They have really good coffee I always get a depth charge with honey and a little bit of whole milk. They do a really good job with their fresh baked goods and pastries and if you're lucky they may even have some day olds that are still almost as good at a little less cost. They have really good water on tap both sparkling and fizzy water that are no charge when you're buying something there. Free parking in the back and in the front. The staff is always super nice. The menu is filled with healthier options to fuel your day. The macro bowl with tofu was quite delicious. The tofu looked bland but it was actually seasoned well. Loaded with black beans, roasted sweet potatoes, rice, and bell peppers (all of the aforementioned were seasoned to perfection) atop a fresh spring mix. It's a winning mixture. The morning elixir was good too. Unfortunately, I didn't care for the Brussels sprouts, which I veganized by omitting the bacon and cheese. I do wish they had a few more vegan-friendly options. MSP is very veg friendly, but outside the metro proper it's nice to find places like this to accommodate vegans. read more

We are moving and I just accepted a new job, so we wanted a quick spot to pick up some coffee and bakery treats. Sad to say we were not impressed. When we first walked in, no one said hello or directed us towards where we needed to order. That's normally okay especially if there's a clear spot you wait to order -- but no one addressed us for at least a few minutes. Pretty weird. I understand they're busy but a hello or eye contact with a nod would have taken a second. Then, the guy who took our order (I think the owner) was wearing a mask but only barely. He's yelling orders at the staff (all women other than him) while they're trying to work and they're extremely flustered. I feel very bad for them. The food: We got a smoothie, a protein shake, and a couple sandwiches. The smoothie is basically a juice and the protein shake only tastes like chocolate protein powder. The sandwiches look nice. I'm sure they're going to be fine. I don't know. Even without the less than stellar food, it's upsetting to visit a place where you can tell the employees aren't treated with respect and doesn't take mask wearing seriously. I want to note that all the employees were wearing their masks correctly, but not the guy who appeared to be the owner. We won't be back. read more

My sister and her husband and I went to this People's Organic for supper Saturday evening. There were a number of people in the place, but we got seated immediately- in spite of what turned out to be a severe waitstaff shortage. We did have to wait between each part of this meal, but the poor thing was doing her level best. In the end we had our drinks comped and we got to pick out a dessert, since we were there a very long time. We sat outside, which was really nice and when the food came, it was hot and excellent! I had the house made veggie burger, which was great! My sister had the cauliflower rice, of which I had a taste and wow was that good! She took half home for lunch the next day and was looking forward to it. My Brother in law had the bison burger and said it was the best burger he had had in a long time. I have to say his french fries were tasty as well. They were working under difficult circumstances and I really had no complaints other than the fact we waited so long for the food. This is a go-to restaurant given where we live. So it pains me to give such a low rating. But...we ordered take out recently and I just can't let the experience go. I ordered a Bison Burger - a $21 item on the menu. When you order they give you 5 choices for temperature/doneness - from rare to well done. I ordered medium rare. I picked up the order, and what I got was: - a burger that didn't even reach the sides of the bun, about 2-3 ounces of meat. - a burger cooked to the consistency of shoe leather. It was well-done at best, but had the consistency of a small, gray, hard air-hockey-sized puck. I called the store. I asked for the manager. I was told the person speaking was the only one aside from the cooks there. The manager would be back the next day, but had gone home. I told the person the situation, and was then told "I'm new, don't know what I can do, I can't do anything." I said I was a regular customer and had much higher expectations that what I'd received. I asked the person to tell the manager the situation and to have them call me the next day. No call. So, I'm torn. This has been a regular establishment for me and my family. I'm on their list of VIPs. But, clearly the store seems on the verge of mis-management, and in my case, the food not only didn't match the price, order nor description, but was barely edible. I'm trying to determine if I continue to patronize, or find somewhere that I can get better food for value, and follow up when something goes wrong. read more

This was my second visit to the Minnetonka location. I must admit that, after a not-so-good experience at the Eden Prairie shop I was reluctant to take a chance, I'm glad I went. What I've learned is that each People's Organic location is different, and in many ways. Unlike my experience in Eden Prairie, the Minnetonka location is warm and intimate. The staff is pleasant, knowledgeable and provides just the right amount of attention. And the dinner items are delicious. I had the salmon with grilled root veggies and brown rice. It was excellent. Sharing the parking lot with a Dairy Queen makes parking a challenge. read more

