I took my car to Pep Boys for an alignment adjustment because my car was pulling to the left. I talked to Diego in the morning and he seemed professional. After the alignment, I test drove the car and the car was pulling so far to the right that it was possibly unable to operate and a danger to the road. I needed to have my steering wheel at the 11 o'clock degree in order to drive straight. The alignment was worse after the job was completed. I met Diego again and expressed my concern. Diego then claimed that it was my tire wear and that I will need to purchase new tires, which was incorrect and a scam. He tried to sell me new tires. I took it to Toyota, my dealership, and talked with the advisor. The advisor and I called Pep Boys on the phone to discuss that it had nothing to do with my tire wear, but rather an alignment issue. Diego, my advisor, and I talked back and forth over the phone and I requested to speak to someone higher in charge. Diego stated that there is no available manager. During the conversation over the phone, Diego proceeded to hang up on me, which was unprofessional. I proceeded to take the vehicle to Firestone to measure my alignment after Pep Boys. The top diagram in the photo is my measurement after Pep Boys, where Diego claimed that the alignment is straight. After Firestone, my car was driving fine, which showed that it had nothing to do with my tires nor my tire wear. Also, over the phone, Diego called me by my first name. I work in the customer service field as well, and would never refer to a customer by their first name. Terrible customer service!!! Drop vehicle off at 4pm for oil change & tire rotation and break check. We were told that the vehicles will be done in a few hours before closing time of 7pm. Received repair phone call at 5:20 informing us that some repairs was ergent and needed approval which we did and informed us it will be done today and will receive a phone to come pick up when ready & completed. We initiated a phone call to store at 6:59 to check the status and person who answered (Brian) was incompetent of the vehicle and information about the business let along what his manager name is , when we ask to speak to a manger he said he didn't know who that was ! I usually don't write reviews, but this experience pushed me to. I brought my car in on Sunday for an oil change and a skid plate repair. Dave told me he would follow up with me, but I ended up having to call three different times just to get an update. On top of that, they didn't even have the correct phone number on file. Because of this, I could have had the skid plate repaired much sooner. The service was unprofessional and a complete waste of time. If you say you're going to follow up with a customer, then follow through. Now I have to rearrange my schedule because Pep Boys couldn't handle something simple. What a joke read more

I scheduled my appointment online requesting an oil change, brake check, and tire rotation. After dropping off my vehicle, I walked over to stored near by and received a call about an hour later saying it was ready. When I returned, I asked if the brakes had been checked and was told they had not. I also asked about the tire rotation and was told it wasn't done because I didn't verbally request it at drop-off, even though those services were clearly included in my online appointment. As a result, I had to wait an additional hour for the brake check and tire rotation to be completed. When I arrived, I provided my name and was told everything was set, so I'm confused about the purpose of entering service details online if they aren't reviewed or followed. Customer service used to be much better at Pep Boys, so this experience was disappointing. Additionally, I was charged $180 for the oil change. For comparison, I contacted a Chevy dealership and was quoted $98 for the same service. I would recommend shopping around. read more

Wasted my day and my money -- Unprofessional communication Rating: or I am extremely disappointed with the service (or lack thereof) I received here today. I dropped my vehicle off early in the morning for an alignment. The manager informed me that a shop vehicle was currently on the rack but that my car would be next. I never received a single update or phone call. After waiting four hours, I finally called them myself, only to be told they wouldn't be able to get to it at all today. Their "solution" was for me to leave my car overnight. As someone who isn't from this area, that isn't a simple request. I wasted money on Uber rides back and forth for absolutely nothing. If they knew the shop vehicle was going to take all day, they should have been professional enough to call me so I didn't waste my time and money. Setup on-line appointment on Wed 7/30/25 for AC check at Orange Store. Arrived on Thursday 7/31/25 on-time and was told AC tech was out sick and nobody notified me before coming into the store. I asked which other near by could check my car. David made a call Anaheim Hills Pep Boys and said they could take me right away. I rushed over and upon arriving was told that NO, they were backed logged and I would have to way til later in the afternoon. I had a slow leak and went in thinking I was going to have to buy a new tire. I picked out the tire with the guy at the front, thinking we'd have to order it. Instead of having me order the almost $400 tire, they told me they could patch the existing tire for almost nothing, which I had them do. I asked what happened and they said they got busy. I had an appointment, they should prioritize and manage their appointments and deliver in the time frame they are quoting. I am very disappointed. This location always requires appointments ok it's understandable. But if you make an early appointment at 8am your car wont be in the bay until 9-915 the employees arrive late and by the time they open the door and check you in it's past your time. So you can't schedule other appointments because you will be late. The employees could be a little more customer service oriented. read more

