Although they seem to like animals and mean well, they can be insulting. There is a superiority complex that is unwelcoming. I have experienced this on most occasions I have stopped in for food etc. They actually insulted my dog this last time...saying she was fat and I should only give her grain free food..not the food I was asking for (that they didn't carry). My dog may not be skinny, but she is definitely not fat and even if she was...why insult us? If you want to be looked down upon as you buy your pet supplies....this is the place for you! :( read more

A few weeks ago I forgot to stop on my way home and remembered there was a place very close to my house at the dreaded fletcher/glendale crossing. After years of online shopping for my pets, covid put quite the damper on my experience and running out of dog food is NEVER a good feeling. I found this pet store which is local for me, the first time I went in the associate, Amber was very kind and showed me where everything was. I've been back three times and she's always helpful in answering questions and knows right where everything is. The best part was when they were out of the size dog food I needed, Amber called me when they got it and even delivered it to me. I don't know if I want to go back to online shopping. read more

I have been going here for a couple years already. Everyone is so knowledgeable and the staff has been there a long time, however when I say staff one or two people might be there at a time they have another shop in Glendale but I go to the small little one on La Cienega and Pico. I have a fussy cat and a dog that will eat anything. I only feed my pets raw food. They carry the Best of the Best of every type of food so if you want the best quality for your pet this is the perfect place to shop. This is not like going to your larger pet stores or the market for food it is a boutique shop with specialty boutique items that are of the finest quality. My family and I absolutely LOVE this place! The owners are extremely lovely people, not to mention the staff. They have extensive knowledge about the products they sell & about dogs. They recently picked up from their other store a 30lb bag of my dog food (since they didn't have it in their Silverlake store). The next day they delivered it to my home so I wouldn't have to make a trip back. Awesome! They also carry green tripe canned dog food that my dogs LOVE & big pet food chains don't carry. Ps... Pet Express (not to be confused with Petfood Express) is a small, independent family-owned pet food store specializing in natural, healthy options for your cat or dog. The store is well-stocked and they carry a lot of brands that I don't see anywhere else (except maybe online.) What they lack in physical store size they make up for with selection and service. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable and friendly and they seem genuinely interested in finding the best (not necessarily the most expensive) food for your pet's particular needs. So I'm trying to find a specific type of food for my furry friend and having a really hard time. I resorted to searching the manufacturers website and this place came up as a potential hit. I'm thinking, GREAT! So I call and speak with some lady who says they don't carry the specific type I'm looking for but they have a few others by the same manufacturer. I ask her which ones and she tell me, I'm pretty excited. I ask her how much and she says unfortunately it's their policy not to give out prices over the phone. SERIOUSLY? I'm sorry but then I guess it will be MY policy not to waste my time driving to your store to find out. I had been going here for a little while and enjoyed supporting this local store over the big box pet stores, however my last visit may have sent me back to those big stores. The charge for a 20lb bag of feline pine is $17.99, almost double the price found elsewhere. The worst part is my total was $24 meaning I was charged a 33% tax rate. I figured it was a mistake so called them up but was told all was correct! Wow! I gave three stars because this is a nice little local pet store with friendly ownership. I'm glad others have good experiences and prices but unfortunately it's just not working out for me with the particular product I need. read more

Have been getting my cats' food here for over 5 or 6 years and I've never been disappointed. They've never shown loyalty to specific brands or products - which I appreciate - instead they have always helped me find the *right* food that my cats will eat as their tastes and age change. They even let you return unopened cans which has really helped make experimenting/adjusting risk free. The people of this store seem to genuinely care about cats and dogs but that's about it. They don't seem to care about the customer, they seem more interested in condescending to them. When we first visited we were informed we could use a loyalty program for some of the kibble and were quite pleased by this as we buy a lot of kibble, but that was untrue. Whether or not they actually offer the program is a mystery, we got different answers from each employee on every visit. One even told us that it never existed. Whatever you say, we will shop at a chain where they honor their own coupons and don't hit you with the hard sell every time you try to shop. It's annoying to go through the same sales pitch every time you walk into the store, it's a quick stop to buy food for my cats not Groundhog's Day. read more

I've been coming here for a little more than 6 years and the staff is always helpful, knowledgeable about their products and very reasonably priced. The quality of dog food is very good as well. My dog is allergic to chicken and they have a kibble that I couldn't find anywhere that is chicken and grain free. They also have great raw meat selections, a little pricier than the kibble, but I mix the meat with the kibble and it lasts a bit longer, s I save more money in the long run and the great benefit of having a healthier, happy dog. I'm not sure why everyone's raving about prices. Collar and Leash beats their prices, at least in wet and dry dog food. The Evanger's wet is about .40 more expensive here. They also don't put pricing on anything which I find very annoying! This said, I do like the owner and it's a nice little store that's convenient if I'm in need of something right by me. read more
