Love Pet Food Express! I had a problem with a product and they took care of me right away. Never did I feel weird for returning my item. I use their bathing tubs which are always cleaned with fresh cleaned towels and aprons so I don't get wet when I'm bathing my dogs. All staff have smiles on their faces! I like the products this store sells but I feel bad for some of the employees. I come in a lot and I always feel like I see the same older lady (I never catch her name) yelling across the store or running out of the back to tell the employees what to do. I can only assume she's the manager but if I was her I wouldn't let a customer see that because it looks very unprofessional. Like do if you need to talk about something take it to the backroom. And sometimes she'll just stand there while theyre talking to a customer and wait for them to finish. Either that or she's standing at the front with a clipboard watching everyone. Seems like management isn't very good here which is a bummer because it seems like a fun place to work read more

Excellent customer service. We have a dog that is finicky and the salespeople here have help us time and time again. In addition, when we've had to return food, they did so. Our two dogs like the baths here more than at home. Perhaps we're the ones who like the baths here more than at home because it's nice to have the dogs at waist level while bathing them. read more

I've been wanting to take my pup here for awhile and today I stopped by to use their self service shower station. All I can say is that this place is AMAZING! They provide everything you would need for a shower without the hassle of cleaning it all up. As it was my first time one of the employees, Viki, was really sweet and explained how it all worked. Literally just adopt our dog Shyla that hour and we're heading for a drive when we saw this place. Head in and we're greeted right away. Staff was amazing to say the least. Shyla has a sensitive stomach and the staff was super helpful with food and snack choices. Shyla got a little anxious and stressed around another dog and the staff was quick to adjust and defuse the situation. Shauna was abosulty awesome. She spent time with us, I never felt rushed. She educated us different harness styles until we were able to find the perfect one for Shyla's walking habits. She helped us find the right snakes for Shyla's sensitive stomach as well as educate us on how often we should feed/treats/edc. She.was.amazing. everyone was really friendly. Don't let the name (express) stop you from taking your time in there. I did and I couldn't be happier. This was my first time at the store. I needed to use their pet wash and buy food. The store was slow when I walked in and Raul immediately helped me get setup with the pet wash station. He excused himself after I was all set up. Then Mark came over to check on me. He helped me find my food and we chit chatted to the register. There I met Vikki, wow! She talked to me about her son's dog and sold me on a new food raw food diet I am going to introduce my working dog to. Totally up selling me, but I'm good with that. I have been frequenting Pet Food Express stores from the East Bay to Southern California for nearly ten years. Over the years, I have rescued and fostered nearly 90 cats and dogs. I have always found staff and management so helpful. For the past four years, I have shopped primarily at the Oxnard PFE, but I now have to drive out of my way to the Thousand Oaks store to get friendly, competent costumer service in a positive environment. Since Linda took over as manager at PFE Oxnard, the store has gone downhill. All the staff that I loved seeing and getting product recommendations from are now gone. No one seems to care about customer service at the Oxnard store, especially not Linda. The store is filthy and disorganized and moral is down. I have referred so many adopters to PFE from the Bay Area to Long Beach. I will no longer refer people to the Oxnard store. I just hope that the other stores don't go downhill. Something is wrong with their corporate if they don't take a look at how this store is being run down. They should interview past employees and find out why they are no longer there. I have a hunch it is the same reason costumers are also no longer there. And by the way, I have notices that negative reviews are somehow being deleted from Yelp for PFE Oxnard. That is another indication that Pet Food Express Corporate does not care whether or not this store is run efficiently and with exceptional customer service. There is one helpful employee named John, but where the hell is the rest of the old staff??!! Get them back! read more

Awesome little place! Love the Self-Pet Wash for only 15$! Well worth it! It comes with towels, shampoo, a full washing station, hair dryer, and an apron so you dog get hair or water on yourself! Now only if they had self grooming. Haha! Just Kidding! The customer service is great and the staff are very helpful! Pet Food is a little more expensive than regular pet stores, but they don't have our dog or cat food anyway, we use Simply Nourish which is a special healthy food by PetSmart only. Treats are GREAT though from Pet Food Express! We will defineltly be returning! read more

