Do not trust these guys. I had been going there because it was closer to work. First, they would take till 3 pm if you give them the vehicle in the mornjng around 8:30 for a simple oil change. Then they would send you a list of items to be done to the vehicles. Air filter, cabin filter etc. they sent it to me and included new battery. I went through all my receipts and realized I had bought the battery from them and they installed it and was under warranty. After two hours, I get the call that the battery was fine and only corroded on top. These guys are crooks. I don't even know if I needed an air filter. Fair warning go to valvoline or jiffy lube where you can trust them that they performed the service. Particularly this location, money grabbing crooks. read more

This location is notorious for not giving you a new sticker when you get an oil change. This is the second time they've done this to me, and last month they got my spouse. You will get all the way home before you realize that they did not give you the updated sticker that you've paid for. Synthetic oil changes are expensive. This time, I checked before I pulled off and saw that I AGAIN didn't have the sticker. I went back. The guy brings me a sticker and it has the CURRENT NUMBER of my mileage, not the mileage that shows when I need to return. I don't know what kinds of games they are playing, but they are doing this on purpose. I have been getting oil changes since I was 16 years old and I'm really old now. Went there for an oil and filter change and was told i have to buy a drain plug and washer for them to do it by a lady writing invoices as they do not accept responsibility otherwise which would cost an extra $15 besides the oil and filter i furnished because all they carry is Pennzoil. PEP BOYS NO LONGER HONORS THEIR OWN WARRANTIES I have been buying my car batteries at Pep Boys since my first Ford in 1974. On the few occasions I've had a problem, I go to the store, they test the battery, if it's bad they replace it in 10 minutes. Bought a battery for my daughter's Nissan Versa in Dec 2021. 30-Month Warranty Champion. Battery went bad. No worries I tell her. Boy, was I in for a surprise. Since Pep Boys was sold, their policies have changed. Now, I was told that I needed to find the original paper receipt, the electronic version that I had was not sufficient. Then I was to mail, not email mind you, mail, the physical receipt to the Corporate Headquarters where they would review the warranty and determine where and when I could get a replacement battery. My daughter's car was sitting by the side of a freeway and they were talking weeks. I will be pursuing this with state regulatory agencies but for now, my advice to everyone is to avoid Pep Boys like the plague. Wait, we just had the plague, it wasn't as bad as Pep Boys. It was already an irritating experience making an appointment here, the customer service is definitely lacking. However I decided to still give it a try because this location is so close to my home so I made an appointment for 3pm today. When making an appointment the customer generally expects to be taken back right away to begin the oil change, that's kind of the point of making an appointment. When making the appointment I already told them this was a fleet management vehicle & they made it sound like it was no big deal to get authorization. The employee helping me had no idea how to process it as a fleet management vehicle & he was extremely rude. After waiting 15 minutes I couldn't take the rudeness anymore & could tell that this was going to take at least 2 hours so I simply left. You've lost a good customer that lives nearby with a company car that has to have regular maintenance, I'll never return here. Instead I'm writing this review from Valvoline Instant Oil Change where they literally got me right in & they're almost finished with the oil change. WATCH OUT, STAY AWAY! Thieves with horrible service ready to steal your money. I just drove in with a mail in my tire. Car is on the lift as I'm told I have to buy a new tire. "It is unfixable" they say. I wasn't born yesterday as the guy says to me "take it somewhere else". I told him I have a new tire in the back and he refused to install. I brought in my vehicle to get a new battery replacement. I placed the order online on Pep Boys and got the appointed two days later. The service department was open at 8:00AM, so I scheduled the earliest appointment available when the store opened. Leo and Asti (or Astil) was able to complete the battery replacement within 45 mins as they promised. While waiting I decided to walk into the store to get estimates on some parts. Jonathan Garcia was there and he assisted me in what I needed. I purchased an K&K Filter cleaning kit and Jonathan was helpful in answering all my questions. I have not been to this Pep Boys location in over 20+ years and I was very pleased with my experience. I will definitely be back when I need to purchase auto parts. I asked to speak with the manager after having my vehicle looked over. Why did I ask for the manager .. well here is the "story" .. I received a call from the technician who looked over the vehicle. . But it was NOT the technician. . It was a high pressured sales man who told me my car was not safe to drive, that the $1300 they are asking for is real low and I need to let them know NOW.. My wife and myself felt very intimidated. . And leary about having the work done.. when we expressed this to the salesman, he started to talk to us like we were idiots. . At that point I asked to speak with the manager. . Still no call after 3 weeks. .. if they don't care about a consumer being uncomfortable with their sales practices. . How much do they really care about the work they do.. we paid for our oil and stuff. . And took our car right away .. what a joke.. I needed an oil change, and came really early in the morning. the guy assured me that it should take no longer than 30 minutes. Worst service ever! Went in for an oil change.. the eta was 45mins. Well that turned into 2 hours. At first I thought that they were super busy, you know. So after I waited in there boring waiting room, they finished and I went about my way. Now 6months later, my car is due for an oil change. I decided to take it to the dealer and have them give me a multiple inspection sheet to see if everything was good.. Come to find out that pep boys stripped my plug and left it on and also added silicone to my drain plug with acts like glue when heated up. The plug was stuck on there really good, had to leave my car at the dealer for a couple of days so they can try to remove it without damaging the oil pan. I made a 10am appointment to get four tires I purchased from TireRack.com installed. I was quoted $17 per tire to mount and balance. When I got there, the total was $120+ because they said I needed "stems" and some other stuff. Oh, and it would be an hour before they could do the job. I bailed and went to an friendly interdependent tire shop just a few blocks down on Reseda Blvd., who mountain and balanced all four tires for $70, with only a 10 minute wait before they got to work. Came here for a Lyft inspection so I'm evaluating that aspect of the business. I can't speak for the store or the shop but JD did a great job with the inspection. Very courteous and prompt with a dash of humor. Had me out of there in under 20 minutes. No fee FYI. Also FYI, if you're going for the Lyft inspection: You're going to go to the shop side, say you are there for a Lyft inspection, sign up on a clipboard in the waiting room, sign up on your phone at a link that's posted on the wall then watch about 9 minutes of a semi-ok movie that came out 10 years ago. Then a mechanic will call your name and take you outside to finish the inspection in a matter of minutes. read more
