I came here for tires. The price for the tires were great. Here comes the problems, made an appointment for 11am. Came in and was asked to leave my car since there were two cars ahead of me. Ok no problem. Was told I would hear from them through out the day. They also have an app that is supposed to show the progress of the work being done. I never got a call all day, no progress report on app. I call about 4 pm and asked if my car was ready and they said it was. I came to pick up car and one person at counter, three people in line. It took me 45 minutes to even get help. No one even came up to help this poor old man who obviously had no clue as to what he was doing, I'm assuming recently trained. I got up and said your car was ready awhile ago but you gave us a bad number and I said no I did not. He repeats my number for me and I said that is correct, he said it doesn't work. We got that situated. He said in the process of removing tires a lugnut post stripped and if I brought it back today 4-11-25 he would have it replaced for $20 since it happened on their watch. I said cool, came in today and conveniently the "guy" who was gonna fix it called in to work today but he had another guy in the back that would do it for $40. Or if you come back tomorrow the $20 guy will be there, I know it'll just turn into tomorrow after tomorrow. Anyway I waited to have it done and he said it was done and you can go to the back to pay the guy but he only takes cash. WHO Carrie's cash now days? I said you should have told me that before you took my car to the back so I could go to my bank and get money out. He said if I run it through the POS machine that I'll cost more. Made an appointment online to have my brakes replaced on my car they accepted my appointment sent me a confirmation. I drive a hour to get there since they were the only pep boys who had availability, I walk in to talk with the office clerk. He tells me my appointment is canceled and they close in a hour. Talk about customer service. I ask him why was it canceled and me not be notified? He tells me it's self cancelling. How is that even possible? It hadn't even been 30 days, and one of them exploded on him while driving home the other night. I am not happy. The car is better than when I brought it in. Which is what I paid for. I didn't (couldn't) pay for it to be all fixed. The first guy I talked to, Richard, seemed to get where I was coming from. My brakes were making nasty noises and they did an inspection. I got a call in a fairly timely manner and Richard told me the price to get my brakes replaced, which they totally need. But I couldn't afford that. I explained that to Richard and told him I had $500 and asked what we could get done that would keep it on the road for another week or two while I gather up the rest of the money. Richard explained that the front brakes take on most of the work when stopping and he could get my front brakes replaced for a little more than I said I had. Hey, it is what it is. I said, great, do that. And Richard said they would get that done and that it would be ready around closing time. But then I get a call later from someone else. And he starts telling me all the work my car, specifically my brakes, needed. I told him that I already received a call and was told what I needed, that I agreed to what I could afford and was told my car would be ready at the end of the day. He said, "But did he tell you about the calipers?" I said he had not. Well, he told me, they're just broken and they can't go back on the car. And it was going to cost me almost $300 to have them fixed. I said, if that's the case, then that's the only thing I can afford to have done. Do that and don't do the brakes. Oh, he said, we already did the brakes. So, you took something off my car which is too broken to go back on the car and instead of telling me about it, you went ahead and did other work and sprung this on me last minute. I told him I didn't know what he wanted me to do about that since I had no way to pay him. He told me they have a credit card. Well, whoop de doo, good for you guys. Doesn't change the fact that I can't pay you. Credit cards don't make money appear. I still have to pay it. He relented and said, okay, he'll put the calipers back on. I thought you just told me they were too broken to go back on the car. So, you lied. Absolutely, 100% lied. You told something was too broken to go back on my car and then told me you would put it back on. I hate a hard sell. Don't stress me out with that stuff. Nobody is not having work done on their car even though they can afford it. And even if that were a thing, that's the customer's choice. Fast forward a few days. I'm doing a housesit in Golden and while I am doing that I get paid. I also have a day off. I take my car into the Goodyear nearby. I explain that I am getting my brakes done piecemeal and ask if we can do the calipers. They had my car for three hours with no call, so I call them and see what's up. Well, they've had two guys look at it and they're going to have a third guy look at it because they don't see anything wrong with my calipers and they can't figure out why I've asked for new ones. I don't know if there is anything wrong with the calipers. I'm going to have my sister's boyfriend look at them. But I have a funny feeling the guy who wasn't Richard made that up. Anyway, if there's nothing wrong with the calipers, I will get my back brakes done somewhere else. If there is something wrong with them, then I will get them and the back brakes dones somewhere else. My car has issues; I don't need the extra stress of a hard sell. read more

