I went there again on my day off (Friday 5/30) and asked how much an AC inspection was, since the website advertises a FREE quick check, an AC System Evaluation starting @$55, and a MiST In-Car Air Quality Service Package starting @$68. I told him that my car's AC had a a moldy/musky/mildewy smell, I changed out the Cabin Air Filter, and used a deodorizer and the smell came back. Then I mentioned how it started blowing warm air with a smell when it was set to cold, but that I turned the heater on and the cold started working again. He told me "we don't do AC inspections on Smell alone" and then suggested that I go to Autozone to get some Air Vent Spray because that might help with the mold/mildew, since their inspection wouldn't help with mold/mild. Had my alignment done on my car (03/26/2026) and I could see that the steering wheel was not dead center, when I let go of the steering wheel vechile starts drifting to the left, when I speed up to 50 phone my car starts shaking. I did schedule a realignment but did not go. I dont trust Pepboys employees touching my car. I will be taking it to a shop that specializes in alignments. read more

I bought some tires from this store, because Costco won't put tires on cars that use two different sizes (fronts smaller than rears). I had a warning message and took it in to the store for eval. The tire folks said I had a TPMS (tire pressure management system) failure in one of my sensors, and the other 3 were ready to give up the ghost. The quote for replacin 4 sensors: TWELVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!! I laughed, and decided to look up the repair elsewhere. I did not think that Costco would help, but called them anyway. They quoted me much less, and I went there to get the new sensors for around $260. I asked the staff back at the store to give me their best quote, but the gentleman who helped me (very nice, btw) told me that was the best he could do. I know that repair stores have a way to look up costs, labor, and taxes, and they have very little leverage. I just found out the labor rates start at $170/hr at this store. My LAWYER doesn't even charge that much!! I'm very sorry about this, but I will never again suggest anyone use this repair facility, due to outrageous high prices. If the owners of this store would give their service writers more leverage, maybe the bays wouldn't be so empty. read more

Pat was so Awesome! I originally ordered my tires and set an appointment thru Walmart on serene for 10a, while there they cancel my appointment telling me their tool wasn't strong enough to get the lugs off that I had to go to the dealer. They loaded my tires in the car and I went on my way, of course no one told me most places won't use tires you purchased elsewhere. Luckily, I passed this Pepboy's location on my way home to regroup. Pat took me in and explained that he could try with his tool and made sure I understood if he couldn't get it off or if it broke that I could accrue more cost. Not to offend anyone's service or quality of work but not sure how a simple 4 cylinder vehicle oil change service comes to 72$ dollars out the door. Absolute worst experience for a simple oil change. I walked in for my appointment and immediately the cashier Marco demanded my keys. "Give me your keys, now sit down!" I didn't even get a chance to have a greeting. But there was another employee standing next to him a fat mechanic (I'm assuming) wearing a black hat who simply laughed. It's fairly obvious they do not care about customer service here. I'm not sure what else they don't care about as I'm not positive they did my oil change properly as when my keys were returned nothing was mentioned about my oil change, I was just handed papers. It was extremely sketchy, I recommend not using this location at all, that was the worst experience I've had for an oil change. Not sure how those 2 still have a job, you shouldn't be treating customers poorly as their the reason you have a paycheck. Just completely disrespectful and as representatives of Pep boys now you have smeared their image with me. Marco is a mechanic.but when I came in he was running the place as if he was the manager. His amazing customers service started before he actually helped me. As I stood there and watched him help a couple before me. The way he was detailed in the was explained the process of how their car was going to be take care of. The time he takes to make sure a customer is knowledgeable and feel comfortable leaving their car is something lost today. So when I walked up I know already I was in good hands. He helped me was kind and left me wanting to share my experience with others. I ask him if he was in charge as he explained he was not. So he was doing the job of others most likely with out the pay. I don't take my car there, Firestone, Purrfect, Jiffy, Goodyear (yes, Goodyear) or any of the major Auto shops. One thing you need to know is that mechanics these days get paid a salary plus bonus or extra $$$ for how much work they get in. Go in for a tune up and leave with a timing belt change? Hanukkah gelt! Or, they may do a great job the first time then make up for it on your next "trusted" visit. I gage auto shops by how they treat my wife. Firestone ripped her off big when she got a low tire. Ended up with two new tires, a balance and alignment. Her tires were only 2 years old! I ride my bike more than she drives her car! Pep Boys wanted her to change her air filter when I had just done it a week earlier. The best mechanic is one that has been referred by more than one person. Usually a good friend or friends. Ask around at work. If you get a second "Oh yeah, he's good." then risk it! It usually ends up being a smaller shop. You may need to make an appointment but they are a better bet than those carnivores at the mainline shops. Carmax West Sahara is actually a decent place. They get the bonuses but seem to be more fair about your repairs. And, they are definitely certified. Mike or Jason at West Sahara are two honest guys. I know them both. read more