The store is amazing but their assistant manager Ashley is horrible! Every time I go in she on the phone and not asking for help. I always hear her talk to her employees about her personal issues which is so unprofessional especially in front of customers. No wonder she looks so miserable. I went in one day and she did not even ask me if I needed help or help to the car. I am a disabled veteran and do need help taking my dog food to the car. I asked her once to help me and she made a face and rolled her eyes (she did help me to the car but with the attitude) . I don't regularly shop at pet express due to the unknown products the store offers; However, that all changed ! Thank you Sara for putting in the time to walk me through all the RIGHT products for my 3 husky puppies! Sara put the time to give me important information about how to care for them for the long term and ultimately extend their longevity of life by supplying my pups with the right things and cutting out the common and uncommon practices for caring for dogs. She was extremely thorough and I could not be anymore grateful for all her time! She was busy but still made time for me to answer all of my questions, make suggestions, hand me the perfect products and open my eyes to another whole new way of caring for my pets. she was genuine which Is what I appreciated the most. She took the stress out and made it simple ! She actually cared and knew so much which left no room for me to second guess anything! Thank you so so much! It was a breath of fresh air to know that she is another pet owner with the same concerns , been threw the rough patches and found solutions and has had continuous results with her very own! First of all everyone who works here is SO nice! It's really refreshing to walk into a place and be greeted by everyone with a friendly hello and a smile that's genuine. Secondly they have a great variety of food and treats for my doggies and kitty and the store is laid out nicely. I also think the bathing area in the back is really cool although I haven't used it personally. We took our dogs in there one night without realizing it was literally closing time and the guy was locking up but politely said oh it's totally fine come on in! We bought a few things and when I mentioned it was my dogs birthday they gave her a free cookie :) I'll definitely be back here. read more

So very impressed with this store! I went in to see if they carried a specific brand of food we buy for our dogs. It is high quality, and a lot of pet food stores don't carry it in Oxnard. SO HAPPY this store does, and the prices are comparable to other specialty pet food stores in Ventura. Now I don't have to drive out of my way to get it! I was pleased to see that they carry high quality food, treats, all sorts of dog leashes, collars, bowls and pet beds! The prices are fair. They also have a self-serve doggy wash area which looks super cool! We will be coming back soon to get our dog's new treats! Also, the service we received was wonderful! I haven't used it, I get my dog washed at his kennel, but the wash stations in the back seem a great idea. They look very spacious, made for all sizes of dogs. So I absolutely love this place. I brought my big guy in here to look around and to take advantage of the complimentary self-service wash that they have there. It's pretty cool. Kinda like a self-serve car wash but for dogs!! Anyway, an employee was eager to help answer any questions I might have. I really want to see more of these places. The only draw back I see is that the average pet owner, especially large breed owners like myself, will not be able to afford to use this as a primary source of food. I can't. The self wash stations are amazing. A tiled and easy to get your pup into. You can choose your soap which comes right out of the hose with the water. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Today I decided to adopt a pet from the shelter his name is Max and I wanted to give him a bath and I was asking around where was a good spot and my sister in law told me about this place , best decision I made first of all the whole store was super clean and had its own little section from toys to food and so much more .. since it was my first time the girl that helped me out was very helpful and nice and took her time to explain to me and my husband what each soap was going to work on his fur which was a big plus . But yes very easy to give max his bath . You do get 25 minutes of wash and dry , 2 towels and all for 15$ can't beat that . I will be returning! read more

These folks are AMAZING! They geniunally care about animals and it shows! Every time I go it's a wonderful experience! Sean is extremely helpful & kind; when it came time to switch my dogs' food (due individual health issues) he carefully took the time to listen to our specific needs, made appropriate suggestions and even gave us a bag to try(I mean talk about stellar guest satisfaction skills!). He also reassured me that if it did not work out I could bring the unused food back and it would be donated to the shelter(provided it was still in good condition ) The food was hit with my dogs are both are much healthier thanks to the switch! I love that Pet Food Express only offers high quality brands and I don't have to worry that I'm accidentally poisoning my babies! I could go on and on about the amazing service at this store or you could just go see for yourself! Wow wow wow! One of the best PFE I had ever visited. I traveled often from Moorpark to The Bay Area, thus surprised me that they had branched to SoCal. The store is neat, clean and well organized. Don't even let me started on the lovely staff. At first, I was just going to look out around to do some research since I'm adopting a cat soon. I wasn't going to bothered the staff with my silly questions. But I did asked for help from Monique (I hope I'm spelling your name right!). Honestly, best decision ever. Monique was very friendly and informative. She had a positive attitude, which kept me from being insecure about my, self assessed, "silly" questions. She gave me great advice and it had changed me and my upcoming decisions regarding cat care, etc. Her male coworker was also very kind, and shared his personal experience of cat care and product deals, etc. I only wished that I have also asked for his name to give him the credit he deserves! Honestly the best pet store that I have ever been to. The selection of products is amazing, they don't carry any bad/unhealthy foods, but by far the best thing about the store is the staff! Every time that I have gone in, they have been exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. They have given us so much insight and help with food, CBD products, etc. and have even provided us with samples when possible. I want to thank Vikki for her help today, but have received so much help from all the staff members in the past too.
