I wanted to do business with them, but they required I send them a check by mail or set up ACH payment because my first order as a new customer was over $200. Therefore they would not take my payment via Credit card for my first order?? I couldn't believe this, they first told be it was my bank not allowing the charge, called my bank and the charge had been approved as any of my other credit card charges had been approved. I called Pet edge back to confirm the charge had been approved as it should be, yet still the answer was NO we won't ship you your item because our policy requires you to pay for your first order with a check or ACH. I guess they don't want my business and I hope you don't give them yours either. I don't even know where to start... from shipping to costumer service my first and last experience with this company has been a nightmare. My order took a week to even ship with it was promised to arrive within a week. After many phone calls and just being told it would ship that day and it didn't I asked them to ship and expedite my order or cancel it because I needed it to come or I needed to place an order elsewhere. They said they would take care of it that day. Later I got an email saying it was shipped and called to confirm the arrival. They didn't expedite it like they said so I asked them to cancel and refund me because their estimated arrival was too late. After fighting with them on the phone because they said it was too late to cancel even tho they had not received the tracking they said they would refund and reroute the order. Two days later I got the order anyway. I called to let them know and opted to keep it since it was before their estimated time. They said they would bill me for it again. ​​​I had no problems with that but the next day when they went to charge it wouldn't go through. I think my bank had flagged it because of the order, refund, and then them trying to place the order again on the same card. We'll immediately after it didn't go through I start getting emails, calls, voice-mail, and they even went as far as contacting my employer saying that I order from them and didn't pay them and that my employer would get the bill. They called both me and my employer multiple times over the course of just a few hours demanding payment.. keep in mind this was midweek day on a Thurday.. I could check my messages, answer, or even address this until after I got off work. Finally my employer gives me the phone because PetEdge wouldn't stop calling. Over the phone I get multiple threats that if they don't have payment by end of day my employer would get sent the bill... I was baffled.. I was being treated like I was trying to steal from them when I informed them of the air and told them I needed to pay.. I told them on the phone I was happy to pay buy I couldn't at the moment because I was at work.. they continued to threaten me. I had to hang up and call back later because the lady on the phone wouldn't stop demanding payment and threatening me. Never again will I order from this company. Their customer service sucks. Issue after issue and it's their fault. Then they threaten and harass you. ​​They wouldn't of even known of the problem unless I called. If I could give negative stars I would. read more

I love this place! Too bad there isn't a Petedge where I live, so whenever I pay a visit to Reno, I make sure to stop by to pick up some stuff for my dogs. If you have their catalog (they usually mail one to me every now and then) or just go to their website and pick out the items that you want and just call in to order it. That way, you can just schedule a good time to come pick them up without having to wait, which would save you a lot of time. Their end of the season clearance sale is pretty awesome too. I have bought some cute outfits and toys here for under a dollar and some treats and supplies at a really great price. In general, some of the stuff here is even cheaper than it is on Amazon! Petedge is great, except for two things: 1.) THEIR HOURS: Their hours are such an inconvenience, especially for those working full-time, Monday through Friday from 8-5. Because Petedge is open only on weekdays only from 8:30 to 5:00 and Wednesday, 8:30 to 7:00. 2.) THEIR EXPIRATION DATE. Make sure you check the expiration date when you buy the treats in the clearance section or make it a habit and just check it. Sometimes, they sell like treats in a bulk for such a cheap price, but if you look at the expiration date, it expires in a very short time period. Sometimes, there is no point in buying treats in bulk if it expires the next month unless you have a ton of dogs. read more

