Took my dogs to get groomed and was refused service due to their hair being matted behind the ears. This wasnt an issue for the last 5 years me taking them to the same place. Was told that they implemented the policy or starting to reinforce it now. It would have been nice if I was told that when I booked the appointment last month. If they said they wont groom the dogs if there is matting behind the ears I would have booked another place. Employee never apologized and was rude, taking my business elsewhere.l read more

I ordered curbside as I have a small child and didn't want to drag him in with me. After 20 minutes of waiting in the car I had to go in and just get it myself with my small child. So when I get to counter I wait another 10 minutes for someone to come to help.Completely worthless ordering online from this store it would seem. Took our dog for a heart guard test this morning, his appointment was at 10:10. We were told to arrive 10 minutes early which we did. There was one couple ahead of us with 2 puppies. The girl doing the check was explaining the different packages to them while 3 employees stood behind talking to each other. After 25 minutes of our extremely anxious dog getting very upset, I went and asked one if they could please check him in so we could get him home. The one girl finally did, then Dr Gorman proceeded to tell me that "maybe this isn't the right environment for your dog" and that their "normal" wait times are anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half. We have been having our dog tested at Petco for many years. Sorry dogs with anxiety still need healthcare, which is why we make him appointments. Dr Gorman was absolutely correct that this is not the right environment for our dog. We will never return. read more

Rick is such an awful store employee that I downloaded this app just to complain about him. I'm not a "Karen", I don't normally complain and I always try to be really nice to service staff, but Rick's behavior was so horrendous and I was so uncomfortable that I left the store entirely. He has nothing but a sad lifetime of bad customer service jobs to look forward to, and I pity him for that. Also, I brought my dog there specifically to get his nails done and the groomers took 2 and a half hours and didn't even bother to cut one of his dew claws, which reallllllllllly needs it. 0/10 experience. The fish department's customer service is always very friendly and gives helpful advice. We are getting a Fishtank going and want to make sure everything is balanced correctly. I am not entirely sure what to say about this place except that it is my go-to store for pet supplies. I have been in here multiple times to look for anything from cat litter, to cat food, to beds. (plus a long time ago, fish supplies). Every time I have came I have been greeted by someone on the floor. In every case, the person seemed to know what they were talking about and made sure that I not only found the product... but made sure that I knew that if it didn't work to bring it back. Let me say this once - customer service means a lot to me and this store has been very good to me. So if you love your little furball at home, I suggest you come and get them some goodies here at Petco. read more

I bought some mealworms from this location not knowing that you needed to check the cup to make sure the worms were alive and well. When I realized a lot of them were dead I called and asked if they could do an even exchange. I got so much more than I could have hoped for. Not only did they immediately accept and apologize for the dead worms, they brought me an entire 500 ct container of worms from the back for me to take home. We have an overly active, slightly ADD, 11 month old labradoodle Molly who really puts the groomers through their paces when she comes for a bath. they are nice enough to tell me that she is a good girl, a challenge when it comes to brushing in the end they have accomplished the WILD CHILD! Groomers are great, pleasant and fun, and really at their jobs! Being that we don't do presicion cutting I can't comment on that. read more

Horrible grooming service. I made appointment almost two weeks in advance, and recieved the shots needed prior to service explanation etc. I told them my dog recieved his shot there and they told me they would verify and send appointment reminder when everything was set. I recieved my email reminder with confirmation, and when I get there they tell me they need to call to confirm shots given. Why would you not confirm prior to me arriving that shot records could not be found so I could bring them with me? Why confirm appointment then turn me away and wasting my time? The groomer was rude, and when I asked why they didn't confirm prior... she said, I just did right now. Horrible customer service and people skills. Will never buy anything from this store or use services. read more

Nothing great, nothing bad a out this store. I don't find the employees that work here overly helpful and some of them don't know anything more about animal care than I do, so...... The store is typically well stocked and clean. The aisles are wide which is good and there's a good selection of merchandise. read more

I went into this store as I was in the area and I was unable to find dog boots in my dogs size in my area. I did not think I had to physically open the product and inspect it. However, when I got home, it was an unfortunate surprise that I was sold pre-used dirty dog boots. Highly disappointed read more

My favorite part about coming here to get supplies for our animals, is looking at the kitties up for adoption. My least favorite part is knowing I can't take all of them home! :( Prices are a bit high on certain things, but it's a good store. Friendly employees and a clean store makes for a good shopping experience. read more

I took my dog here to get vaccinated through the Vetco clinic and my experience was horrifying, they messed up my dog's record and labeled him as highly aggressive. They put a muzzle on him but tighter it to the point where my dog had difficulty breathing and they had 2 veterinarians restraining him on the table. They then tried to apply the deworming medication but all of it dropped out because the muzzle was way too tight. I politely asked if I could stand near my dog so he wouldn't be as frightened but they insisted that I had to stand almost 75 feet away. It's a shame because I've been coming here for several years now and it definitely be my last. It was so hard for me to watch as my 20 pound corgi was manhandled and thrown around. The abusive actions of these veterinarians should not be tolerated and compensation of messing up the records should not just be "sorry." If you care for your animal, as any animal parent will, you wouldn't want to go through what I've experienced. read more

