Wow, I did not know Pep Boys have been in business for over 100 years since 1921. Amazing! I was in Las Vegas to be a spectator at a pickleball tournament. One day I may play LOL. The front tire on the passenger side of my CA rental car had very low air. Unfortunately, there was a screw in the tire. I came to this Pep Boys on Sahara Ave. It was early evening so they couldn't fix the tire for me that day. They seem to have lost their long length tire inflator. The nice gentleman by the name of Jon directed me to Bronco Tires so I can get some air in the tire. Thank you so much sir! I called them back to make an appointment to have the tire fixed. Griffe was helpful in scheduling a next day appointment at 10:00 AM. Thank you sir! This Pep Boys was very clean and organized. It has good space inside, several counters, a waiting area with TV, and one all gender restroom. Lots of parking. The wait time was not long at all. I probably was here no more than 30-45 mins. I was back on the road in a jiffy. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Service was good. Whether you are a local Las Vegas resident or an out of town visitor like myself, I highly recommend this Pep Boys for your auto repair needs, tire services, and more. So I took my car to Pep Boys for Jose. I had a diagnosis and the oil change for mine again and they told me that I needed my turbo line changed cause it was leaking oil took the diagnosis to Jose at Pep Boys. Jose told me I need the whole turbo fixed on Saturday the 14th. Left the car with Jose to get it fixed even though I didn't have the money Jose tried to give me the car back. The car was running hot. I didn't take the car back. He told me he would do a diagnosis. He never did a diagnosis we drove the car Jose ME on Monday the 17th when I pick the car up because the car when you hit the gas, it doesn't excel. It was like he did my turbo, and he made the turbo worse. Now he come back and say to me That I needed a radiator and a fuel pump and a cooling system. All that seems to be when he did the turbo when he fixed the turbo it had to be something wrong way. He didn't put it together correctly because my cooling system in my air was working before I gave it to him. He tried to give me the car back and tell me to drive real slow I told him no I'm not taking the car back to fix it. He come back and say I need to pay for $200 for the thermostat and then he'll cover the fuel pump now here it is Saturday. He tells me to come and get the car but it's still running hot in the air doesn't work I keep asking him. Did he ever recheck the turbo and make sure everything was connected right so the turbo lines don't heat up the engine and cause it to get hot cause that was the purpose of me getting the car fixes because the turbo wasn't letting me hit the gas and Excel so when Jose and I did the test and he had the machine plugged up, he said he would give me the diagnosis when I came back. He never gave it to me For one. He's not sending anything to my phone or what he's fixing and what he needs to do for the last seven days I paid $1887 for the turbo to be fixed and haven't been able to get the car in 14 days rental car for eight days and now he come back and tell me that I need to pay more money to have the The fuel pump fixed so that's $200 for the Kool. He said there's a leak in the cooling system, but it wasn't there and there was no leak there when we got it diagnosed twice then trying to call the office the office or Corporate. They won't put me through the Corporate. He won't put me through the Corporate. I've been trying to call Corporate ever since the 13th Jose told me to work with him on the car and let him see what he fucked up if he was gonna fix it but he coming back with me with all this money. I gave him my last two checks got advanced on My Job gave him my check because I went for something being $450 to 1800+ another $900. This man's price gouging me and he's been fixing my car for the last four years. No one has touched my car for the last four years other than Jose not US Auto not nobody Meineke did the oil change but Jose been fixing everything and everything he fixed he charged me $1400 or more each time check the record. He literally tear my car up and now he wanna tell me I can't get my car until I pay him. There's no need for me to get the car if I can't drive the car $1800 paid in full and I still can't drive the car and no one from Corporate wants to speak to me. I'm going to the courthouse tomorrow to see what my Legal race is. I will not pick the car up. I will have someone to tow the car from them to another place to see what he did. He never sent me any diagnosis never told me anything that he was doing from the 14th all from the 17th all the way into now Actually the 14th is when I left my car with him so it is another week. I don't know what's going on. I don't know what he's