If I could rate this place zero stars I would. We dropped off our dog at Pet Paradise on December 1 and picked him up December 8. When we got him back he was super skinny, and they told us that he missed us so he didn't eat. We believed it, even tho he has never done that before, because I do know of dogs who do that. When we got home I fed him, and we all went to bed. The next day on our walk he poops and there was raw rice in his poop. RAW RICE! I called Pet Paradise right away and they told me he didn't want to eat his food, so they made him rice and canned chicken. I asked if they cooked the rice and they said yes. I told them how it looked raw in his poop. They told me rice does not digest thats why it looked how it did. Now I have eaten rice and I know how it digests. Not only that I left a longggg detailed note on how to feed my dog. I have to make his food. He has a lot of allergies and can't eat normal dog food. His food consists of brown rice, ground chicken, peas, carrots sweet potatoes, and coconut oil. How in the world did he not want the food I cooked and wanted raw rice and chicken? Then out of curiosity I read the comment card they have left.... The commented he ate great!! They had no problem. I am pretty sure they forgot to refrigerate his food and it spoiled, they panicked and tried to mimic my recipe. The part that makes me the most upset is on the note I had written I have left my number, my husbands number and they also had the number to a friend that was instate that could have picked him up at anytime, or answered questions. They could have called I would have given them the recipe and sent them money to buy the right ingredients! My friend would have picked him up, I'm sorry a dog not eating for 8 days is an emergency to me. He lost 15 pounds and had fur missing, and it was just falling out, because he didn't eat. I would NEVER EVER recommend this place to anyone. I suggest if you love your animal, look somewhere else. To the people who work there, its clearly just a job to them. My dogs have come to Pet Paradise for about 8 years and I originally gave 5 stars and would have given more if I could. Since the new management, I have continued to be more and more disappointed. They charge fees for pickup after 12p, they no longer have a groomer onsite so baths do not include a nail trim, they were very reluctant to allow me to leave a therapeutic bed with my 12-yr-old dog, all food has to be put in individual baggies per meal per dog, and nobody is there past 7pm period. I called today for 3+ hours to inform them that my flight was delayed and the auto attendant was on so nobody was answering; called corporate and they couldn't get through either. I will no longer board my dogs here; they are professional but nowhere near the 5 stars I gave originally. read more

none of our pets needs were met. we specifically left instructions with her items (toys, chew bones, clean personal blankets) and none of those things were given to her. when we got home she gulped water as if she hadn't been given in for some time. she is such a loving and emotional dog, for her to be treated this way is wrong. they will never get the opportunity from us to allow this to happen again. read more

I noticed the only two reviews on here specifically rank the grooming services at Pet Paradise. I'll agree, it's not my favorite grooming place, BUT, I'm not reviewing grooming. I take my two dogs here (a 6-year-old golden retriever and 1-year-old border collie/retriever) to Pet Paradise for doggie daycare. They typically go once a week. Sometimes once every two weeks. This place has been GREAT for them. We took our golden to another daycare in Frisco (no names), and it was NOT a good experience. He ended up in time-out every day, even though he's a great day and socializes well with others. When I found Pet Paradise, I was excited. One of the cool features about this place is that they have an in-ground swimming pool for the dogs! My golden LOVES to swim, so he could literally spend all day in it. Every time I take my dogs there, I feel like they are getting lots of love and exercise. At the end of the day, they come home so exhausted, which is awesome! The front desk staff knows my dogs' names, and that really warms my heart. They frequently take pictures of the pups and post them on their Facebook page. It's nice to see my kiddos smiling faces on their page every once in a while. They also have web cams, so you can watch your dog throughout the day to check in. AND the facility smells great! It never smells like dog pee or wet dog. They really get major bonus points for that. I really love Pet Paradise! This place is actually out of the way on my way home, but it's such a great place that I don't mind driving an extra 15 minutes. Highly recommend this place for doggie daycare. read more

