Brought my car in to replace 2 rear shocks, left shop w a metal on metal noise, brought to another liscensed mechanic and it was confirmed that my shocks were not bolted in correctly... major safety issues to me and my car. Wish I could give zero stars. this place is an absolute joke. You wait seven hours to get four tires changed and then they won't do your alignment correctly. They'll hand you the paper with multiple things in the red which is not where it should be. I had to go to somewhere else to get it. They claim they've offered multiple times to pay for it, but they did once and who's gonna go somewhere after complaining and not feeling comfortable in the location. I'd recommend staying away from this location as the manager clearly doesn't know how to run the shop correctly. Spend the extra money at a reputable place like Nashua tire. They'll do a better job. they had to cancel my appointment the first time because supposedly the staff was sick. I was a long time customer until this week. I brought my 2017 Ford Explorer in for an inspection sticker, I was told it failed for a control arm and bushings, which would cost me $940 to fix for inspection to pass. I brought my car to a Ford dealership and guess what? It passed inspection. Pep Boys was trying to scam me for $940 for something that didn't need to be fixed!!! Needed to have the tires switched on my work van, so a job that should take 30 minutes, 45 tops. Had booked an appointment for 10am a week in advance. Brought my car in early, they told me it would be 2 hours max...seemed odd but it's that time of year when everyone is changing their tires. They called and said I would be able to pick my car up at 7pm that same day...when I got there it still wasn't done, and then they told me a sensor was out in my car and that they would need to keep it overnight! 10 minutes later the sensor was fixed... Luckily I didn't have anything pressing to do that day because I didn't have my car for an entire day...just to get my tires changed. Fast forward a week and I had already made an appointment for my regular car. So went in today...same deal just getting a set of 4 new tires. Again appointment was at 12pm, just picking the car up now at 7:30pm. We called at 6:30pm and they said it would be ready for pickup in 30 minutes. Get here a little after 7pm and still not ready. I had a tire pop and needed to get in quickly to replace it. They were able to take me right away and the whole experience was over with in 1 hour. When I first arrived I only was anticipating having to get two tires because I thought my back ones were fine. Turns out they were not, and needed to replace all four. I thought I was gonna be stocker shocked for replacing all four tires. They were able to get me all four for under 350 and even gave me a 15% discount for waiting a little longer than they had told me. I Have made the mistake of coming here multiple times over the years not any more. I had issue after issue they are over priced now for any repairs back in the day Pepboys wss cheaper this was the only appealing factor in going to Pepboys to begin with. Appointments mean nothing you still wait for hours on end even for an oil change. The same line again and again we are understaffed. Last time I went was because another repair shop stated I needed struts done again. I had paperwork from Pepboys showing they had done the struts the last time so I went back to them. Paperwork clearly shows a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the struts . I showed them the paperwork 1st and they handed it back stated they would look at it after looking at the struts . Couple hours later they tell me that I needed struts and proceed to tell me that the Limited Lifetime Warranty was only good for 12000 miles. I was straight up shocked and confused was too upset to argue the point I went home researched it after being charged $38 just for them to tell me they are going screw me over. I looked into the Limited Lifetime Warranty policy it is lifetime for the PARTS and labor is 12000 miles pretty sad when the shop manager doesn't know the warranty policy. The estimate given for the work wss also almost twice as much as the cost of the repairs done elsewhere. Total rip off stay away you are not going save money or time they are not willing to honor their own warranty either. They could at the very least have told me they weren't going honor the warranty before even looking at the struts and save me the bother and money nope the screwed me over again. I went to Pep Boys yesterday to buy some gas line antifreeze. As soon as I reached for the bottle, I heard a loud beep. When I looked towards the beep, I saw a monitor with "Recording in Progress" splashed across the screen. There on the screen was a recording of me with a rectangle around my body and a square around my face. This is something new at Pep Boys. Now I want to make it clear I am not a shoplifter, just a customer. I slowly removed my hand and left the store without purchasing anything. I drove to Walmart and got what I needed. Everyone know that stores use video to monitor for shoplifters. They have been doing that for years. I just find this latest tool to be highly obnoxious and "in your face." It's the same as if a store clerk followed you throughout the store while recording your every move with a video camera. Hey Pep Boys, can you tell your management that I am done with your business? There are other stores that will welcome my business without subjecting me to obnoxious monitoring. Eventually Pep Boys will discover that these beeping monitors are more of a "purchase prevention" device than a "theft prevention" device. read more

I was able to make an appointment for an inspection (nice feature) and arrived 5 minutes late. Only 2 other customers waiting and within 15 minutes they were gone. 45 minutes later, no one is coming out to say "you're all set." I was waiting for the one person behind the counter to help me find out what was happening with my car and finally another person showed up and asked if they could help. I said, "I think my car is ready. It has plastic over the driver's seat." He went out and came back in and said, "No, it still has the old inspection sticker on it." Pep Boys has the worst service and is the most disorganized place ever. I would never ever recommend them to anyone. My car did not pass inspection (not at Pep Boys) due to needing tires. I called and ordered tires on October 7th and scheduled an appointment for October 11th. I arranged for rides to and from work due to this appointment so I dropped my car off in the morning before I went into work. I was called a few hours later telling me that they didn't have my tires which at this point I'm unsure why they didn't call me the night before instead of letting me bring my car there for nothing. At this time the service manager I spoke with was going to order them and schedule an appointment but due to them supposedly ordering them and them not coming in it was decided that he would order them and call me when they came into the store, then schedule an appointment to have them installed. Due to this inconvenience he did offer to not charge me for the alignment. On October 18th (a week later) I still had not heard anything so called in the morning but no one answered and it kept ringing. I again called later and spoke with someone who stated they were from a different store and would be taking over this store. He put me on hold to go look/find where my tires were but at some point I was disconnected so called back. He told me that they did not have my tires which I expressed frustration with this and explained the prior issue. He stated that he would call another store and supposedly go get them personally himself. On October 19th I had tried calling the store several times throughout the day to check in but every time I called there was no answer and the phone kept ringing. I also called customer service/support whatever they want to call themselves (although they do nothing) who only told me they would let people know. On October 20th I again called the store in the morning to avail it kept ringing with no one answering. I again called customer service/support who again said the same thing they would let someone know. By this time I am beyond angry because now I only have 10 days to get/find tires, have them installed and take it back/make an appointment at the place where I failed for a re-inspection. I demanded that someone called today as it is Friday and I know they won't be working on the weekend and then there goes by more time. Of course no one called so I called several times throughout the day only for them to tell me they would let someone know which who knows if they did just like they probably never ordered my tires. So now I had to go elsewhere to find tires and as you can imagine couldn't not get tires ordered, in and an appointment until October 31st which then means I will be driving around without my car inspected because I will then have to make an appointment which means I can't make one until November 1st or depending if I can get in the same day I get my tires done. Pep Boys has severely inconvenienced me to the point where I could be pulled over and get a ticket due to not having my car inspected. I will never use them again. They don't know how to call and communicate, they are disorganized and clearly don't answer phones/call back meaning they don't want your service. There needs to be an option for no stars. read more