doing. He's working on a whole Nother system instead of the turbo system what he messed up and what he should be fix it so I'm posting this to let a corporate manager know can you CC me back I asked WILLIAMS can you get back to me please so now Jose come back and say I need to pay $1600 again to fix my radiator and he sent me this picture and say this is the radiator but my car wasn't driving like the radiator. My air was working and once he put the coolant in there, the light never came back on then he showed him the diagnosis from Heineken Woody showing that I needed the turbo hose repair he come back and say it was the turbo itself fix the turbo. We took it for a ride the turbo when you drive the car and hit the gas and get hot now he say is my fuel pump a gasket and all these other things that's going on and then he sent me a bill. This is the bill he sent me after I just paid 18 gotta pay 200 and then another $1600. This is not what we discussed before he fix my turbo booster. read more

My 2018 Ram 1500 truck had a rough ride since I'd purchased it a few months before, to the point that driving over speed bumps was painful. Though the mileage was low, I'd guessed the previous owner had frequently towed a trailer and used the truck for heavy loads. (I do most of the work on my vehicles, but I didn't want to do shocks in the driveway.) I set up a 9 AM appointment to have the suspension checked. It took about half an hour to have the problem confirmed; The right rear shock was blown out, but the front suspension was fine. Matt and Zach were able to get new heavy-duty shocks and coil springs ordered in and placed on the vehicle in just a few hours. They didn't try to upsell me services the truck didn't need. The price was reasonable and the truck was ready to be picked up by 1 PM. It's now driving like right off the lot. Thank you, Matt and Zach. read more

I will now stay far from this business & recommend others do the same, for repeatedly wasting my valuable time. This place is more like a bad comedy skit than a business that values its customers. For the second time in a row, I made an appointment here for an oil change, then arrived to find they would not honor the appointment. The first time, I made a phone appointment at 5 pm & arrived early to find the shop closed early, everyone gone. Got oil changed a day later - no apology, no compensation. Today, I arrived early for a 2 pm oil change to be told that there were 10 cars ahead of me and that if I left my car overnight (in a dangerous neighborhood) maybe they could do it in the morning. FOR AN OIL CHANGE. The last manager, John, was great and I considered him a friend, which is why I gave them another chance. The new manager sounds more like a psychiatric patient. He tells me about all his problems instead of changing my oil. He acts like I'm bothering him for bringing my business here. Well: problem solved. We brought our car here with a flat tire, and Pep Boys employees with initials K & B told us the rims also needed to be replaced, claiming the car wasn't drivable. The estimate was a few thousand dollars. We decided to get a second opinion at another shop, and they confirmed the rims were completely fine and only the tires needed replacing. They fixed it for just a few hundred dollars, and the car has been driving perfectly since. The other shop even commented that Pep Boys was trying to sell us unnecessary work. Never thought I would write a review for a pep boys but here I am. Was in a bind as our work van kept getting an "add air" alert as we just drove it here from LA and it was fine. Randomly called and they said I can come in. I felt really taken care of by Josh and the man takes pride in his work. He could have just put air in and called it a day but after I explained the situation he took the time to really make sure the tire was fixed. I was feeling anxious as I was already late but figured that if a man is fixing a tire for a 300 mile drive I better not say anything. After an hour he showed me the work and I asked if I needed to replace the tire in LA and he said he doesn't like temporary solutions as he made it a permanent fix. As a testament to his work, the drive to LA was extremely smooth as my fears of having a tire blown out in the middle of the desert never came to fruition. Really appreciate the work from Josh as well as the customer service from Lucas. I think this place is under new management because the quality of service has absolutely plunged to abysmal levels of absurdity within the past year, and the price of basic services has gone up. As one previous reviewer had mentioned issues with her serpentine belt, I also had her same exact issue with these guys. Took it to them to get it replaced the first time, and then took it back after I kept hearing the same squealing noise. They told me it was the AC hose making the noise and not the