I found a 25% off coupon which made the 8 quarts of oil and labor come out to $87 total! That's a fantastic value for Pennzoil platinum synthetic and a motorcraft filter! You can also follow the progress from a website link they send to your phone and they did a complementary vehicle inspection. They quoted me almost $1300 for various maintenance services that the dealership quoted $1600. Price seemed kinda high for a non dealership but I agreed to it. I showed up at 8am for my appointment. Another person was working in the lobby. He was telling everyone no walk-in appointments as they are already overbooked. When he got to me (3rd in line), he told me he wasn't sure they could even get to my car today, as my various things would take 7 hours. And they apparently have some line vehicles they need to do in addition to us off the street people. He tried to reschedule me, but I couldn't do it. 3 months with: Thousands in Damage. No car. No communication. This has been by far the worst experience I have ever had. I paid $800 to have my radiator replaced. In what should have been a basic installation they managed to crack my transmission cooler lines, which I discovered while driving 60+ mph down the highway. My car died almost immediately, 60mph to 10mph in less than a minute. I then had to have my car towed to this location 3 separate times before they finally had AAMCO look at my transmission and agree it was destroyed (I have this in writing). This was over 2 months ago. They have not provided a rental and I am still waiting on their claims department to get back to me with any status updates. I have called, my lawyer has reached out, and I only get voicemails with no return calls or emails. 3 months with: Thousands in Damage. No car. No communication. They still have not paid AAMCO for the diagnostic. The transmission will be over 7 Grand to fix. In short, Pep Boys almost killed me and absolutely killed my car. read more

I kept driving and realized I had a flat! I pulled over somewhere safe and put my spare on. I came in to buy a battery for my car. Went to install it myself in the parking lot and had issues with the mount. Went back to buy a J bolt, wrong size (my fault I eye balled it). Exchanged it for one that was way too big but would work with the battery. Only problem is the other bolt wouldn't secure. Went back in to look at bolts and thought to myself something might not be right, why am I buying all of these for my car. I asked for assistance and Lee was more than happy to help. He came out and took a look at the battery. He knew right away what the problem was: the used dealer I bought the car from modified the bracket to fit a smaller battery. Lee went inside to get some tools and came back with pliers and elbow grease. He fitted the mount for the battery but he wasn't finished. He saw the J bolt I bought was too big so he took it inside and had it cut and ground down to fit my car. He buttoned it up and I thanked him for his work. As I'm in my car, I go to start it and it didn't want to start the first time. I tried it again and it started right up. Then I hear a knock on my window. It was Lee. He heard my car not start and wanted to make sure everything was working okay. That is when I knew I would be coming back here for all my auto needs. Thank you so much for your help Lee! I logged in to review my experience today with this business. I wasn't surprised with the incredibly low score this business is ranked. It's validating to see that the majority of the folks that have tried this business agree that this is a one star or less establishment and worth staying clear of. I live in the area and there are multiple auto parts stores around, this being the closest to me. I have visited approximately 5-6 times for simple stuff like fluids, car wash stuff, breaks, etc. every single time I'm am here there is no employee around and they have 1-3 car bays open and remotely functional. Literally waiting to pay for 10+ minutes for and employee to stumble on the cash register. The folks working in the store are basically clueless about mechanical information, they can be trusted to read the label of a product and that is all. No accountability, example. Today in your store you had some kid working the maintenance counter. I call in regarding a patch for a tire and this kid informs me that someone missed their scheduled appointment and to hurry and come in so and I can have it. I leave work to come over as for the last week it's been either a no or over a 2 hour wait. I arrive, to yet again no employees and the kids manager informs me that he assumed the tire was off the wheel and that since he had to jack the truck up to take the wheel off he can't schedule me in for 3 days. To complete a tire patch.... While you literally have 90% of your bays open. All the while the guy behind me literally asks me how long you been standing here? I tell him 15 minutes and he walks out. The kid behind the counter is using his cell phone to call a friend at another store to walk him through the process of checking someone out. The manager won't give a lady a receipt for work they completed on her car, etc. etc. etc. This is a one star business. Go somewhere else. read more