We needed a pet boarding that was close to our new house, excellent care for our puppies, and friendly service. Pet Paradise on Kathryrn Ln fit that bill. The staff made us feel at ease leaving our puppies for the weekend and the ability to pick them up on Sunday. It also helped knowing we could watch them playing on the pup cam. We also chose to have them groomed. They did an amazing job. They definitely will be watching our girls the next time we go out of town. read more

We left our dog, Chip, here for 7 days. The staff is very kind and professional and they took great care of him. He was very calm and happy when I came to pick him up. Part of the package for his stay was 3 hours of play care a day. Some may feel this isn't much, but for our pet, that is plenty of play. First, I really appreciate the tour they gave us before we brought our babies to stay here. We have four very lean dogs and they were very accommodating with extra bed and blankets, which is why we left our previous kennel. Left our babies for 10 days at the Custer location in Plano. Every day I received updates and pictures via email. Just picked the kids up from pup day care, and the folks at Pet Paradise Custer are absolutely amazing! After years of keeping them separated from other dogs because a day care in Los Angeles told us they were not compatible with other dogs because of their breed (pit bulls) Pet Paradise crushed that stereotype by showing us that our dogs are actually GREAT with other dogs and play very well with others!! Zero aggression. I reviewed this place about a year ago and I said I would give it 5 stars if it had a pool and it does. Roxi (my pitbull) loves to visit their facilities and I am happy with the service. Its no question a little pricey but I'm happy she is well taken care of so that makes up for the cost. Our family travels frequently and this place is our dog's home away from home. He runs to greet the people that work the front desk and he is always warmly greeted by name. I had several things go wrong. I was informed because he was not neutered he would not be able to play with other dogs and he would have 15 minutes in the morning and evening with regular restroom breaks. I asked to pay more for extra play time. 30 minutes for $10 was a great deal so I asked for two extra play periods. I picked him up and they didn't charge for it and didn't mention it... the person clearly forgot to log it. Therefore it didn't happen. 2nd-his dog tag was gone. 3rd- he had two large open cuts behind his ear and leg... which ended up in bacteria infection. 4th- he had diarrhea for several days after. They did call to ask how things went and I said they clearly care about quantity over quality... yet they were respectful after the fact and offered to make it up. I did appreciate the concern and we both recognized you would not trust people twice to do a bad job with a dog. So won't be going back. read more

I have been taking my dog here for the past 5 years and I will never take him anywhere else. The first time I went I got a tour of the entire facility and I was surprised that there were no kennels, just spacious suites, large play areas, and a huge backyard. Another thing I immediately noticed is the smell or lack there of, Pet Paradise is the cleanest facility I have ever been in. He was my first dog and I really didn't know what I should and shouldn't do and they were a huge help, from telling me what I should and shouldn't buy to calming me down when I freaked out about the smallest thing and it wasn't long before he was part of the family. The staff is not only extremely knowledgeable about pet care and their needs they know everybody by name and treat each dog like their own. I never have to worry about him when he is there whether it is just for the day or if he stays overnight if I am out of town. He goes to day camp and there are times that all I have to do is open my car door and he knows exactly where to go, he plays all day inside and out and he is exhausted when he gets home. He is a sweet boy, extremely social and well adjusted, and I believe a large part of that is great people they have on staff. As per the grooming services I couldn't be more happy, Chewy hates all things related to grooming and normally runs from all other groomers except Chrissy, I told her how I like him groomed one time and I never had to again, and he looks great every single time. Bottom line, I love Pet Paradise the facility and I adore the staff. If you think of your dog as a child as I do, you won't find a place that will love and care for them as much as you do! read more

