Very frustrated. Had an appointment for tire rebalance and rotation (paid for when I originally had the tires mounted). Over 2 hours in the waiting room, and my truck is still in the parking lot. I had taken my car in to get an oil change and I was told I would need to replace my breaks because the pads looked worn. I thought that was strange because I recently replaced everything having to do with my breaks. I said I would bring the paperwork in at another time just to clarify. I came in on a Saturday a week later because when I left from the oil change my air conditioner had stopped working and I also wanted to see what was going on with the breaks. I had called ahead and spoke with a manager or assistant manager who was very nice. When I got to the store I was explaining the situation to the lady at the counter and she responded with, "if you drive like crap you could have to change your brake pads every couple of months." I was a little taken by the insinuation that I drive like crap. Anyway, I was still trying to be polite and explain the situation with the air conditioner when she replied again with an attitude, "if you knew a thing or two about your car you would know that changing the oil and air filter are no where near anything to do with your air conditioner." Ok, I rebuilt my car and usually do my own oil changes so I may know "a thing or two" about what's under the hood. I had her run a diagnostic so I could find the root cause and how much it would be to fix. I sat there for about an hour and she says again, "you can come take a look if you want to learn a thing or two about your car." When I went out to look there was a hole punched in my condenser and she handed me paperwork with an estimate of labor more than twice what the actual part costs. I have visited this Pep Boys before and have always left happy which is why I went very much out of my way to be a loyal customer but with that experience I will most definitely not be returning. read more

I went in for an oil change yesterday and after the service was performed the assistant manager, Ricardo Mendosa told me that my check engine light was on when I came in and my car needed a $89 diagnostic service. I look at my speedometer and instrument panel all the time when I'm driving. I should know if my "check engine" light was on! This manager was trying to scam me and ruined a hose that caused the check engine light to come on after I drove it away. Now my car is broken and will not idle like it was before I took it in. I will never go anywhere else! This place is amazing. The people are so kind and friendly. They really took their time with me. Not a long wait. I just hung out and used the free WiFi. Best part was the price. They have lots of promotions going on, even online, and they price matched for us. I am on a budget, and I paid less for 4 tires than what I was quoted at Walmart, and for better service and quality. This is the least expensive place in the area., ncluding Beaumont, Redlands, and Hemet. They really bent over backwards to earn our business. The tires I needed weren't in stock , so they got them in the next day from another location. Alan and Ric are the best. I never write reviews, but they were too awesome not to do it. I have been here twice in the past week and two other times in the recent past and although I feel that they are trustworthy in their recommendations, their customer service & service times are less than desirable. I thought an appointment would provide me more assurance to be done in time for work, and trust me I left a 4 hour window for myself... They have not done a good job getting my car finished in a timely fashion and the first service for the oil change they spilt oil all over my engine, which then leaked all over my garage and driveway. I finally realized it was going on when I smelled a burning, smoking smell. I immediately took the car back and the employee let me know basically it wasn't a priority and that they would get to it when they could in the morning but that they had many appointments already lined up. Excuse me?! Didn't you just work on my car the same day and mess it up??? Not sure if I can continue to give them a chance, only thing on their side at this point is their honesty... read more

I have taken two cars into this location, both win an appointment and both times was a mess. Car #1 I needed a set of tires they had in stock. I made an appointment. I called twice in advance to see weather I needed to arrange a ride or not and they said it will be no longer than an hour and a half. I waited 6 hours to find out that the morons behind the counter did not relay the information to the mechanic not to re-align after the first go because something is a bit off on the vehicle. I said this to them multiple time before the vehicle arrived and while the vehicle was on the lift. six hours of waiting because they did not relay the message to the mechanic. Car #2 Needed an oil change and starter replaced. Made an appointment. Told them to CHECK & ADVISE the AC system cause it was not blowing as cool as it should be. Day one car was dropped off when they opened. No call received all day. I called twice that on my own to see how things where going because "It should not take to long." The last call of the day the women behind the counter says "The master tech is working on it right now." then two minutes later she said "he had already gone home." So she lied about him currently working on the vehicle. Day two, end of the day, I have to call in to see what the deal is. These morons have already replaced 2 parts for the AC system that I had said 3 times to "CHECK AND ADVISE" which means to look at it and let me know before you do anything to it not replace parts until it starts working. Moral of the story is Amy is bad at being a service writer or whatever the title is of her job is. The people behind that desk are not good with communication especially with relaying information to the mechanic from the customer. I will never give PEP BOYS business again. If I do ever do decide to go to Pep Boys again it will defiantly not be this one. read more

