The ability to get on the waitlist before arriving is probably the best thing ever. We went during one of the busiest times of the day and being able to get on the list before made the time go much faster. We checked in with the hostess after we arrived and were sat pretty close to the shorter estimated time. We ordered the Pot of Gold and Country Fried Steak, both of which came out fast and fresh. I absolutely love their hot cakes - it's like a more hearty pancake with a buttery taste and is perfect with either the regular or boysenberry syrup. The staff were very welcoming and the rest was well-kept. Highly recommended for a great breakfast spot!

After 5+ years, we decided to give Penny Ann's a second chance. It's always highly rated but, the only time we opted to try it, the dining room was gross. I guess the second time is the charm. We got there 15 minutes after they opened. We got seated right away and the dining area was clean. They were also well staffed, I'm sure in preparation for a busy Sunday breakfast crowd. Our waitstaff was amazing. My bad, I should've gotten her name. The food was so good. My veggie bowl plus ham (I love veggies!), was outstanding. This is our new breakfast place!! Second time is the charm!!!

The service was great, me and my family were seated right away and there were a lot of people in there too. The place is clean and not too loud. My one complaint is there's only two single bathrooms with one toilet each. There's at least 50+ people there this morning and there was a line for them. They need bigger toilets. Now on to the food. I got a single stack of pancakes (2) and there is a special of Dubai Chocolate on top. I was surprised to see there was topping between the layer too. That was fantastic to see and the topping was flavorful on already fluffy buttermilk pancakes. The Dubai topping consists of toasted pistachios, chocolate sauce and some kind of crunchies. I took a picture of it. I would definitely get this again!! My family equally enjoyed their food so I want to give a shout out to the cooks....job well done!!

We enjoyed eating at Penny's Ann's café. The place was beyond crowded on a Monday morning. I got their pancakes, which I thought were kinda average. Their breakfast sausage was really delicious. This felt like a good place to go if you want breakfast diner food.

Have eaten here many times and enjoyed the food. The coffee was not tasty and watered down. I ordered the breakfast skillet and was so disappointed. The potatoes they use are from a frozen bag, the green peppers and tomatoes were cut too big of chunks and the spinach was under cooked and chewy, the swiss cheese was chewy and not melted good. Seems like there food quality has gone down hill! Service was great!

Lucky the service was so good... the food? A disappointment from previous visits to PAC locations. Busy, kind of loud inside, not much to muffle the noise bouncing off the hard surfaces. I had the chili verde omelette with the hot cakes. The chili verde was off for me. Not what I expected and very thin, little pork, and the spice was just not right. The omelette was overcooked and rubbery, too many undercooked onions (and I love onion!). The potatoes were the standard cardboard texture Sysco type frozen... not hot. My pancakes were good size but again, over cooked and dry. Not my experience in the past but - it's how I see PAC now. It's always on my list to go when I come back home but may search alternatives next time.

My family love this place, every time they are in town, they want to come here. The fried bread and Dutch pancakes are one of the best in town. Ambience is the typical dining, simple and clean. Service is good. 4 stars because service is not consistent, but it's a place that I keep coming back with family.

I love Penny Ann's! The locations in both Taylorsville and Draper are great I usually try something different each time, and I've never been disappointed. Their pancakes are absolutely amazing! The service can be a little hit or miss, but I've never had anyone ruin the vibe. It's one of my go-to spots to grab breakfast with family and friends whenever I get the chance

Penny Ann's is that diner feeling you just crave Some Sunday mornings. The wait is definitely worth it. The coffee was filled quite fast and with a smile all the time. The taste of that coffee is just what you would expect from This kind of place in a good way. What is overly frustrating at some breakfast spots is when the mugs are too small. These were the perfect size and style and one that I would consider purchasing on my own. These PAC Benedict was only ok in my opinion but only because it was my fault that I assumed it was a more generic Benedict. Just learn from me by reading the actual menu first. The pancakes were to die for as usual though. Give this place a shot and you won't regret it.

