ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR TO MY DOG/INCONSISTENT CARE/DOES NOT FOLLOW DIRECTIONS
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Tega with Pet Envy. There is a host of reasons as to why I feel this way, but I will focus on the main ones. All of my dogs are small (shih-tzus). I had 6, one passed away in July from old age...so she got a LOT of business from me in one stop. I know I've used her for at least the last 4 years...probably longer. My littlest fur baby and most fragile of my dogs, is Boo. He is 8 lbs and suffers from a degenerative muscular disease. I have had several conversations with her about his condition, and how I would like him to be groomed and handled. I told her it didn't matter in what order she did the other dogs BUT Boo either needed to be done first, or last. The reason I asked this of her is because he CANNOT sit in a cold sink, shivering until she gets done with her "current" dog. He is too weak to grip with his paws, he can hardly stand as it is to potty. He scoots around on his little forearms at home he is so weak. First of all, I take issue with ALL groomers who feel the need to "stack" dogs uncomfortably in their mobile truck to save them a few measly minutes to walk to and from the door. That's nothing but GREED and laziness. At our house we can't make it any easier for Tega as we bring the dogs out to her while picking up whoever is ready. Although I NEVER have liked my dogs piled in a van like that, I let the healthier ones slide - but NOT BOO and SHE KNOWS THIS. Leaving a dog, much less and older fragile dog, sitting in a cold steel sink to save you minutes off your day is certainly not indicative of putting an animal under your care FIRST, when it comes to comfort. So today....despite my conversations about Boo, I get home from an appt a little early and as I started to walk past her van, I paused to take a look at who she had. I was absolutely livid with her after I observed how she was treating Boo, and seeing my other fragile dog who has a spinal injury sitting wet in a cold steel sink. Meanwhile, Boo is getting tossed and jostled around like a rag dog!!!! She was not being gentle as she dragged the shaver across his little body whatsoever. She was very rough with him, uncaring, no warm and fuzzy talking - NOTHING! She was borderline MEAN and I'm confident that had anyone else witnessed the same, they would agree. What I saw today now explains why all of my dogs are coming back with razor burns and cuts all over their body. She went hard and fast on Boo's tiny little body, and it broke my heart for him. To be honest, I'm shocked at her demeanor towards Boo as she comes across as a very nice person...but clearly, it is about the money with her and not the welfare and comfort of my fur family under her blade. I would also like to note her services are not consistent. I have had dogs come in with 1/2 of their paws trimmed or one ear cleaned out. Their anal glands are not getting expressed regularly either even though this is supposed to be a routine service. Don't get me started on the story about the day she was supposed to be at my house at 10...for me to finally text her close to 11:00 to find out where she was....for her to tell me she'll get to me about noon....waited til 12:50 and texted her telling her is was too late to get started at this point because I had to a 4:00 dr apt.. Keep in mind she was supposed to arrive by 10-10:30, and be done by 3:00. I never got a response back from her acknowledging my text that it was too late. Instead she pulls in my driveway 15 minutes later as if she was going to do my dogs anyway, saying she could get them all done by 3:00!!! WHAT???!! That's just crazy. I told her flat out that there was no way she could do my dogs in that little amount of time and that the appointment needs to be canceled, period! SHE gets belligerent with ME about me canceling, when SHE is the one who was chronically late. I should have cut my losses then. She doesn't bother to keep notes or anything about special circumstances with each of her clients. I constantly have to remind her what/what not to do or who to text when she gets here. She also comes with distractions...like today it looks like she had a small boy sitting in her passenger seat. I get it. We all have to do what we have to do sometimes butTega, I'm ashamed at what I saw today. You have NO justifiable reason as to why you were handling Boo with such lack of care. Good luck. read more