Apparently there is only one mechanic working here at a time because they always have to schedule me tomorrow or take the entire day to do a job on my car because HE (not THEY) are currently "working on something else".If I didn't feel like they owed me since I hit a 500 dollar brake job done here and am still having problems, I wouldn't ever come back to this retard- breeding s#$! This review is for pep boys! Although there customer service is good and they offer a variety of services ... I would think twice about this place. We took our chevy truck in November to have some maintenance performed. Well we left with a headache! They left the truck in neutral and it rolled off the lift completely folding the driver door on the opposite direction. About 5,500 $ worth of damage !!!!! Do you think corporate has made any faithful attempt to satisfy their debt? NOPE ! So it is now almost FEB and the door is not fixed. We now have to turn it into OUR insurance and pay a 500$ deductible for their "mistake".They tried to send a 2,000$ dollar check to cover what there estimator said would fix the door. Mind you our estimate was from a Chevrolet dealership! I will NEVER do business with pep boys ever again... STAY AWAY!!!!!! read more

Just stopped in on our way to big bear for some off roading. We thought we needed new breaks pass because it was making a loud grinding sound. The quoted Us $160 for parts and labor and told us it would be about 1.5 hours. 10 min later Truman called us and let us know if was a simple fix of something just touching the pads and they sent us on our way with out charging us. I have been a loyal customer at this Pep boys location for over 7 years. Due to my commute, I would have to get oil changes every 2 - 3 weeks. About a year ago I stopped going because the dealership whom I purchased my truck through offered a few free oil changes. I just recently returned to pep boys and management has changed. Victor, the old manager got a promotion at another location. My experience this time fell short. Although the new management was polite and timely it was definitely not the same experience I had in the past with Victor. Normally I would go in and get an oil change and they would rotate and check air pressure in my tires. If they offered any discounts for service they would give it to me even if I did not have the coupon. None of that happened this visit. Victor and his crew took care of the customer. I've been having work continuously done to my vehicle at pep boys and every time they have said they've resolved the issue; however, it's only masked the real issue for the last year of a blown head gasket which was found at the Chevy dealer because at this point it is undrivable and is my only form of transportation for both myself and my two children who I am the soul provider of and only form of transportation to. I have dumped so much money into this vehicle I am at a complete loss and I work paycheck to paycheck. Chevy has told me that the minimum this will cost is $3,600 and as they continue to get into working on it if things look worse it could possibly need a whole engine/motor rebuild and who knows what that will cost, so at this point my hands are thrown up in the air not knowing what to do and wondering if I possibly just need a new vehicle, but I can't afford that either because pep boys masking this issue has been letting coolant dump into my engine for a year! I had my brakes changed there because they had an offer I couldnt pass up.. Unfortunately, I started to hear a rattle like something was loose while I was driving. I took it back to Pep Boys and they said they didn't hear or see anything wrong. Month later is gets worse I took my car into Dinosaur Tires and they found loose bolts from when I got my brakes changed. This took time that I really dont have. This location has very bad customer service and I would not recommend anyone taking their vehicles to this location. My husband has been taking our vehicles to this location for some time now for oil changes and this last visit will be our last. My husband has after market rims on his car and bought new tires, he thought taking the tires to Pep boys for installation was a better option because they would be careful taking off and putting on the new tires. Wow we were wrong. First the young lady that he spoke with on the phone quoted him one price for a oil change and putting the tires on and when we arrived the price changed. We opted to go ahead with the service because we were already there. When we arrived to pick up the vehicle the car was parked conveniently on the side so we could not see the damage to one of the rims. When we got home my husband noticed that one of the rims was missing a center cap and there were huge gouges and scraps on the rim. My husband immediately took the car back and the same young lady that quoted the wrong price tried to tell my husband it was road rash, and proceeded to take pictures with her cell phone and said the manager Steve would be in contact. When the manager Steve called my husband he told him that the damage was from rocks and in no way did his machines do this damage he then stated that the pictures showed rust and that is how he is certain that this was from rocks. When my husband told him that this was not from rocks and that maybe his pictures were not clear he fold him no his pictures were very clear and if he wanted to sue him he would be more than happy to go to court. I cannot believe that this situation was handled so poorly especially in such a small town where word travels so quickly. As a manager of an establishment with such a well known name I would hope they would want people with better customer service running their businesses! read more

Ric, Lindsey, and Erica have always been great to work with as far as management team goes but this last round of service we had the work done by mechanic Andrew who decided he didn't need to clean the grease off his hands before climbing into my wifes car. It took us quite a while and several cleaning wipes to remove all the grease from the steering wheel and the overhead visor. He must have been upset because it was a very hot day or something. Next time before leaving Pep Boys check the interior of your car to make sure their mechanics didn't leave a trail of grease like what we experienced. This kind of stuff should NOT be happening after you have spent a significant amount of money with them or at all for that matter. Mechanics should be wearing gloves and there should be some kind of covers over drivers seat and floor mats. True customer service just seems to have vanished these days. read more