We had an early appointment this morning so my wife and I had breakfast out at the Penny Ann's Cafe. With a comfortable vibe and clean accommodations, this is a great place for couples or families to get a great meal without breaking the bank. The breakfast burrito was packed with eggs, potatoes, lots of veggies and I selected ham as the meat, but sausage or bacon are also available. Hot and fresh, it was delicious. My wife got the corned beef hash because it is made from scratch. She added two over easy eggs and an order of wheat toast to complete things. Also delicious. Corned beef hash made from scratch cannot compared with the standard cans of premade hash other places serve. Add to this a courteous staff who operated together as a team and checked in with us regularly to make sure everything was going well and you have an outstanding breakfast experience. We give them our highest rating and hope you will give them a try soon.

Come hungry! The portions are large and the food is delicious. I live for diners like this. A bottomless cup of coffee goes with everything! My omelet was good, i would have loved to get some salsa with it. My boyfriends smothered burrito was CRAZY it was delish (i stole a fewww bites). And the potatoes were crispy and flavorful without any seasonings! Waitress was kind and attentive. Id come back if I lived anywhere near the place.

It was a busy holiday/Saturday morning (we went on New Year's Day, but LUCKILY I had joined the waitlist through Yelp an hour before we wanted to eat. We still ended up waiting about 30 minutes after our original preferred time, but I can't imagine we could have held out (with two toddlers) if we would have just shown up at the time we were meeting our friend. Penny Ann's has down home cooking perfected. The Heavenly Hot Cakes are just that. Their side potatoes are crispy, but not oily (air fried?). The bacon was crispy, but not burned. Our friend had the cheese omelette with ham and said it was great! We had a good amount of food for the price we paid and I had my coffee to start my morning/afternoon. I would be confident in saying that we'll be back.,, and next time: I'm trying one of the AMAZING looking omelettes. read more

Always perfection! Everyone in the family likes something different. Their scones are heavenly, pancakes amazing, I love the pot of gold. It's huge. You can split it or it makes great leftovers of your eggs are scrambled. My husband loves the corned beef omelet. And the Reuben. Delicious. And the wait staff is awesome! read more

Large satisfying breakfast spot that gets very busy quick! It is very filling whatever you get so come hungry. Their potatoes are like fried potato disks more like fries. None the less still good, all hearty. You'll recognize it by the wait crowds that form on the weekends when the weather is nice out. Penny Ann, you succulent temptress. If I didn't have a husband girl, it. Would. Be. On. The portions are SO huge here and everything is delectable. The pancakes don't even need syrup, the smothered burrito was GIGANTIC and the Chile verde was so delicious! My husband got the pot of gold and preferred the gravy with it over the verde sauce but it was tough competition. My brother in law got the chicken in waffle, I personally prefer my fried chickens on the side of my waffle but I ain't mad at you penny. You can't go wrong here! Amazing! read more

Got recommendations for this place. It certainly met the expectations. There was a huge crowd at 9 am on a Friday. We had to wait 15 min to get seated. We sat at the counter near the kitchen so we got to see all the food. The portions were huge and everything looked amazing. The raspberry white chocolate chip was probably the best French toast I've had. Then the Pot of Gold had so much in it that I could barely finish. My wife got a massive waffle. We would like to try the heavenly cakes since we didn't have any. Maybe at one of the other locations! read more

Best breakfast joint in Utah.. if you plan on trying it out, get on the waitlist as early as possible lol. Party of 4 on the air list for 1 hour and 15 minutes but the food and service was well worth it. Make sure your ready to eat or share food because the portions are very large... from time of being seated to getting everything we ordered was about 15 minutes which was crazy for the amount of food. I just snapped a picture of my chicken fried steak because I did not see it on any reviews. Definitely a must try. read more

This place is DEFINITELY worth the wait times! The online waitlist is an amazing feature! We got on the waitlist while we were leaving the hotel, and arrived on time to be seated within 5 minutes of our arrival! The staff was incredibly friendly! Our server Ryan, was seriously so awesome! She was running circles around all the other servers! She interacted with all of us, and was so cute with my kids! The food was AMAZING! So much food we took a lot home with us!!! Came here today with my girls! We were wanting to try it since it's so busy every time we drive by. It's a cute little cafe on the inside. We were seated immediately. Our food looked really yummy and tasted good but was not great. Our server was great! All of our food was a little plain. I will come again and try their waffle options and see if it's as good as we were hoping. read more