Got to my appointment 15 minutes early but for some reason it took them over 2 hours when it usually takes 1.5 hours if I tell them that I'm going to wait in the store. They told me I had a nail in my front left tire but I chose not to have them fix it because I had to go somewhere. Went straight to a trusted tire place afterwards that. I went there to change the 4 tires, paid for Cooper and guess what...they installed Kumho tires which is cheaper than what I had paid for without my consent. I totally trusted them to the point that I didn't even check the tires they installed before driving off. Because who would have thought Pep boys make that kind of mistake?? Lesson learned! Technicians at pepboys left the negative terminal of my battery disconnected and left my battery bracket off my battery and let me drive home. They advised that my battery was not in working condition(5/15 condition) and needed to be replaced but didn't have my battery. I had my battery analyzed at a professional vehicle battery shop the next day and they advised that my battery was in new condition. Pep boys advised that my axle boot was torn and needed to be replaced. Upon my own inspection, there was no tear or leak in the axle boot. Overall, they lied to attempt to make money off of me and left my vehicle in an unsafe condition to drive home. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. A 2018 q5 Audi was taken in for an oil change at which point the technician mistakenly drained the transmission fluid instead of the engine oil then had to keep the car over night as they did not have the correct fluid to refill their mistake. They also did not have the ability to give a rental car at this point. After being out a car for a day they called and stated car was ready and sincerely apologized for mistake. Week later the car went into limp mode disabling the car. Pepboys was called again and they stated to tow directly to Audi as they did not have ability to fix the issue. Upon receipt of vehicle the dealer stated that the transmission drain plug had a slight leak that went undetected and lost a few quarts of fluid. His triggering the computer to limp the car to safety. Pepboys insisted car be towed to the dealer from the get go and now that the car is fixed refused to pay the 1k bill to the dealer for their mistake. Instead want a claim filled out and filed with corporate. This is not the kind of service one would expect when a service place MISTAKENLY drains a system in which they had ZERO business draining in the first place. Mind you previous was in the loop and communicated with daily while the car was into at the dealer for 1 week. So here we are out of a car for 1 week, out of $1,000 for repairs that should have never been needed in the first place and have to spend hours chasing pepboys in circles to try and get reimbursed....mind you this car has 39k miles and is extremely well taken care of. "Still had to air up my own tire" Went for a Black Friday tire deal and made appointment for 1 pm. Got the most robotic person behind the counter telling me it would still take 3 hours. No choice but to wait. 4:30 rolls around as I'm leaving my tire pressure light goes on. Yep, one of the tires was low. Aired my own tires because I was in a rush to do an errand before something else closed. Fast forward 3 days, now we have a flat/slow leak. Had to air up from almost nothing yesterday. Took in and 90 minutes later find out it was a improperly installed valve. YOU HAD THREE HOURS TO DO IT RIGHT! I started off with poor review, but after professional intervention via their customer service 'contactus' portal and a few phone calls from Pep Boys -- my matter was resolved. In other words, I got enough answers to make my own decision about the car. What had happened in my case was miscommunication regarding an unavailable part. I had left my vehicle there all day and it was not repaired. I was told to bring it back the following day, which I did. Then the communication dropped off. And my car was undrivable. Naturally I found the lack of communication to be galling, especially at their prices. Don't get me wrong, the staff is well-mannered and courteous. Their equipment appears to be state-of-the-art. But they are pricey in my humble opinion. A Check Engine Light diagnosis while they are under the hood will cost you. However a complete diagnosis of the Brakes appears to be free, and brakes are extremely important. And again, their equipment and their tires appears to be very modern. And a major Auto Parts company is conveniently next door to this Pep Boys location. read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE and extremely frustrated. I arrived at 5:30 to get two new tires right outside the service center. Humberto, apparently the manager, approached my car asking what I needed. I responded saying I needed two new tires. He left and was just staring at the walls. I patiently waited in my car for 30 minutes thinking he might be waiting on something and he never came back. I proceeded to walk in and he said there was no one to service my car anymore since so much time had gone by. I told him I had been there for 45 minutes WAITING for someone to service my car and he said he couldn't do anything about it. I never leave bad reviews but this was not okay to just waste someone's time knowing that eventually there will be no time left to do a service. So stopped by in the spur of the moment since my tire gauge indicator went on. I was looking all over the place for something that was open late. When I first got there, I walked into the store and walked up to the Service desk to check in and the two guys there were talking amongst each other ignoring me. I thought that they would stop and greet me but they didn't. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and continued to be patient but nothing. I wanted to walk out but I had to get my tire checked. It wasn't till almost 3 minutes past when the guys were like "Oh, do you need help miss?" I told them what was going on and they told me to drive to the inspection area 1 and someone will help me there. The girl who checked my tires did everything quick and placed air in each of my tires. She didn't check the inside of my door to see the specifics and just told me to come back if light doesn't go off. My wife had an issue with her Air Conditioning, took it into the shop. Was told it wasn't the actual A/C Compressor, but the sensor switch. Left her car with them over the weekend. Part was ordered, we took it home in the meantime. Coolant started leaking. Took it in for sensor switch install and coolant investigation. Spoke with a handful of people, parts were ordered. Called to check in on our own, "Audi forgot this..." "It's extra cost." "We thought we had everything..." "Audi forgot this..." "Extra cost here..." "Sensor switch failed, need to replace your A/C compressor" We spent $800 on the sensor switch. And another $1,600 on the coolant repairs. A/C doesn't work still... not coming back at all. read more