When we moved to Plano two years ago, we had difficulty finding a quality kennel that was clean and whose personnel actually cared for and about the animals that were left in their facility. Pet Paradise is significantly better than any other facility that we have found. Our two dogs are always clean, healthy, & well fed when they return home. The day care service is well supervised. The employees all really love pets. The best endorsement is actually given by my dogs. When we arrive at Pet Paradise, both dogs jump out of the car and run into the facility to greet the employees, that they remember and love. At the end of the day, they are safe and happy. I highly recommend Pet Paradise! We have been sending our dog there for over a year now and couldn't be happier. After checking out many other doggie daycares in the McKinney/Allen area, Pet Paradise really stands out as superior. The staff and management have always been extremely friendly to us and our dog and genuinely seem to enjoy their jobs! We have never boarded there, so I can't speak to those services, but the day care is top notch! There are a few things that really set PP apart from others in the area: 1. The dogs are not just sitting in a small room all day and getting brief play breaks. At PP, they rotate between an inside playroom and going outdoors and are busy ALL day. You can see this for yourself via the webcams installed throughout the location. They also installed a pool within the last year, which seems to be a big hit if you watch the cameras. 2. They do an amazing job of taking care of loyal customers. Throughout the year, they have various promotions that offer discounts and other services. They even have a photographer come to take "school pictures" of your pets. 3. There are always staff members around and interacting with the dogs. You can pay extra for one-on-one play time, but they are not limited to those times for human interaction. 4. The place is extremely well maintained and always seems clean. 5. Our dog absolutely loves going there and can't hold in her excitement when she finds out she gets to go that day. Overall, the price may be a bit higher than the average, but for the quality of service and cleanliness of the facilities, it is well worth it. Our dogs have been going to pet paradise for years and love it. Our Great Dane goes to day camp once a week and we always board our dogs here. They love the facility and the staff...and we do to. They know our names (and our dogs) when we arrive. Our cocker spaniel requires medicine and special good and the staff is always accommodating. Our only wish is that the weekend pickup and drop off times were extended (they were previously open from 7-7 on Saturday and Sunday. The information about Brandon is not correct any more. He was the owner and now has been removed from this location to working on some marketing job for the corporate office of Pet Paradise resort As of last Monday, 2/16, the corporate office implimented some changes which were not communicated in any way to their customers. In the past, the dogs had a very large area in doors and outdoors where they could spend their days freely roaming. There was always staff with them. Their new policy is that the dogs will be broken up in small groups and played with for an hour at a time. The remaining time, they are put in the "suites" which are acutally their boarding kennels until their next play time. So the dogs are shuffled in and out so not really sure if they are even out for 1 hour at time. But here is the kicker, the playtime doesn't start when your dog gets there nor does it end at the end of the day. It is only limited to amount of time that most of the dogs arrive and before the customers start picking up their dogs. My dog who needs a lot of play time to get tired, was in in the Kennels on Wed 2/17 for 6 HOURS OUT OF THE 10 HOURS she was there. Not only are they are confined for long periods, they are having a increase in price on top of it. So I am paying more and she is less tired and confined for long periods of time. I might as well leave her at home where she will get the same amount of rest period as she gets at Doggie day care. WHY PAY FOR IT~ I am so disappointed that first of all that Brandon sold his business to this corporation and that they changed their policy. I had my dog their for 3 years, 2 to 3 times a week. In the meantime, I have found several other pet day care's that allow the dogs to run free but with 1 hour of rest required over the lunch period. I've boarded my three dogs at this Pet Paradise every time we travel for several years now and I've always had a great experience. The staff is outstanding in my opinion. They are all dog lovers and they make me feel very comfortable leaving our pets for several days to weeks at a time. I took my four bichons in on 3/13/13, to be bathed and brushed. I had told this place about the awful experience I had already had since moving here. Two hours later, they called and said my dogs were ready. The 2 girls didn't look clean at all. I took them home and bathed them myself. The boys may have been wetted, but they were not bushed out as their hair was curly like a poodle. I would never go back to this place. They charged me $155.00 for the crapiest work I have ever seen. We recently moved across the metroplex to Frisco and after touring multiple dog boarding facilities, we decided on Pet Paradise Custer. They met all of my original requirements: boarding that includes play time, outside areas to play, a clean facility, web cameras to watch, & nice staff members that we're happy to answer my many questions. Our two large dogs have stayed here two times for multiple nights and have visited a few times for daycamp. They always come home very tired and happy. Even better, they get excited once we pull into the parking lot at Pet Paradise, so I know they enjoy going here. The report cards are a cute benefit and I really appreciate the genuine care that the employees seem to give our dogs. One of our dogs takes medicine twice a day and they are very accommodating. The pool at this location is a favorite for our lab. The ability to book reservations online is convenient and quick. We've already booked our next boarding reservation here for our dogs and I'm sure they're looking forward to it! UPDATED 10 months after my original review: we still love this place. Our pups visit for day camp or boarding usually at least every other month and they always have a great time. I still love the web cams and report cards and they still come home tired and happy. I am sad to say that I will no longer be using this facility. I have been a loyal customer of this site long before it was purchased by corporate Pet Paradise. However, today I attempted to make a reservation for one night for my two dogs including day care and boarding as I have done so many times. On this occasion, I was told that even if there was a spot open Thursday, because it was the holidays I would be charged for three nights even though I was only going to need one night. If it were Christmas Eve or New Years Eve....I would understand. Now is this how you reward loyal customers? Sadly, this place has been taken over by corporate America and greed. Just picked up my dog from a few days boarding and I have to say she had the time of her life! She is a very high energy dog and the staff at Pet Paradise spend a lot of time playing outside with her in the large outdoor park-like area running and tossing her ball. When we get home, she is content and falls quickly to sleep for an afternoon nap. Our dog is on daily medication and I believe the employees give her medication at the requested times because she always seems healthy when we pick her up. This particular location is about a 35 minute drive for us, but we gladly make the trip. read more