serpentine belt. Took their word on it, and got it replaced but immediately pulling off the lot heard the same noise. Took it back again a month later and told them the situation. They looked at it again and said, "Your serpentine belt needs to be replaced." and the proceeded to try and up-charge me on all these other "issues" they noticed on their 3rd walkthrough. Smelling BS, I took it to a local mechanic to get a second opinion. They said the problem with the noise was that the serpentine belt was loose and just needed to be tightened, and everything else looked completely fine. I'm writing this review while my car is getting an oil-change at this location. Apparently oil changes have increased by 30 dollars now as I was used to paying around 60, but now and paying close to 100. The guy on the phone didn't even ask what kind of oil I wanted to use which every oil change place I've ever been to usually always asks. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

I came here in the beginning on Jan to replace my calipers.-- my breaks and rotors were changed out 36 hours prior to dropping my car in this shop. A few weeks go by. And I have to put my car back in the shop-- they confirm that I have faulty calipers. I DROVE back across the country after speaking to STORE MANAGER LUCAS. And he said he get us right. We get to the shop and the employees "conduct a break inspection" and state our calipers are fine & the back passenger break pad was never changed. We have them change it. Within the same day BOTY BACK ROTORS go bad due to the faulty calipers THAT ARE STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND WERE NEVER CHANGED DUE TO THIS LOCATION claiming our calipers are fine. I call them and tell them to get me in touch with the store manager "you can sit on the phone all night until we open if you want" Firstly who says that to a customer? Our rotors were fine prior to coming back to this pep boys. But the rotors literally malfunctioned after they gave us our car back the same day. We tell them to fix it and the manager on duty BODIN OR whatever his name is literally tells us "no it's not our problem"?!!!!?? WHAT. YOURE AN AUTO SHOP. I have been begging and pleading with them To put us in touch with the store Manager and he refuses. 1. You just did a break inspection and did not inform us of faulty rotors. Which they shouldn't be faulty bc we've had them changed in the last month 2. I don't know if he's the customer service department manager but he can't speak to people by any means. 3. 100% would not recommend this shop to anyone. Came in with a little shimmy of the steering wheel when braking. They told me I needed all 4 rotors replaced and all new breaks. They said my rotors were too thin to resurface again...all 4. They said it would be $1400. Keep in mind my car only has a little over 50K miles. I took my vehicle to another shop and was informed that my front brakes were basically brand new and that my back brakes had half of their life still. Also all my rotors were resurfacable but only the front 2 needed to be resurfaced and brake pads cleaned and $100 later, shimmy problem was fixed. On top of that the mechanic took my wheel lock and didn't put it back in the vehicle which caused a whole different problem. read more

Took my truck to them to get my timing belt fixed. They "fixed" it. Then the next day it started making a horrible noise, i took it back, the manager told me it was the tensioner and it happens sometimes but it was fine to drive, a week later i take it back because the noise is HORRIBLE at this point, he tells me i need to fix the tensioner, and he would "help" me by having me to buy the part and the tech would put it on for me and all i had to do was tip him. He said it would only take 30 mins to an hour. After waiting 3 hours, i called them to see what was taking so long, and they tell me i need to get a power steering pump fixed and it would be $280 ($130 for the part and $150 for labor) but the part could cost more because they couldn't tell exactly which part i would need and they would have to remove it, to find out which part i needed. That would take another two hours. I was so pissed i just left. Tried to take my truck to another shop and no one would go in behind pep boys work because the damage they caused was going to cost me about $800 to fix! So i called them back to see if they would just fix the damage they caused and they told me they couldn't get to me until the next week because they only had one tech working there! Now my truck won't go past 60 without knocking and shaking, and it makes a horrible tapping noise when I'm driving it. I will NEVER go to these shade tree mechanics again! read more

