I don't think I've ever had a bad meal at Perkins and this location is no different. I had the pot-roast my wife had the turkey (Thanksgiving type) dinner. We had a great waiter he apologized numerous times because it took about 25 minutes to get served, but hey this isn't NY people in other states enjoy s i t t i n g a n d t a l k i n g a n d e a t i n g a t a s l o w r e l a x i n g p a c e. Weird. We finished with a delicious strawberry Cheesecake and raspberry muffin. My only complaint was a party of 7 on the other side of a glass partition who allowed their 2 year old smear butter all over the glass, It never ceases to amaze me how many "children raise their parents". read more

We ordered the skillet breakfast. I ordered mine with sunny side up eggs. It came out overcooked, which they replaced with badly undercooked eggs. Server and manager were pleasant and professional. Someone just needs to learn how to cook eggs properly. read more

I give 4 star mainly for staff, customer service and the bakery. Don't get me wrong though, I am not dissing their food. The food is delicious, it's just your standard run of the mill dining experience similar to Dennys or Kings. All American dining for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Staff is on point with checking on you mayber even a little too much. Everyone is always so friendly and inviting. Their bakery shines very high in my opinion. Quality bakery goods including pies, muffins, cookies, and a few other options. Sometimes when visiting I go for breakfast or lunch and on my way out get a muffin for breakfast the next day. Their "mammoth" muffins is what they call them are quite big and can easily be fitting for a lighter meal. Wow, I had no idea this was a near national chain as New England is one of the only areas of the country that doesn't have them. The 6 am to midnight hours were great as I was staying right beside it in the Days Inn and would do anything to avoid disgusting continental breakfasts. A stuffed buffalo chicken wrap with sides and two enormous muffins for $10 was awesome and really good quality for a chain. I wish we had a few in New England. Wife had the buffalo chicken strips appetizer for her meal, and it was four decent sized pieces. She also had the New England Clam Chowder that I sampled and it was very creamy and tasty. I had the lemon-pepper tilapia and it was a bit overdone. If you are a senior ask for something from the senior menu...someone at the next table asked what was the difference between the senior menu and the regular menu items and the waitress said "none" [ex. price], when quite often it's a smaller portion of the same meal(s). The baked potato I had was huge. I think they finished it off in the micro to get it out timely to me because the waitress did say they were "finishing it up." The asparagus was wrinkly making me think it may have been overcooked frozen. Other chains offer better value and selection. read more

It's a cold, snowy day in Gettysburg. Staying in the super 8 next door, we decided to head over to Perkins. I've been to a few Perkins before so I knew what to expect. Perkins is a cross between Applebee's and bob Evans. They kinda have some country meals but you can still get a burger or some tenders. I'm very impressed how they are keeping the walk ways and lot cleared as best as possible in a snow storm. We were seated as soon as we walked in. Waitress was prompt to offer drinks. I had a delicious turkey and mash potatoes. Food came quickly and was worth the affordable prices. They have a list of nice deserts. Took a brownie home with us and was thanked for our business as we exited. I was overall happy with the entire experience. However, there was one small issue. The bathroom smelled like death. Someone must have ate a combination on chili and tacos and then decided to take it out on the Perkins bathroom. No fans were running and there were no sprays. It was hard to think about my meal after I smelled a rotting man prostate. But hey, this location is a good place to eat. read more

Took a long time to get seated. We ended up splitting our party of 9 into 3 tables. Drink service took a while. Rest of food was delivered more quickly. Everything was prepared as ordered, including my RARE patty melt. One of our party had a spinach salad, so much spinach that it still looked like a full bowl after she had eaten lots. Ok. So this is THE ONLY restaurant that I know of that stay open during the Blizzard of 2016. The employees stayed over night at one of the local hotels to keep this place open. We came here the following day after we ate at the 1863 restaurant at the Wyndham where we stayed for 1 week. This place is a typical Perkins, we've only eaten at a few when traveling. There are no cloth napkins, table cloths or flowers on the table like the 1863. The food and service were EXCELLENT, we got water w/o asking everything was hot, inexpensive and the service was great!!! 2 thumbs up and recommended! read more

My wife and I took our 16 month old here tonight and the costumer service was excellent! Our son has a severe peanut allergy and all of the staff were very accommodating to us. The manager, Michael Ferguson, exceeded our expectations by going above and beyond in easing our fears of cross contamination. I believe that we may have found our new weekend breakfast-dinner spot! Terrible! In an almost empty restaurant on a Saturday night the table wasn't cleaned until after we were seated and our meal took way too long to come out. The Mac and cheese and rice medley had the consistency of reheated leftovers. The fries were nothing special. Salmon was dry and couldn't taste the seasoning. The iced tea and salad were good. Service was friendly and quick. To top things off the bathroom locks don't work and there were many areas in need of repair. Even the comment box was broken. read more

We were looking for a place in Gettysburg to get breakfast -- there's not many choices so we ended up here. They don't have outdoor dining (our preferred dining option) so we placed an order to go. I went through the entire process of placing an online order for the website to say at the end that they're not accepting online orders. Therefore I called to place an order to go. I was very specific with what we wanted as there were a few substitutions. The waitress did not read my order back, which I should've asked her to do so there weren't mistakes. Needless to say, we got our food and not much was correct -- even the item that we didn't change didn't match the menu description. The food was mediocre, not terrible but definitely not spectacular. We were passing through so we personally won't be going again but if you're considering this, just know to check your order and don't expect your food to be bursting with flavor. read more

We feel that the attention was lacking and the food was haphazardly prepared. I had the spinach omelette and my wife had the BBQ chicken (cold bread, dry chicken). What you'd expect. Food was fine, the chirizo is a little different, wouldn't recommend it but edible. The kitchen is a little loud, as was the waitress who sat with a regular and talked loud enough we all knew how her weekend was. While standing there a lady came to the hostess and said they had been sitting for quite some time and noone had come to give them water or any service. We were staying in the Days Inn next door and without alot of breakfast choices.... place is a definite dump; but the food is still good. First trip had Southern chicken gravy biscuits and peach waffles. Next time regular waffle, eggs, and muffin; and BBQ roasted chick. Sub with a salad. Food rocks. Our server Susesanne rocked. Cody the stoner needs fired. When we arrived the line to.pay and the line to sit both were 3 deep. Cody came back in from what I assume was hitting a pipe. He stuggled to.cash people out and seat us. As we arrived at our table he told us our server would be awhile as she was busy. We waited as he stared out from the podium contemplating double rainbows. The manager finally came by and got us drinks. Susanne took excellent care of us and saved the day. She even got me the silverware that the stoner forgot. Convenient location just off downtown Gettysburg. Friendly service, potato pancakes we remade for me without onions with fresh batter and hasbrowns topped with strawberries, those were the best out of the whole breakast order, the sausage patty was greasy and lukewarm, the egg beaters were also lukewarm and were rubbery. They honored both of our coupons too. The chicken fried steak dinner was warm and not so fresh, the fries were hot and fresh. Since they probably have few repeat customers I doubt they care about customer service. I came here because I had a soccer tournament in Gettysburg. They have a delicious chicken,bacon and pepper jack cheese sandwich that I will get ever time I come back for the tournament.