People Organic in Minnetonka Mills on Minnetonka Blvd is my go to hang-out for healthy food and after work-out coffee and breakfast. On the healthy front, I regularly order the made-fresh steel cut oat meal topped with walnuts and honey. On splurge days, I opt for the Avocado Toast and two eggs or the Breakfast Bowl. The environment is "neighborhood" complete with regulars who sit in the same spots. Location is convenient if you're on the bike trail and there is off street parking for cars. The building is warm and offers out door seating in the warmer months. First timers on some early weekday mornings you will order at the cash register. Watch for and jump in line . Oh, what a disappointment it is to discover that the yummy food you were consuming isn't as clean as you had once anticipated. With a name like People's Organic, I would have expected at least 90% organic food cooked with olive oil or avocado oil, but most of their menu is not organic and is cooked in vegetable oils (canola etc). The food might taste good, but it isn't nutritious as one would imagine. The service was terribly slow every time we went and the food pricey but we kept going because the food tasted good most of the time and we thought it was healthy. But after doing some investigating and getting direct answers, I came to discover all the inflammatory ingredients used to cook and prepare the food with and that most of the food is not organic. Might not bother other customers, I understand, but for me and many like minded people, this has been a big downer. read more

They were literally the worst coffees...both cups were like 1/2 filled...too much foam..and the watery no flavor nutmeg latte seemed to be missing...I don't know...maybe coffee? The food and flavor are just ok compared to years before when I visited.However, I still enjoy the food and will continue to dine there. I prefer the Uptown location as it's the very first one I visited over 5 years ago and was saddened to learn that it's permanently closed. It's a bit on the pricier side too. I have held back posting any negative reviews due to the pandemic, but times up. We walked inside on time for our reservation. There is no hostess. Stood there for maybe 5 minutes with zero assistance where 6 employees walked around. I then went to the back and approached a person who sat us outside, We had our choice of table. Waters were delivered after another 5 minutes while we waited for a server. Server comes and we order a can of beer and a glass of wine. It took 30 minutes to deliver that order due to "new baristas". What? How does that matter? Also of note is that our server, possibly the only server, wore her mask underneath her chin the entire time and addressed us from about two feet from our faces. They clearly need more people, they need better training and they need to follow state guidelines for mask use. Won't be back anytime soon. read more

It had been 7 years since I stepped foot in this "restaurant" and now I remember why. Awful service. Unremarkable food. Our waiter introduced himself and that was the most we saw of him during the evening. It took 15 minutes to take our order. After 10 mins more and yet no water or beverages at our table (though the table behind us received theirs and they arrived after us!), I went inside and asked for assistance. After another 20 minutes, our Brussels sprouts appetizer shows up. Who puts whole walnuts and a glob of maple syrup in a dish?? The Brussels sprouts looked and tasted unremarkable as if from the freezer section of Cub. Our entrees show up and the "waiter" doesn't bother to clear our two top table first, but apparently expected us to do it for him. The burger my husband ordered was dry and tasteless as was my salad. No creativity at all. The only time our "waiter" was prompt was when it came to deliver the bill. He obviously just wanted to get people out as he had a stack of them in his hand. Then he disappears again and when I finally have to go inside the restaurant to ask if someone can run our CC, the clown inside says he can't. Apparently he was too busy scooping ice cream. Keep in mind there was only 1 couple inside the restaurant and about 7 (including us) occupying the outside. In the end, the only positive about this meal and restaurant was the weather which in the future we will find elsewhere. 0 stars! read more

I brought my dear neighbor for a quiet lunch. Waiter staff not friendly and the noise was outrageous. We could hardly hear ourselves talk - they need assistance with acoustics! Food was flat and everything fried though not in menu as such. It was also freezing and when asked if they could make it warmer they said they have no control over the temp. This review is specific to the Minnetonka location. My daughter considers it a cut above the rest. It's a casual, comfortable establishment. I find the prices a bit on the high side for decent but not extraordinary fare. The fish tacos with blackened tilapia are appetizing if somewhat bland. Salads do not overflow with bounty but generally include fresh, flavorful ingredients. Wait staff is cordial if occasionally distracted. All in all, if looking for a reasonably healthy meal and don't want to head east into Mpls for superior food at Common Roots or Tao Natural Foods, one could do worse. read more