I made an appointment for 10 am for the inspection of my car for lift and the manager told me they couldn't do the inspection since they didn't do it until one o'clock, I explained to him that I had made an appointment online, and he simply told me that he couldn't, What if the system was closed, and then he told me that if I wanted to do it I had to pay 47 dollars. So do it with an appointment 19 and without an appointment in the morning 47? Called in for tire replacement appointment . Got there quarter till my appointment . 2 hrs into my appointment and my vehicle is still not on the bay. Why even have an appointment if your NOT going to honor it? I think Pep Boys management Team should have a corporate meeting with ALL Store Managers/ franchisees to honor there appointment system . Very very disappointed on there service! Either hire more staffs or get with the program . Let your (walk-in) customer know it will be longer than usual because your back up with appointments. This review is actually long over due. I live really close to this particular Pep Boys and have been going to Pep Boys for years before I moved out to Vegas. I've had my oil changed here a few times which is why I'm adding an extra star because at least you can get that done even with the lack of customer service. But I came in here after I had trouble starting my car after getting gas & my check engine light came on. They charged me $89 just to tell me what was wrong with my car. I've never had any other Pep Boys or mechanic charge me to LOOK at my car. Not only that, they took out my purge valve, showed it to me & charged me an extra $9.99 when I declined getting my car fixed by them. WHAT???? If I can give this store a negative 5 I would. I went to this store due to another location did a transmission job and shocks on my Infiniti and they did not properly bolt my shocks which could have resulted in a major accident and my transmission was not reprogrammed. I found this out when taking my Infiniti to get an oil change. I didn't feel comfortable going to the original location so I went here. I spoke to Lucas I'm assuming he is the head honcho of this location and he was apologetic and said I will make this right come back Thursday to have me diagnose. Came back at the time he advised me. He had my car all day and he agreed that my car should have been flashed for the tranny to work properly. He stated he will call my warranty company first thing Monday and it was about noon Monday and have not heard back and I called Silver Rock my warranty company and asked if Pep Boys has put in a claim for the car to be flashed and they told me no. So then I called Pep Boys again and they stated that Silver Rock is closed due to being a holiday June 15th. I told them I just called them and they were opened. The employee stated that the claims department was closed but perhaps the customer side was opened. They stated that Lucas will call first thing Tuesday Morning. No update so I called Silver Rock again and they told me they were opened. So they lied to me. I called the store again and supposedly Lucas is always busy and can't come to the phone. I finally got ahold of him and I asked him when will he call my warranty company he told me I haven't forgotten about you I have 3 cars ahead of you and I have a specific agent who I have been dealing with for over -5 years and will update you once I call. I advised him that his word is everything and don't sugarcoat it. I would rather hear the truth than anything. He kept saying I'm gonna make this right. Keep in mind this a week has passed. I kept calling this store and his employees knew me and said is this Jenny with the Infiniti. Then they told me they were waiting for a flash drive and should be in by Friday no later than Monday. I go to the store physically because they wouldn't answer my calls and right away the body language my boyfriend and I got was they was not wanting to help. I spoke to Lucas and asked him what is going on why is it taking forever your employee told me the flash would be here by last Friday no later than Monday and it's Tuesday. He said who told you that? The part is coming from over seas and there isn't an eta. It could be weeks, months or years. Really??? He also added there is a shortage that's been happening and I don't know the eta. He never told me he was going to order any part. He told me he was gonna have another company flash it and just bill him and him go thru my warranty. He told me I wasn't honing to charge you. I'm trying to help you out. I left the store angry coz I know he is full of it. I called Infiniti and asked them about a flash drive and they told me that their master tech said no such thing and the shortage for ecm and tcm was for American cars not Infiniti. I called pep boys again and told this to the employee and he immediately placed me on hold because they know they lied and lied and lied and just wasted my time. This place is dishonest and gives Pep Boys a real bad name. I will make sure to spread word of mouth never go to Pep Boys ever.