Wish there was a zero star for the rating. The store is on Arizona Ave in Chandler Store number 1151. Will not be returning to this store, we were there shopping for our new puppy when the night manager rudely informed us that his store was closing in 10 minutes, not so much as to may I help you find something--as we were attempting to purchase another item but needed assistance. We were gong to leave the items we picked up for our puppy but decided that we would go ahead and purchase the needed items. At the check out the young lady that was assisting us said I need to apologize for my manager-as she heard his comment to us approx. 25 feet away. When checking the receipt of the other items we purchased we noted that the time is moved forward as we noted after checking out and walking to our car our phones and vehicle clock all read 8:52 pm, the receipt shows a check out time of 8:57 pm. There were other people arriving at the store at and after his terrible comment was made to us, so we have no idea how he must have treated them. read more

Our long haired corgi never looked Better! Berge is wonderful. She listened to what we wanted done, did exactly that, and verified that she had done as we requested. In addition to her competence, she is a pleasant young woman who was willing to give me some tips about dematting our dog. Plus, and this may be most important, she was very sweet and gentle with our sometimes not so sweet fur baby. read more

we went in to purchase a ferret yesterday, and asked an associate to help us handle them. he rolled his eyes when we said hello, then he asked if we were interested in purchasing (i cant remember his name- blond hair in a bowl cut, blue petco shirt) and we said yes, we were considering purchasing one. he said "well, we arent supposed to let anybody hold them" and started to unlock the cage. his manager then shouted across the store (dark brown hair, facial hair, green petco shirt) that they werent allowing people to hold the ferrets, no matter what. how are they supposed to sell any without people holding them? he didnt come to talk to us further, just continued shouting to his coworker from across the store. we had gone to about 3 other petcos that day and the ones we had gone to let us handle them since we are both adults and we had the money to purchase a ferret at that moment. however, these two associates were incredibly rude and missed out on a ferret sale. i understand store policy about not letting people handle them for fun and games, but we had stated that we wanted to purchase a ferret from them. anyways, after what seemed to be the shift lead or manager had shouted at us, he walked past us to stand at the door and stare us down as my partner and i talked about whether or not we wanted to buy a ferret we dont know the personality of. as we walked out, they said nothing to us, just stared us down as we walked to our car. all in all, not a great experience and made us feel incredibly unwelcomed in their store. read more

I bring my Pomeranian, Hannibal, to be groomed at this location. He isn't the most fond of people especially when I'm around but he's always nice and loving to his groomers! He has made his rounds with the groomers at this location and they have all done an amazing job on him. He's left clean and happy which makes me happy. read more

After an injury to my collar bone and I was left unable to groom my dog, I took her to their grooming dept. to get shaved down/dematted. When I picked her up with my family, the groomer demanded to know who's dog she was and when I admitted to her being mine, the groomer grabbed the dogs shaven hair and FOLLOWED ME AROUND THE REST OF THE STORE with the pelt showing me how awful it was. The groomer was definitely persistent as she kept following me and loudly announcing to me and the other customers that if I had ever to come back, she would call animal control to report the abuse the dog was suffering and that she would personally make sure I would never see my dog again. I was MORTIFIED. I was so red in my cheeks & all I could say was an awkward "ok thanks" as I hurried away from her and out of the store. Granted, this did happen a few years ago and staff may have changed since then, but I have decided to honor the groomer's advice to never return to that PetCo. ever again. read more

Stopped in around 10 am today to exchange a item. The Manager was very helpful in retrieving my cc receipt that I lost. But the cashier at front was another story. She greeted everyone else but me. Never even said the general greeting "welcome to Petco". Her whole body language and demeanor was so condensing. She couldn't even bring herself to say thank you at end of my transaction. She definitely needs re-training or perhaps just a self-realization. Don't feel like coming to this store anymore :( read more

I use to take my dog Tucker to Pet Club but when my girl quit I decided to try Petco on Arizona and Ocotillo. This place was more expensive but it was worth it so I made an appointment to come back. When we arrived for our appointed time they told me Tucker was not on the schedule. When I showed them the paperwork showing the appointment they took Tucker for grooming. When I went back today for Tuckers appointment they told me again that he was not on schedule. Unfortunately I didn't take the paper showing the appointment. The girl said that wouldn't help as they were short on staff and she is leaving at 3:30 PM. I was there 3:20 PM. I would not be going back there again. read more

I come here to purchase my dog food, (Canidae) which seems like it's always out of stock. I ask the employees when the store gets their shipments in, they say on Thursday and try back Friday. So I make sure I come in on Friday or Saturday, but I still have no success. I don't know what the deal is.