It was SUNDAY , Oct. 9th after church, and my warning for tire pressure went on! NO ONE was open near me, and I was worried I wouldn't make it to the Eastern/Warm Springs location. I drove slowly. It has been a year of multiple hospital stays for me and I had just started getting out again. I was in a panic. I was greeted by PAT...aka Guardian Angel....He assured me that whatever the problem was, He would fix it. He calmed me down, and took care of the situation with patience and knowledge. He went the extra mile to help me smile.....and told me to come back if there was any other problem. I would not have made it through the day without his kindness. He had an amazing knowledge of what to watch for, and how to repair anything that it could have been. I needed an oil change and since I was low on funds, I went with Pep Boys because I have their credit card plus they sent a 25% coupon. That is how they get you. I couldn't find the exact cost online but I went anyway. My reservation says I need a synthetic oil change and tire rotation. Made a 9 am appointment. Got there on time and told the desk clerk that I had a 9 am appointment and he says okay, I three of them scheduled. Gave him my name and he checked me in. I was in no rush so it was no problem that they didn't take my car until 9:55. The problem was it was returned 12 minutes later. I timed it. I asked the desk clerk was he sure all the work had been done, even the tire rotation. He nodded yes. I paid and then inspected my car and noticed that the tires had not been rotated and I knew because a month ago I had purchase a tire from this same location and it was in the same location. I told him just that and walked away. I did write to PepBoys to let them know my disappointment. After a couple of emails I received a call from the Manager and he said he reviewed the cameras and in fact the tires weren't rotated. He assured me that he would remedy the situation by personally taking care of my car. Made an appointment for a few days later, got there and was told he had to leave early because of a dental emergency. I had to call him myself to reschedule. Got there that day and told him who I was and he didn't have a clue. I had to remind him because the wanted to charge me $110 for the oil change. They took my car back but Andrew who told me he would personally take care of my car stayed at the front desk the entire time. So much for his guarantee. I did check to make sure they were doing was expected and was satisfied. But I will no longer patronize them. The trust was gone. read more

My cylinder was misfiring. I brought the car to pepboys. They replaced the ignition coil and spark plug. A few weeks later, my check engine light came back on. Pepboys told me they forgot to clear the code. This happened again a few weeks later. They said again that they forgot to clear the code. Been here twice hoping it was just a bad day the first time. Only went here since the tires I needed were a bit cheaper than a few others I called. You get what you pay for. Horrible unprofessional service. Made an appt but guy told me oops I sent the only tech on break I forgot. Had to wait an additional hour. Went here again since my tire rotation was supposed to be free with my 4 tires I just bought there. Spent $850 so figured at least I can go every 5-6k and increase the tire life. Again, called for an appt and I believe his name was Kevin stated you don't need one just come on down. I work 6 days a week and it's my only day with my daughter to time is precious. I went down, and let him know I was here for rotation. Response with a n annoying smirk, "yeah, maybe tomorrow!...I can make an appt for tomorrow" I TRIED but you said didn't do them and now you do? He said he wasn't busy earlier but now he is. WHICH IS WHY I CALLED FOR AN APPT! That's how appts work. He could care less. Different guy, same unprofessional non- caring attitude. My elderly father was charged $260 for an air conditioning repair. They said the repair could not be under warranty because there were no new parts, yet the invoice had $180 worth of parts. Worst service I have ever received. They incorrectly put 3 out of four of my tires on wrong. They had an inexperienced associate do it by themselves. I am not upset by any means with the employee. I'm ultimately upset with the manager, Craig. He wrote the employee up, when my issue was with how he treated me and the problem. I did end up with 4 new tires at the end of it all; however, I was forced to make 6 separate trips down there to get the issue resolved. His customer service skills are awful. He also lied to his regional manager to cover himself by saying he offered me a different tire than the ones I currently have on there so I wouldn't have to wait a few days for a new tire. If that was offered, I would have taken that with no problem. Overall, I have no quarrel with the associates at Pep Boys. They were all friendly and inviting. My issue was with Craig. For being the manager, he seems to not take his job very seriously when he's putting someone's life at risk. read more

I visited their shop about one month ago. I'm in my mid 50's and bought my Altima, new, fourteen years ago. I began hearing a ''squeal'' from under the hood, thinking it was a braking deficit so I brought it in to them. While waiting I observed the reception desk person selling $90 oil changes (many shops abuse synthetic oil's value) along with one or two other questionable practices - it's always a good idea to be on guard when working with tradesmen especially when you're not all together familiar with their line of work. They inspected my car and told me I'd need some $450 - $500 worth of work - I wasn't persuaded. Some of their techniques and conclusions were, in my view, suspect. I sought a second opinion (at Sears Auto Center @ 1511 W.
