I heard such good things about this place from multiple people and disappointed at my first interaction. Everything was bizarre to me actually. First bite of Perfect Pizza was when a friend brought a whole one to my place for movie night. Solid pizza no complaints. Because it was good, my boyfriend and I decided to call in a few weeks later for another Pepperoni pizza pick up before we head to our event on 6/24/25 evening. We spoke to a woman on the phone and headed there after a good half an hour. Let me start off, the younger gentleman that greeted us when we came in was friendly and accommodating and probably having to deal with a mistake that wasn't his. He couldn't find our pizza and as this was happening, an older bald gentleman in uniform comes into the store and asks what's going on.. tries to "fix" the situation. He asks "did you speak to a woman or man on the phone?" We told him woman. And it's like he knew exactly who we were talking about. After coming back from the kitchen, he tells us they FORGOT to make it. He said it so matter-of-factly like it's something normal. "So what happened was... they forgot to make it" - verbatim how he said it. It's been over 40 min? How does this happen? No one was really that apologetic except for the younger guy when I told him how I felt at the end. They make the pizza which takes an extra 10 min. He charges us normally as if nothing happened. The girl working comes out of nowhere "are you the one who ordered the sodas?" And we nod and out of nowhere, across the room, the older gentleman cuts her off as she continues and says "SHE WANTS TO KNOW IF YOU WANT THE DRINKS NOW." Weird interaction... We hear "Pizza ready!" So we stand up thinking it's ours. Nope. It was the older bald employee who says "Oh this one's mine! I just came here to deliver it to my daughter" and skips away with his pizza and leaves. Okay... must be nice. Weird once again Finally the pizzas ready, almost an hour after we called. We were now running later than we expected to our plans. Again, no one barely apologized or even tried to win our business back. Everything was handled so matter-of-factly, I couldn't believe this was the place people have raving about. The younger gentleman did apologize when confronted and he said they'll do better next time. He was probably the only positive about this interaction. The pizza was good of course. But this whole thing was annoying. You have an "ALWAYS READY" sign right on top but it's not even true!! read more

So normally I'd give this place 5* I love their breadsticks, was getting them 1-3 times weekly. But lately, I feel like they've changed? Overly chewy, kind of a weird taste.. almost fishy? Tried out perfect pizza for the first time this evening. I've had pizza in New York and great pizza in LA and Vegas, but I would have to say that this is my new favorite spot in San Diego. The pizza was fresh, had great quality ingredients, and amazing service. You can tell this is a small family owned business based on their attention to detail. This place is a 2 hour drive from where I live, but I'd definitely come here all the time if I'm ever in the area. This is definitely one of our weekly places to grab lunch/dinner. I swear I do cook....well sometimes! Anyhow, pizza is great, staff is amazing, place is always clean and honestly you can not beat their prices. We usually grab a pepperoni pizza and the pep cheesy bread. Both equally delicious! For the pizza, the ratio of cheese and pepperoni to sauce is perfect! Plus, the crust is always soft. Bonus points, it reheats really well when we have left overs. We were in the Rancho Bernardo area and decided to stop by Perfect Pizza to grab a pizza to-go. - PARKING - Small lot but it wasn't very busy, so plenty of spaces were open. - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - We ordered online, and the user interface was very easy to use. I do wish they sent a tracker or at least a confirmation of pick-up time as I only got the estimate when I initially was ordering. I only assumed my pizza was done after the estimated time to cook was done. There's no seating here, just a grab and go type of storefront. Staff came out quickly and just confirmed my name and order, and handed me the pizza along with parmesan and red chili flakes. - FOOD - Supreme (L - $18.99): I miss Costco's combo pizza, so when I saw Perfect Pizza had basically the combo's toppings in their Supreme, I was sold. I really want to like this place. My first time there, I had to wait a very long time for my pizza. I ordered the regular pepperoni pizza and a deep dish with light cheese. The deep dish came with the regular amount of cheese but I had waited so long, I didn't want to wait for another one. Fast forward to last week. When I got there, the pizzas were done but once again, it seems that they made both pizzas with the regular amount of cheese. The 3-meat pizza crust was fluffy and well seasoned. I loved the sausage they used because it had fennel seeds which gave it a nice added flavor. Bacon and pepperoni were crispy and cooked well. I wouldn't doubt that their other pizzas are just as good. They have large round pizzas, deep dish, and