Gloria was an amazing server! We sat at the bar top. It was crazy busy and we were served and ate in 30 minutes. Food was incredibly good. I got the Pot of Gold! YUMMY! Wow! They aren't kidding around about their pancakes! They are hard to put into words you just have to put them in your mouth! Fluffy and flavorful really a wonderful treat and the price point is terrific. $13 for eggs, bacon, hash browns, pancake and a soda! read more

Great spot with a large menu and friendly staff. They're known for the breakfast - I got the big breakfast with the sour cream hot cakes - excellent. The scone was great too. My husband got the Ruben and enjoyed it as well. Highly recommend this place! read more

They all were so good that we couldn't agree on a favorite. Breakfast burrito and ube pancakes for mains. The burrito was STUFFED with delicious chorizo, cheese, egg, and veggies. Wrapped in a super large tortilla then grilled for crispy exterior. Served with a fantastic salsa with hints chipotle heat. Great flavor but not so much that it buries the flavor. The ube pancakes were also incredible. Four large, lightly crisped cakes topped with ube whipped cream, blueberries, blueberry syrup drizzle, and a mint sprig. First bite was so good that I didn't talk for at least five minutes, so I could shovel in more and more. They came with a side of syrup, but it was definitely not needed. I'll certainly be back to try more menu items, but it'll be hard to resist temptation of the burrito. If you've eaten here before, it's probably time to go back - if you've never been here, it's time to go... now!

The chilaquiles were outstanding and my favorite part of the dish were the beans: creamy, smoky, tangy. They paired really well with the sweet tamal-- a total ratatouille moment! Also had a mango mimosa and my wife ordered a cold pistachio latte and it was heaven. I'm definitely returning in a couple months to see if there's any improvement and will update.

They have fallen into the trap of "let's offer a variety of things to appeal to everyone" which naturally turns into, not doing anything well because the kitchen staff is trying to do too many things. They have everything from nachos, Enchiladas, fish & chips, steaks, pasta, flatbread, fish, salads and a mish-mash of appetizers. I ordered the "blackened salmon". It was. It blackened but lightly seasoned and pan fried and literally downing in butter. The mashed potato it came with were not creamed potatoes but had so much butter, that much can't be eaten as all the butter in the dish is so overwhelming. Other At my table got prime rib and pastas. They don't really say much about them after they got them, which isn't a great sign. The ambiance was probably nice at one point, but the place really needs a remodel. My advice is to narrow down the menu so the kitchen can focus on doing a fixed number of items really well. Then maybe have a rotating weekly or monthly special if you want to keep the menu fresh. Too many things means nothing is done well. If they update the menu in this way I would try them again, otherwise I have no reason to return based on this experience.

We ordered takeout breakfast online at Penny Ann's Cafe in Draper, Utah. When I arrived, the cafe was packed with a line of customers waiting to get a seat. That's always a good sign of a great eating establishment. Our order was ready to pick up when I arrived. The waitresses were very attentive, and didn't think we had received enough hot cakes, so they added several extras, as well as more butter, maple syrup and boysenberry syrup. The omelets, bacon, and potatoes were very good, and pancakes were thick and fluffy. Great experience for us all. Food is good, thick cut bacon and they have generous portions. I Like their sour cream pancakes though they are not for everyone. Their omelets are big and filling. Not a place for counting calories. I don't recommend the pies as tempting as they might look. And this place is loud so not a place for a meeting also. Stopped in for a late breakfast. The place seemed really busy for a Tuesday. It did not take long to discover why. Was immediately greeted and seated. The place smelled wonderful and was very clean. The only thing that would make it better is of they had a location in Utah county. I am willing to drive half an hour but if I didn't have to I would be here a lot more! Classic diner with lots of tables and booths. I sat at the counter and had excellent service, friendly staff. Their known for the pancakes but the chicken fried steak was delicious.