Pet Edge used to be a pet lover's best kept secret in the #BiggestLittleCity, but that's not the case anymore. For those unaware, Pet Edge is a large national online retailer of pet products based right here in Reno. They sell everything from crates to chew toys, to beds and everything in between. At their facility in Reno, you could go right in the storefront and purchase anything from their catalog, warehouse direct. But all that has changed now as of my last visit. I don't know why they made the switch, but orders can only be placed online now, with no option for in store pick up or ordering. I find pet products to be a category that's difficult to purchase online because you don't know if it's going to be the right size, your pet may not like it, it may be poor quality when you receive it, along with all the other normal reasons shopping online is difficult. I also find that big box stores typically charge an arm and a leg for what are truly disposable goods, capitalizing on the "fur baby" syndrome. While I love my dog and want him to be comfortable, I recognize the reality that inevitably he's going to destroy whatever I give him. So I try and find the most value oriented solutions, and I've never found that at a big box store. My go-to was Pet Edge, and now with that option gone, I'm going to have to either try their online ordering or just go to the default for all things online, Amazon. I'll keep you posted! read more

WOW! What a great place for pet toys! My husband and I recently became the happy owners of a Rottweiler puppy, and she has proven to be more like a pirana than a dog when it comes to her toys. She shredded some "high end" toys I got at PetCo and I was getting tired of dropping $9+ per doll, when my co-worker told me about this place. The toys here are well made, cute, and incredibly cheap. I bout 4 dolls for my pup and it only cost me $7.50. I would have paid that amount for one toy at PetCo. There is a huge selection of leshes, collars, raw hide bones, food dishes and more here as well. Whats more, they have a website with tons of great products, (like the seat gaurd for your car) which you can order online and then pick up in store. I wish I'd found this place sooner, I'll be coming here for all my puppy's toys from now on. read more

After many, many years of purchasing supplies from Petedge I had to do my first return and learned that, contrary to their claim, customer service is not Petedge's top priority. In reality it is not much of a priority at all. Purchased crate beds for rescue dogs only to find out Petedge's item descriptions were grossly inaccurate. When I tried to return the items, Petedge refused to pay for return shipping or shipping on replacement items. Customer service claimed, post-order, that measurements on crate beds have a variance of up to 4 inches ("...2 inches in either direction..."). Basically, they're saying if you order a 11.75" crate bed you may get a 9.75" bed or a 13.75" bed. It's a total crapshoot, good luck sucker! This claim was made despite that fact that Petedge, pre-order, gives very detailed descriptions and measurements to within 1/4 of an inch and does not, anywhere in the product description or anywhere on the website or catalogs, over the phone, or in person, mention gross variances in actual sizes. She whined that Petedge is not responsible for the descriptions that they receive from vendors (despite the fact that Petedge chooses to place these descriptions on their website and in catalogs and provide them verbally) The whole point is, Petedge indisputably made a mistake and refused to take responsibility for it. They would rather screw over and nickel and dime long-time, low-budgeted dog rescues than own up to their mistake and honor their B.S., "At PetEdge, customer satisfaction is our top priority" claim. To add insult to injury, the snotty customer service rep argued that their primary customers are retail stores that purchase $30,000 a month in supplies, not small-time buyers. Translation--"unless you spend tens of thousands of dollars a month with us, we don't give a rat's ass about you". Squat dab in the middle of an industrial complex, Pet Edge is an online / catalog one-stop shop for pet owners and those in the pet industry (groomers, veterinarians, etc.). You can order and then pick stuff up here, saving yourself shipping costs. Or you can wander in the warehouse area where they have a sectioned off clearance area that has everything from pet clothes, cheap cheap cheap toys, and some rawhide goodies. They have some items that are returned due to some sort of damage i.e. a missing pole, a chewed up spot here and there, that are discounted. Man, if you need doggie poop bags, here's where you buy them! Other bargains I saw: a contraption for throwing tennis balls for your dog for just $2. Today I didn't buy anything, but I'm on the hunt for a portable crate for my little monster so I may be back. read more