stuffed crust. Everytime I phone in an order I am able to pick it up within 15-20 minutes. What I LOVE MOST about this pizza place is that they offer Vegan choices!!! Yes, that's correct. Their pizza dough is vegan and they have vegan cheese and vegan meat. My go to order is a large Veggie Pizza with vegan cheese and vegan meat with an order of vegan cheese bread on the side. AND LORD is it so good! You can't really taste a difference. The pizza is delicious and the portions are great! Best of all, the service is amazing and the people are so sweet and accommodating. Very good vegan pizza, note that it's not all vegan but they do have some vegan options like vegan cheese. The first time we came we got the vegan pizza and it was great, the other times we just substitute the cheese for vegan cheese for the kids since they don't care for the veggies here. The crust is yummy and sauce is good, I haven't tried the other pizzas here but I'm pretty sure it's good as well. The pizza here is a good enough effort, but to me it didn't impress. I purchased a thin crust, supreme, with extra cheese. The crust was ok with a slight crunch with a rather benign sauce. The veggies consisted of some fresh items and what appears to be canned items. First time seeing that. Finally, the extra cheese I received was quite modest. Not sure what the pie would be with just regular cheese. Maybe their dish pizza rounds out a little better. It seems to be what the majority of Yelp reviews focus on. It's a toss between 3 or 4 stars. We got thin crust Supreme, thin crust cheese/mushroom/bacon, deep dish Hawaii , bread sticks. The thin crusts are delish, perfectly cooked, you could taste the freshness of the veggies. Perfectly even. Deep dish was not cooked well, parts were still raw dough. The toppings were really good, but the cooking of the dough needs work. Breadsticks remind me of little Ceasar crazy bread, light, airy, tasty. Would have been better if there was a dipping marina. Today was one of those summer sunny Sundays - during the Covid crazy - where this mama bear was just not going back into the kitchen to prepare dinner. Decided to give Perfect Pizza a try since they seemed to be growing in popularity.. and the reviews seemed pretty favorable. Yelp made it easy to order and pick up at a time of preference. We opted for the deep dish pizza (+$3 for the deep dish) and the Hawaiian (+$2 for the Parmesan butter crust).. About $15 a pizza which is fair and competitive to the other pizza joints in the area. You could also go with their "Make it Ultimate" option -- which doubles the cheese and the toppings. We'll have to try that next time. It's located in the first shopping plaza to your right as you exit the freeway to hit Bernardo Center Drive. As you enter the plaza (which has sadly become desolate during this covid crisis), you head left where the Little Caesar's used to be. They have temporary signage up on the face of the building.. but it's easy to find. They have a very humble presence -- nice menu board.. no tables in compliance with the covid regulations.. and everyone was properly wearing a mask. When I arrived, the deep dish took another 5 minutes but the wait was bearable and worth it to have the pizza came out hot and fresh. They do have a pizza warmer if the pizza is done prior to your arrival, and they do offer local delivery (found them on grub hub too!). Headed home to noms. It smelled delicious...... and tasted even better. The deep dish was perfect. Crunchy and good fluffy crust without being underdone. They pizzas actually looked pretty.. as if someone took the time to place the toppings uniformly and nicely.. not just scatter them all over the place (literally, the pineapples and ham and pepperoni were placed almost equally spaced). On the supreme, I loved the amount of peppers, onion, olives, mushrooms (canned-- but I don't mind), pepperoni, and sausage.. great flavor and highly worth the deep dish upgrade. The hawaiian was also not too bad. The kiddos loved the extra cheesey crust and the very smokey ham with sweet pineapples. The ham really made the Hawaiian stand out from other ones we've had in the area.. thick and smokey and plentiful across the face of the pizza. Between the two, the deep dish supreme was the winner and we'll definitely be ordering this on the regular. They have other interesting menu items that we'll have to try the next time around. The cheesey sticks are supposed to be like the deep dish pizza with various cheeses.. they also have something called the perfect bread which sounds interesting (an herbed cheese garlic type bread?). They were very kind on the phone and nice in person. Called back and confirmed this is a family-owned establishment which automatically gets a plus in my book. :) I'd give the pizza a 4/4.5 and round up to 5 for being family owned. Was getting sick of eating at the mainstream Pizza Hut and Dominos and wanted to try a more "local" place for pizza and the reviews for this place seemed decent so decided to give it a try. Unfortunately I did not enjoy the pizza here, it literally tasted like I was served a frozen pizza that I could get at your typical grocery store.
