Got a coupon in the mail for a free box of treats and decided to finally check this place out with my lab/pittie mix, Maggie. Definitely a lot smaller than your average Petco or PetSmart, but hey, it's called Pet Food Express for a reason! Maybe not as many aisles for Maggie to roam around, but for myself, very convenient to just run in and grab a bag of food or a couple treats. I came in just before closing and saw that at least 3 doggies were getting baths in the self-service wash station --- looks popular and the dogs seemed to be enjoying themselves! Service was very friendly and I got a few suggestions on some new treats to try. In particular, Maggie insisted (literally, she grabbed it herself) on a "No-hide beef chew" which is a great alternative to rawhide --- made of some fancy ingredients like beef, brown rice flour, eggs, olive oil, banana, and pineapple. Also, I appreciated the free weigh station right by the register, for those of us dog-mommies out there who have to keep an eye out when our furry babies start getting chubby. Great Place!! Took our GSD Schultz in for an oxygen bath and he loved it, at least he didn't try to run out. Christina and Richard were both very helpful in explaining how to operate the bath and options to consider. There are no ups or extras to sell just $15 to use the facility including aprons, towels, waterproof collar and air drier. Finished in about twenty minutes and what a clean boy in the end. Best of all, no wet dog smell with the H2O2 bath. Definitely a regular spot for our dog. read more

My dog was behind on his vaccinations so I decided to take him here as I heard that there was a low-cost clinic on Sunday's. For $160 dollars I was able to get my dog micro-chopped, buy a 3-month pack of Nexguard, have him up to date with his vaccinations, and have a blood draw and a fecal test. I'm increasingly worried about my dog contracting heartworm disease and I was extremely happy that this is included in the pack. There was literally no wait and the vet was quick and thorough. Awesome to have in the community. I came for the Sunday clinic and everyone was so great with my dog, who was a big cry baby when he had to get his shots! Then he peed (slight marking problem when not at home) because why not right, and they were nice about that too. Robert and an older woman there were so nice to me and answered all of my many questions. Everyone I met there seems to really love and care about dogs and customers. My family lost their home and everything in it this last week and after seeing a FB post heard that Pet Food Express was helping families with basic pet food/supplies for fire victims. I expected a discount at best but was so amazed when I took my mother there we were greeted by Victoria who walked us through the store. She helped us get food for my mom's cat and dog as well as some other basic supplies that had all been lost in the fire. We were told how generous the owners were and how important it was for them to give back and help those through the Thomas Fire destruction. I come here quite frequently for Dog food for my German Shepherd black lab, when she was a puppy she had a tough time gaining weight and at 8 weeks old was severely under weight. Walked in with our 2 pups tonight so we could look at pup toys. As we walked in within minutes of looking, the entire store went dark. The associates turned off the lights. So we walked up front and said guess you're closing, the associate said yes. It would have been nice for the two associates at the front counter who saw us when we had just walked in to mention to us that they were about to close. Instead looked at us as we were leaving and said did you want to buy something. Kinda hard to buy something when you turned off all the lights on us. I won't give a lower star rating because I like to support local businesses. I started coming here because the last local pet store had terrible customer service. I have always appreciated the quick service and attention at this location. I have gone twice since Covid-19 situation and had good experiences. Today there was a wait (which is fine, we have to get through this together) But there was an associate inside by herself assisting someone else, after quite a while Linda came out and was not at all friendly and had a terrible attitude. I felt bad for the other associate who also didn't seem to know how to handle my situation, that I had called in advance to make them aware, but Linda chose to blame myself and "her employee".
