My boyfriend and I had a lovely Sunday brunch experience! We arrived around 11:30 a.m. and were quickly seated. Immediately we noticed the gorgeous decor, and as an event planner, I took note of their private dining room and balconies that would make great options for special events. We ordered the chilaquiles (with an added side of steak) and the three-meat omelet and were very pleasantly surprised to learn that they came with complimentary BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS (and fruit for dessert afterward). My boyfriend is an enthusiastic eater so he appreciated the large portions, while I am a picky eater and liked that my chilaquiles came "deconstructed". The staff was very friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. Live entertainment began at noon (again, to our pleasant surprise), so our meal ended up being brunch and a show! I've eaten once in the dining room for dinner and twice in the bar restaurant for happy hour. The service, food, and drinks are all impressive. However, I wish happy hour could be enjoyed in the dining room. The bar is too loud for my aging ears. The seafood pasta was good, the portions looks small, but it does fill you up quickly. It was a bit greasy. The oyster look beautiful, not only beautiful, but they were very clean. Front the entrance you are greeted with a genuine smile. The server Edgar was on it 1000%!!! And you can tell the whole staff communication is cohesive because we asked one other waiter for something, and Edgar shows up for us. When we walked in, I almost felt a little under dressed...the restaurant is nice and the atmosphere calls for a steak house vibe (live music -- contemporary/Latin?). Still, the staff paid no attention and were extremely attentive (turns out others were also dressed casual). We ordered the margarita flight to give us a small taste of the drink menu and we loved the cucumber margarita the best, although on any given day I could have enjoyed any of these (mango, strawberry, & hibiscus)! I followed the flight with a "Gem" which has passion fruit and kiwi....again sooo good! If I could have kept going, I would have. We had oysters as appetizers and they were clean, cold, and fresh; tasted exactly like a good oyster should! For dinner, I HIGHLY recommend the 'Camarón Zarandeado' I'm sure I spelled that wrong, but you'll see it on the menu. It's a generous amount of big grilled butterflied prawns with a chili oil on the side that is so spicy you'll need to take it easy on the dipping (to be fair, the waitress warned me). The dinners come with delicious sides. My kids enjoyed the calamari, tacos gobernador, and my husband enjoyed a seafood cocktail. Recommended by a family friend, our party of five arrived around 7pm. The place had private booths for parties of 1-4 lining the walls. Larger tables for 6 were in the middle. A live band was on stage getting ready to play. Soon live music flooded the place. It was festive and fun but if you were hoping to have lively conversation, be prepared to shout a little. It came with a delicious salsa verde and a mild red salsa. Get the salsa verde! For the main course, we ordered shrimp & fish tacos, New York steak, & fajitas. It came with mash potatoes and a variety of lightly seasoned vegetables (which I greatly appreciated). With the appetizers, sharing the steak plate was a perfect portion for two. Everyone else enjoyed their food and was very full. We even left with leftovers. The server knew we had birthday but unfortunately tried to stealthy find out who by whispering to the birthday boy. He apologized when he realized he ruined his own surprise by asking the wrong person. For the birthday boy, we got ice cream on churros. Warm and crispy, it was the perfect finish to the meal. The live band played for about a hour before taking a fifteen minute break. During that time they just played music over the speakers. Live music resumed after their break. What an awful experience!!! We went for the New Year pre set menu and let me say I really wanted to like what was offered. The presentation was pretty and elegant- but that was it!! 1.We were seated and no one came to offer us at least some water for 25 min. We had to walk to the bar to get a drink. (That was a mistake! Bar tab was all wrong) 2. When we finally got a server (he was nice but overwhelmed) the food was bland. 3. Then our friend got the bill and all hell broke loose.... the bill was incorrect but instead of taking it and correcting they proceeded to argue with our friend. The bill amount was changed 3 times! and to top it off the manager, server, & bartender proceeded to be extremely rude to us for questioning the bill. We were shocked and confused on why the amount changed 3x. Then the bartender tells her man - that didn't work there and was DRINK, that we were rude to her and he comes over to fist fight my GIRLFRIEND!! He Got in her face and screamed F bombs!! This place looks classy but unfortunately the looks are deceiving. These places tend to overcharge ppl in the hopes that you'll be to embarrassed to question it because of the so called ambiance. Came here on an unassuming Wednesday evening for a girl's night out with a bestie and everything was absolutely scrumptious!! We loved the La Perla and Raspberry Tini because it was refreshing and not overly sweet. The Shrimp Ceviche was fresh with a bomb spicy green sauce on the side, and Oysters Rockefeller were some of the best I've had. Our main course was the Salmon Costaneda and it was cooked to perfection! All the decor was super fancy so I thought it was way outta my price range but the menu was so reasonable. Above all else, Edgar and the staff are the reason we'll come back as they were all super attentive and intuitive to our needs and was friendly and respectful. We rented the private room on the side to celebrate a special birthday, and everything was great. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the entertainment was really fun. We had our event on a Saturday night, which is when they have their imitadores show. Our birthday girl got Happy Birthday from the Selena impersonator, and then the Mananitas from Lupillo Rivera. The show just made the event much more festive. Edgar, the manager there, was also very helpful through the whole thing. He answered all my questions leading up to our big night, helped set-up additional table when we all got there, allowed us to come in early to decorate, and hold and serve the birthday cake.