Pet Edge carries dog and cat items from general supplies, grooming, training, toys, treats, etc. They do offer a small showroom with a nice selection of items they stock. Pick up a catalog or visit the website to decide what you want, call or fax your order and stop by to pick it up. Pretty simple. Be forewarned, there is a $6.99 minimum order charge for purchases less than $60. I always have a friend or two who want to order small items, so it's been easy to meet the minimum order. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable and will help you pick out the best option for your pets. You can also order online/over the phone and pick your order up in the store. I have yet to try this option, but it may be something I'll consider in the near future. The fact that I have this option available to me is nice. The only disadvantage is that they're only open on weekdays. Though that's not enough to keep me from visiting regularly. My pets are beyond spoiled thanks to PetEdge. read more

BEST deals on pet merchandise I've ever seen! Bought myself two dog crates here and probably saved myself close to $60 if I were to shop at Walmart, Petsmart, or Petco. The place isn't all colorful looking like Petsmart or Petco, but they have nearly everything you need at extremely low prices. Okay, prices are awesome. Almost can't be beat. Though, occasionally I find something on JeffersPet or Amazon at a better price. Quality is so-so. If you're getting a brand name like Chuck It or Kong, you're good. But their off brand stuff is pretty cheap-o. Selection...could be better. They're really geared towards groomers, but now show dog folks? Really? The selection of decent show equipment is...meh. Otherwise, it's great. We load up on tons of toys, check the clerance section for big doggie safe chews, and get our crates, x-pens, puppy pens, etc here. Love that! read more

I love Petedge. I have only gone into their store front/warehouse location once while my company had us in Reno for training, but it was a good experience. I order from their catalog regularly and have never had a bad experience. The lady up front was very helpful and even showed the secret stash of shears that had been returned and were discounted. I got a BEAUTIFUL pair of Buttercuts (curves and straights) for $50 and they are normally in excess of $200. Sure I didn't NEED them, but it was too good to pass up. The bargain room is fun and I love that they have TONS of unique stuff to try out, the prices aren't astronomical, so if the pup hates the new treats, it isn't a total bust. Catalog ordering is easy too, and the shipping is quick. I get my orders within 3 days of ordering without having to pay extra for quick shipping. read more

I have been a loyal PetEdge customer for years. But last month I had to cancel an order of several thousand dollars due to roof damage at my shop. Initially customer service was great and told me to just refuse the shipment and it would go back to them for a full refund. Easy peasy. Instead they refunded all of the small items (I.e. cheap items) but have refused to issue my refund of approximately $1800 for larger equipment. Even though tracking numbers clearly show they have received the packages back. I have also sent multiple emails to support@petedge.com and have not received a single response. I've called numerous times only to be told I they will look into it and call me back... then they don't. James at customer service has been the only person to make any effort to resolve this but it seems his hands are tied. I am now forced to file a dispute with my credit card in hopes of getting my money back. Unfortunately this experience has very much soured my opinion on PetEdge. read more

Absolute terrible customer service, with an attitude! Bought a pair of thinning shears, weren't cheap either, when I received them, the item was wrong. Called customer service and was told that I had to pay for shipping back. I told them they sent the wrong item and her attitude was, " well it's still a usable product so we are not paying" Not usable to me though! I then got a supervisor who actually wound up being even nastier than the first person. I will never use them again after all these years, even when they were still New England Serum! I love this place. Great prices and merchandise. The reason why I did not give them five stars is because of their new system for processing refunds. Fortunately I live close to the warehouse so if I need a refund or have a problem with my order I can stop by. So you can't just exchange one item for another, they have to return the original item and then re-ring you up for the new one. It is quite a hassle and is very time consuming. I was pretty disappointed. The prices in the catalog are not going to match what you are going to see on your invoice. That is because they admittedly add an extra fee, spreading it out over whatever products you ordered. One of the items I ordered didn't come and wasn't on the invoice. When I called to ask what happened, the customer service person - if you could call her that - told me that it was out of stock and someone should have told me. I asked if I was just supposed to find that out on my own. They don't mention it on the shipping inserts, or give you a call, or even let you know when you were ordering. It just doesn't come and isn't on the invoice. I will never deal with them again. What was I thinking in the first place? Amazon is right there. We have two large Newfoundland dogs and buy their grooming supplies at the Pet Edge Reno location. When it comes to big dogs with heavy coats a small bottle of grooming product just isn't going to go far and we like the idea we can buy the gallon size containers and not have to pay expensive shipping for these purchases. I would like to also say that the service we have received has been excellent. It is nothing such as described in one of the reviews on this site. The employees that work there have always treated us like first rate customers even though our business does not even come close to the business I'm sure they get from the local grooming shops. We consider ourselves very lucky that we have a Pet Edge distribution warehouse within driving distance of us and that we can pay wholesale prices. So my husband, dogs, and I all would all like to say that we really appreciate both Pet Edge and their employees. read more

