Well, we have eaten several times at the old location and had no issues. We liked the food. 4-5 stars. At the new location, the young man taking my order at the window was very nice and friendly. However, the meal was incredibly disappointing. I ordered a couple of single patty burgers, large fries, and large onion rings - $40. I wish I had taken pictures. The patties were literally burnt black to the point where it overtook the flavor of the entire burger. The fries were limp, and the onion rings tasted as though the oil in the fat fryer needed changing. Sadly, we did not finish our meals. If I lived closer or ate there, I would have returned the food. I was on a road trip staying in Prescott, made the fin drive 20 minutes to try this place out and WOW, it was worth an hour drive! I got a large tots and holey moley, it's a LOT of TOTS! I should have shared, with four people! I am positive that nobody in the universe serves crunchier TOTS than Pepperjacks! It was awesome but again, it was huge and I planned on having a shake after. With a 20 minute drive back to Prescott, i figured the large shake would be good, why bother reading the menu where it says 24 oz small, and 32 oz large. When she brought it out I was shocked! I almost had to get a cart to get it to the car, it was giant. They have the best fat shake straws to go with it, but the operator better be prepared for the work ahead because this shake was the thickest shake I've ever had and it was my dream shake! so many places add so much milk that you have to drink it fast to feel like a shake, this one lasted the entire ride home and suffered a shortened life in the hotel sink because I was going to explode after 24 ounces! The new location is much nicer than the older one but lacks the wind brakes the prior location had. The new location is better for the employees and the ordering is easier. Little concern for the patrons was given to the eating location, not even a roof over the old picnic tables, High winds made keeping the baskets and napkins on the table challenging. The two burgers one with 1/2 order of onion rings were almost uneatable with the breading that fell off if you took a bite and the two tables spoons of oil in the bottom of the basket at over $40 were less than expected. The food is pretty decent. Burgers are thin, so you definitely need to order a double if you don't want a super thin burger. My biggest issue with this place is the drive-through. They have plenty of space for several cars in line after the window, however, they choose to have one person stop in front of the crosswalk, and one person stay behind the crosswalk instead of having multiple cars in the lane that they have plenty of room for in front of the crosswalk . This results in waiting at least 10 minutes just to get up to the window when you are the next in line because the person that just left the window can't pull out of the way far enough. If they had people pull to the end of the lane, you wouldn't have to wait 10 minutes to order and then another 10 to 15 minutes for your food. I won't be going back simply for that reason. Waiting 10 to 15 minutes for a good burger is acceptable to me. Waiting 10 to 15 minutes just to be able to order the food in a drive-through line you are stuck in is not. read more

There was a steady steam of people- both through the drive through and walk up. We were out of towners trying it but the rest were locals. Pepperjacks did not disappoint! We came off a backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon and were starving but didn't want to eat fast food and we found this on a whim on our drive back to Phoenix. Yum! As a COVID-19 update, Pepper Jack's is open (even though they didn't answer the phone when I called to check). For our first visit we got the #4 and #6 combo. Place is a little food shack with a few picnic tables around. Tables are plenty spread out for social distancing. The burgers were delicious! As good as the more expensive casual joints in town, but for a better price. The atmosphere is really pleasant on a nice day. The fries were outstanding and the ranch is delicious like everyone says - although I wouldn't go so far as to say I would drink it. Their chocolate milkshake was yummy too!
