakfast on a Sunday morning, pretty empty on the inside, a little busier on the outside. Hard to find parking on the street. The menu isn't big, we decided on cheese omelets. Food didn't take long to come out, it was really hot! The omelette was good, really rich so it was hard to finish, the potatoes were seasoned and hot. The coffee was nice and hot, had good flavor. The trolley cottage cafe is a great place ! The perfect breakfast/brunch vibes come from this place ! Staff is kind and the environment is gorgeous. A comfortable and homey decorated place adds to the cozy breakfast/brunch energy. The food here is TRULY delicious. I've never tried something bad from here !!! I came into Trolley Cottage Cafe for Sunday brunch with a few friends and we couldn't have picked a better place to debrief our Saturday night shenanigans over a delicious meal. Upon entry, the dining space is a small room with cozy seating and cohesive decor. They have a lovely quaint patio for dining in warmer months, and their corner location provides a great atmosphere for downtown dining. 3/4 of us ordered the breakfast burrito, which was filled with all the things I would put in a breakfast burrito -beans, potatoes, poblanos, and queso, and it came in a decent portion size. The flavors worked really well together, although the burrito could've been a bit warmer, and I only got about 5 potatoes on the side. We ordered the Pain Perdu to share and the orange butter sauce was impeccable. Our service was excellent! We were never without coffee and they were quick to accommodate our friend who has allergies. read more

Conveniently located right across from Trolley Square, it gives off charming, cottage vibes that instantly make you feel at home. The signage is pretty minimal, so it's easy to miss if you're not on the lookout. But once you spot the inviting patio furniture out front, you know you've found something special. We ordered the House Hot Smoked Hash, which came with salmon, Brussels sprouts, eggs, and sweet potato. The salmon leaned a little salty, but it actually played nicely against the hearty veggie medley. The Pain Perdu included a fluffy brioche toast with berries, cream, and syrup. It was indulgent without being too heavy. And of course, we had to try the classic Eggs Benedict. It checked all the boxes--comforting, rich, and filling. The hollandaise sauce was creamy and perfectly rich. . Overall, the Trolley Cottage Cafe may be unassuming from the outside, but it delivers a warm and cozy experience. Recommendation to add more variety of brunch options to the menu. Definitely a spot I'd return to for a slow morning or a casual brunch. read more

Pretty much every breakfast/brunch place I go to, I order French toast. This is some of the best French toast I've ever had. The flavor and texture are perfect, always with plenty of fresh fruit and plated beautifully. The quality of every menu item is consistently good. The staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere is quaint and clean. Not much parking behind the establishment, but we can always find a spot. read more

An amazing little brunch/lunch cottage directly across from Trolley Square. It's a small and cozy place and quite popular so it's not uncommon to wait an hour for a table after they open. There's a few outside tables but mainly inside seating. I tried one of their signature items the Parmesan Brioche Toast. DELICIOUS! It's served on a bed of arugula with some prosciutto, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. Also a small side of breakfast potatoes are included. I added a side of their homemade pork sausage for a little more protein. Wow the flavors of this dish were amazing. I almost licked my plate. The service was prompt and friendly and although a small place with every table full the servers kept an eye on everyone. Our coffee was kept full and our server made sure we had what we needed. Only street parking for this place so you might have to walk a block or so on a busy day. I'll be back soon. read more

The French toast was really good! Fresh tasting ingredients and fast and friendly service. The ambiance of the restaurant was quiet and nice to enjoy breakfast at right after a plane ride. Parking is kind of a pain as there were only a few street side spots but didn't see anywhere else to park. read more
I was so excited to finally check this place out! It's a quaint little cafe in a converted house on the corner of 700 E and 600 S. I don't even remember if they have a sign outside? There are only a few tables - maybe 10? inside. We luckily didn't have a wait because we went on a weekday, but there is definitely a wait here on the weekends. They put their heart and soul into their avocado toast! This is one of the best avocado toasts I've ever had. It's topped with hummus, tahini, everything bagel seasoning, an herb aioli, pickled onions, tomatoes, arugula, banana peppers, with a side of a hard boiled egg. It was so filling and so packed with flavor in every single bite. I didn't want it to end! Thank you for creating the avocado toast of my dreams! They have a fairly small menu with a lot of veggie options, and a small drink menu. Excited to have finally checked this place out and can't wait to come back. read more
I love Trolley Cottage Cafe. They have great lattes and one of my favorite dishes is the Parmesan Brioche Toast. It's consistently delicious and satisfying. The servers are so nice and quick to make sure everything is tasting good. Ambiance of the restaurant is home-y and welcoming. Due to the size of the dining room, your wait time can vary. I love getting here around the time that they open so that there is little to no wait time. Would recommend! read more
Trolley Cottage Cafe is a cute spot to get brunch or lunch - the pain perdu is so delicious (and this is coming from two people who normally don't like eating sweet things early in the day). The pain perdu was for sure the star of the meal- I recommend ordering a plate to share for the table. My mom and sister got the salmon hash and I got the quinoa bowl. I enjoyed all the elements in my dish, but do wish there was more tahini drizzled on top. Everything was satisfying and filling, and our server was friendly and fast (despite it being quite busy on Christmas Eve). I love coming to Trolley Cottage Cafe whenever I'm in town because the food is consistently delicious - it's a great local neighborhood spot and it's nice to take a stroll around Liberty Park after eating. read more