I've visited this location twice for an oil change. Service was always great. My A/C was blowing hot air recently and I took it in for an estimate. PepBoys quoted me at $3,200 and told me everything that makes the A/C function was basically shot. Okay, so I don't know anything about cars and I knew this was a reach. So I took my car in to AAMCO for a second opinion... and what do you know.. $188 later and my A/C is blowing cool air. Could you imagine if I allowed PepBoys to render services for the price they quoted me. Talk about a bunch of cons! Update: PepBoys also informed me that I needed my back breaks and rotors replaced. $560. Dropped my car off at AAMCO this morning, they call me back informing me that my breaks are perfectly fine and asked me who told me they needed to be replaced... ha the same place that quoted me $3,200 for an A/C repair.. cough cough PepBoys that's who. I ordered my tires on Monday for an 8:30AM appointment. On Friday I arrived at 7:30 and was informed my tires still had not even arrived to the shop yet and wouldn't be until 9:30. As I did appreciate the honesty of the employee that seemed a little ridiculous. There was an estimated 90 minute window for the work to be completed, the tires did not arrive until around 10:00AM when I called back to check on the progress. There was no apology at the moment in the morning or in the afternoon when I came back to pick up the car and I was not going to ask for one. Everyone acted like this was a normal process, which seems like this probably happens all the time. Terrible customer service and even worse operationally. I will never come back to this location or any other as it seems like this is more of a whole company issue. This place sucks. read more

I was very optimistic about coming here due to the coupons they offer. The staff that I worked with was very nice but the time I spent waiting was unacceptable. I had an appointment at 3:00pm. My car was not moved into the garage until 4:00pm, with one other car inside the 10-car bay. I waited over an hour, after my scheduled appointment time and the car is just now being worked on. Typically I wouldn't complain about a wait time, but what's the point of scheduling an appointment if you wait over an hour for the car to even start getting worked on? If they were bombarded with customers, either an appointment should not have been available, or I should have been notified of the wait time before handing over my keys. This location needs about triple the technicians they have. Then he keeps rambling about why they don't deal with transmission issues and not once does this lazy ass apologize for not being able to help me. I had to go back to get the guys name, I was helped by a young beautiful girl that looked to be in her 20s, now SHE was nice. This girl said she just started working there at Pep Boys, too bad they can't all be nice and helpful like her. I have been a customer of Pep Boys in 3 different states, for many years with no complaints. Today I scheduled an appointment for 3pm for an oil change. When I arrived there was 1 car in the bay, with 9 open slots and 2 customers waiting; so I thought the wait would be normal. WRONG. My car did not get brought back to be serviced until 4pm, and at around 4:30pm an employee came up to let me know that it would be best to 'reschedule' due to lack of technicians. I understand that things happen, but I had been waiting over an hour and a half for them to finally let me know that there was a delay. When I turned my keys over and checked in, they could have given me a heads up that it may take a little while, which would have been acceptable. But to wait that long, just to be told it would be better to reschedule was extremely frustrating and a waste of my afternoon. One star because they gave me my keys back, and mumbled sorry. I live not far from this Pep Boys so I always bring my car here whenever I need an oil change or it starts making weird noises. It can on occasion take a while to get the service done because there are so many cars there being worked on but I bring a book so I'm just fine. They will try to upsell you but to be completely honest, I work in an industry where we are required to upsell as well so I don't hate on them for it. And I usuaully take them up on some the suggestions because they are regular maintenance things I never think of fixing until something blows up. They are honest as well. When I used to have an older car and would bring it in for an oil change, they would come out with a list of everything wrong with my car but were always honest and said if you fix numbers 3, 10 and 142 your car won't blow up, the rest can wait until later. read more