I've lived in 5 states with my Saint Bernard Charlie, and travel frequently for work. I decided a year ago I would only leave Charlie at in home boarding due to him coming home skinny and hot spots after the 3 times I boarded at separate facilities. When I moved here from Boston in August, I needed to find a place I could drop him overnight while I moved in, and reluctantly knew it was going to be a facility. When I called the receptionist was polite, knowledgeable, and accomodating. Charlie had such a nice stay I've used them ever since. He's never come home with hot spots and I boarded him several weeks in a 2 month period. The staff are always courteous and appreciative of my business. The only reason this review isn't 5 stars is due to only having 2 20 minute play times included in boarding, I think it should include more to be competitive. We were in the process of moving from one home to the next within the same area and had to board our sweet doggie while we stayed in a hotel for a month! I can not thank the staff at Pet Paradise in Plano Texas for the love and care they gave my dog Sydney. My dear neurotic rescue dog came with many emotional issues. I had had difficulty boarding her in the past but she settled in and love it at Pet Paradise . As she grew older life became very difficult for her. I knew when I went to work she was safe and happy at day care. She was on many meds and they were always given correctly. When she chose to lick her fur off in an anxiety attack Lynnsey called me and handled it without a vet visit. The staff greeted us by name and I felt truly cared about her. I recently lost my beloved friend but will be grateful to the staff of Pet Paradise forever. The entire staff is wonderful . Brandon ( manager) took the time to call me after Sydney's death. My puppy and I couldn't love or recommend Pet Paradise (on Kathryn) more. They have watched over my Huckster in boarding and daycamp when needed in the last year and honestly... They are the best at what they do. I am super selective of who and where I leave my pup. They not only know who Huck is when we come in but the daycamp room monitor comes out and gives you a hug and recaps his day (from his time outside or inside with group play, if he was a brat, and his downtime). The facilities are not only clean but no boarding or puppy prison smell. The grooming is pricy... It is. But she does an amazing job. Lastly when I toured their facility a little over a year ago I could tell they truly love dogs and want literally nothing but the best for them. It shows, and I see it every time they spend time with my Huckster. Thank you for what you do and choosing to raise the standards of doggy daycamp and boarding. The Huckster loves y'all and so do I.