How cool having a national pet catalog company with one of their west coast distribution centers in our backyard located next to the airport off Longley Lane. They have a section of their warehouse open M-F as a retail store selling discounted items you would easily pay triple for at a Pet Smart or box chain store. If you don't see something on their shelves, or bins, you can cruise through their massive catalog and they will gladly pull it from the back warehouse within a few minutes. They have happy return policy, real flexible if something doesn't fit or if your pooch tore up a new toy, they gladly refund-replace-exchange. Check them out online, you can also sign up for their catalog to spoil your cat or dog. Once you've visited, you'll never step foot into a store paying retail prices. read more

I have ordered from Petedge for my grooming business for about 8 years. When you order anywhere from 500 to 1,000.00 a MONTH, YOU THINK THEY WOULD GIVE A CRAP to keep you HAPPY!! But no!! ! I have always received my orders in 4 days, the last few, 9 days, 12 days, then with the change of "systems" over 2 weeks. some groomers it took over a month!!! They have screwed up my last few orders so bad, I have waited on the phone for well over 30 minutes and have to hang up because I have customers walking in and a business to run!! The once i got to talk to someone they promised an email that day, and a return phone call. over a month later, no email, no phone call. They charged me for items I haven't recieved. Sent me the wrong item, and won't give me a return authorization number. Now for the last few months they have been randomly charging my CC when I would never do business with them again, i would go out of business if they were my only option, before I ever give them another dime!!! So them charging me for nothing is forcing me to open up a claim against them with my CC company. I work way to hard for my money for them to screw me over and just take money on my CC because they feel like getting extra that day!! Most of the groomers I know will never EVER do business with them again, and I know ALOT of groomers!! read more

This WAS my absolutely, hand's down, without a doubt, my FAVORITE place to go to get goodies to spoil my 4 dogs but they no longer have their public store front!!!! I AM SO BUMMED!!! My dogs regularly destroy their toys and, since I need 4 at a time, spending $10 or more each is not an option. Every time I would go, I would take a cart and grab whatever struck my fancy. I would also go through during the holidays and load up my cart with dog and cat toys and treats to donate to my local humane society. AMAZING! Customer service was helpful and approachable. My package was quoted in arriving within a week (purchased online), it arrived the next day. I had to exchange an item, It was easy (just got off the phone). I hope this package arrives within 24 hours. We'll see. I purchased the ZW307 Guardian Gear Elevated Pet Cots - so far my little furry family loves them. The only thing was assembling the larger cot - it fits so exact that the instructions MUST be followed accordingly. My favorite thing about the cots is the easy to clean under and around the beds (I love the 7" lift). Haven't cleaned the beds yet but shouldn't be a problem. read more

Have been on the phone twice for over 25mins on hold trying to get a return number for a Pet Edge product that we purchased. As soon as we get a customer service person and we tell them we have a return we end up in the "wait them out cue". I call it a rope-a-dope tactic used by many businesses that don't won't you to return any thing. If they wait you out long enough then maybe you will hang up and keep a product you don't want. We need to quit being sheep and not take this crap from businesses. In a few minutes you can be heard on several sites; Yelp, Angies list, BBB, and even your State Attorney General.
